Title: BCC wasn't enough
Post by: kryptqnick on August 14, 2017, 08:39:11 AM
Perhaps this topic belongs to altcoin discussion, I guess that depends on one's personal position whether forks from btc are considered to be bitcoin. I looked through the posts on the first page of this thread and didn't find a discussion about another upcoming fork. Ladies and gentlemen, take a look at something else from the creators of bitcoin cash - bitcoin unlimited! That's right! They decided to go for this option of dealing with transactions as well. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-unlimited/. The price is high but the volume's low. What do you think of this one?

there is no topic about it because this is old news! very old in fact.

this is BU tokens (more like a virtual promise) that bitfinex in March which is about 5 months ago when the hashrate started signalling for BU support. it was like this: 35% SegWit, 30% BU, 35% others or nothing.
Bitfinex just added that market to make profit and people like always rushed to trade (pump and dump) it for profit!

i am surprised about why it is still active though! BU is now BCH, there shouldn't even be a separate market for it!!

Bitcoin Unlimited doesn't actually exists, it's just a speculation market for a possible future token, also don't understand why it still trades...

I know it's been in development for some time but I thought that maybe it is going to be released soon. Besides, the prices started to grow high only a few days ago, it cost $250 on 08/11 and went up to $750 two days later. Can it really end up being nothing and not being released at all? Then why do we see such big price pumps. It's 35% up on coinmarketcap right now. However, the trading volume is rather low.

I think this is just a meaningless game in crypto life, because BCC will not replace Btc, I am sure that in the next few years BCC will become the garbage of Altcoin in the future, which will be left behind by all investors in it and They will continue to advance for Btc.

i am not closely following BU development but i believe Bitcoin Unlimited merged itself into Bitcoin Cash. they both wanted the same thing, the same hard fork with the same block size (although a bit different approach to the final block size). this means BU should not even be listed on any exchange!

as for price, if you own an exchange you can put up any virtual market and give people the option for trading it and that thing will gain an arbitrary value. you can even put up fake volume and fake orders. after all there is no coin to sell so the sell orders are FAKE!

It was an option to make a lot of people happy. The fact is that Bitcoin cash is no different than any other brand new Alt coin. But what it did was two things, it gave people something to focus on while the actual Code changes went through without opposition, and it gave those  that felt that Bitcoin was unsaveable a new place to rest their head.

Woweee another one I didn't pay attention to really. That is pretty crazy if they are going to release that, with another potential Hard Fork coming up in November, what if someone releaseBitcoin Unlimited? We will have 4 different Bitcoins then?

This is getting out of hand....

Just no. Bitcoin Unlimited is a client, not a coin. It runs on the Bitcoin Core chain, if you have an older version of BU, while newer versions run on the Bitcoin Cash chain.
