Title: Is it worth using bitcoins anymore for gambling ?
Post by: erpbridge on July 21, 2017, 12:29:10 AM
I feel my bankroll management and savings all are highly unstable. Can go up or down by storing money in bitcoin to gamble. Some form of betting like poker requires good bankroll management and with value changing everyday, I don't see bitcoin as a good use for poker players and sportsbettors.

I don't think any issues because if BTC prices go up then I will bet a small amount of coins and if prices go low then they I will increase the bet amount. This is just based on what I'm doing but some people may have their own reasons not to use bitcoins but can use other altcoins to gamble. It all depends on individual preference.

For me it doesnt really matter at all about bitcoins changing price since anytime you can able to  set on dollar value regarding on your bets. The higher the value of bitcoins is really an advantage since you would only set lesser amounts of btc value,am i right? But well this thing does really depend on gamblers view about bitcoin if he would care too much on this matter.

i think there's should no issue about your bankroll management even bitcoin value keep fluctuating because your base is your bitcoin money
so you can still manage the amount of your bitcoin to bet and you can still enjoy the only thing that i'm thinking is when you are buying bitcoin
so it will be hard when you buy it with high value and withdraw it when the value fall down.

But the real world value isn't in bitcoin but in fiat. When I wish to use that money I would eventually be converting it to fiat and will be risking volatility to destroy my bankroll or perhaps make it more. But either way, it becomes a gamble.

I don't think you are right because here I am making money from such types of things , Holding the Bitcoin is more profitable but it all depends upon you that at which price you bought and holding in your wallet .
Here I myself have Bitcoin for long term investment when the price of the Bitcoin was at 1500$ and now see today I am at profit of around 60-70% and hopefully in the incoming years I will have 10-20 times more profit with this price that is going increasing .
And here in the bitsler like gambling online we can make big also but we need to do work with better stretagy because luck always not work when you are going in professional ways . Overall here I will not recommend anyone to play gambling like things to make money .

It will only be worth it if you are making a profit. With the value of btc we have this moment, it is sure worth it even .01BTC. If you are in a hurry coz of low amount of btc you're holding and want to get in at a high price, gambling is the only way.

It all depends on you, i mean you see bitcoin as what? Currency or investment if you see bitcoin as currency maybe is not good choosing bitcoin for gambling because from your point of view the currency should be stable.

If you already have bitcoin in your wallet bought from your cash then after that if the price of it increases then it is benefit to you and if you will bet with that high value bitcoin then you will benefit in the terms that you will earn high value bitcoin and will earn more with your limited money which you invested in the start. While if the price come to lower then it is really a matter to think. I think in the future that issue will be solved.

If you don't want to get affected by price volatility than you can store all your bitcoin in USDT when you don't gamble or bet and just move those USDT to BTC when you need it. 1 USDT price tends to remain 1 USD all time so you don't have to worry about losing anything in fiat value during huge price move.

If you worried about your bitcoins to be used in gambling try to gamble with some coins that are nonsense. There are a lot of casino's that are relying with alt coins and ready for acceptance of it.

I cannot see any issue in using Bitcoin in gambling.  I do not see any difference from using cryptocurrency and fiat money in terms of actual playing in the game.  When you lost you lost regardless of the type of currency you are using.  But in terms of easy transfer, it is worth using bitcoin since it does not require a third party like banks in transfering credits and we do not have to give out our identity just to play gambling games.

Comparing your bankroll with USD or fiat currency is not a great idea. If you feel the transaction to be slow, use a hotwallet for instant betting and reward. Use bitcoins as itself and compare to fiat only when you are buying or selling bitcoins.

I guess fluctuations of bitcoin prices has nothing to do with bitcoin denominated gambling environment. You 0.001 bitcoins will be same for ever.
If you are still into USD value based gambling (but dealing in bitcoins) then I guess it must the right time to switch over to other gambling sites where bitcoin denominated gambling is supported.

Otherwise you may need to stop gambling with cryptos as in near future all crypto currencies may go more volatile as per many speculations from experts. Plan up before it will become too late.

I think bitcoin is perfect for gambling. You keep your bankroll in bitcoin and think of it as bitcoin and not as dollars. Whatever happens to the FIAT value of bitcoin it won't affect you because you will have your bankroll in bitcoin. I never gamble with FIAT as that sucks and you have a lot of documents to fill up in order for your withdrawal to get approved. Even for poker bitcoin is perfect, you just have to stop thinking of bitcoin FIAT value changing almost everyday.

If you're reachung in from your own pocket and buying btc then gambling with it, it is pretty unstable as you won't have a consistent base capital for your gambling. If you're just earning btcs though, then i think there's nit much of a difference if you gamble with bitcoins. But for me nithing's really worth it when it comes to gambling except fir a few extra coins for simply the fun of it. I don't consider it worth it to gamble with a proper amount as i'd rather save or spend it in something a lot more important.

Yeah, I use only BTC to gamble right now and even if I use the other alts, my site converts it into BTC before I start gambling. I see that betting on sites like directbet wouldn't be much feasible because of the growing transaction fees and confirmation delays but all the other sites that accept deposits have been doing pretty well.

Nothing changed.
You just need to accept that your bankroll is in BTC and never compare its USD value.

E.g. if you have 1BTC roll, then 1% is exactly 0.01BTC, not its USD value from yesteday nor today.

Imagine you are gambling with Chinese yuan for example. Once you bought the yuan's, you have yuan's. Not USD.

It is still worth it, there's no adjustment from the gambling sites. It's in favor of them when the price of bitcoin is increasing. But the minimum and maximum betting size will not change. If you don't want to gamble in bitcoin then stop gambling.

The only thing you can do is ignore BTC price all together. You have a bankoll value in BTC (whatever that is), and you just use a % of that bankroll. That will not affect your bankroll management since it will all be done as if the coins only represented themselves, and had no $ value. You will lose or win money when the price fluctuates, but that will always happen when you are holing BTC, and there is nothing to do about that.

I don't see any issue here whatsoever because whether price increases or falls, the 1btc put into gambling bankroll still remains intact aside from those reduction that might come as a result of those winning but they are also gambling with btc which means it does not affect anything. I think where we all get it wrong is seeing btc in relative term to its worth in dollars to determine whether the fund is increasing or decreasing.

I quite don't get what you mean by your words, but for me betting with my bitcoin is perfectly fine, sometimes the fees do make me think but then I increase my bets so I can earn higher and make more money, plus it's easier to hide my earnings and be safe with Bitcoins, rather than with Fiat I am at a big risk, and I don't like that, they leave a paper trial and it's get risky, with Bitcoins I play behind a mask, a number and they can't reach me or link the money to Bitcoins so I prefer that.

of course, the value of the bitcoin is matter. for suppose if the value of the bitcoin is $1 will you place your bet 0.01 BTC or 1 BTC? The gamblers will bet bitcoins, but before placing any bet, they calculate how much value of BTC they are going to bet. Now I think it is not worth to play gambling with your bitcoins. Becasue it is too expensive.

Nowadays, 0.01 BTC could be a good amount if we converted it into fiat. The other challenge comes to us, whether we will convert it now or hold it till some period of time. As you said, this become new type of gambling for us. But for myself I prefer to pick the middle way. Convert small part of our bitcoin and hold the other part for future use.

As the price move up significantly, I saw a lot of gambling sites, sportsbooks for example, already adjust their min betting to reflect the price changing. Hence, this shouldn't affect our money management.

Definitely not !
BTC value can greatly change in a very short periode of time .
You can end up loosing a lot more than you win.
Using real currencies is better i guess .

You can vary the amount of bitcoins you bet with if the price changes. In general I agree that it's not wise to waste a large amount of your bitcoins on gambling.

Gambling is most likely going to cause you to lose money so if bitcoins become very valuable in the future, any losses are greater down the road. I just gamble with very small amounts so I don't lose too much.

Yes due to the reason that gambling is not considered as a good habit in the society most of the gamblers use bitcoin to hide their identity so that they don’t come across any social problems. However when they don’t want to expose themselves as a gambler they go for bitcoin gambling sites which are quite easy to use without any hesitation. In such cases the bankroll doesn’t matters at all.

What difference does it make to you?
Suppose you are gambling with money you can afford to lose, bitcoin is money so you are gambling with bitcoins you can afford to lose.
I don't see difference here between gambling with btc or money.

What's with you? The value is actually the same. It is only the situation that bitcoin has ups and down but actually the decision to take bankroll is in you. When it is in down then it is time for you to lower your bet, the kind of management of bankroll. BTC is always the same as dollar when you stored dollars their is possibilities that the economy will crush too. It is you who manage your bet not the btc will manage your bet. Bitcoin is worth for gambling.

You are not losing anything if you keep betting with constant bet size in the form of bitcoin you will ultimately have more in terms of fiat because bitcoin price always tends to increase over time.  ;)

It depends on what currency and type of gambling you actually play it is a part of bitcoin itself that the price goes down or goes up how people can earn from trading when the price is stable think of that. Also if theres no decrease and increase in bitcoin how can you make your profit become higher tho. wofgang is correct gambling is the easiest way to play with gambling without hassle.

Using altcoin you have a choice to bet a smaller amount if you use altcoin but i think is it ok even to bet a 1 sat in bitcoin the present price is 0.00002666 cents so i think its still cheap to bet using bitcoin but if you really want to stay long in gambling altcoin is a good choice because you can be bet below 1 sat to altcoin smallest amount..
But its still worth it to gamble with bitcoin mostly for those who are always betting high amount and getting the benifits of the price increase of bitcoin..

No not at all i see on a site like yolodice a person with a loss of 28 btc and that's not a small amount at all with 28 btc I'm sure i will be able to survive for 24 months with a normal life the fact he was at 5 btc profit which is really good but he kep getting addicted and started losing big time. With 28 btc equalling to almost 80000$ that's surely not a less amount

I think bitcoin  is not worth it to gamble. I treat bitcoin as a precious coin since it's quite expensive. I see bitcoin has a potential to increase its price bit by bit in future as the demand increases as time goes by. I think it would be better if we'll use bitcoin for trading na investing so we can take advantage of time.

Bitcoin or altcoin. It has been the same thing. Both of them have been highly volatile and not a good thing to gamble with, specially if you follow strict bankroll management.

Yes, it is worth using bitcoin for gambling. As a matter of fact, if you do not have real money, you can use bitcoin instead. However, I recommend not using all of your bitcoins. Save as much as you can because the bitcoin price is growing higher and higher. So, do not waste your time and bitcoin on gambling because you will regret it sooner or later.

If you really are into gambling I don't think you would really care if bitcoin is worth using for gambling. Because as long as you can profit from gambling then it's still good to go. That just my own interpretation of being a gambler myself before.

If you really are into gambling I don't think you would really care if bitcoin is worth using for gambling. Because as long as you can profit from gambling then it's still good to go. That just my own interpretation of being a gambler myself before.

So recently I had close to 3 btc on my bankroll after gambling for about an year. The value one month back was close to $7500. When the price dropped to 1800$ recently, the effective value came down to around $5400. I liquidated some of the amount. But that 2.1K drop was a lot for me to handle.

You might say that I can cashout after every bet. But then I will be giving up a big value in fees, and a lot of times I need to make a bet of a few hundred dollars.

I feel my bankroll management and savings all are highly unstable. Can go up or down by storing money in bitcoin to gamble. Some form of betting like poker requires good bankroll management and with value changing everyday, I don't see bitcoin as a good use for poker players and sportsbettors.

What are you even talking about ? What difference does it make what you okay with ? As long as it has value it doesn't matter what you gambling with. Bitcoin is not good for poker or betting because it goes up and down ? Are you serious ?

Ok then go to a fist betting site see if you prefer it and let us know.

indeed the value of your bitcoin will be change because it will following the price of movements for bitcoin itself but i think most of gamblers will not really care about the value of bitcoin because as long as they still can gamble i think they will never thinking the value of bitcoin but if you aren't sure gamble with bitcoin because the value always be change then i suggest if you won gamble convert all of your bitcoin immediately to dollar because it can be avoid change in value

Why not?
For example your bankroll is 100$ so with good bankroll management you will be able to play 2$ buy in tournaments.
100$ is something around 0.035BTC so you will play 0.0007BTC buy in tournaments.
If bitcoin price raise to $10K, your bitcoin bankroll will still remain 0.035 and you will still play 0.0007BTC tournaments, only thing which is different is that your balance will be higher in value, so in this scenario you could withraw 1/3 your money and you could still play 2$ buy in tournaments, which will now be 0.00025BTC.
If bitcoin goes down with value, well, you can play 0.0007BTC tournaments but their value will be smaller, but your bankroll in bitcoins will remain the same.
But isn't all that the risk of bitcoin itself?

Bitcoin will surely increase or decrease its price but still it primarily depend its price ito usd which you can anytime adjust the best if you do really like to just the thing you are doing wayback before on playing  gambling. If you are basing on an amount based on satoshi value then it would really be more if you do decide to stick on that way but if you want to adjust basing on dollar form then its possible which means its still worth for bitcoin to be used on gambling.

Yes ofcourse, but it depends on usage opportunity of Bitcoins or any other cryptos or fiat.
As for me, I f I indulge in sports related gambling, I can do it via fiat, but basically dice, poker, blackjack needs to be played using Cryptocurrency, Bitcoins and in many cases few altcoins as well.
There are very few gambling sites with limited to few types in my country, so have to use Bitcoins anyhow, if I want to gamble.

Well that is if you play a tournament and this only accounts for the buy in. But if you are playing just cash games or win a tournament. Then unless I cashout that btc into fiat immediately, that value could appreciate or depreciate based on Bitcoins price.

I dont think that the gamblers will see the bitcoin price and gamble. Even in bankroll management also you dont see price but how much bitcoin you are betting is only calculated. So what you are telling are not the correct way of using bankroll manage in sports betting or poker betting also. Bankroll management only see that how much bitcoins you invest and how you are splitting them and betting it.

Why would you convert to fiat? It really doesn't matter what the price is, it's all in your head. If you gambled 2 years ago with a fraction of a coin and ended up with 3 BTC it means you're good at this and the price shouldn't be a deterrent for you. Yes the price has dropped for a week or two but now it's back up, the holders and those who don't give a shit about bitcoin's value in USD win.

I am sure you wouldn't have said this, if the price instead of going up to 2800 had gone down to lower 1000s. Anyways I needed the money and I wasn't willing to take the risk with bitcoins rollercoaster. But that is exactly my point. You do have to take in another gamble with btc prices.

Most of the gamblers using Bitcoin because of the anonymity, and I don't see any problems regard to the volatility, if the price go up then I just bet smaller and if going down I bet bigger, it is just the matter on how you manage your bankroll, fluctuating is going to affect on your gambling bet but you still can play and enjoy your gambling
I agree people use bitcoin casino to avoid social conflicts which may rise due to certain reasons such as the underage people involved in gambling and people with families or in relations may keep it secret so they use bitcoin casinos which are anonymous. Also bankroll can be affected even when you are not gambling at a time. The bitcoin price volatility have its effect either positive or negative when converted into fiat.

Yeah, there are social conflicts with the underage issues and in reality even with gambling websites operating on fiat with fake identity one can make use of it avoiding age conflicts. I have started using bitcoin for gambling years back and soon after that I stopped using fiat for the same. This is all because of the ease of access and the real time settlement of bitcoin in a short which is not that effective with fiat. This gives a confirmation that bitcoin is worthy for gambling.

If we interested to play anonymously than bitcoin always will be our first choice for betting. I think price is increasing so high so it's time to think about our strategy what we are losing there but if we compare bet amount is fiat before throwing our money there and it is just for fun than nothing wrong to place bets with bitcoin.

Indeed, when the time I was a beginner I was using gambling to gain profit and the money I used was bitcoin. Now, I'm regretting that I used bitcoin to play gambling because my perseption upon bitcoin is precious that cannot be used in such kind of transaction like that.

Bitcoin is a financial medium that will certainly facilitate every financial transaction that we do. We can withdraw and deposit very easily.
Bitcoin gives us all the convenience, we can do it wherever and whenever we are. In online use bitcoin is much better than fiat.

Well you are going to gamble right? Why not gamble with the bankroll too? If the price goes up it will be a big win for you, And if the price goes down atleast you will have the same amount of btcs. You need to cash out at the right time, You need to gamble smart, If you are in gambling just for fun, these issues won't matter to you imo. That's my take on this issue.

As well as you loose the same the amount in gambling. If you do it fun or serious definetely you will loose the bitcoins you have with you. Instead simply invest the bitcoin in trading or mining and get the regular income with any issues. According to me gambling is worst option in bitcoin.

I don't think bitcoin is still #1 if we want to play anonymously. The transactions are too slow and I bet it makes people who won a lot really nervous when they have to wait for days till they get the reward. Not even mentioning the sum they lose on transaction fee. Moreover, bitcoin can't prevent from scamming. I believe nowadays other currencies are better for casinos, because the fees are not that high, smart contracts reassure that everything will be scam-free and it all proceeds very fast.

For me, it is more preferable to use fiat currency than bitcoin for betting in gambling. Fiat has a fixed price value compare to bitcoin. Bitcoin is so volatile that a sudden pump in its price can result into a huge gain in your money. Bitcoin’s price fluctuate up and down, unlike the fiat wherein the price is stable, a $100 is a $100 while a 1 BTC changes value and recently, it pumped again increasing up to $3000.

I do really think that using bitcoin for betting can result to a great loss in the future that is why whenever I gamble, I only used fiat and I limit the amount so I know when I should stop.

Gamble yeah, but with control. Poker is a combination of both skill and luck.

But bitcoin price swinging up and down isn't a gamble a poker player or sportsbettor would like to take, because it throws off any bankroll management.

Well, I think that it's better if you wouldn't convert how much BTC are you going to bet when gambling. It will just ruin the fun. Just keep in my that if the $ exchange of BTC is high, bet low on BTC. And if it's low, you can bet high BTC. You don't have to convert or even compute the value of your BTC before gambling as you said the value is unpredictable and unstable. So, don't even bother.

yes i also think that it is always worth to play gambling with bitcoin. some people think that as soon as the price of bitcoin is increasing it is becoming difficult for the people to play gambling with but to me i will say that it is up to you, if you want to play gambling you can play it with any amount. if the price of bitcoin is increasing i think you can reduce the the amount for which you are playing gambling and through this way you can maintain your limit for playing gambling.

Well i have to agree with you, anything which requires skill to win, an average Joe would prefer the stable option rather than the volatile one. The sane option is clearly fiat, if your countries allow it or unless you want to use btc just for fun of it.

But from what i have seen the Bitcoin gambling community doesn't factor in the price swings, due to the anonymity provided with Bitcoin. There are always pro's and cons and is dependent on the users whichever they think outweighs the other..

I think it is not a great approach to appreciate by those who work for the collection of bitcoin through various means. If someone is more into collecting bitcoin and don’t want to spend it in the current scenario. I think that person should be appreciated. Gambling with bitcoin seems to me like not only wasting your money but betrayal to your future. It makes a sense to say that bitcoin gambling is not good in long range.

If you don't want to get affected by price volatility than you can store all your bitcoin in USDT when you don't gamble or bet and just move those USDT to BTC when you need it. 1 USDT price tends to remain 1 USD all time so you don't have to worry about losing anything in fiat value during huge price move.
This is a good idea. It will keep safe enough your assets, if it is cash or bitcoin or alts they are the current assets, the USD is too stable that it will not lose its value while keeping the bitcoin you may have a fear to lose its value in near future. If you are concerned about a short term then USD is better and for a long term bitcoin is best.

It is still worth to use bitcoins because the value has increased and satoshi's will still be on the same track. Before you are thinking that 0.005 BTC is still a cheap amount of bitcoin but right now the price is high and you may think it's gold and you can now reduce it to lower amount. But if you don't want to do this, you can just simply use alt coins.

Yes before I use to bet min 0.005 BTC actually I will place 0.01 BTC when ever I play sports betting. Becasue I will get a decent return. But what you said it is right it becomes too costly if I convert 0.005 BTC to our fiat currency it is approximately one day salary for two years experienced IT people.  Now tell me is it fine to play gambling with Bitcoin?

Maybe you should stop converting.
If you do that anytime you will gamble then, you will really feel the loss every time you are making a bet.
Maybe you should look for one that is using the fiat system so that you could just exchange your bitcoin to USD if you feel a great loss with a bitcoin system gambling website.

As mentioned by many above, your bitcoin gambling bankroll should be seen and managed in terms of bitcoin only and not in terms of its changing fiat value from day to day price swings.

Aside from bankroll management, the other aspects of using bitcoin for gambling makes it more worth it than ever. Bitcoin allows you to gamble at micro stakes. It allows for relatively fast deposits and withdrawals. When you play on a bitcoin site, you don't put at risk any of your personal data such as name, ID, address, bank account, credit card, etc information.

If you are a profitable gambler, then gambling wioth bitcoin also becomes a good way of accumulating and increasing your bitcoin hodlings.

since gambling is not a productive or worth for me so I never choose to use Bitcoin regarding this purpose. I always want to keep away from gambling because of its addictiveness. so there is using Bitcoin is no more worthy, it is totally insane and worthless effort. if you are concern about your future then you must put some Bitcoin for the future purpose. it will bring a lot for you...

Some gamblers did it and quit gambling with BTC, but many gamblers are anonymous and aren't part of BTC community, they just want to play online with Crypto-Currency as their countries don't allow them to do it. So, they play, make their profit and convert to fiat, they don't mind to invest in BTC to make profit, to grow their funds, to play for real profit, many of them have money already in real life, they just want fun. So they continue using Bitcoins.

Actually the best way to gambling is by using crypto currency because there we have freedom and we can hind our real identity which I believe the most important thing to protect our interest. Some people do gamble without knowing if it's illegal or not so it's best to use bitcoin since we will not gonna face problems in the future to come. Also, we are helping building this industry and the more we patronize it the more it will progress.

That's correct  and there are even Altcoins that you can use in place of Bitcoin for quicker confirmations and low transaction fees. It's very good to gamble with cryptocurrencies because it offers you the luxury of anonymity and global accessibility.

Now tell me is it fine to play gambling with Bitcoin?
gamble using bitcoin always come with its risk , so you should really know what you are doing. i mean for example when you bought 1 bitcoin worth $2,200 and you successfully make it double to 2 bitcoin but then the price move up so fast up to $4,400 guess how much money you make during that volatile? yeah you have made $2,200 to $8,800 instead to $4,400 but vice versa when the price dumped half and so on.

I can see no point in using other altcoins. As you said yourself we can reduce our bets to lower amounts in BTC. Using other altcoins may arise confusion since we are used to BTC, I rather wouldn't do that.

In my opinions altcoins are even force. They face an even great amount of volatility and are only good to prevent spending that money on the fees.

And based on the trend, whenever bitcoins fall, so do altcoins. So you essentially end up with great swings.

Yes they are at par with Bitcoin except popularity. They confirms even faster and at lower competitive rates to Bitcoin and so I will use them until Bitcoin scaling issues are fixed probably by August 1.

Altcoins are currently confirming faster and with low transaction fees, I can testify of litecoins and dogecoins which confirms fast with almost zero transaction fees.

That is true but we are talking about using altcoins for gambling. Are they better to use for gambling, considering the fact that with gambling it is a good thing sometimes that you can't transfer the money on a gambling site immediately?

I believe that the bitcoins are designed to invest in the future to earn as much money as possible, and not for entertainment. With gambling too much loss and it is better not to risk coins.

Nope the Bitcoin is more used in online gambling site and these sites only base for this bitcoin. If they are not accepted Bitcoin then it will take a number of years to become popular and the price also we not see this much high. But I agree that losing Bitcoin in gambling is not good. Bitcoin is made for both entertainment and money. How you will use it is up to you.

I feel my bankroll management and savings all are highly unstable. Can go up or down by storing money in bitcoin to gamble. Some form of betting like poker requires good bankroll management and with value changing everyday, I don't see bitcoin as a good use for poker players and sportsbettors.

Yes. Bitcoin nowadays are the most used currency in gambling like dice games. You can convert your real money into bitcoin so that you have some capital in playing. Don't push yourself in a greedy mode playing. Watch out and be smart in playing.

In case bitcoin rise and you win you will have more profit. I adjust my bets, now in bitcoins I bet for less but in dollars amount is the same.
I saw some casinos are lowering minimal bets on dome games, same is with sport books. They need to do that in order to keep most of the gamblers on their site, high roles probably didn't even notice this rise. For them bitcoin price is better to go up and they wealth is going up as well when they win bitcoins.
Bitcoin gambling will be even more popular now when the price is high, you will see.

I can say that it's still worth it to use bitcoin when you gamble. But this is the strategy that I'm using, when the price of bitcoin is on top I gamble with bitcoin. So that I can minimize and maximize the amount of bitcoin that I bet. And when the price is starting to be at dip, I use alt coins for it. I'ts just a matter on where you are confident.

I am not saying bitcoin is not worth for gambling. I am just saying its not good for certain kinds of gambling like sportsbetting and poker where a bankroll management is an important part of the game. If you can't control your net worth due to the volatility, you are likely going to go down.

yes it is makes sense and quite reasonable for those people who takes gambling seriously and look at the bankroll every single time it is keep changing with bitcoin. you will feel completely get a lot of benefit or suffering a huge loss with the market volatility .

indeed it is not good , as we are looking for stable/ steady profit when doing bankroll management right? hard to answer this one , really a tough situation.

Bitcoin performs well in gambling, it always been, maybe I'm already used to it and haven't tried to do bets on other alts. But no matter what coins or alts it is when we bet we usually convert it to our own fiat or calculate it in our mind. Any can be used as long as were comfortable on it and we see more potential on it to win.

The reason bitcoin performs well at the moment is its ease of use and the anonymity factor since people don't like to gamble with real money and then have an eye on the profits from the government.
Anonymity I would say is the biggest reason. But it isn't going to be that way forever.

Interesting point! In regards to professional poker or sports betting bitcoin might be not that ideal currency, but you can exchange your bitcoin to a more stable coin like litecoin.

However, so far you had only advantages if your bankroll was in bitcoin since years and only if something bad will happen to bitcoin with a heavy decrease of its value, then you will have a huge loss and disadvantage for using it.

well its been a practice here in my country to question whether we are earning bitcoin coming from our gambling activity and if they find it out
they will freeze or suspend the account without further notice that's why i always use trading site to received my earnings out from my gambling

Well, seeing a bigger potential to win because of the using another crypto looks odd to me. How's that even connected, I mean the win chance and the type of altcoion you use? IMO it has nothing to do with the potential to win.

Move your funds easily from a casino to other casinos within a couple of minutes only.

Yes, regardless of whatever value bitcoin will be having, when considering the benefits we can enjoy with the bitcoin gambling against fiat gambling, will make any gambler to continue their bitcoin gambling even in the case of that they are spending more money.

I believe, in near time, gambling houses may go for enabling us to gamble with lesser than one satoshi also. If it is coming into practice, we will not feel that bitcoin gambling as an expensive one.

Before you are thinking that 0.005 BTC is still a cheap amount of bitcoin but right now the price is high and you may think it's gold and you can now reduce it to lower amount. But if you don't want to do this, you can just simply use alt coins.

I can see no point in using other altcoins. As you said yourself we can reduce our bets to lower amounts in BTC. Using other altcoins may arise confusion since we are used to BTC, I rather wouldn't do that.

There's no confusion if a gambler decided to use alt coins. Since the casino's are accepting alt coins for now there's no confusion with it. And if you think that it's not worth to spend bitcoins for your bets then don't bet with it. Just bet with what you feel what is better.

i will playing with altcoin because for me, bitcoin is really worth for just playing gambling. beside that, there is many altcoin which have cheap price like dogecoin that we can use as the bets. i think in future, there will be many altcoin is using for a bets in gambling site so we don't have to just use bitcoin for bets the games.

You are playing with alt coin and saying that bitcoin is worth you just for playing gambling? I can't understand you are supporting and saying that you play with alt coin because bitcoin is worth it for "just" only playing gambling. Not just in future there will be a lot of alt coins, look at the market already, there are hundreds of it.

I haven't understood that either. I think the main problem of posts like that by traderethereum is that apart from bad English they are not even trying to make their posts readable, they never double check what they have written.

Indeed there are hundreds, in fact there are more than one thousand altcoins already. But I don't think any of them is better than bitcoin to use for gambling.

Actually, I don't have an idea with regards to gambling matters yet bitcoin is more preferable in trading than in gambling. But on the other way around, maybe it will work on gambling but not really sure on it. It really depends also with the kind of gambling you partake in. We all know that gambling is more on fun than investment. Just keep your horses when gambling something.

I do not spend my bitcoins on gambling, because that this is a very valuable investment that I do not want to lose on entertainment. The preservation of bitcoin will bring profit, and gambling in most cases will cause a loss.

It is smart not to gamble if you are thinking bitcoin is an investment. However if you are indeed a gambler, bitcoins are the best currency to gamble with nowadays. Bitcoins are easy to gamble with since there is no prying eyes and it is easy to deposit and withdraw it without any problems. Unlike traditional methods with fiat, there is quite a lot of hassles.

I feel my bankroll management and savings all are highly unstable. Can go up or down by storing money in bitcoin to gamble. Some form of betting like poker requires good bankroll management and with value changing everyday, I don't see bitcoin as a good use for poker players and sportsbettors.

I'm agree with you, as I am owning a really small amount of Bitcoin to gamble, I find it worthless to gamble with Bitcoin as Gambling's profits are smaller than Bitcoin fees (I'm sure because I am using safe strategy to bet so that I get small profits)

Correct, I also gamble and I really do think that using bitcoin in playing gambling is a total waste of money. Bitcoin's market price is continuously pumping and I regret losing my bitcoins in gambling from the past months. If I could only turn back time, I would prefer using fiat money than bitcoin for those betting games that had cause me a lot. Anyways, I learned my lesson and I would prefer playing gambling with my family or friends to avoid those online gambling sites and to avoid using my bitcoin for betting. I still play online but I see to it that I also bet small amounts.

Feeling of regrets would really be feel by gamblers who do lost huge amounts of bitcoin back in the past on where they would think up on those lost bitcoin that it is already a big amount if you do convert as of todays price. We would really think of that we might be rich now if we didnt use those bitcoins on playing gambling but well its already late and theres nothing you can do now.

You can choose a lot of alt coins and just keep your bitcoins for the next years to come as you are treating it as your investment.

I don't think any issues because if BTC prices go up then I will bet a small amount of coins and if prices go low then they I will increase the bet amount. This is just based on what I'm doing but some people may have their own reasons not to use bitcoins but can use other altcoins to gamble. It all depends on individual preference.
Yes, people have different concepts on how they are going to manage their own styles in gambling. This is also why sometimes most gambler prefer to play with their bitcoins aside from it is hassle free it also doesn't need a lot of time to consume. Some gamblers also prefer to go to casino to play using fiat because they want to spend their time outside while some uses alternate coins to gamble. Some gambling sites also requires you to have a good bankroll.

as long as you smart enough to take an advantage from that situation.

It's ok i think. It seems like i don't think it's a problem, as long as there is luck in playing it is will be profitable for surely. Bitcoin is used for whatever it depends on a person's desire to use it, more fortunate the ways they chooses through which bitcoin they owns can produce more and more profitable when they used.

Yeah the fee is too high if you just want to have fun in some gambling sites.
Sending bitcoin right now has too much fee and also withdrawing some so I really don't think that I could still use bitcoin just for fun in gambling.
It is still worth , as the easy access that bitcoin given you will never see it in fiat.
Move your funds easily from a casino to other casinos within a couple of minutes only.
High fee counted because of the high price of bitcoin itself , we are still working on this right?
Yes, regardless of whatever value bitcoin will be having, when considering the benefits we can enjoy with the bitcoin gambling against fiat gambling, will make any gambler to continue their bitcoin gambling even in the case of that they are spending more money.

I believe, in near time, gambling houses may go for enabling us to gamble with lesser than one satoshi also. If it is coming into practice, we will not feel that bitcoin gambling as an expensive one.
Yeaaa those people who talking about how gamble using bitcoin is not worth anymore is the one who have narrow minded.
I mean when you really know how bitcoin works you won't feel it as a big deal.
It is even give them a lot of advantage , people just not yet get used to it.

I believe after segwit only tx fees may get reduced (it seems already a lot of improvement in reducing tx fees as only less than 5k transactions are in mempool unconfirmed now a days). But the value of bitcoin will remain same to make us to have secondary thoughts about gambling with least amounts like 1000 satoshi or even 100 satoshi.

Before people do spend 0.001 for gambling more freely but now it values more than $2.5 so throwing away ~$2 is bit hard to anyone imho.

Yes it's worth to gamble with bitcoins, I don't see why price of bitcoin is important. Simply you know how much bitcoins you have and by your bankroll you determine your bets. There is other way, you know how much you can spent in dollars but in this way when ever the price is rising you need to lower the bets and you are on the same.
I support what other people say, bitcoin price can go up but then our win is higher in dollars. That is great for long term gamblers, addition to that if you save a bit from every win one day you will have thousands maybe millions in that saving.

Yes. Imagine that you won 1 bitcoin and its value right now is $2000. After a year it became $4000. Betting with bitcoin is more profitable than fiat because it is rising every now and then. Just continue to win and keep those bitcoins because it will make you filthy rich someday.

Depends on the person who gamble. It is worth for me using bitcoin for gambling if at the end Im lucky enough to win game. I must say worth it all if Im winning the game even price is rising and much better than fiat.

You should imagine the worst possibilty as well because its value can be down to the hell, who knows? It is OK to believe that bitcoin will reach $4000 in a year but dont be too confident. Imagine if it drop down back to $100? Of course we wont hope that, but anything is possible in this crypto world.

Bitcoin price volatility is not an issue for the casino because the payout for all the winnings is in bitcoin too so it means that fiat value is not major issue. The second point it as long as they have a regular player which spends a sufficient volume then their casino will still run.

Yeah you're not talking about the dollar rate of btc when you gamble. If you've been gambling with btc before, pretty much it would be the same as now. The risks are the same and you're either going to lose or win the same amount of btc regardless of its exchange rate.

People do gamble with bitcoin because only with bitcoin payments they are enjoying certain benefits. I am not sure we can get those benefits with cash payments to gambling. Moreover gambling sites are hating bank cards/PayPal kind of payment methods due to increased abuse by reversing after enjoying gambling.

Right now the price of bitcoin is 3100. Which makes the fees around 4$. Even worse reason for using bitcoin to gamble. I feel to find a viable use in the future, the protocol needs to work on decreasing the fees to take care of the high fees.

It seems to me that enough is already enough that a gambler brings money into a game of chance. And Bitcoin is better left to the future, As a guarantee that a person gambling will not be left without a penny in his pocket. The fact is that gambling is very cruel and it does not leave any financial opportunities for a person. Therefore Bitcoin should be the guarantor of your financial stability.

Prices of bitcoin is rising and it reached 3170$ per btc. So if you had gamble with btc say at 2800$ today it would have worth 3160 and if you had played with cash it would have still remain same. SO this justify that playing in cash is much better than playing in btc from now onwards. The demand seems to rising now and so is the price.

high value come with high fee , sounds like fair enough isn't it .

now the problem are the transaction won't really worth if you do it in smaller amount . you can still use low fee but yes it takes days to be confirmed which it is never be a good situation. bitcoin aren't worth anymore for those people who are not a high roller , that is what i think.

I have no problem with the fee as long as the network will be faster, bitcoin's price will continue to rise and fees will follow but with the convenience it gives to us we do not think of the fees already. And with the segwit implementation that network will be faster and fees will be lesser so I am looking forward it will make us happy as we continue to support bitcoin.

Fees might affect or not a certain gambler because there are really times that we do pay up high fee but still we do need to wait for hours just like i did experience on previous months as far as i remember but same as you said fees wont really matter at all as long we can able to make fast confirmation transactions and also if we do have enough winnings those fees wont really bother at all.

Definitely if the profit is greater than investments, transaction fees are nothing then. Bitcoins’ transaction fees do sometimes become hurdle in order to pursue with gambling. In short, I believe that using bitcoins for gambling is nothing to be worried about.

I feel my bankroll management and savings all are highly unstable. Can go up or down by storing money in bitcoin to gamble. Some form of betting like poker requires good bankroll management and with value changing everyday, I don't see bitcoin as a good use for poker players and sportsbettors.

I don't think it's a problem. If the bitcoin's price goes up, just lower your base bet and vice versa. bitcoin is just a currency, and it should be considered as cash, at least in gambling

Usually there's minimum bet in sportsbook and with the price increase maybe such minimum bet will be too big for some people. But I am sure, most casinos will decrease it to reflect the price changing. So, using bitcoin shouldn't be a problem.

Bitcoin shoudn't be a problem for a gamblers therefor gamblers who want to become anonymous with there identity will help them more to hide and free to play with bitcoin unless they want to pay extra fees just to go to physical gambling where they can be charge lots bitcoin has also potential to grow it self and become increase more than the original price .

It is worth it to use bitcoin in gambling. It all started there and it will always be remaining in the number 1 choice of every gambler. No way to think about bitcoin to be not worth it anymore upon using it for bitcoin gambling. You just have to make sure that you can afford to lose the amount you are gambling.

its too worth if using bitcoin for gambling because i think its better to use altcoin because there is many option that we can used or we can buy altcoin in exchanges and then we can send the altcoin into gambling place. beside that, in this conditions now, its better to hold and save our bitcoin because the price still increasing its a good time to sell our bitcoin.

The minimum bet won't change, but the amount of the minimum bet if you are going to convert it into fiat is going change since the bitcoins price is keep on going up. The gambling site could make more huge bankroll just because of this price increasing of bitcoin, so if you have enough money to make a gambling site, then make one, but of course, everything must be planned before implementing it.

Correct the Bitcoin price will affect if we use it in gambling. We will place a bet based on the price of the bitcoins. We will fix one amount in our mind but if the price increase means it's not possible especially low amount bets. So alt coins are best to do online gambling. Playing gambling with Bitcoin is not worth.

Since btc value now when converted into fiats were really huge amount to used in gambling. Plus that btc value keeps on increasing so we better hold it and we can play on alts that are avilable to us but if only btc we have then still can play with it ,this were almost all casinos accepted first we just hope that we win and limits pur beta as much as we could.

Yeah i don't think it matters whether you're using btc or fiat since most likely, we'll be thinking of bitcoin's fiat equivalent when we gamble with it. So it's really the same.

the point of this topic actually discussing about how high the value bitcoin , how the volatile price effecting your winning value . current and the future value , as when you have 1 bitcoin worth $1,000 make it double to 2 bitcoin but the price gets dropped half which means $500 per 1 bitcoin so your 2 bitcoin now have $1,000 value. it's feel like useless and wasting time indeed when the drops happened. just luckily the price recently keep increasing.

In my opinion it is not worth it to gamble out your bitcoins because of the reasons that you just stated. The price of bitcoin tomorrow might be higher compared today. But either fiat or bitcoin, it is better to gamble your cash due to its constant price and easier access compared to bitcoin. Lastly, gambling out your bitcoins will only result to a negative impact on your part since fiat is easier to get compared to bitcoin.

yes that is why the price day by day recently continue rising , looks like people become more confident holding bitcoin. we are ready heading for the future of money and the future of gambling currency will be bitcoin obviously i think .

just be a little bit more patient waiting for that time to come , and there won't be a words like "is it worth or not" anymore.

Wouldn't you rather use another altcoin which is equally easy, you don't have to worry about your identity and the payout and the blockchain confirmation is even faster, plus there isn't a 4$ fees like bitcoin does.

Worth or unworthy of Bitcoin is used for gambling again it's in my opinion depending on each person who owns it and use it to gambling again or not. Perhaps for those who have often used bitcoin for gambling, is worth it like as usual with the target or strategy it has to playing again in gambling it. But for who not too addiction to gambling it seems will being a lot of consideration to using it again for gambling.

Yeah of course to those who were addicted with it I guess they don't really care on how that mode of gambling will be as long as they wanted what they desire for. That's an advantage compared with fiat gambling because it's handy and not like cash type of money like in our country those kock fighting gamblers who directly use that fiat cash money.

I feel my bankroll management and savings all are highly unstable. Can go up or down by storing money in bitcoin to gamble. Some form of betting like poker requires good bankroll management and with value changing everyday, I don't see bitcoin as a good use for poker players and sportsbettors.

I don't think that it is big problem. When bitcoin price go to high then do small bet and when bitcoin price go to down than do bet with big price. It is depend on you, how to use your bankroll and manage it with bitcoin price. Actually, it is matter for poker and sport betting gamblers, So if we have control on our bankroll and use small and big bet with the price of bitcoin, than may be we will handler it.

Bitcoin is highly fluctuating, for this that we need is a good money management skill. Only with that bitcoin can be used in an effective manner for gambling whether it's poker, sports betting or other forms of gambling does not matter. In my view playing with bitcoin is found to be good and I always prefer gambling with bitcoin because of the ease it provides.

I am not sure that your luck will change if you change the casino site to play. And now already all sites are starting to accept altcoins to play gambling. Becasue players are not spending their bitcoins to play gambling. The value is high, so casinos also understand this and allowing people to play with altcoins. Except for few casinos, all casinos will accept altcoins.

As far as I know most of the gambling site now in this industry are using bitcoin as payment. I just don't understand exactly what your trying to intend on this things. Even the the price value is upside down, whatever kind of games you are playing for you can still bet at small amount of satoshi so that you can minimize your loss anyway.

Gambling sites do accept bitcoins as payment because it will give them more benefit in long terms.
If someone is smart then he can get the benefit also instead of just giving it away. The price of bitcoin will rise in future and it may even touch 7k dollars by the end of this year. Even if he uses little satoshis, he is still in loss.

Only an idiot will risk the most expensive currency in gambling. I am not even in the favor of this game but if somebody is really desperate to try it out, then I suggest him going with altcoins or fiat. I believe, bitcoins can have some other meaningful usages. It’s better to give bitcoins to charity than gambling.

People who are making great efforts in earning even a small part of bitcoins will never prefer to risk their bitcoins by loosing it in gambling as everyone is well aware how hard it takes to earn bitcoins so a smart person will never waste his coins in gambling and will prefer to invest it in trading from where he can make good sum of money on timely basis.

Crypto coin is a whole lot easier to gamble with for some of us. With bitcoin It is possible to gamble anonymously, and quickly.  I would say it's much more convenient.  The crypto coin gambling sites aren't under regulation and such things.

The problem is that there are people who are using their hard earned money in gambling because they think there are strategies giving full profit on long term. So they "invest" all their money in a big Dice bankroll and start betting with different strategies, increasing the bet on losses until they lose all their money. Only after they discover gambling is unprofitable on long term they stop doing this, but then it's too late, as they have already lost all their hard earned money... If the intention is to keep wealth, just hold Bitcoins, worth much more than gamble with this.

But if money isn't a problem for you, keep gambling and having fun.

The concern would be the transaction fee when sending bitcoin to the gambling site and the value or worth of your fiat converted to bitcoin though its still your control but the numbers of bet that you can be done with smaller value in bitcoin  but my position still remain that bitcoin is really an easy passage way to gamble online.

I feel my bankroll management and savings all are highly unstable. Can go up or down by storing money in bitcoin to gamble. Some form of betting like poker requires good bankroll management and with value changing everyday, I don't see bitcoin as a good use for poker players and sportsbettors.

Almost all gambling site in this industry are using bitcoin to make all the gamblers/players be able to play inside the site. And I don't see any wrong with because most of the owner of gambling site are using bitcoin due to they can avoid taxes to their business. That's what I think about it.

Nope , it ain't , since when betting and losing you'll lose the amount you betted with and the potential value gained in time since BTC value is in constant decrease .
