Title: BCC ticker name
Post by: koltregaskes on July 27, 2017, 03:48:50 PM
Forgive me if I'm mistaken but isn't the potential new Bitcoin Cash currency have the same ticker as BitConnect, i.e. BCC?

In reality, an exchange can call any coin whatever they want from what I understand.

They would just add some letters to it. Other coins on exchanges have 4 or 5 letters in their name. BCC will probably get called BCASH.

Well, they must have overlook the fact that there is already a coin using the ticker BCC which is my favorite BitconnectCoin ( a very resilient and active coin backed by a strong community built by Bitconnect.co). Anyway, there are so many ways to create a ticker so probably they would be using another one once Bitcoin Cash can be officially born into the cryptocurrency world.

I'm sure they'll change it but BCC does seem to be the ticker news sites are using.

Even some exchanges are using the BCC ticker name but the new BCH name seems to be the better choice.

it doesn't really matter. there is no standard for naming altcoins. there are multiple duplicate names in the world of altcoins which can cause a lot of confusion. BCC is just one in the many. and people seem to prefer this name instead.

the only thing having a standard is bitcoin which has the XBT (as the International Standard Organization ISO suggests) as its standard short from which not that many are using, people stick to BTC most times.
