Hey everyone,

Myself and a small team of developers are working on a space sim game. The game is set in the far future where the economy is completely run on top of blockchain Tech. By playing the game people will learn about blockchain tech and how it can influence the world around them.

Items in the game will exist on the blockchain and be tradable in game as well out of game.
Accounts will be tokens on the blockchain and tradable.

We are looking for feedback on these ideas and would love community input. Please leave feedback and if you want we have a short 6 question survey.

The concept sounds fantastic and could help bring public awareness to the Blockchain, which would increase its adoption.

Do you have an approximate timeline yet?

A demo of the game is about half way done. Unfortunately development has been slow because we all have full time jobs as well. I think if there is enough interest in the idea we can get something off the ground sooner.  We will be reaching out to people that leave their emails with the survey for play testing when its ready.

I like that. You should find good big team and make this project.

If the platform is PC then you should do your best to add to Steam that could bring a lot of new users and I believe the whole point from making this game is to bring the blockchain technology to more people. The game should be free but you still can charge some small amounts for some in game items. If it's for mobile then If the game become successful, It won't be hard to place ads on the game. In the meantime, you can share pictures about the game so players know what to expect.

I like the idea. It's a good chance to study and have fun in the tradebale environment at the same time ;)

Sounds educational and fun, seems like a great idea. Personally, I think games related to bitcoin can succeed only if they provide an incentive to earn btc but I could be wrong. All the best.

sounds like a great idea, the problem i have with most games is that you cant sell tokens and coins for real money

I agree with people replying before me. Seems like a great idea but games related to bitcoin can only succeed if they provide an option to earn btc. Nowadays everyone wants free or easily earned btc, even if it is only a couple satoshis :P

I don't want anything. But if you were serious you would offer those who gave good advice or took your survey $.

I used to play games like https://www.bat.org/ which was highly addictive and they had a very good in-game economy. I

would like to see something like that being done in the future with Bitcoin. Good luck with your project.  ;D

Simple truth - the more games about blockchain, bitcoin, the alternative economy we will have the better.
What bothers me slightly is the fact whether these game projects reached sufficient maturity.
I mean a lot of crappy games won't bring bitcoin/blockchain that level of popularity we need to achieve and they might damage the view people have about cryptocurrency.

I'm making a crypto-themed game right now and am trying to add actual bitcoin functionality (for example letting players win some btc) but the problem is that there are not a lot of tools out there for this type of thing yet.

If anyone has successfully gotten bitcoin or any other token working in a Unity game for example I'd love to hear how it was done.

That's a delusion "Blockchain Game will attract more people to the system".Infact if it's boring,even the blockchain lovers won't like it.The games I've played till date based on blockchain or bitcoins were terrible.Boring UI's,uninteresting concepts and lack of players obviously.I don't know how that helped more people introduce to blockchain.

Letting players win some BTC will only attract members who scum for satoshi's and not the actual gaming crowd who love to play games regardless of bitcoins or rewards.

What kind of game would it be graphics wise?
Are you planning on making this into a text/turn based game or are you going to make something with nice graphics and effects?

The concept itself is pretty interesting, but your description is also very vague.
