Oh. I got too excited there. Freakin clickbait articles. It's just an apple accessories store in Belarus named “Apple cafeConnect”, ladies and gentlemen, not Apple Inc. Still good news, but yeah. It's not the official Apple company that started accepting bitcoin and ethereum. Oh well, for now, one can only dream of such tech giants accepting cryptocurrencies for payments.

Not sure if OP actually read the article and not only the headline.

When I saw title, I expected that may be clickbait, and I was right. This shop is not owned by Apple inc. It's just single shop in Belarus! Anyway, everytime when business starts to accept bitcoins, it's positive news. And I never heard that bitcoin is popular in Belarus, so it's a bit strange that this shop started to accept it.

Ive fallen on the trap too. ;D I did thought that Apple Inc. do really announce that they do accept BTC and ETH. This is why I did click the link and ending up on reading the misleading information since its just an another store which do accept crypto for their Apple accessories same as you said. Good for them and for those people who do live near on that place. If this thing would happen globally or even on Apple Inc. Itself then it would really be a huge step-up.

Hahaha just as everyone else I thought it was Apple Inc. Well, we should encourage small businesses to accept bitcoins too. It's still a start

You'd have thought that with all the [BREAKING NEWS] threads you've made, at least one of them would actually be breaking news.  Unfortuntely none of them have been.

This is irrelevant.  It's just one store which doesn't even seem to sell the major Apple products.

Apple is generally quite wary about cryptocurrencies, as you can tell from the lack of crypto-related apps on the App Store (which is far more regulated than the Play Store).

as a rule of thumb whenever you see an article from a less known news site or generally a news article with ethereum in it, you should disregard it because it is either a big fat lie or a very exaggerated half truth. :)

There are hundred of crypto apps on the App Store. Many that do not appear on my wife's Android Play Store.

LOL, even though it is a click bait, it is still a good news, and it is a good marketing for their business, although the payment process is different, but a win win situation for the customer, a buyer pays local fiat and get a discount through Bitcoin or Ethereum. A start of acceptance of Bitcoin in their community.

It is just a single service center in Belarus, probably run by third party vendors. BTW, is Bitcoin 100% legal in Belarus? The last time I heard, the Bitcoin users were facing a lot of persecution in the neighboring nations such as Russia and Ukraine. Just a few days back, the Ukrainian authorities raided a Bitcoin mining farm somewhere in that country and seized the equipment.

That's a real progress for Apple. I was wandering how they will creat such option :) that was expected, actually, because of Apple is always following tendention and they tends makers, to be real.

Apple will never start accepting cryptocurrencies before android. They didnt even want to crypto apps of their appstore for years. Android leads when it comes to this.

that's a great news for us. it has been created a new window for the Bitcoin users. Bitcoin is becoming day by day payment tool in many areas. after food panda, KFC, Macdonalds and a number of prominent sites are accepting Bitcoin as a payment tool. now apple store also accepting Bitcoin for the payment purposes. so it can be said that Bitcoin is getting a strong and accepted currency in the virtual world.
this is the time to be legalized all over the world so that every country's people will get the equal benefit through this system. I think within few years, it will be a global currency.

I am sure OP got so excited considering that Apple is a very big company and anything that Apple do can be a big news. Now, I am also hoping that a time will come when the real Apple will look at Bitcoin with some eagerness. An d not just Apple actually but also other companies especially those who are online like Facebook and Twitter will include Bitcoin as payment choices. That will be a big news, indeed! meanwhile, let's be contented for now with this small apple we have on the net.

True or not it will happen in most of the companies big or small because it is the future of payment in the digital world, we need a digital money that transfers fast and cheap and that is Bitcoin and any other cryptocurrencies is doing since then, so I am not shock that almost all of the thing that accepts payment started to recognize Bitcoin as a true and efficient payment platform.

Bummer that it was clickbait.  A few companies accept Bitcoin like Overstock.com but really they're out of the public's eye.  As soon as Amazon, Apple, or another big company publicly declares acceptance of bitcoin it'll drive awareness across the globe and thus drive up demand.

The title of topic is not right, because apply is not accepting bitcoin, well you just become happy by reading news, you better check the news on Google to make sure that it’s true or not, the true news is  Apple start accepting apps of bitcoins, like bitcoin wallets and other. And this is also pretty much good step for bitcoin users who have I phone.

I would say that the heading is a bit misleading,Apple Shop only in Belarus started accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum and not the entire store outlets,i am sure there will be a time in the future that there will be more shops accepting bitcoin in the future,but it could take a very long time for that to happen .

Anyway, it is of course a great sign that Bitcoin is spreading as a worldwide payment gateway. Apple stores starting to accept it - even if not official ones - will bring additional attention to Apple itself and their possible relation with Bitcoin.

Yeah, I thought it was the company accepting bitcoin but just a store in a place. I just hope they accepted bitcoin later this year because it is really hitting the popularity board. As you've said, it will be having a good drive up the demand.

This isn't a full implementation it is probably the move by the manager of that branch in Belarus. I liked the idea pay 1% in fiat and 99% in btc or eth.
I think the idea behind keeping the btc as short term assets might me to repay the supplier. What the store can do is hold bitcoin and when they need to make the payment to the supplier they can sell these cryptos.
A better idea would be to give customers 5% off is they purchase using bitcoin otherwise no one would really use it. Not a apple fan but this move can help the market to develop.

OP, please edit the title to "Apple Shop in Belarus". That is a clickbait title that is making some people believe that the app store is the one accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum as payments.

I can't believe Uber already did... that shocks me as Uber was always slow to change payment methods when I used them a couple years ago. Seems as though they have changed a lot since then.

Erm, try reading the article. Apple isn't actually accepting bitcoins. It's just some 3rd party vendor. If your local electronics store started accepting bitcoins and they sold macs that would be the equivalent to this bullshit click bait article.

If this is true then another victory and another achievements indeed for the bitcoin history. This is possible because it will be a safe and convenient way of transactions. I hope it will be this easy in some establishment and other services too.

You are right because Apple is the #1 brand in the world according to some estimates. The fact that Apple accepts Bitcoins means any business can!

Don't open this link, without opening this link I am 100% sure it's a spam, this is one of the online marketing tricks, where the publisher gets money every time you visit the link and click on the ads. They often make news of what we search and put it so we are tempted to see and then they make us the see ads. Per click or cost per click they make monkey, either the Op failed to see it or he's earnings thorough it, anyways don't open it. Ps why would apple accept it, it's yet not legal.

Glad that you clarified that pretty quickly, but there was also news of Apple accepting an alt in its app store? Can't remember exactly which one was it, but is there any truth to it or its just a rumor as well?

Haha nice! That's far from me so I don't think I will ever have the chance to buy an apple product using bitcoin unless Apple officially make bitcoin and Ethereum.

If Apple did ever accept bitcoin and/or ethereum pretty sure a lot of companies will follow suit, especially ones that are also relate to technology. It would be petty nice to be able to buy a new macbook using bitcoin.

I haven't read any news that Apple announced that they are ready to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I think it is just a hoax or the OP just wanted to gain some attention by posting this thread. The news is not reliable enough and it seems very suspicious.

Good to see that one of the world’s biggest companies has considered the idea of accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum as a form of payment. I believe that other companies follow up soon, with lots and lots of them later on. Let’s just watch and see.

Then if this should happen and the implementation is on a large scale, then I would be very happy and it won't take too long for other competitors to start following suit in this. But news like this, they tend to leak the news then wait for the reaction of the people before setting the implementation in motion which might take months or years to put the necessary infrastructure in place.
