Hello,

i am new in the atcoin world. I am buying some altcoins to start my portfolio.

I have understood that i have to diversify. But how many coins do i need ? Currently i own 5 differents altcoins (ANS, STRAT, XVG, XRP, ARK)
Do you think it's enough ? Now, do you think it's better for me to buy some more of the coin i already own or to buy new coins ? I am thinking of maid, gamecredits, sia...

How many coins do you have in your portfolio ?

I have only bitcoin and two cryptos. Both are successful. Bought eth for 16 dollars (but got 60% stolen) and ktccktkcyckt for 20, when there was a drop of price. I wanted to buy doge recently but found out only this crazy website where it was worth 0.1$ whereas its real price was 0.01 at that time

I own six altcoins. All together my altcoins make up around 30% of my crypto portfolio.

I have litecoin, ethereum, monero, sia, and zencash.

I recently bought Ripple XRP at $0.15, waiting for it to recover back to $0.30+ sell for BTC and get something else. I entered with a very small investment.

I have some of the good coins in my portfolio but I mostly keep it a secret. My main ones are ETH and BTC. I hold all my coins because the coins I hold are appreciating in value every year. I like my coins.

At the moment I only hold 5 different coins, but the only significant holdings come from my bitcoin, all the other coins are coins that I bought a small quantity but nothing really important.

I am new to this as well but researching daily.

Currently my portfolio is

Sold an ETH @ $230 earlier, I bought for 210 so covered most of my fees.

My portfolio is developed to obtain high return (with high risk) on the time-scale of 1 year. It includes Etheroll, Firstblood, Mobilego, IOTA and Nimiq.

I own ethereum, Monero, Dash and Stratis at the moment but only in small amounts. I plan on buying other altcoins after properly analyzing the technical aspects of the coin and the shift in the price levels. I suggest you to do the same.

I own three coins LTC RADS BTC

I only have monero and eth, no more coins. I decide to sell all my coin and replace with only eth and monero after I got loss on trade. Too many coins with different pattern make me stress. Today I only focus with those coins and make me happy because sometimes I get profit. I suggest no more coins to buy before 1 August, read the news and you'll know what happen. Good luck.

Well whether you think 5 is enough for you depends on what exactly you are going for. If you want to invest heavily in a few coins then that should be just fine. If you want a moderate amount of coins personally I would suggest anywhere from 8-15 coins. And if you want a portfolio like an ETF then anywhere from 20+ coins should probably do the trick.

All depends on what you want, and your risk tolerance. I personally have 8-10 coins and this is enough for now. I am diversified enough that one coin doesnt make or break me but not so much that I must rely solely on the industry to go up but rather on my picks to do well. Hope that makes sense, gl with cryptoing ;D

Well, I have a little bit of LTC (still hoping for it's progress); 0.2 BTC, which I actually planned to cash out, but I took a position of waiting currently to Bitcoin grow back at least on 2800$ point and I haven't problem with finances currently , so, I kinda don't need this money right now; 5 LSK and my newbie DGB, which I bought the last week.

Hold alot of rads so i can stake and get free coins by just holding.

only have 5 coin at my portofolio, they are Dogecoin, LTC, PTOY, BTC, and Dash  ;D

i own very few coins are bitcoin it was bought long back and trading using this and also got some ethereum in my wallet got some waves in my wallet dogecoin and also ripple its not doing well but waiting for huge pump of xrp.

Holding 20 different tokens, mostly from the ICOs. Plan to get 20 more and hold them all for the next 5-7 years as an investment vehicle (no trading).

With the recent price drop,  I was buying some of the tokens which I have missed the ICO like BAT, SNT, CFI, etc. which were below the ICO price.

The key to earn from alt coin is to find which coin is the most investors like, so it is not about the number, some of the coin only can go up once and never being pumped again, so to earn from alt coin is to play smart, and from the 5 coins you owned all of them are potential coins, you will want to add litecoin and ethereum to your list, nem and maidsafe is also a good coin

Hold some litecoin and dogecoin for now.

I have many coins, but only four are quantities that would matter someday (ICONOMI, SONM, Aeternity and Sia).

I might be boring, but I sell all my altcoins stash to buy BTC recently. Current BTC price is just simply too good to pass up.
After SegWit2x will be activated we will see the price of Bitcoin multiplied by 2x or 3x when that happens I sell some of my BTC to maybe rebuy some of the most promising altcoins.

6 to 7. Yet, I think they are lots of promising altcoins but we have to make a choice!

The question is not correct. Count other people's money. And why should you?

I have more than 5 coins in my portfolio and almost all of them except bitcoin are new coins because i am more interested in new coins because they have the latest information for the possible solutions that they might include on their project so i think it is worth to invest in new coins rather than the old coins.
