South Summit already has its 100 startups finalists for its next edition. More than 90 experts have selected the 100 projects that will participate in the international meeting of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, to be held in Madrid from 4 to 6 October in the Madrid area of ​​La N @ VE and will bring together the most important actors of the entrepreneurial ecosystem : Investors, startups and corporations.

Selected from a total of 3,500 projects - 53% international from more than 72 countries - the 100 startups selected come from countries like the United States, Israel, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Mexico or Chile. At a Spanish national level they come from the Community of Madrid, Catalonia, Valencian Community, Andalusia, Galicia, Asturias, Castile and Leon, Basque Country and Navarre.

The selected projects correspond to innovative and disruptive initiatives of the main industries: Smart Mobility, Travel & Tourism, New Money, Content & Channels, Healthcare & Biotech, Lifestyle & Fashion, Energy & Sustainability, Art & Culture, as well as initiatives related to B2B and B2C. Regarding the level of development, 31% of projects already have a consolidated project in the growth phase.

In addition to participating in South Summit 2017, all selected startups will have access to training, one-to-one meetings, mentoring and a space of their own in the meeting next October. This will allow them to gain great visibility, access new business opportunities and publicize their projects to investors and corporations in search of innovation, from around the world.

i find it hard to think that this project can become anything more then a dream! simply because dealing with energy providers world wide will simply laugh at this idea !

You are right, up to a certain extent. We might be dreamers (!) but, the reason you are mentioning, is why our approach and roadmap implementation does not deal with energy providers but energy cooperatives. This is our realistic plan to  enter the energy market structure and apply P2P trading and financial schemes at a large scale.

Taking into account the way the energy market is developing and the potential impact of blockchain, I find it hard to see the utilities not being interested in that - especially after the successful pilot demonstration through our energy cooperative partners.

After a re-evaluation of the status of the project and the ICO campaign, we have decided the launch of a pre-sale of Pylon-tokens (pre-ICO), with introduction of bonuses (discounts). The pre-ICO will launch on 25th Sep 2017 and will last for 9 days.

This week we visited Madrid to spread the word about Pylon Network and explore possibilities for collaboration with other innovators focusing on social impact!
On Tuesday 12 morning, we paid a visit at Greenpeace Spain headquarters (Madrid). There, we had the chance to have a very interesting discussion with Sara Pizzinato, responsible for the promotion of renewable energy at Greenpeace, who explained us how Greenpeace is looking to promote renewable energy in ways that maximize social value creation. Of course, we had the chance to…mention Pylon Network and engage to a dialogue for exploring future collaborations and demonstration of the blockchain technology as a tool for energy democratization.

It also, “happened” that Greenpeace was organizing the same day a conference with all Spanish energy cooperatives invited. And it happened that we mentioned Pylon to them, too…

We are very fond of the cooperative model and we want Pylon to be an open environment and a scalable tool to accommodate all cooperatives who want to empower communities through democratization of green energy assets and decision-making about such a basic commodity as energy, at local level.

It is clear that there is a great interest in the advantages that blockchain technology can offer and Klenergy will keep pursuing open dialogue with all co-minded stakeholders in order to demonstrate the Pylon Network model – and the underlying blockchain technology – at market-scale while re-shaping the operational model of the current energy system.

Really interesting project.   A serious team with a real products like  METRO and HELIOS , I like the concept of green mining.
 I believe this project,  It's gonna help not only to improve the solar and green energy market but  also to buy energy cheaper in the future.

The hard cap is around 6Millions $. Another ICOS ask for huge amount of money (for built a software), so I think the Pylon Team is very honest with that.

The guys working with Utilities already are the ones from the PROSUME.io ICO.
They already have projects running ion building microcommunities with various European Utilities as well as a large project with a Transmission System Operator.

The problems with peer to peer transactions energy transactions are of two main origins.
1. legal limitations for a non utility related energy producer to sell against value to another common citizen
2. transmission and distribution costs to be paid to the Grid Operator.

I can't believe how low the token supply is... most tokens with 500k circulating or less in the top 400 are worth over $20

This was from the beginning a project with specific budget and low supply/hard-cap specifically because we wanted to reflect the real value of the project. Our energy token follows the same philosophy.

I see a rising market cap the volume dropped %75 percent from yesterday but the value went up. I see people are finnaly seeing pylon's worth. hodling on for the ride upwards

Your skepticism is very valid, since the energy sector is very much regulated/controlled and disruption takes time, since we are talking about ownership and technical restrictions of physical generation assets, networks/grids etc.

Pylon Network is implemented in partnership with renewable energy cooperatives in Spain and Europe. As electricity suppliers to their members/customers, energy cooperatives becomes our first link to the European energy market and the European electricity consumer.

However, Pylon Network is designed as an open-source tool for cooperation between all players of the energy market. This means that once our platform is demonstrated in partnership with energy cooperatives in Europe (our demonstration partners are GoiEner from the Basque country in Spain) any player who wishes, will be able to integrate their operation on Pylon Network, potentially with no cost.

By taking out the commercial exploitation from the core operation of the platform and adding all benefits of blockchain (trust, transparency, traceability) is how Pylon Network aims to expand to more players who want (or are committed/obliged) to make their operation more efficient and green.

Necessary condition for a future adoption by many players/markets is the demonstration of the benefits  of our blockchain algorithm (i.e. scalability potential & green mining consumption), which we will validate through the later stages of Pylon demonstration.

It won't happen within a day. It is a long process and has been longer than it should. Our only aim is to accelerate it and the more the better..

Any specific reason you guys do not actively maintain bitcointalk thread?

Don't know the reason but at least in the telegram group they are so active, it would be a pity if they left the project that has lasted more than 2 years just like that.

Lots of upcoming events and new exchange listings - the team has been running this project for years and are now executing. give them time and join their telegram group....  I only recently found this project and invested a small amount.
