Oh god , that is a lot of money to invest. Have you paid of all your debts first, and i hope that isn't your life savings because I won't recommend investing that away. Pay off your debt and then do this:
-Buy 2 more properties, pay a 20 percent deposit kn then and then you can rent them out, would recommend buy properties around the 1 mil mark. In around 15 years they should have no more mortgages left.
-Invest into crypto, put some into bitcoin and use it to trade alt coins.

Personally, I wouldn't suggest you to invest everything into crypto but if you really want to then buy Bitcoins, hold them and keep them safely. Search for potential new altcoins, invest in limits and be attentive towards market.

That's a huge sum, just invest into bitcoin today. Regularly you can get a profit through just the simple form of trading. It will clearly generate a profit regularly and when calculated all of the sudden what you got as profit than leaving the capital will grow much higher.

Don't invest all of those fiat in one crypto try to diversify your investment in different ratios. Hold bitcoin in larger proportion and eth, ltc, xmr, etc in respective order. Holding some fiat like 20% of your total asset in fiat could be helpful to buy back cheap bitcoin/altcoin during huge price correction.

It all depends on what it is you want to make money off of, how active you want to be with your investment, and what kinds of risks you're willing to take to get various types of returns. I also don't know why you're asking a public board for investment advice but whatever, I'll try to contribute.

Active investments:
Bitcoin trading - Trading Bitcoin back and forth on exchanges to make a profit off of whatever movements occur. Decent amount of risk with low returns short-term but good long-term trends.
Altcoin trading - Trading various altcoins back on forth on exchanges to make a profit (in Bitcoin). Medium risk with high reward, great short-term trends but very timing dependent, might get left holding a bag on a worthless token.
Starting a business - Starting your own business. Medium risk high reward, assuming that your business takes off.

Passive investments:
Loaning - Loaning Bitcoin to other people. High risk low reward, lots of defaults and will likely not be paid back. Skip, in my opinion.
Investment in a gambling site - Investing Bitcoin into gambling websites for a return. Low risk (most of the time) low reward, better for large investments.

I'm not telling you how to use your money, I'm giving you potential ideas and personal perceptions. This is anecdotal and in no way guaranteed to see happen.

In my own opinion, I refer you to bitcoin alone, the money you have now is not just a joke figure right? If I have that amount of money, I will franchise one of the most popular fast food chain here in my country. And if there is still some remaining $ I'll put it no doubt with bitcoin. In a less 10 years you can just double that amount easily or even triple it that fast. But if you want to focus with crypto's go for ETH and BTC.

No way. MAID is extremely risky. They had years, and years to prove their project was viable. They never got to the point where you could say "okay, these guys are making something solid that will end up in a real product". A lot of investors losing patience with their delays.

You can always try BCC. It could be a sleeping giant that wakes when something goes wrong in the bitcoin world. I'm not joking here, having some BCC could potentially save you from losses in case of a huge bitcoin crash, because I believe if BTC goes down by a lot BCC will launch.

BTC is still the best investment right now, but I also own some LTC, BCC and other smaller altcoins. With 500k to invest I'd buy land just to be safe and put the rest into BTC.

Even if everyone is suggesting you some coins, I would advise you to diversify your investment in at least 30 to 40 investment options and you can put some amount in strong coins from the market and also consider other parallel investment opportunities such as Blockchain/Bitcoin startups, Crypto currency / Fiat ATMs, promising ICOs etc. Please spend maximum time in doing your research, doesn't matter even if it takes 6+ months but look for the long term goals and throughout security.

That's a lot of money to begin with. If I were you, I'll just invest 50% of if into the crypto world like BTC, ETH, LTC and XRP. Or even in and ICO. You just need to do a lot of research though. The rest for none crypto's like stocks, bonds and Mutual Funds.

Some of you guys seem to doubt OP, but he may actually have $500,000. It isn't unrealistic for a young person to inherit a lot of money and want to know what to do with it. Other scenarios are possible as well. OP is probably young though because someone with that kind of money would have thought about that kind of thing years ago. If OP is old, well, you always have to start somewhere. Since OP wasn't specific, I will assume that the $500,000 is his entire net worth in addition to a house that OP lives in and he has paid off completely. If I am wrong then correct me. If you do have any debts then it would be prudent to eliminate those first.

If I were you I'd invest from $62,500 to $125,000 in Bitcoin. You are on a Bitcoin forum so I'm assuming you probably know a thing or two about Bitcoin and how it works. Since you are asking about investing I wouldn't recommend investing in altcoins or trading. If you want to you probably could look into it at least and see if it is for you, but be careful lots of people probably lose money or win less than if they just bought and held.

The rest of your money I wouldn't even put into cryptocurrency at all. While it may be awesome to be super rich it would suck 100 times more to lose everything on one investment. I believe Bitcoin will be profitable so I definitely put like 12.5% of my net worth in it. However, sometimes life can be a bitch and unexpected things happen.

If you haven't started a Roth IRA you should probably do it. Super cool way to collect capital gains with 0% tax. You should also consider a health savings account or 401K if you have a source of income and assuming you are in a higher tax bracket.

With $200,000ish I would put that into a brokerage account and put a majority of it into something safe such as S&P 500 or Dow Jones. There are some pretty cool ETFs you can find out there. With that $200,000 alone it is safe to say you can make anywhere between $14,000 to $20,000 a year on average which is enough to live comfortably assuming you have a house.

With the remaining $175,000 I would invest in some more risky things such as stocks, possibly some real estate, collectibles, be an angel investor, or start a business. You could even be generous and give some to me if you'd like.  ;D

Many (most?) "investors" in bitcoin do not know what they are doing. The fact that they are relying on it as an investment is a good example. If you want to try bitcoin (highly recommended before buying a bunch) then buy one, and spend it online the way God and Satoshi intended. Find out why bitcoin is superior to cash, not just more valuable.

The big question is: which one. I have tried some in the past and some of them turned into scams or were sold to another team that couldn't promote it well enough. There are many decent coins, like Ripple or Dash, but you never know what becomes of them in a year or 2. It's a gamble.

So what is the purpose of your investment? What is the target? How much risk you are willing to take?

With a $500.000 investment you don't need to worry about doing trades often to make profit. You can just buy Bitcoins and hold it for some time. You will surely have a big income for a long time by doing this. Trade with AltCoins would be just necessary if your bankroll would be smaller, as you have much money it's a desnecessary risk in my opinion as you can lose money this way too.

Anyways, depending on your risk appetite, I would keep a larger/smaller stack that is equally spaced between Bitcoin, Ethereum and AiCoin as my "keep value / reach minimum desired amount of profit" stash. This could be as much as 70% or as little as 50% or less if you just want to preserve your capital while placing more "high risk very hard reward" bets on altcoin projects. AiCoin is extremely likely to outperform BTC and ETH with a similar or lower draw-down than both of those due to the nature of the coin.

As far as promising altcoin projects with more potential  risk/reward go, Waves is on the moderate side in terms of risk/reward and could hold a slightly larger position.

Something like Presearch could explode if they market and develop it properly, especially with all the controversy around Google currently and the issues with big tech profiting off of individual users without really sharing the pie.

SONM is rock-bottom currently due to pretty large-scaled FUD campaigns, which in my opinion were ungrounded. If it traced the performance of Golem (a similar project), it could see price increases from 2x to 30x within half a year with a fairly low chance for further draw-down from its current price.

Ark is also a very promising project due to the announced SmartBridge feature, it's still not around it's May ATH and may or may not drop in the short-term, but it's unlikely that it's anywhere near its end right now.
