How come Mc Gregor fight a legendary boxer like Floyd Maywheather wherein Mc Gregor doesn't have any experienced in Professional boxing.

Because money talks lol. People talk about this fight as though it isn't fixed - hilarious!

It is all about the money. Under normal circumstances, he would need to defeat a few competent pro boxers before having the opportunity to fight someone like Mayweather. But because of how much interest the match can attract, they're able to pull it off.

Though McGregor's skills are awesome in octagon, don't forget that it'll be a boxing match and Mayweather is the legend in boxing. He doesn't care about hitting or smashing the opponent, he just want to win and take the bounty. My bet is on Mayweather and I know that I'll win big.

Say what you want, but McGregor is going to make that fight entertaining to watch, and if he wins that's gonna be the end of boxing  ;D ;D

I have been watching Muhammed Ali fights on youtube this last weekend. I have to say that boxing is nothing like MMA. So long as Mayweather stays defensive and wears out the kid rookie I'm sure he will win in each and every round. Connor doesn't stand a chance in hell.

Every fighter I've talked to says that Floyd will just crush Mayweather but I somehow hope otherwise. Not that I love Mayweather but because I hate Floyd, I guess :)

I believe that all the people that end up paying for this fight will be so disappointed... For example, the gloves are too damn big, that's not real fighting.

I love the notorious but he has ZERO chance against Floyd. First proffesional boxing match against the greatest boxer of this time. What else can we expect. Boxing is bound by rules that Floyd is already a master. Conor can beat Floyd in a street fight but if bound by boxing rules, I can't see a fight in there. Im rooting for Connor for an upset but i just can't see it happening.

Mayweather is most certainly boring, but I don't think he is lazy. He is smart.

Maybe in this i will choose floyd because he is intelligent he knows how to run and avoid punches of his opponent that land to his face. So thats why he have no lose after now and he came a legendary boxer. I mc gregor i think he always knows is talking how to win and i not know if have a plan to defeat floyd.

It is most probably because of money. It will be a combination of mma and boxing fans so there will be lots of money . I would really want Mayweather to lose, and I am a Mc Gregor fan but i think Maywesther will win this fight.  I'd bet on Floyd surely,  if he wins my money wins., if he loses I'll still be happy.😀😀

I think Mayweather is a master of the ring, but McGregor will have done his homework and will know what it takes to beat him. Whether he can pull it off or not...well you gotta tune in to find out! Bring it on!

Who wins? I think if the fight comes to decision, it will always be Mayweather for one reason money can buy everthing even the integrity of judges.

Floyd will win this but since it is boxing there is always a slim chance something unforseen happens, fixing, lucky punch, whatever. This is a showfight, desined to make as much money as possible from pay per view...

First it is the skills and the boastfulness of Mcgregor second is the money that will be in the match up. For me it is only good although Mcgregor has no experienced in pro boxing but he has skills in boxing so he can fight and his style is kind of orthodox .

McGregor got some good punches in, when he nailed that uppercut early on I thought he might actually take it but by round 6 he was exhausted. Mayweather just dodged and ducked and it was impossible to get a hit in. When he's crouched over, the only way to land a hit is to expose yourself or hit the back which is illegal. Kind of a loophole if you ask me.

Still it takes skill, gotta hand it to Mayweather. It was a good showing.

Mayweather will win over mcgregor. Mcgregor is a great mix martial arts fighter but it is a boxing match. Even I don't like mayweather I still know that he has the advantage on this fight.

If there IS a rematch which somehow I doubt, I think McGregor would do well to just sit back and force MayWeather to come at him. He was stronger in the earlier rounds when he did that. Mayweather is good at dodging but if McGregor would've just blocked and landed more counter punches instead of throwing constant misses and tiring himself out, he'd deprive Mayweather of the reaction based plays. Remember when Conor put his arms behind his back and stood there?

My favorite moment is probably that, then later in the fight when Mayweather Smiled at him and Conor stuck out his tongue like a madman.

It is still impressive though that he lasted 10 rounds with a world champion. Even more amazing is that he got a shot to fight for the world champion title when he never even boxed before in his life.

Agreed, I think he forgot his strategy in there too, he started off playing one way and by round 4 he started to get frustrated.

It was a fixed game in my opinion, mayweather could have made mcgregor knock out from round 2 but he delayed it for the public

I think I am favor with Mayweather because it is boxing, mayweather can survived in 12 rounds but McGregor cannot. So that I am favor with Mayweather.

I want McGregor to win but Mayweather has the experience in the boxing ring. If McGregor could win, it would make difference but if Mayweather wins, it is normal for a boxer like him smashing a MMA fight with no experience in professional boxing.

Unbalanced fight, boxers have greater stamina than ufc fighters.

You could see McGregor wanting to kick so bad... He lasted 10 rounds on that ring against a professional boxer, I doubt if Mayweather could last one on the octagon. Maybe a kick boxing match to balance things up would suit better. But Mayweather is afraid to come out of his waters, unlike McGregor.

There were a couple of times where you could see he got angry that he couldn't actually fight him, when they grappled he could've picked floyd up slammed him and literally kill him. I can't say I blame him. Mayweather wouldn't stand a chance if he couldn't ball up and hug McGreggor any time he needed his black ref friend to stop the fight, seriously that ref looks like he probably knew Mayweather Sr. and favored him soooo bad.

A ton of times McGregor would get called out for hitting Floyd in the back of the head, well, when he makes it so his head is at shin level, there's no other way to attack him, lol. Floyd is skilled, yes, but the thing he really did to get 50-0 was learn how to abuse the limits of what's legally permissible in boxing.

My conclusion is Boxing is a sport for pussies, the best strategy is to dodge, duck, hug the opponent until they're tired then punch them two or three times. UFC is respectable but boxing is too constrictive to where it's a joke in my eyes.


Charlie Zelenoff is the best boxer of all time anyway, his record is way better than Mayweather at 160-0, he even beat Mayweather's dad up, dude's a straight beast.

But was not disapointed. Lost some money but hey

This match from the beginning is a fight where the competitors are fighting for their pride, mc gregor fought mayweather in a field where he is not at his best, he knows it and we all know it as well, but still he continued to fight knowing this. He is a fighter, a champion who will fight for his honor and I salute him for standing up. He may have lost the fight but he never lost his pride.

Boxing isn't Connors thing. Of course he'd lose the fight. But its a very courageous approach maybe one day we'll see more fights against MMA fighter and Boxer in an octagon. Floyd versus Jon Jones would be a match.

I don't fancy boxing but i can understand the hype. It's an organization that worths hundreds of million dollars that's why we saw even the littlest detail about it through months.

This match was made for the organizers. Nothing surprising to see the billion reached. It's just so sad for those who give themselves, without ever giving in to the show.

Yes its really about the money specially when it concerns Mayweather he not nicknamed "Money" for nothing.

It was just a grand 'money scheme' through which they have both gotten yet a little bit wealthier. It was an okay match to watch, but nothing really spectacular and quite predictable also, and of course we all knew the outcome.
