Bill Gates stated that the Bitcoin is the future and that it is better than currency. Would you assume that his statement (as one of the many reasons) added value on Bitcoin which made it stronger and more stable in the system?  :)

I think it is true in part. Our world is growing, technology is the direction everyone needs, so bitcoin can be a common currency in the future.

all the talks about bitcoin in the media, being on the first page of financial newspapers, these famous characters talking about bitcoin, the speculations saying it will be $50,000, etc are all good and have helped this rise and helped "get the word out" but the main reason for this rise in my opinion is the end of scaling debate.

we have had it for years and that has been keeping bitcoin back. imagine a spring that wants to be released but you keep putting pressure on it. as soon as you let go that spring will jump up to the sky. that is what happens to bitcoin ;)

He has earned enough money in his life and when you are old, you like to stay with old methods. It is a psychological fact. May be, that is why he wants to use cash.

Guys, do you realize that this quote of Bill Gates about Bitcoin is over 2 years old? It has been known for a long time.
I don't see any direct impact this quote had/will have on the price of bitcoin, it is just some random quote which might change trade pattern and boost bitcoin for a week at that time.

Yeah, I've been watching some videos about bitcoin the past month and then this video is one of the suggested video that appeared.

As you've said, this statement is from 2 years ago and I don't see any changes at the bitcoin price the time he stated that. And also, as you've said, he is a visionary so I think he will not be interested on these digital currency.

As the richest man in the world, many people would sure follow his words and would start going into the hype train without researching about the matter. That's where price comes from, FOMO. Added value, yes perhaps, but stronger? With weak hands, no.


Some billionaires do understand the significance of bitcoin in the coming years since they know that every year, the USD is getting weaker and weaker hence they start hyping some potentially stronger asset before they go all in to that for the mean time. Also, McAfee is not like Warren Buffett who still believes in age old practices for money. This is 2017 and almost everything is ran and secured by computers.

Yes, judging by the growth of Bitcoin is definitely better than the local currency. With Blockchain technology, people need not worry because Bitcoin is very safe. And now ordinary people start looking for Bitcoin. This is obviously very interesting.

It sure adds a lot to the reputation of bitcoin if famous (and trusted) people talk positive about it and even support it. I think that once everything is more streamlined and everything is fool-proof to set up, more and more people will get into bitcoin.  We all have to admit, most of the things about bitcoin seem easy and understandable for us but it has to be as easy as in like: there is a bill with either a 1,5,10,50 or 100 on it, pretty much everyone can understand that.

People were scared of bitcoins because they thought it was some kind of ponzi but since Mr Microsoft and McAfee already spoke about bitcoins, people suddenly became confident. Those have added value to BTC.

Those who don't know btc definitely know who Bill Gates is and one thing for sure, his words are hard not to believe for skepticals. I fully agree. The main driving force for this latest surge in Bitcoin value is the end of the long-running scaling debate. At least now we know what can happen in case like this and this coming November will not anymore be of big concern. All of these talks in the media add more excitement and limelight to Bitcoin but they are talking about it because of the surge in value and this creates a certain cycle. But beware, once there can be a dump in value, the media would immediately suggest that it can be the end of the bubble.

Bill Gates is entitled to his opinion and also to share his thoughts so also several others of people that have spoken in their personal capacity but unfortunately that will not happen of something's are not put in place and the question to ask is, what is he doing to ensure that future is achieved? Because as the richest man in the world, he certainly does have the ears of people that matter in the world political space.

Bill Gates deserves to say that bitcoin is the future for the following reasons:
1. Price and value Bitcoin is designed to increase over time
2. Saturation in using paper money
3. Wall Street / The Giant Company still has not plunged into the world of Bitcoin
4. Paper currency increasingly unused and will be replaced with digital payments
5. The Global Reserve Currency is losing its value, while Bitcoin's value is growing

That being said, the scaling debate end and hard fork survival is probably what led to the price spike, not an old Bill Gates quote.

He does have a point most especially about those less fortunate people, they would really have a hard time if the currency they have keeps going up and down. But at least he acknowledges bitcoin that it is better than cash but maybe in the future or in time it will be better than cash too.

Stable bitcoin and all other crypto currency will never happen. Until there is no centralized control, and this is contrary to the concept of crypto currencies. But it doesn't bother me I'm used to it and the stability of bitcoin may even scare some of the users earn on speculation.

No, I do not think so. Although he is a famous person who has affected the world in many ways, I do not think that he can make the price of bitcoin increasing or decreasing. I do not oppose your point. Doubtlessly, the prices of bitcoins keep on fluctuating with time but the prices tend to increase more than they decrease. It can be hard of some bitcoin holders but I suggest them staying patient and let the time fix the problems. None of the bitcoin holders are less fortunate. Yes, technology Company Microsoft has been accepting bitcoins to buy content in the Windows and Xbox stores since 2014. However, there was a time when they said it had stopped accepting payment in bitcoins, but lately they apologized for inaccurate info and corrected the post on the website. Bill Gates embracing Bitcoins is not a new thing for me but still I am happy that many people will be attentive towards BTC now.

A company will pursue a course of action that it believes that its the right thing to do but Bill Gates as an individual does not mean he supports bitcoin because Microsoft is accepting it as it clear that the business is different from the owner in the lay term not to talk of a company as big as Microsoft in which Bill Gates does not even partake in the day to day running of the business. So, him coming out means a boost for it as several others can start implementing such decisions.

Being one of the owners of Microsoft, Bill Gates has a big impact in convincing people to invest in bitcoin because just a word from him would even compete to the non-famous people who are saying that bitcoin is not worth it to invest before. No one else cares. This isn't a bad thing and it shouldn't affect us at all because we're doing just fine.

Bitcoin has a very vast impact on the whole world which has helped many people to have there daily need easily and have boosted peoples financial level in many different ways. bitcoin have faced many problems in its inicial stage and was very difficult for it to become famous as it is today but due to it flexiable nature and way it flows from person to person it has become the world most valuable and wanted currency in the digital world. its easyness to handle and it price attract many people to invest in it and have a big sum of profit from it.

It surely effected the prices but I didn't understand why he just said that but didn't talk about his investments.Only reason I can think of is he didn't want others to find his wallets with that info but imagine if he had a lot of BTC that kind of news would effect the prices much more. :D

yeah i have watched his video about it and really he is predicting very far and he is really giving good remarks about it. the main slogan of the video is "no one stop bitcoin" and which is coming from such a great personality which is the way of attraction for most of the people.
but unluckly this video was 2 to 3 year before and i had missed the train.
