For me below are the coins which are best for investment.

Icn (High potential to increase in near future)
Adx (Price is low from ico but price will increase soon)
Vsl  (Profitable)
Eth  (Best option to invest for long term)
Ae (not on exchange yet)

All of your choices can be considered as good list. I hold iconomi that i've bought it around $0.3

Adex looks worst in this time. the price already plunged. Vsl already distributed the working dividend on its platform.

ETH is very good choice.

I think most altcoins with real product and public team are good but you have to choose some of them, depending on your expectations from a coin.

seems that you did your homework by researching the potentials of those coins OP i'm positive that most of them will increase its value before the end of the year or on te first quarter since we knew that inside crypto there's a lots of great opportunities just by holding your coins and wait. good luck to you

In your list the strongest one is of course ETH, specially because three of the others (Icn, Adx, Vsl) are projects built on the Ethereum network (Iconomi is a fund management platform, vSlice is a gaming platform and AdEx an advertisement platform), so the rely on Ethereum to be succesful.

ICN is very interesting and their platform (iconomi.net) is live and open for the public (they have just opened it earlier today).

I don't know a lot about the others, but AdEx is competing with other big advertisement projects such as the Basic Attention Token (BAT). Aeternity from what I've heard is another platform project, but I think they also used the Ethereum network to create their own token for the public ICO. I've heard some bad things about them, not sure what is true and what is not, but some people claim to have never received their ICO tokens and some are questioning the Dev team.

So, in my opinion the best in your list is still ETH followed by ICN.

i think Ethereum very Suitable for invest in long terms and very profitable.

ETH would be the leading figure on the list. It will enter the four figure value soon. ICN and VSL are worth waiting, they will for sure earn more price, especially now that trading is becoming more and more vibrant as fears are already gone. ADX is a very young coin introduced more or less a month ago. There is still a bright future for ADX. Coins that have actual use are always good options, like ADX.

No, I think Waves better than Ethereum about holding Long term, Ethereum has pumped to highest price and very difficult for continue this trend, max price I think Ethereum can reach maybe around $600-$500 in 2017. But about Waves, we can see it reach to 0.01-0.02 BTC per coin is possible.

I like the concept of ADX and it is like adshares, it may be an interesting business and token.

I think it is prudent to have some percentage of Monero laying around. Reasons:

Should governments try to enforce regulations on blockchain tech, truly anonymous currencies will become a safe haven.

From the existing privacy focussed currencies, Monero is the one "too big to fail". Big community, long development and so on.

This is not really "best" as in "most profitable", but "best" in the sense of "best backup".

Waves has a good potential and most ICO that used the waves platform are successful I can see that waves will be like eth in the future. Stratis is also good as what I've heard I haven't researched about this coin but I will find time one of these days.

Adex looks worst just because all the crypto currencies facing downfall nowadays but i am sure adex has great potential to increase its price. And we will see adex start increasing soon.

I'm only familiar with Etherum base on list you give to us. Because it's very solid since day one. And I agree Eth are best option to invest for long term, if we compare with litecoin I have a lot of confidence for Etherum.

ethereum and ethereum classic is the best altcoin. i am carrying others but my main investment on ethereum.

Unfortunately sometimes a good project does not mean that it will be a good adjustments. There are many undevelopped project with high prices however much better projects with a better team but suffering and with a really low price. I think groups/people who support the project are very important to earn money from a project.

I would suggest to take a look on Viacoin, they have an intresting roadmap, from today they launched Segwit and at the moment i think it is really undervalued.
Worth some money to invest in.

That is a nice list and it seems that you are keenly observing the cryptocurrency market. My choice will be ETH because it has a great potential to grow and after the dump it's price will surely increase. Adx price is low but it will surely increases. Aeternity is a good project so the possibility that AE will be a huge success is there.

I'm shocked nobody mentioned NEM the best performing top alt coin for many weeks now. Massive gains recently, and catapult about to launch.

Currently for me ETH and LTC are the best coins in the market crypto, although BCC is currently above the ETH price but I think it will not last long, because ETH has good potential for more advanced than BCC.

Shadowtoken is great in the short term, low marketcap and an ICO designed to give benefits to early buyers. For long term I suggest Stratis, they have the absolute best dev team out there which always delivers on time and never oversells or overhypes their own coin.

Well ShadownToken is a project I following and very like it. Use waves platform + hard cap after ICO maximum is $ 500.000 very good for an ICOs potential in long time, as the project I joined in 2016 and are successfully.

I have watched all of the history in the shadow announcement thread and it looks there are some things that makes everyone doubt about the project. someone already accused the dev about the money grabber intention.
The result is the total raised fund of the project.

I think altcoin has the most potential as VOX because it uses a very good platform and is always up to date on the development of this altcoin. I'm sure in the future this altcoin will probably apply in life like bitcoin

Our prediction could be right and wrong, it's all depends on development of each coin themself, so we just need to update the last news about altcoin

for investment in long term, i will choose ethereum, for short term maybe i will choose icn, eth (short term too), adx. but i am having a big hope with icn and i think icn can do this in short term. but i think there is many altcoin that will be the best investment and not just in your list because every altcoin in the different market have a big potential to increase soon.

I would also choose other and it has a wide application like ETH has.

Xem good for short term investment and like you said ethereum for long term investment. I do also trade lisk and strats  for short term and this two coin has give me high return on my investment over time.

At present, NEO is altcoin has won much trust for investors because this altcoin is constantly increasing prices and stable prices, which will make NEO more attention to everyone because NEO has an amazing development roadmap

as of now, I recommend ETH, NEO, STRAT, OmiseGO and SC. I really like to invest on altcoins when everybody is going crazy for BTC. Altcoins will soon regain its value sooner.

In your list. I only agree with ETH and NEO because these two altcoins have more buyers and the number of whales and investors are focused on these two altcoins a lot and it will certainly be pumping this year.

I would go with Ripple and Waves. Of course there are some other shiny alts getting alot of interest but i believe these two can be trusted much more to fulfill their potential and if i have to pick a third one it would be Neo.

We cannot say Ripple is an altcoin cryptocurrency normally, if the definion of this coin can change in future, I really want change this coin to tag #asset or #token like other ICO token on market, because Ripple is platform for helps banks transfer money and centralization.

Litecoin still among my favorite, very stable value and it plays very well with bitcoin, looking forward for atomic swaps and lightning networks on both coins.

For me ETH is the best for investment. ETH is an altcoin that threatens bitcoin. Also, ETH is a fast earning altcoin, you can earn it faster only if you are patient, perseverant and hard worker. I think eth is the best, Ethereum has a uniqueness that makes it different from other altcoin. Basically, the ETH bearing currency is a software platform that can be coded by itself and activated through the blockchain system by its developers. "Processing power" from the developer's software is then sold and paid with ether, or Bitcoin-like currency.

Out of the entire list, I'll totally agree with you on ETH. You're mentioning in the brackets some coins as "near future potential".. try not to focus on the near term but focus on the long term potential of each curerncy. From what you've listed the most promising, as already mentioned in ETH. ETH has by far the biggest community and the highest adoption from developers of all sorts of industries. It's protocol ER20 standard has been fairly adopted by now and everyone is using it. I believe still, that ETH is very undervalued at thirty billion, when you have BTC sitting at around a hudred billion. It will definitely get some market share both in the short and long term, but I'm most excited about the long term potential, in a couple of years we'll be looking back and "laugh" about the current prices, because the market will have grown so much that it will look like BTC is trading at ten dollars.

In terms of new alt coins I am betting on the AMB.

AdeX is really useless to me and it only has been pumping because it was listed on bittrex and also they have partnered with neo and with bitmain. For normal users, it has no use case.

A coin that is worthing a lot to join today is XRB, raiblocks has an amazing system and its a old coin wich had abandoned due to a problem into their distribution model in the past, they used faucet to share their coin with all people no matter if have milions or cents. Currently a lot people are able to get this coin into two exchanges one of them with 5-6 months making an amazing work, Bitgrail. The coin use a dag system, and the transactions has no fees between users, and are made instant(5-10 seconds). I do believe waves is another coin with big potencial once the smart contracts get live.

After Bitcoin I just tell you Ethereum and waves is best altcoin right now. Both project are good, Both project have own blockchain, Both can be store other asset or token. After that you can try to Decent, Stratis, Next, Zcash, Dash. Every coin is good and potential. 

Minexcoin used to be ignored only and were even  thought to be scam but now everyone  wants to have  it :)
There were tons of volume in livecoin because of it I register to the exchange. I got more  of it when it was yet $4 and I'm still holding, I put my trust to it for I can sense it will be big.

I think that the Ethk are the best Altcoin well, at least for me and the reason for this is its growth and I think that in the near future it will not go down

Just in that eth had already touch $400 and hope that this will continue until december, seems like eth showing up its power and don't want to left behind when bch skyrocketed last few weeks. I've been talking about it for a very long time but Zcoin is clearly the best potential .. now it's starting to be known and famous but it's just the beginning.

It was a long time cheap, and it was a unique opportunity unlike Zcash which was immediately very expensive and inaccessible. Zcoin will reach the price of Zcash but at least we could buy it really cheap ..

In my opinion, bitcoin remains a priority as the best coin with advances in bitcoin today certainly its position is irreplaceable as a source of crypto trade.
But of course there are some altcoins that are alternative and potentially good enough to continue to grow and flourish like Eth, LTC, Waves, XRP and ZEN Ii believe if altcoin has an active price in the crypto market and as a long term investment

2018 will be the year of Lisk.

Why? Because it enables every programmer to code dApps. Javascript is basically the language most of the programmers use.
So Lisk enables wide-spread blockchain adoption. Even Ethereum can't offer that since no one knows Solidity.

In my opinion, IOTA, NEO, Monero, and Stellar are best coin to invest in 2018. You can check their development in 2017 to know.

My opinion is that all altai will rise. And it is very good to grow. As you can see now more grow Top coin.

I would totally agree with you on the ETH part, to be honest most of the other coins I don't even know, but Ethereum is by far the best long-term investment. Just think of all the potential it has, it will be the main network for decentralized applications. There might not be any used at the moment, but at some point we'll be seeing people willing to use them because they will offer real value that will benefit many. And in order for these people to use these applications they'll have to buy GAS, and that will be done by buying ETH. And that's not all, when Ethereum goes to PoS everyone that will have Ether will be able to validate transactions (unlike mining) and earn a steady passive income, how awesome is that?

Is there such a thing as the best altcoin.? I do not know how to determine the criterion according to exactly how these standards are determined .. Bitcoin since the beginning of this year I think was valued at 20x times. past due 1 year. it is probably a very good success. actually  very good success and gain. but looking at the other altcoins, ethereum  from $ 5-7 dollars per year at the beginning of the year up to $ 500. probably 100x times as much, but still the most talked about is "bitcoin".  I still can not say exactly "that coin" is really the best altcoin.

There are several interesting projects, with strategic views for the long term. I'm not talking about day trading, for that purpose there are hundreds of so called coins.

Differnt people have differnt views and chooses according to their studies and knowledge, to me i think that the best crypto currency to be trade is bitcoin and after that i think Etherium is aslo trusted for investment, although there are so many other crytpo currencies which have low value but still good potential to increase its price, but finding such good poteintal altcoin you need to have good expeirnce first in altcoin trading.

What you have written is not a bad list of altcoins, though I think that you missed the one that is the best at the moment and that is Bitcoin Cash. Fantastic growth over the past few months, and it keeps a relevancy and consistency on the line. Even though at the moment BCH is at a slight downtrend I strongly believe it will bounce back stronger than ever. ;)

Some altcoins are in in the category of best altcoins but in reality are not. There are more new coins come to this world of crypto I think almost part of literal world of business have already coin like pornX for sexual activities, cibus for foods, ethereum for wallet storage, kucoin for exchange and pycoin for writing and testing safe protocol. The coins that you mentioned are fairly good , i actually know about only 3 of them and i am totally shipping those 3 coins . Other than that i would also advice to
go for the coins that are already registered to stay on the safe side . I am currently a lot into REMME coin . It is a very good coin and is already registered . It has gotten  attention as soon as it was registered . So why not put some stakes on it too.
