Backstory:
The date is January 3, 2109, and it has been exactly 100 years since Bitcoin’s genesis block was mined. A lot sure has transpired since then. With a market capitalization of just under 100 trillion US dollars, Bitcoin has become the world’s reserve currency. There effectively isn’t anyone in the civilized world that doesn’t know what Bitcoin is or anyone that hasn't used Bitcoin at some point in their lifetime.

The considerable success Bitcoin inevitably achieved since its inception has resulted in ever-growing complexity surrounding the path Bitcoin development should take. Consensus cannot be established as to the future of the Bitcoin protocol, and Bitcoin has once again entered extremely hostile and volatile territory as the complexity (and mudslinging) intensifies. A “civil war” of sorts has broken out among Bitcoin’s market participants, and everyone is choosing a side!

The miners are focused on increasing the block size in order to keep as many transactions as possible on the blockchain to make sure mining stays as profitable as possible. The stakeholders are interested in changing the proof of work algorithm to one that can only be mined on GPUs so that Bitcoin mining can be more decentralized than it is with ASIC mining. The press is engrossed in implementing several highly experimental features (and creating many forks) to increase revenues from the extra attention that the ensuing hysteria generates. The developers are keen on developing and implementing a much improved “second layer” that will reduce transaction fees, increase the speed of irreversible transactions, and bring additional features to Bitcoin.

The first faction to obtain enough power within the Bitcoin ecosystem will get their way. Until then, things will likely get real ugly…

Which side are you on?

I am interested in connecting with those interested in tradable card games. I have an outline of the design, including a backstory, objective, rules, rarity, expansion plans, and prospective cards. All of which is very premature and subject to change. I am looking for people who are interested in helping me test and change the design/gameplay/rules/cards. We already have a group formed that are working on the game. PM me if you think you may be interested.

We now have a website and a Twitter account:

Website: https://www.cryptohun.ch/
Twitter: @CryptoHunch (https://twitter.com/CryptoHunch)

The new website provides additional clarity to the idea and the project including how to play the game.

The game is already in development, but an alpha is not yet ready. Just putting the finishing the matchmaking algorithm now...

Happy Holidays!

Well, for example, would I be interested in the first question about the project license as a player? Since I always check it.
Then how are the funds deduced?

Haha. I was excited because I thought someone replied. But it was a bot...  :'(

I have most of the non-game parts of the web site functional with a lot of information. I am working on the matchmaking algorithm now.

The first iteration, Pre-Alpha 0.1, will just be a quick hack to test gameplay. Everything will be made pretty later.

We are making it a point to heavily comment the source code so that new developers can easily jump in and pick up where we left off. There will come a time when we push the game out of our nest and let it fly away. 😏

There are a lot of updates to share, as I have made a lot of progress since my last post.  :)

The trading cards are essential to the game because obviously... it is a trading card game. I completed the Card Explorer. You can view the game cards, and filter them by owned/unowned cards, the different card packs, or individual cards. This code has been completed.

Deck building will be an essential part of the game's skill element. I completed the Deck Builder. You can create decks with custom labels, add and remove cards from each deck, change the deck's label, and delete the deck. The cards are filterable by the same filters the Card Explorer is (owned/unowned cards, the different card packs, or individual cards.) This code has been completed.

User Profiles where you can publish information about yourself, choose a username and avatar, and link to your social media profiles. Other than gameplay statistics, this code has been completed.

The User Profile is also where you will integrate the game server with the Bitshares blockchain. By signing a memo with a Secret Key generated by the server, it allows the server to ensure you own the Bitshares account in which you will store your card game assets. After the one time setup, the game can query the blockchain at the start of each game to see what cards and card packs you own. This code has been completed.

I am not moving on to programming the game itself and the gaming engine. I estimate that it will take a few weeks until the alpha version is ready for a *closed* alpha test. I will announce when and where to apply for the closed alpha test at that time.

Cheers  :)
