Title: LTC falling since August 2nd. Why?
Post by: sweetbet on August 08, 2017, 09:30:17 AM
Litecoin is meant to be one of the top alt coins out there, but it has been steadily falling since August 2nd. What's going on with this coin, and when do you expect it to start climbing back up?

To me this seems more like the natural movements of a coin, it may be possible that investors think that bitcoin and bitcoin cash offers better opportunities to profit at the moment and they are exchanging their holdings of litecoin for holdings of those two coins with the hopes of making money that way.

Why do you look dizzy with the fall of LTC prices?
I think this is the right time to buy it cheaply.
LTC is a coin that has a strong community. Relax and take your profit in next month.  :D

It's actually keeping and even little increasing USD value in past days.
Nearly $50 is not so bad. Especially for a coin with close to zero use cases.
I don't see why it should rise.

LTC mooned mostly because of Segwit. Now Bitcoin has segwit too and Litecoin is not as attractive as before. At least for now.

I think in part because the price of BTC has risen so high in the last few days that it makes the LTC fall off very fast and hard to recover, investors have sold altcoin in exchange for BTC, so not only LTC decreases all altcoin is reduced

Currently LTC prices are starting to increase again, and i am optimistic LTC will continue to increase and can compete with some other big coin in the crypto market.

Litecoin had segwit, that's why price increased. Now Bitcoin is having a segwit, no one need Litecoin anymore. They have to do something new.

You should take advanadvantage of the price dip to buy more coins. Vitality is part and parcel of crypto trading and investment. The price is never static and it will happen  that the price could move steeply in any direction. Litecoin has a good project, it will rebound.

I did not see any falling value of LTC. BTC-LTC, definitely yes... but as per USD - LTC, the price is ridicously stable. Market price is 46-50$ as of the moment.

it has been steadily falling since August 2nd.

what you say does not match what the charts show:

unless you are just looking at the LTC/BTC market and in that case i have to say the drop wasn't as big, and it is more like a small change to match the USD value since LTC is mostly being traded with fiat like bitcoin does.

A lot of coins are falling now. Bitcoin is stronger than ever and people trade their altcoins for Bitcoins, which will pump Bitcoin even more.

Litecoin is very undervalued and the developer really need to injection alot of fund to it before we would see significant price up movement. Many traders has seen good Light on this project just that the coin refuse to move and remain neutral. Though since yesterday there is a push from $43 to around $49 this morning.  I Think now is the best time to buy and hold for long term.

After the successful implementation of Segwit in BTC, LTC loses one of its core advantages but still these days it was riding well with the growth of BTC

Yes, it has been going down, but seems it is beginning to go up again. As some say, it is due to BTC raising at a higher pace, plus many people probably sold their LTC for BTC to get BCC/BCH along with their BTC. Now that that is over and BTC will probably stabilize or go down, LTC is likely to go up.

I am holding mine at least.

Not only Litecoin is altcoin falldown, you can see most altcoin on market also falldown after the price of Bitcoin breakout resistance line at $3000 and pump to high price. But I have checked again the rate USD/LTC not have more change, still high than in past time :)

Because starting next few days is a good time to buy back litecoin. Decrease or increase is common in exchange rates. Whatever happens, having litecoin is a way to get profit in trading.

Why do you feel dizzy with the collapse of the LTC price?
I think this is the right time to buy it cheap.
I believe LTC will return stronger at the end of the month
There are those that have bigger investments in Litecoin than in Bitcoin because they think  it can pump harder so maybe he is nervous because LTC has lost some value against bitcoin, but I think this is only natural, right now the hottest investment is bitcoin with all the talk there was about the fork and things like that, but eventually LTC is going to go up once again after things calm down.

This is normally expected in trading. As people see the price reducing, the fear and start dumping their coins. The same happens when the price starts to go up, as the price begin to increase, investors start buying in hope that the price will get to a higher point that they can't buy so they need to buy making the price keep rising as more investors buy the coin and hold.
If the early investors start dumping then the reverse occurs so it's just an interesting something.

LTC badly needs a good restructuring, new approach, new marketing. I admire this coin and I also trust it. But it has been overtaken by so many new shitcoins that it is almost set aside as useless. But it has a name already. LTC is trusted by many people. I think this will climb back for sure.

Ltc will rose its price for sure actually this is the normal fluctuation of LTC in the exchange. As I can observe still many investors has a trust on this coin and still it is on the top cryptocurrency. So, I believe it will increase the value.

Very difficult to predict Litecoin.I think this coin growth is very slow. There are no changed LTC.I hold some LTC few months ago but profit is big zero. Finally I should attempt to sell all my LTC.

if you in the long term hold ltc can be a good choice for investment, just keep buying littl by little then store it inside your wallet never to attempt
selling it until it reach the value of your desired almost everything inside crypto are for a long term goal especially those who got good support
from big investors.

you have ,ade the best move by sold all of your litecoin, there is not a lot of people interested to buy it again. bitcoin segwit already locked in. that means they don't need the litecoin as another pay to make the fast transaction.

As I can observe there are still many investors who have a belief in this currency and still it is on top cryptocurrency. LTC will surely increase the price back to the real this is the normal fluctuation of LTC in exchange.

I believe litecoin developer decided to focus on the currency and make some improvements, so we'll se the price going up after some time. And I don't think we can say the price is falling, because there are minor changes. I'd say it's just stable around $50. I bought ltc for $20, so I don't regret anyway.

I think it doesn't work like this, because look at dogecoin's ridiculous price, although:
DOGE=Secure-fast-cheap transactions + big community of users.

The reason make Litecoin falldown at now just by the scenario of whales want dip price all altcoin top 10 or very potential, you can see top 10 altcoin in May and June are drop down to lowest price, even base price before pumped in May, as Factom.

Nothing new is going to happen in September to LTC. They are going to dump badly in my opinion.
I don’t get it why people are investing into LTC when a coin like bitcoin is available and is pumping continuously. Just leave these altcoins and start investing into something that is worth investing.

I bought a small amount of LTC last night because its become to expensive to convert fiat into BTC just to use it to buy altcoins.  I'm debating whether I want to hodl the LTC I have for now or maybe buy something like ARK or OMG.

Litecoin still has another advantage, it is community is not divided, most people prefer core, but some are in favor of bitcoin cash and some prefer the next fork that is coming in the form of Segwit2x, so the unity of its community is something that could make litecoin a very strong coin in the future.

To be honest, just about anything compared to BTC over the last several weeks will appear to have fallen.  BTC's consistent rise these last few weeks has been amazing and comparing other coins to it right now isn't really fair.

Why? What is so specially about September to LTC? Are you thinking because of the Segwit activation around 2nd week of this month, people are going back to LTC in September and dump bitcoins? I don't think so? I believed that LTC has a good future, but people now are overlooking it and would rather get BCC or ETH as investment. LTC has been here for long but I haven't seen it get the proper recognition that it deserves. I even don't know if it can reach $50 at the end of the year. And it is falling because people are buying bitcoin now in anticipation of a price hike once Segwit has been activated.

I do not think LTC will gain much more against bitcoin it is already so high People do not really see it as the number 2 to bitcoin anymore ethereum has stolen that spot from it and now ltc is just the bitcoin alternative? but with bitcoin cash now LTC is not even that anymore

LTC is one of those coins that stay stable for several months, then shoot up like crazy. I suspect people dont want to keep their money in LTC for so long when there are so many sweet opportunities around. WHy would you freeze your money in LTC now? I'd rather buy something like Tenx, CVC, OMG.

Title: Re: LTC falling since August 2nd. Why?

I'm not really worry about LTC falling price, i guess everyone dump LTC just to get BTC and then sell to fiat. In few months LTC price will climb back to good price. LTC also have huge community and mass adoption in web commerce, there are only BTC, Ethereum, LTC, and doge(small percent) that accepted as a payment. It's better to get natural growing. Btw what 's your opinion if litecoin have smart contract feature?

Coblee once mentioned the possibility of adding smart contract feature to LTC, few weeks ago.

Not sure how it's going. Let's wait.
