I suppose you meant and should rephrase your post as Bitcoin recognized as a currency or not. If it is recognized as any form of money one is liable for paying tax on that and you wanted a vote to know what others think. In my opinion, I would vote that Bitcoin better not be recognized as a currency or any form of asset by my government.

Might be that what he was trying to point out is that  if btc does not break any codes and protocols in the web.

It is legal but in someays it can be illegal depending on how someone advertises btc. But off course some issue is the identity. Some people might be using btc to fund things that can harm the anyone but in most cases in just gives opportunity to anyone smart enough in investing. I may have seen sites that was shut down on related to btc but that is for a different violation.

Of course legal and illegal bitcoin depends on how to use it, if anyone says that illegal bitcoin may be caused by people using bitcoin for crime transactions. But in general bitcoin is used for business purposes because bitcoin is very useful if we have knowledge about the use of bitcoin well.

if we talk about bitcoin its self, i recomended to be illegal, no people can interference bitcoin, no one can stop any transaction, and no one can ask tax for my money.
but if we talk about the transaction of bitcoin, i m sure no one interesting to support illegal activity like terorism etc.

I will say its legal cause I use it in every good form I can use my normal country's currency. Bitcoin is said or looked at as illegal because most people use it for illegal activities, but if we all use it for every legal reasons, then the illegal part will be looked out.

A lot of people who is trying to leverage the digital currency especially the bitcoin. Bitcoin is the mother of all digital currency and it is legal. It becomes illegal because of the people doing the PONZI scheme and they educate people by using the term BITCOIN. The only way for us to identify what is legal or not is to educate more ourselves and help educate other people to learn more about BITCOIN. BITCOIN is a breakthrough currency right now.

It all depends on the jurisdiction. Bitcoin in some countries is already quite legal, but not in others.
But the key point is that all the fiat currencies were initially tied to the state, where they are emitted. With crypto it is different. Therefore, crypto will never be legal everywhere.

bitcoin is a new invention and cryptography and digital currency. Some Body accept and some body could not accept because some country govt say bitcoin Illegal and bitcoin bad effect for his country and at the some time some country accept and legalize.. some country people can not use bitcoin because it's crime to use it.

So we can not 100% sure is it bitcoin legal or illegal .

We Still Hope bitcoin will legalize for every country .

Thank you

Bitcoin is built with an innovative system as the first digital currency and has highest value in crypto market of course with the aim of improving the economy of each user, but in fact there are some users who deliberately exploit the weakness of bitcoin for various crimes, perhaps based on these things have Causing an unfavorable government response to bitcoin legality, but currently legal or illegal bitcoins, do not have a big impact on bitcoin progress as well as rising prices.

The legality of Bitcoin depends on the jurisdiction. In countries such as Singapore, Australia, Japan and South Korea, the currency is 100% legal. However in certain countries such as Thailand and Iceland, it is illegal.

I have no specific problem here in my country regarding Bitcoin because our government is looking at is as like any foreign money so that exchange and wallet providers have to be registered as foreign remittance business. The government is taxing us per transaction just like foreign exchange but Bitcoin holders are not yet urged to declare their income out of their cryptocurrency holdings.

We even have our local wallet provider that is connected our earning through banks and remittance centers.

Yeah the local wallet is our way to earn our bitcoin through the real money, and its legal, because in any transaction there is a deduction, maybe in other country its not approve by law but we do not do anything wrong to say that it is illegal. So as long as we do it in a Good way and don't scam I think it's legal.

There are some countries where Bitcoin is illegal. As I don't know your country. So, it would be tough to tell. You should add one more option in your poll of neither legal nor illegal. Majority of countries don't have any rule on Bitcoin. People can use it without any restrictions. But government or a country as whole doesn't accept it as a legal tender in that country.

Bitcoin is property, a governmental non consideration at the least and an actually currency at the most. I don't think bitcoin itself can be illegal or legal itself, unless you mean it's prohibited in said area, which is pretty rare. Coins can be tainted, or essentially associated with a known criminal activity. That would make them evidence and subject to confiscation; but the coins themselves are still legal property/tender/whatever. You also would have be Ken no crime if you can demonstrate how you obtained the coins.

Legalizing bitcoin in one country is not that much on impact for me. It only gives the government an options for taxation and regulations and even prone to corruption in the long run. It is better this way that most country is just ignoring bitcoin for now. But in due time I know it will eventually.

For me, what we do here to collect, get, and store bitcoins is a legal job. Although bitcoin is not yet legal in my country, but the government in my country is not concerned about the existence of bitcoin, since bitcoin has been used in one of the territories in my country and it works well and there is no resistance from the state government and the local government.

In my opinion, Bitcoin should be legal, it can completely replace the FIAT. With the legal Bitcoin, we can go anywhere, buy anything do not need visa, do not need money cash. Very convenient to travel or trade. I firmly believe that Bitcoin will be the common currency of the world in the coming years.

Legalizing bitcoin is not any of my problem but the need to study by one government. As long as I believe that what I do is not associated with criminal activity I'm safe. I don't need to wait for a law to tell me what I do is right or wrong. What matter is what you believe in, what matters is what is right and what matters is my family that I've supported through this.

Bitcoin is legal or illegal, I do not know. yes may depend on the consideration of its users. Some people recognize Bitcoin entirely as a currency, some only consider it a financial instrument, and some allow it with special warnings, and some also provide legal status by default because there are absolutely no rules made about Bitcoin. Although most of them still enjoy the benefits of bitcoin decentralization, the attitude of government or regulatory bodies against it. remains an important influence, especially for its future sustainability.

I think if bitcoin has clear legality it will certainly allow faster bitcoin development because of government support for bitcoin advancement.
But so far it does not become an obstacle to the development of bitcoin of course with the passage of time either the popularity or the legality of bitcoin will be realized.

bitcoin gives people such a good impact. so, there's no reason to make bitcoin illegal in my country. Well, although I know, there are still some people who use it for their own benefit, and do illegal transactions, but nowadays, bitcoin has more good effects than bad ones. so, of course it's legal.

It depends on the country. Some goverment have adopted legislation that makes Bitcoin illegal. In some parts, Bitcoin is legal.
But most of the countries haven't take any action for the bitcoin.

Title: Re: Legal bitcoin or illegal bitcoin

I think that most countries will in a near future create legislation on bitcoins. I believe it will be perhaps related to the amount of importance they gain in their economics and their necessity to control the transactions and taxs, mostly when people exchange bitcoins for the using currency and do businesses with it.
In counties where many companies accept BTC as a payment method, governments will definitely have the necessity to legislate.
As to being legal or illegal, just like it happens now with all existent currencies, it depends on whether they are used to legal or illegal transactions and operations. The problem with BTC, I think, is that they are more difficult to track by the authorities, thus of course legislating will always try to reinforce this control.

That's right. It depends on where you are residing if bitcoin is illegal or not. Many people doesn't know bitcoin yet and their government is not yet alerted by the growing community of crypto users in their country thus it doesn't make it legal or illegal but in the context that it is not yet declared illegal in your country means it is presumably legal and if you observe that bitcoin is use freely in your country then it would be good for you.

There are countries that declared bitcoin illegal because they are worried their countrymen would make crypto as a means of doing something illegal like selling drugs, firearms or supporting terrorism and some media outlets reiterate in their viewers that bitcoin is use by people doing something illegal. There are countries that declared the legality of bitcoin and collect taxes to people that have income from it.

It will still be a long time before there are major regulations relating to bitcoin. Even the US has auctioned off bitcoin from silk road many times. I do however see judges and cops have a sort of bias against cryptocurrencies, as if they just assume it is used for drugs or something.

It should be legal bitcoin because it is more trusting it if it is legal and does not take into account that it is the choice. The bitcoin image will be beautiful if it is legal and it is connected to the government. If bitcoin becomes illegal, no one really trusts it. And it is important that bitcoin be legal.

bitcoin is not illegal unless your using it wrong and doing it on illegal things like buying drugs or arms/guns on the darknet or deepweb, but its just fine and safe if your gonna use it only in buying things online and paying someone online or offline although there are still country that restricts using bitcoin. and i dont agree with you that it should be put tax on bitcoin because the transaction fees is high enough and it is just like the tax in bitcoin.

Bitcoin is of interest to law enforcement agencies, tax authorities, and legal regulators, all of which are trying to understand how the concurrency fits into existing frameworks. The legality of your bitcoin activities will depend on who you are, where you live, and what you are doing with it.

We know that in some country bitcoin is illegal and some country legalize bitcoin as their alternative currency. I don't why bitcoin is illegal in some country in asia maybe because crypto currency is a big threat to national banks and local banks that's why they banned bitcoin. But for me, as long as you know that you earn your bitcoin in a good way or by working with it I think there no problem with that as long as you exchange it to a legal exchange site to convert it to real money.

This week was a message from the head of the IMF that cryptocurrencies do not pose a threat to the banking system. I don't agree with him. If the popularity of bitcoin will continue to grow this may become a problem. But I think that the reason for the ban of bitcoin is that the government is afraid of free citizens. Bitcoin banned only in authoritarian countries.

Individual states will not be able to ignore the circulation of the country's crypto currency for a long time, because of the increasing demand for it and its value, it has an impact on the country's economy. Therefore, each state will be faced with the choice or prohibit the circulation of the crypto currency, or recognize it as a legal tender, settling its circulation and charging a certain tax on the income from its activities. Obviously, recognition of the crypto currency is better than its prohibition. Although the prohibition of crypto currency will not mean that it will cease to use. By its prohibition, the state can only drive the crypto currency into the shadow turnover and partially move its circulation to other countries. Seeing this, governments choose the option of regulating it than a useless ban.

I think bitcoin is legal way to earn money even all state not declairing that bitcoin is already regulated by the law. Here in my country bitcoin is not yet fully adopted but our local bitcoin wallet requiring government id before using thier services and also it was regulated by amla. That is why i think this is a legal currency which a potential to make poor to be rich in the future and it helps the economy of one country will be great as their current economy.
But i am hoping that bitcoin would be government regulated amd to be declaire that this currency will be included in all payment method in all stores here in our country.

Legality of bitcoin will depend of nations judgement not by us. If fiat money can be use on laundering to purchase drugs and arms then money will be considered an illegal too because that is your opinion. Bitcoin or any other currencies together with fiat are meant to be use in purchasing it will depend on how we use them either for the good or for the bad it will depend on the user so dont be close minded that bitcoin currency is already an illegal thing.

Once in our life had a bitcoin it was not just the currency. It is a completely different ideology. I think that people have not realized. Most people look at bitcoin through the lens of Fiat. If we wait for government approval to use bitcoin we will never get the right to solve their problems themselves. We need to unite and not to look to the government.

It is interesting that the question of the legality of bitcoins is only interested in people in developed countries. In third countries is not such a problem. Those authoritarian country in which there is a legislative ban on the use of bitcoin I am not considering. In third countries people used to survive in difficult situations and therefore are easily able to hide their income. It is important for them to be able to income and hide it from the States no problem.

The law stated that those action with no corresponding law against it is not illegal.. Means if the government will not issue or passed a law to legalized bitcoin means that doing it is not illegal because it can only be recognized as illegal if there’s a law against it.. So complicated that’s why it is more important just to ask a friend who is in law school or a lawyer to have more clarification..

Bitcoin is a digital currency that's why we can buy easily  anything and transaction. but locally it is difficult for us. finally i want to say that it should have done for legal.

The title of this thread is quite off because there are no legal nor illegal Bitcoins to speak of based on the question on hand. What is being asked here is about your use of Bicoins - as to whether it is for a legal or illegal cause - and not as to the legality or illegality of Bitcoins per se.

Nonetheless, granting we have the same understanding as to your question, I think nobody here will ever speak about their use of Bitcoins should it be for illegal causes. Otherwise, they will be investigated by authorities through this thread, thereby putting at risk the very cause of this community.

Bitcoin Legality is a hot and interested topic now a days. In my country it is not illegal yet....so no worries.
Its legality depend upon the country stand you live in. Countries like Bangladesh, Thailand etc..bitcoin transaction is totally illegal; no matters for what reason you are using it.
For other countries, say like japan, If you use bitcoin for prohibited activities like money-laundering, buying drugs etc...in that case the activity is illegal not Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not itself illegal, but what makes it prohibited from other countries is its composition being decentralized. Due to this, people are taking advantage of it by using it as the main medium of exchange under the dark web for illegal transactions. There are quite a number of countries who ban the usage of bitcoin because there were reported to be numerous cases of it on their country. The bad part is that, this creates a stigma on the reputation of bitcoin, thus decreasing the chances of attracting new investors and users thinking that bitcoin is illegal.

It seems to me that money laundering using bitcoin in fact it happens much less frequently than is the case with Fiat. The reason for the spread of such rumors and prohibitions quite different. Governments control their citizens through Fiat. At any moment they can devalue money and blame a dissatisfied power. Monitor people whose income is not dependent on the government is much more difficult. This is the main reason why governments ban bitcoin.

Bitcoin is legal, if it was not legal, we could not buy Bitcoin now, we can buy Bitcoin in various ways and this proves to be legal. If the tax is arranged, we pay taxes. If the illegal part is money laundering, money laundering has been done in a lot of ways since ancient times. It is very bad to pay the crime bills with Bitcoin, but the crime bills   are paid in paper money for a long time. Paper money is illegal in this way of thinking. Bitcoin is not itself illegal.

Basically, Bitcoin is a way to transfer money from one user to another without the need of mediator and I don't think there is any illegal activity in trading and exchanging money. But further, the ans to this question is purely based upon user to user point of view and also the country where they live. Many countries have regulated Bitcoin, due to which the users in those countries consider it as legal activity but where it is illegal or still under regulations, there people are in a dilemma state that Bitcoin is a legal activity or not.

I don't see anything illegal with bitcoin. Most illegal transactions are not made online. This is Fiat. Cash can't be traced. You can find online and if you want to find the final recipient. The problem is that after cashing the traces are lost. The government can't monitor all transactions and therefore accused the bitcoin in what he does. This is part of the company to discredit bitcoin.

I will say its legal cause I use it in every good form I can use my normal country's currency. Bitcoin is said or looked at as illegal because most people use it for illegal activities, but if we all use it for every legal reasons, then the illegal part will be looked out.

Bitcoin being legal or illegal depends on the jurisdiction in a particular Country. Bitcoin in some countries is already legalized, on the other hand is not but the key point is that all the fiat currencies were initially tied to the state, where they are emitted. With crypto it is different. Therefore, crypto will never be legal everywhere I think. It would be great if everything is legalized wherein people can move freely.

This will depend on the country where you belong because some countries declared it legal, some are not and some are neutral like in our country in which bitcoin was not declared legal but not ban so we are enjoying a free bitcoin tax at the moment. But I strongly support the regulation of bitcoin so that the government can track the transactions in order for bitcoin will not be use in crime.

It depends on how you used it because bitcoin is just an asset just like a fiat it really doesn't have a value if no one really don't use it. Well, if I will be the one to choose if what is the option I'll prefer to used it in legal way so that it doesn't have a hassle because if it will be used in illegal way it will lead to just more complications. I don't have a problem if it will be taxed if it becomes legal because if the tax also be used in progress of country or on the regulation of bitcoin then  that would be a good one.

I am against the fact that people have to pay tax to the state for the use of cryptocurrencies. The state has done nothing for the development of this industry. Moreover, they only hinder its development. I would not mind instead of taxes to make a contribution of any startup is essential for all of humanity but I have to be sure that the money will not be stolen. Taxes should be voluntary. For example why should I Finance the war if the government itself decided to start it?

It's wrong to blame the currency in illegal activities. The car can also be a murder weapon but we know that the car is not to blame. All the fault lies on the driver. If a person breaks the law he does it with the use of bitcoin and Fiat at the same time. Nobody proposes to ban the Fiat. Need not to blame bitcoin. we need to demand from law enforcement agencies to perform well their work.

Absolutely, but we all know how the government is looking to tarnish Bitcoin's reputation in an attempt to discourage usage by regular people. It's clear that governments understand that Bitcoin poses a threat to their economy.

But at the same time, I am quite sure that they also realize that there isn't a convenient way of getting rid of Bitcoin. Direct result of this form of weakness is that governments come up with all kinds of regulations.

I don't see regulations as a bad thing, because at the end of the day, we can't just expect governments to sit back and look at how Bitcoin is taking over. I see it as a mid-way solution to somewhat "please" all parties.

Altcoins are also legal if there are no laws on certain place where you are living. Bitcoin is real legal and the people that are taking the advantage of it's anonymity are the ones who are using it for their illegal activities and that's why some other countries government treats it as an illegal currency. And for raymart0720's question about why we are eager to earn more bitcoin is because the price is increasing and we don't want to miss that moment earning great profit.

Over the top of country bitcoin is legal. Some small businesses and merchants bitcoin are still accepted.
However, other countries bitcoin is illegal. They think there's a risk that it could be used to fund crime or illicit terrorist activity.
another reason is that it can be a route to circumvent capital controls. .

My take is that, as per our country, Bitcoins are not illegal because there is no law saying it is illegal. Nor is there any law saying any transactions involving Bitcoins are illegal. Hence, it is legal to us for all intents and purposes.

As regards your second question, I do not think that taxing Bitcoins is the necessary effect of it being a legal tender because just like any currency that is backed up by central banks, you do not tax the money per se but the income you derive from it. To put emphasis, it is the income that you tax and not the currency.

Well, depending where you live and how Bitcoin's progress walks the laws can surely say to have a Bitcoin is the same than having marijuana on your pocket... But the law can even say that to have candies on your pocket is the same than marijuana... And we know it's ridiculous. And I would say it's ridiculous too to treat Bitcoin like drugs, but it can happen if your country's command wish.

The important is to have the conscience about what is right and what is wrong by yourself and not just because a random law say it to you.

If for buying or to have a marijuana or other drugs's prohibited, of course this includes illegal activity and not worth to do. Although it's not known, it's a criminal act that is clearly inappropriate for a good citizen for the country. It should never to doing it, that tarnishing the good name of bitcoin (virtual money).

Yes of course, it will be set up to pay taxes or obligations to be paid to the government.
In general, I think not everyone who wants to earn virtual money than real money, there are still many people out there who haven't really knowing yet the virtual money because not close to the internet connection till to be not concerned with whatever's growing and profitable in the internet world.
Well for those of us who are already close to virtual money (Bitcoin in particular), it seems appropriate if it's more eager to earn virtual money ie bitcoin. There is no need to explain anymore I guess, Bitcoin (virtual money) has many advantages as well as many benefits that we can get from various ways that can be to do (exclude criminality) that can compete with the real money, even more easier to gain many profits without must go out from house.

Bitcoin is legal along with other cryptocurrencies. They are just unregulated/decentralized and free from government/banking control and intervention. The only time it can become illegal is when people attempt to use it for illicit behaviours. For the most part though, the government is happy with the tax benefits they gain of off people when they cash out and pay standard trading/investment taxes.

Ofcourse the legal bitcoin. Legal bitcoin gives you assurance that your investment is in the good hands and free from hackers. Aside from that it is better to do since they have authority by the government to operate.

The issue of legality depends upon how we use a currency, if we use for transactions among other users there is no illegal stuff but if we buy drugs and practice activities that are illegal and can cause harm to other then it may be treated as illegal. But, why to blame Bitcoin alone for any illegal activities as there are many more currencies out there which are also used for illegal activities. Just because of some users are using Bitcoin in the illegal activities one cannot state whole crypto currency as illegal.

According to legal doctrine Everything which is not forbidden is allowed, this means that we can do everything within the law. it is an opportunity to do  anything that does not harm others and goverment.so we can organize  our bitcoins within good faith. In my opinion,In a tax case, it can be arranged based on general norms if legislative body has no special norms about it,because its a kind of  private law relations.but its also expensive  and hard to control transactions in this situation,so such issues depend on  the political will of the state and its depend on where do you live.

As what I see and I know, the company of bitcoin is a legal entity which has a power and right to operate supported by the authorization of the government and law. All requirements needed to have authorization has been complied by the bitcoin to have juridical personality.

I see the legality of bitcoin is still "unclear", because today, many policymakers in the world know about digital currencies like Bitcoin, but many of them have not made laws or legal rules about digital currencies because of the complexity of digital currencies such as This bitcoin.

The main reason why? Because it is really be hard to be tracked when transaction are being made on bitcoin form unlike on fiat which government can really possible to trace up which cant really be done on bitcoin itself. This is why they do really prohibit on using or even adopting it because they know the risk but not only that regarding criminality but also on taxation.Adoption would really be decided on a certain place depending on how they would see it and bitcoin do really have positive and negative side it depends on which thing they would really consider.

Anything is legal to the extent that government allows it. In some states in the United States today, marijuana is legal which is not so several years ago but because government said it is, it is then legal. I would prefer a legal bitcoin but that would be at the mercy of the same government backed institutions and economy that bitcoin seeks to provide an alternative to. It would be a great relief if that came into effect really as the freedom to declare will be more clearer.

However, like so many other things that have been banned, yet are difficult to enforce, such bans would likely simply be ignored. No longer having government-sanctioned access to cryptocurrency exchanges, and so on, might be inconvenient - but - due to the nature of cryptocurrency and its underlying technology, government bans might actually increase its usage and strengthen its adoption.Especially in parts of the world where the local currency is neither strong nor stable.

It is difficult to enforce, but a lot of Bitcoin users may face harassment from the government authorities. In India, the situation is getting worse every day. At first, the government was saying that anyone investing in Bitcoin are doing so at their own risk, and the authorities will not be responsible for any losses which they incur. But after the rates increased by 20x this year, they are saying that they will prosecute anyone using Bitcoin for deliberately trying to sabotage the local economy.

The bitcoin was ligal because bitcoin is already used in other countries.may be other country consider bitcoin as an illigal. All because that other countries did not recognized bitcoin  as a currency and they not abto ro experience using bitcoin so that the bitcoin is illigal to them because the price of a bitcoin currency is higher than any currency that may starts doubt to bitcoin as an scam..but all of that is not true...

Bitcoin now are not totally legal in the Philippines, maybe this coin in this country was followed the rules and regulations of this nation to avoid banning of crypto currency. As per BSP since bitcoin was followed the AML together with KYC they allowed this coin to continue their transactions in the Philippines. In addition they believe that this coin were not used in evil, also they trust Filipino's that they cannot abused this coin for personal interest.

this legality issue is important, although the government can not control bitcoin but the policies relating to it are very influential. As in India and Indonesia.
In Indonesia, bitcoin is only prohibited from being used as payment, there is no prohibition on storing bitcoin, but all the risk of loss is not borne by the government. There is a recent news if some banks are starting to adopt a blockchain system, hopefully this can bring a positive impact. Bitcoin users will be very happy if there is legality, but although there is no legality does not matter, the important thing is not banned.

According to the current legislation of the Russian Federation (article 75 of the Russian Constitution), any monetary surrogates in Russia are banned. Such surrogates applies relatively recently introduced cryptocurrency – bitcoin. The main feature of a cryptocurrency is that it is not secured real value and bitcoins are not tied to any particular Bank. To know who and who makes a transfer almost impossible. Such anonymity has made bitcoin payments in Russian currency, which began to cultivate criminals. This currency was used to purchase items that are illegal, such as drugs, weapons.

Even seeing on current situation in Japan they do adopt bitcoin but doesn't mean they do replace their Traditional local fiat which is Yen which means It does signifies it would really just be good as an alternative digital currency not would totally replace any currency that government been controlling off. They do know its limitation that's why they don't really tend to much to adopt it fully. Legality of Bitcoin will depend upon the country not will depend upon the people who are using it. If Bitcoin is legal in your country then of course you are doing legal but if it will be declared illegal by your country then you are doing illegal and will be subject for prosecution if caught. We joined bitcoin as investment to earned more local money for our future spending in which the value of bitcoin to dollars is very huge.

Bitcoin being legal or not legal has basically no direct importance. People wrongly assume that if Bitcoin isn't legal in their country, that it automatically means that they don't have to pay tax over their profits and holdings.

Point is that you will still have to pay tax over everything you hold and gain. In most cases there is a separate section that you can fit Bitcoin in when you fill in your tax reports, which is something people seem to ignore.

It's just common sense because the value of your Bitcoin and other crypto holdings is part of your total wealth. If people think there is no need to pay tax over their coins, they are obviously wrong on that.

If I am going to pick legal, the government intervenes in bitcoin, thus will take a percentage and I do not like sharing. If I am going to pick illegal, I cannot use bitcoin. I can use it in a secret way. Therefore, I am picking neither legal nor illegal. Neutralism is the best option for me.

Can you guyz vote if what are we doing now is legal or not
Coz these can be a serious like having a marijuana or drugs in our pockets

And if these bitcoin became a currency i think it will be have a tax and
Why do we eager to earn virtual money than real money.. simply because the rate is higher than the real ones and it is easy to earn if i am not mistaken😎

What you guyz think

Newbie
using bitcoin for narcotics will not be serious for those countries that allows the trade of it but for those countries that totally ban the consumption and selling of those drugs i think people using bitcoin for those transactions might have a problem.
currency should't have a tax but a profit should be so converting fiat into bitcoin should not have any tax imposition but only the gains you get from it after converting it again into fiat with a higher price the same concept with alts trading for speculative purposes.

I prefer Bitcoin to be legal but but it doesn't matter so much for me :) The thing that matters to me is the money I earn.  8)

bitcoin I think legal, if used for good and not harm others. but it could be illegal if misused for a crime, which would harm others.

Legalizing the use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, means putting it under government regulation and subject to tax by means of transactions. But the prospect of banning any cryptocurrencies is always possible when it is not legalize under government law. Other countries like mine allows people to use bitcoin in any online transactions even it is not fully legalize yet while the exchanges here are already under regulation.

Using bitcoin to purchase well-natured goods and services is not illegal. However, those who mine bitcoins and trade them for traditional currency or operate exchanges on which bitcoins are bought and sold are labeled “money transmitters” and could be subject to special laws that govern that type of activity. But for the most part it remains relatively safe to use as long as it is not tied to illicit purchases or activities.Depending on where and how you utilize bitcoin, it is important to remain up-to-date on the latest regulations concerning the digital currency. As laws change across borders, governing bodies and, increasingly, as the platform gains popularity, questions about bitcoin’s legality will continue to be raised.
