White Paper

https://www.readcoin.org/images/The%20Readcoin%20White%20Paper.pdf

The aim is to create an ecosystem enabling a totally new way of publishing content with the aid of media identity.
The approach is sophisticated and convincing, please read the white paper.

- INITIAL READCOINS ARE GIVEN OUT FOR FREE -

We do not want anyone to loose funds with ICOs. There are only opportunities instead.

The challenge is organization and application of blockchain technologies.

Feel free to ask and discuss!

Just signed up on your site and requested for some readcoins :) The whitepaper is very informative and it's unique. I'm actually a fan of reading but what's the reason behind the name? Why readcoin? Do users get coins for reading?

This looks like a decentralized media release platform, something like this one, and maybe this project has its own unique features, and I hope to learn more about it.

The is with this "The reward is meant not only for the one who makes the best jokes, the craziest figures, breaking news, shocking twitter posts, and the most noise (attention). The reward is also meant for the one who has something trustworthy and useful to say. And: the more benefit content creates, the more it may be rewarded"  is that  what is deemed trustworthy, useful and beneficial varies among various demographic and is speculative. A middle aged individual might hear someone discussing the potential of a new currency and why it should be adopted by the federal govt on c-span, influencing them to buy the currency  before a projected increase in price. A teenager might see a crazy meme referring a meme card and buy the aforementioned card. Let say in both instance the coin and card has a 200% increase in value, would you deem the c-span new more rewarding cos it targeted a certain demographic.
I read the proposed idea to utilize block chain platform to enables the placing, unbundling and re-bundling of content in a totally open and free way. That Seem interesting but the fact remains that quality work will inadvertently cost money, That's why a situation like BAT might be useful cos rather than a singular corp getting all the money, its somewhat shared with the public. Sure it would be ideal to have access to all content for free without having to worry about my privacy been invaded/ dealing with constant  advisement but the problem with free access is been able to acquire quality work. Sure publishers will be offered readcoin for producing quality work but then again we are in a free market and ppl tend to go whomever that's paying the most. The idea is noble indeed, just seem like it has a tremendous uphill battle ahead.

Readcoin?  Reading through all the documentation throws me off!  It is riddled with grammatical errors.  Is this even a sentence? --> "The Ethnography of Communication analyses content of former societies in order to understand the social and economic reality of these societies."  What?  And it's called Readcoin ---> good thing it's not called Writecoin!

dear themathiasmiller

I also love to read and that s how it started. The idea is that journalists and bloggers can create new channels for people with a certain interest in something, and they can put there content for free, but also add additional or special information, content which you pay for in readcoin.
So in the end, its not only for text, it can be for fotos, videos, all kind of content.

The critical issue is that people start with using a cybervalue. That's why it contructed as a coin which is initially for free. When a newspaper or blooger is willing to start with Readcoin, they can get some for free. It is easy then.

Kindest regards
Paul

If i may ask what is the main objective of this project and how deos it relate to our everyday reading life. Thanks

Dear Notin2

The main objective was to create the coin and set out a certain framework or vision for how it could be used.

We carried out market research before, not too extensive, but what hit us from the first interview is that people restrict themselfes to a very specific range of sources for the content they assume the internet can provide to them. Second strong issue is that when you continue asking them about their information requirements - they state that there is a hobby or personal interest, they name it and say they are paying for content linked to that, but they also state that such content is not availaible online.

So with blockchain, we can unbundle and rebundle content freely and also exchange content for micropayments. There is a market which today does not exist. It is a huge market.

Lets say you make yoga videos on youtube. You see sometimes 300 unanswered questions below such videos. So you could make a yoga channel, the more special the better, and you link up with your audience. You can answer all their questions, and when someone wants to see all the answers, he/she pays with some readcoins. You can add you ebooks, articles, and so on. You could provide a coaching offer.

The current internet industry needs your free content, because their business model is based on you making it for free.

But there 8 billion people on earth, and even for the weirdest stuff you will find someone who is strongly interested and willing to pay something your such content.

Hope I could answer your question with that

Paul

Dear Readcoin subscribers,

the number of substantial inquiries for free Readcoins has reached the limit (not talking about a variety of reduntant inquiries - you ll get them only once). We will not continue and make a big lottery out of it. So the gate will be limited shortly to 2 or 5 free readcoins which you can only get when linked to a Readcoin content platform.

Please be patient if you do not have your Readcoins already. We are still analizing the dataset for misuse and sort out the best way to realize the bulk transactions (we are @450 transfers of 3.500 qualifying adresses for 150 RCN now). It may take up to 8 weeks.

Have also a look at the explainer video, if you did not read the white paper.

We are working hard to present the first publisher and content platform using Readcoins SOON!

Have a nice day!
Paul

I love reading myself and what more can I ask if  can get some financial assistance from writing and assistaing the crowd. But, I wanted to understand hoe different is this from Steemit who already pays it's user for blogging/content writing?

Also are you planning to have your own platform where these services will be hosted or would it be something like a tip bot where someone who wants to get additional info can use the tip bot, pay for it and boom you are done.

Thanks and have a nice day.

Dear Leslie,

Reddit, Sttemit, Medium.com create pooled funds and distribute them according on how many readers react positive on your posts.

Basically, these approaches are still based on attention. You need to attract a certain number of people to get a reward. Nothing new in our advertising based internet.

The idea behind Readcoin is quite different. Attention is not the criteria for success, the criterium is the dedicated value of the content for somebody.

Readcoin links a content creator to the people who are strongly interested and can use this information the most. So you do not target as many people as possible, but you rather create valuable content for a dedicated audience.

Someone may provide content for an audience of just a 100 people, and can make a living out of it - if the content has the appropriate value for these 100 persons - and provided that these persons get access to this content.

The thing is, that we speak about something which is not there now. Once you see that you can monetise your knowledge and abilities, people will start offering it as online content. It's a new market with immense pontential.

Dear Livermore,

You can still get them for free. Just fill in the form. The free package is only reduced to 3 RCN.
Readcoin, as an ecosystem, is not constructed as an investment. The idea is that the value rises with the application on RCN, and not with speculation.

is this project dead or why there are no new information for a long time??

Dear Cygan,

No its not dead. We expect to launch a first content exchange with browser add-ons in Q1, 2018 - this will take place independently from the token.

For the token itself we plan to use the renew option and map a system of significant rules in the new smart contract.
1. Supply shall be locked the hard way by the smart contract.
2. The smart contract enables, safeguards and integrates balancing offchain on multiple content exchanges or by large publishers (integrating fully scalable technologies for micropayments with the ERC20 token)
3. Smart contracts sets out a totally decentralized DAO for remaining token issues.

Yes, we think about leaving the token on it's own fate after some kick-start implementations, as it is possibile and a favourable way to create a success-story.

Our business is launching a content exchange, and the token was the neutral cyber ressource we were missing. It is implemented, it works, it is traded.

We do not recommend to buy the token in any manner. It shall be seen as a developing ekosystem. As we have seen in other cases, the ekosystem creates a real token value, not the token emission or related actions/promises.

Cheers,
Paul
