You mean cryptocoin still using the same outdated stuff Bitcoin is using, like 10 minutes blocks, retarget few times in lifetime, no way to artificially retarget down in the case of too long blocks and not enough hashpower, used to purchase .bit domains no one really cares about and merge-mined with Bitcoin to stay alive? There is more value in most recently launched scamcoins and crapcoins than Namecoin but it takes to stop being blinded by bullshits "those in the know" are posting and saying to realise that. There are old and new members of the cryptocoin world, and it is inevitable old ones will become obsolete at some point. Bitcoin is already outdated. Once it is replaced by some up to date cryptocoin, Namecoin will perish without many actualy noticing. namecoin is the only real altcoin, the oldest altcoin(?), it actually does something, imo value = 1:1 to bitcoin :).. the possibilities of it are endless. no other altcoin has given anything as valueable as nmc.... imo :) Title: Re: Coins - what are they made of? Get GeistGeld. 15 second blocks and you can mine it with the same hashes that are also mining bitcoins, because it is merged mine-able. As more and more blockchains get spawned it becomes more and more apparent that the masses aren't going to touch blockchains directly. On the bright side though, the Open Transactions app for iPhone is looking pretty good, saw some screenshots today... -MarkM- |
