Title: Zcash Mining Questions
Post by: adamantasaurus on July 31, 2017, 08:15:48 AM
So I'm currently mining ETH but since the price is dropping and depeneding what it does after aug 1st I might switch over to z cash I was wondering if anyone knows the hashrates for EVGA GTX 1070s SC Black Edition and EVGA GTX 1070 SC2?

And also I know for eth for overclocking you need to boost the memory clock to get the best hash rate what should you mess around with mainly for ZEC? And also does anyone suggest good settings to start with on MSI afterburner for ZEC?

Thanks

Around 400H/s for a GTX 1070. ETH won't drop after Aug 1st. You can overclock your GPU for modest gains but it will consume more power.

is the 400h for stock or overclocked? And why do you think ETH won't drop usually if bitcoin drops everything drops "usually" do you think bitcoin will drop or go higher after the fork?

You should probably get about 450 hashes on zcaah with your evga gtx 1070s, with zcash you want to  overclock the core, the memory doesn't matter in this case, every card has its suitable settings so you should probably play around a bit with tdp and core clock

Ok cool, thanks appreciate your help, I will see what ETH does and if it starts dropping I will make the switch :)

For Equihash, here I use +200MHz Core and +500 Memory in my 2x Galax 1070GTX OC Mini, around 440 Sol/s with TDP at 90% each card with the latest miner from Nicehash.

Does it consume less than 170 W from the wall?

Each card cosumes about 120-135W from the wall mining Equihash, I never use TDP above 90% for mining purposes to not overload the VRMs and to pay less for electricity, with ETH/ DaggerHashimoto algo things are better, I use +600MHz memory and -50MHz Core with TDP at about 70-75% range, 100-110W each from the wall in that case.
Unfortunatly both coins are low priced right now, in June things were a lot different in the US$400 price each, profit was monstruous.
