Yeah, the volume is small, I have bought some ICO tokens, but I will not sell them at least in the next 2 month because I think this project is promising and it is better to be a long term investment. It will be interesting to see if celebrity endorsements become the norm for ICOs or if this is a one time thing. Based on its success, I suspect we'll be seeing more of this soon. It always feel good though when you invest in something that has an instant impact in the market. A good start is important.

I missed the ICO but am due some from the sig campaign. I'll be holding for quite a while I think. Flipping is one thing, but we shouldn't rush to early judgement this early on in a coin's life.

I am beginning to wonder now what is the formula. The development team's reputation? Good marketing? Or good whales to back the ICO? Or just a lot of small fish to help buy the ICO up. The bounties were quite good too and usually big bounties make an ICO value go down after token distribution.

I think celebrity endorsements will become more common when STX price blows up. Even rapper The Game has now gotten into the game by promoting the upcoming Paragon ICO. My only concern is the SEC and how they'll try to clamp down with their new "coin offerings are securities" ruling. The best thing about STX is the team behind it and then the merit of the project. If Augur and Gnosis can stall all this time and still find support at their current prices, then surely STX can too with Mayweather behind it. ICOs are a big gamble in general, but I do believe STOX is indeed a "safer" bet. STOX isn't trying to do something revolutionary or super original. But what makes them different is their planning and execution. Their single goal is alot more humble -- to build a viable long-term business with STX coins as the primary currency. The potential use case is already there, and they already have an existing user base to become early adopters of the platform. Not to mention the hype and marketing. They had these chess pieces in place BEFORE they even started the token sake. This tells me the team knows what they're doing. They know what it takes to build a successful business based on real-world experience, and not some empty promises outlined in fancy theoretical white paper. This is why I consider STOX to be a safer bet than Augur and Gnosis. Well, Augur has already launched their beta. It's not super fancy though, but it's here. So, lets just hope Stox will keep up. I like both of them, but the actual product, it's UI/UX is what will matter. I subscribed to Stox newletters and hope we will be abe to try their platform by the end of the year! |
