Proper Pitting Procedure:
1. Deposit your bitcoins into the pit at CLOSED .

*If you want to avoid fees on small transactions, use a Bitcoin client <= .3.20. (http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.3.20/)

2. Wait for someone else to put bitcoins into the pit. When the BTC in the pit is greater than, or equal to your coins, plus 10%, you shall be paid.

3. Profit, and enjoy pitting!

Each round in the pit lasts a set period of time, during which anyone may deposit bitcoins, any time they want, but only exactly .25BTC. At the end of each round, any remaining coins in the pit will divided equally among the unpaid users, less a 2.5% fee.

FYI, payouts are happening through MyBitcoin, so it appears to be sending from a different address than it is receiving them on. I'll move to the standard client after this round.

The new round began about 30 minutes ago, and it's an extended 12 hour round!

Got paid out and transaction confirmed in the first round in less than ten minutes. Throwing in for another round before I knock off for the night. Go for it! Almost nothing to lose. :)

The first round payed a little slower, but I still trust this second one. Nice game :D for all the fearsome out there, with these ratios u can't lose :D

I just joined in.  I like the faster moving nature of the 1.1x payouts.

Actually the round ended 15 minutes earlier than offered... I'm not liking this.


EDIT: Please chech the block explorer, you closed the round before 8 EST and a new deposit appeared before that hour.

Loving this a lot. Might I suggest changing the time limit or forking it perhaps? I feel this would be more suited to a longer time limit such as ending a few days after the last deposit. With double trouble games it slows down quickly due to how fast the gap grows, but with 1.1x that gap would grow very slowly encouraging quick redeposits.

I think he had the time right...I didn't see the end time in the first post, so thought the round was active.

And that is a good idea indeed.

Sorry about the bloody mess. Someone made me aware of the difference between Eastern Standard Time and Eastern Daylight Time, leading to tons of confusion.

What I, and some people thought was going on: It began at 5:15 (EDT), and it ended 8:00 (EDT).
What was technically right by the statements: It should have began at 6:15 EDT, and it should have ended 9:00 EDT.

When I got back to update the spreadsheet, I mistakenly thought that the round had ended, due to the EST/EDT difference that someone in the sheet made me aware of. There are two ways to approach this: Go with what's technically right, and try to fix stuff, or to declare dictatorship in the interests of a clean solution. In the interests of being straightforward, I went for remediation in the name of truth.

Edit: I'll run a 48 hour round from 10:00 EDT today until 10:00 EDT on June 24th.

I suggest you give times in UTC as well. It's a good timezone to use for coordination, since everyone only has to keep track of one time difference. :)

This round is still running, and it's running for over 36 more hours. With only a 1.1x multiplication rate, things move! Check out the previous rounds and you'll see!

I'm planning on doing an equal input round next, one that'll keep things moving. It'd be interesting.

Less than 24 hours remaining until this round ends! Unlike Mt. Gox, more than 10% of the people here regain access to their funds!

We're going to run a new type of round from 11:00 EDT (6/24) until 10EDT tomorrow (6/25).

In this round, the ONLY amount of bitcoins that you put in is .25BTC at a time, because the reason these get stuck is that some people will put in a large amount, and some people will put in a small amount of bitcoins. If you model this in a spreadsheet, this is the most sustainable type of pyramid. For the first ten people, only one is unpaid at any given moment. For the next ten, two, and so on and so forth.
