Title: How to set up second video card in Ubuntu (using polcbm)
Post by: ensign_lee on June 21, 2011, 05:20:32 AM
Hey y'all,

I'm having troubles setting up my second video card in Ubuntu. It constantly says "Verification Failed. Check Hardware" when I try to mine using the polcbm miner. First card has no problems whatsoever, but second one...not so much.

I'm just re-using my same polcbm structure from the first worker (which is working) except changing the last line to reflect the new worker name and password. Is there something else I should be changing?

I'm an idiot for Ubuntu but did you set the device path? IIRC 0.1 would be the first device? 0.2 second? I wish there was a noob friendly tutorial for idiots like me. I've gone through the Natty Narwahl tutorial but it fails to mention (in the OP at least) how to set up poclbm. How do you set up a wallet in Ubuntu? Use your current one? How do you download the blocks? I have so many "noobish" questions. Currently in Windows and running ok but would like to run Ubuntu in a virtual machine. Good luck. I hope someone responds to you (and me if I'm lucky).

Did you set up xorg's config so that the drivers know where to FIND the card?

Perhaps if you post in the ALTCOIN/GPU areas instead of Bitcoin which is ASIC-only you might find an answer?
Just a suggestion... ;)
