Are Hackers ever caught? For anything?


Even after the fact; for something not directly related to the hack...like buying drugs or instantly having a shit ton of money with no documentation on how they got it...when a few days/months ago they had nothing?


We are talking about millions of $$$ here, unless it is a state sponsored hack, the money has to show up somewhere at sometime...most governments want to know how you got it.


Even if you a cash in - little by little - buying a house, car, nightclub tables, etc, people start asking questions....

i just hope they will.

they do most of the time... it is a hard bussines.

they dont get caught if they are smart enough.

They have to spend the money at one point...unless they have deep connections, you can't just get rich overnight, people will notice...right?

you can move to another country and nobody will ever know that u got rich over night. as far as they know, u were just a rich fuck already. if u choose the right country, u might never even get in trouble

When you are too greedy then one day or another you will be caught...There are quite some talented police man/women out there...

These guys sometimes get caught. Here is the story of the hacker that made the malware which changes BTC address when sending.

The idiot was caught stealing 2 laptops and a gold necklace from his girlfriend's parent's house. He sold the laptops for 150 each. While the IDIOT was sitting on 40 million of BTC he stole using his malware. What a bafoon.

About hackers / scammers getting caught, in crypto, this seems like it rarely happens.
Scammers / Hackers, most of times get a "get out of jail" card, which is wrong, but that is how it is, in the crypto wild west.
It will evolve tho, and I am sure things will eventually become harder to all of them.

most of them seem to be in russia. in russia they also seem to never give up criminals and probably give them a nice reward for ruining foreigner's lives.

Yes. But it will really take time. Here in our country, many people that are into drugs caught in jail and some were killed by our policemen. Because we have the coolest president there is. Hackers really get caught but policemen needs to make sure that they are really hackers.

it is difficult to caught the hackers because they don't   use their true identity.sometimes they caught for the reason of their few mistake. I think there always any mistake they still keep and this is the normal point of them to caught by the government.

Hackers are strangely enough needed.......they show us ower weakneses in the systems......
They can make better systems.
Without them....we are vounarable to ....whatever may com from "the outside"  !!!!!!

Are you talking about the Philippines? Duterte is a criminal and needs to be executed. People shouldn't get killed or even jailed for consuming anything.

It looks like they are not caught very often. If they always act in other countries than those where they live, it will be more difficult to get them.

Sometimes we hear the news that a hacker was caught, but other thousands of thousands laught at those, who chase them.

Most of them will never be caught, the one we see who get caught are only a little % of them.

You will never catch hackers easily... because they are the cyber ninja... they just disappear right away

You can't hack anything without leaving traces. And there are hackers that get caught due to failure of covering up their tracks.

like any other criminals , some get caught and pay , some other stay under radar and profit .

On hacking bitcoin accounts , rarely hakers get caught , because major crypto compagnies not recognized by law , so they hesitate to make complaint because the nature of the activity

It is probably harder these days as a few years back. You will leave traces and the more money you made the more motivation for the police to find you. At least in Austria in the last years, the police got more and more people to a cyber unit. The main purpose is to locate those hackers.

I had a lot of security at the university (informatics). There are a lot of ways to cover your tracks. Anyway there are a lot more where you can fuck up.
