After all the chaos of the past month, hodlers were rewarded Saturday with a huge surge in Bitcoin pricing. At press time, BTC was trading at $3,104, a new all time high. Reddit exploded with the news, filled with a number of funny GIFs showing the exuberance of the BTC marketplace.

Fear of the fork
Many analysts had changed their perspective on BTC after the news of the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) fork was made public. There were those, however, who directed the public back to the fundamentals of BTC, encouraging hodlers to remain calm and not give into fear of value loss. It appears for today that they have been rewarded highly.  

 Other coins
Litecoin (LTC) and Ethereum (ETH) were also up on the day, though nowhere near the substantial gains of BTC. Analysts have previously suggested that the fork was moving some out of other cryptocurrencies and that ETH especially was undervalued. The BTC increase also saw a correspondingly painful decrease for BCH, down nearly 25 percent as of press time.

Next stop => 3500 USD :D

This is why people have been advising to hold BTC, and now the holders are being rewarded due to their patience. Just some months ago, between the 19th and 20th of May this year, BTC was in the ~2000$ mark. Now its in the 3100-3200$ mark. Really remarkable. Please hold and lets see how huge profits you can earn!

We see the effects of pent-up demand for bitcoin in the previous period. I think that the price of 3500 is reached easily. Maybe the price will be even higher, but then will be rolled back. I predict 3200-3300 until November.

This is crazy nice. This morning i woke up and i had what to see. I could not got better news that this, woke up and when i saw that price of bitcoin was around 3100 dollars i was amazed. I have to say that i had my suspicions about fork, but i decided to stay with bitcoin no matter what, and now i can see that i did not made a mistake. :D

I wanted to buy more the last time it dipped before 1. August but opted not to because i had exams and didn't have the time to think. Only regret i have with bitcoin is that i didn't buy more. ;D Profits are really nice BTC

You should go back further around February last week or early March when the price plummeted to sub $1000 after the rejection of the ETF by SEC then Japan legalized it in April pushing the price to the present $3100-$3200. Really remarkable run by bitcoin. Imagine if people just holding bitcoin for barely 6 months so should be profiting huge by now and its not even the end of the year.


Looking back like 4 days ago, people are fearing Aug 1 date because of uncertainty and the doubt by a lot of people. And what a sudden twist of event. We are now enjoying a new ATH, that's what we all love about bitcoin. Its really very unpredictable. Good news for all for specially for those who just woke up and for some who are going to sleep in a few hours.  :) Just continue to hold and yes, we will be rewarded in the end after all.

I have notice that eth and ltc just following the path of btc. When btc rise all the alts rise too. I don’t think the alt can survive them self without bt.c

Yes you are accurate. We are still at 3200 USD and I believe that we can aim it higher, maybe 3500 :). Well about bitcoins rising, we just need to believe at it for it to go higher. Now that it broke a world record of $3000 maybe it would be higher after within a month or two. I believe that this is the right time, the right moment for it to go to the moon. Maybe next year we can see it to the moon.

Yes we all those who believed in the Bitcoin knew it would happen, some fools clamoured for that shit coin, they even gave it the king status now where are they shitting in their pants, seeing the price rise. This is just amazing, I knew it would touch 3k on Aug 1st and was disappointed when it did not lol, but now I am glad it finally touched 3100 and hopefully upwards and upwards. This is the moment we all been waiting for.

3000$? Hodlers not impressed, they hodl because of Bitcoin itself, not its exchange rate :D

So the prediction that after the SEGWIT the price of bitcoin would climb up above $3,000 .
So my question is are we going to see the price going to $4,000 or $5,000 anytime soon?

We could possibly see $4000 soon. Btc is still the most promising cryptocurrency to date despite what the naysayers have been blowing to our faces of late. The more headlines it attracts with such all-time high levels, the more the adoption.

So in November is the plan by the NYA participants to fork off right??
I could imagine we see a rally until mid to end of september and then again the FUD will begin.
However I doubt this will have a big impact in the community. Furthmore Bcash is taking a lot of steam out of 2x guys.
If they wanna go for bigger blocks, we can say they shall go to bcash and try to implement segwit there.
Therefore a price of $4000-$5000 is definitely possible within the next 4-8 weeks imo.
Then we will probably retrace.

Let's all laugh at the noobs & weak hands who sold when we dipped below $2000.

Happy bitcoin prices have touched 3200 dollars more and this is a very meaningful reward for the holders and believe in bitcoin not to sell bitcoin during chaos at the beginning of this month. Although I only sell half of what I have, but I've gotten a good profit on this bitcoin price increase.

One of the best reasons to hold. I have planned something for myself in which I set a goal for Bitcoin, in this case, it was 3.2K. Then when Bitcoin hits that price, I sell a certain percentage of my bitcoin for fiat currencies and wait until bitcoin drops again to replenish my Bitcoin supply. This time I sold 30 percent of my Bitcoin when it hit 3.2K and I am glad I did because it looks like Bitcoin is beginning to drop.

Bought a heap of Bitcoin when it was 2K and made some easy profit, I love holding.

there's always a pump after the dump. those who keep hodl their btc can see the sunrise now. If the price touch $3.5k, means my prediction is correct. I've predict the price until the end of 2017, are around that price. But if I'm wrong, I hope the price is more than my prediction, not less  ;D

This is really a new high for bitcoin, lets hope it continues on rising like this.

What is the reason for that high now?

It was to be expected, whether you are holding bonds, stocks, gold or in this case bitcoins, long term holders are always rewarded, bitcoin cash has always been destined for a failure and to be nothing more than a coin for speculators for the simple fact that is not something the community wanted, we do not want hard forks.

It was bound to happen people keep asking about it, now that bitcoin is in new all time high do you think it will be too expensive for it to invest or is the price bearable in such that if you invest now you can expect a good return.

At the moment the price is simply too high unless you day trade there are not more profits to be had in the short term, I think the price could drop a little as traders prepare for the next big news and movement on bitcoin, for now I think the big movements on the market had ended.
