Title: Why some old clients follow hard-fork chain?
Post by: amaclin1 on August 09, 2017, 06:29:54 AM
Let us take https://bitnodes.21.co/nodes/?q=Bitcoin+XT
or even https://bitnodes.21.co/nodes/?q=%2FBitcoin+XT%3A0.11.0G

You see some nodes have blockheight 478*** - they are on hard-fork chain
Some others are on mainchain and their node height is 479***

The client is old enough - it does not know anything about bcc-fork
Why these nodes with blockheight 478*** are not synced?

UPD: ok, I see that some of them have NODE_CASH flags set and some do not have.

The developers of BCash went and submitted patches to XT, unlimited, etc. to turn them into bcash notes.  So that is likely what you are seeing.
