I am genuinely confused about this part. I have bitcoins in my electrum wallet. How can I get bitcoin cash? Now that August 1 has passed there are no Bitcoin cash in my wallet. It still shows just bitcoins that I had before. Please help me out in simply language what should I do? Should I download the electrum wallet again? I support original bitcoin and want to just sell Bitcoins cash if I can somehow get it. cheers! Also how long do you have before you can claim the bitcoin cash? So for example if you have 5 bitcoins in electrum, you get 5 bitcoin cash? Im confused here so basically its free money for every bitcoin that you have? Thus if someone has like 100 bitcoins, they are going to get 100 of these bitcoin cash? It is stored on a separate chain so you would have the exact same amount as you do with bitcoin and it would be spent separately. Check out 6Asmodeus6's reply earlier which mentions how you could claim it. It does take some work and requires running multiple wallets. For anyone trying to send multisig BCH, I just followed the instructions on this page after installing Ubuntu on an old laptop I had... browse to this page: https://github.com/fyookball/electrum Follow the instructions under Development version: git clone git://github.com/fyookball/electrum.git . . . I had to install some dependencies such as pip etc which wasn't installed on my system. |
