Title: tokens listed on exchanges after ICO
Post by: cyber-i on August 20, 2017, 10:26:32 PM
Hi, I'm a newbie in the crypto world...

I was wondering, when buying tokens on ICO, is there any 'guarantee' that the token will be listed on an exchange? In other words - how can one know for sure that an ICO token/coin will be included on an exchange after the ICO is finished?

NONE, that is the risk every investor has to take, no body could actually guarantee any token to be listed unless some exchanges manage the ICO by their own site like Yobit and other services, they manage the distribution from the start and then will list it when the ICO is over.

Of course tokens are created not only for the projects purpose but for the investor also how can investor make profit if it will not be listed on exchanges? You should always check the roadmap if what is the schedule of listing exchanges if exchanges are not priority then dont invest like xfc coin a shit coin.

Most of the ICO tokens does not have any assurances it will be listed in some exchange sites, you just have to wait for news on social medias like twitter or through slack/telegram if they'll announce the coin will be released in a certain exchange. That's why you have to read the whitepaper and roadmaps of the project to see if they do have a possibility to raise a great amount on ICO and the project will be most likely successful because if it does, there are chances it will be listed but as I've said it is also not an assurance.

its always depend on how successful the ico was since the dev needs to work with exchange and some bigger exchange needs a listing
fee so if the ico succeeded and raise the funds needed yes mate it will be listed but not everything can be assured we still needed to wait
on how the dev will develop and push it up.

AFAIK not all token listed on etherdelta, you can see their active market here: https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/etherdelta/ you can see there's no vslice.

Actually that's depends on how successful/unsuccessful ICO and it's depends on the developer to decide where the coin will be listed.

If the hardcap is met probably it will be listed on major exchanges. And if the project didnt reach the softcap then expect it will be listed on exchanges after 1 or two months after the ico.

there is no guarantee.

no investor can know when the token can be listed in exchanges. only developers who know this and they will give an announcement when the token is listed in an exchange.

Tokens are made to be traded on exchanges, most developers list their tokens after finishing ICO however if the ICO does not raise enough funds, then there is no assurance of being listed. It also depens on developers interest, you should investigate how much the developers are open to share their identity, team details, social media profiles etcitra, if all this is revealed by project, possibly it will be listed after ICO finish

ICO investment is much riskier because some of the tokens will not be listed on exchanges if they can't make enough funds from the ICO sale.So you need to incvest on the project with good project team then the risk will get lesser. But no guarantee that it will be listed after the ICO.

I think that there is no guarantee, especially 100 %. You would have to believe the team when it's known people for whom reputation is important the risk will be lower. The only way this is a very serious approach to the choice of the ICO project. Sometimes recognize Scam very difficult.

This is why its always been important to recognized or search up the team behind that particular coin before investing because we aren't sure if those coins would be listed or not. Tokens to be listed on exchange would be entirely dependent on the team if they would decide to list it up or not.For reputable developers they wont really risk out their reputation on such situation.

Every ICO is a risk do your research first before investing in it and even if everything is fine still there is a chance of getting scammed so my advice is Only invest what you can afford to lose and one more thing even if the ICO coin launched and listed in any exchange still they can be scammers so just be updated about any announcements and news about the coin.
Welcome to Crypto world..

That's what makes it very risky to invest in ICO and one of the reasons why regulations are being made, many fake ICO before hide themselves from the success of past ICOs that really gives good profit to their investors, anything can't be guaranteed by a project of an ICO, all they can give you is prediction of the growth of their token, aside from that, nothing else.

no guarantee for it.
but in the fact , they need to do that for investor. if that a good ico.
most of ico try to hard to get exchange market.
(for example minexcoin , soo hard to get 1 exchange market)
and just a little of ico success to get easy listed on exchange market.
(for example INS , POWR )

so try hard to find what a good ico.

Actually that is really a funny moment buddy. I see some coins not even bumped after the coins added to the exchange and I have noticed some coins have the big value in the price chart but will not be listed on any exchanges.
No one will ready to invest on those of project, thats it I can understand. Other hand I wanna ask some of your already made the post here. I see that you and some above people gave the bump to sleeping thread.

I might have hit upon few names while checking some few threads. You will also find some. I would say it's not that hard . Most of the exchanges simply lists coin with voting or simply asks for a price to list the coin. You just need to present your project's teams idea and details which needs to be verified.

Try kucoin or binance if you are looking for a nice exchange with good amount of traders to start with.

Offcourse, ICO at the end should be on exchange. But every company not sure it is fast or slow on listing their coin. All of that is according to the roadmaps time. Like Boscoin, it is so long time can deposit in HitBTC. I think all have process for listing. Be carefull in joining ICO if the company didn't trust. Hopefull all investor get profit in their invest when the coin listing in markets.

Let me address your query point by point:
Yes there's no guarantee that your ICO token will be listed on any exchange.
Listing on exchange depends on factors:
Firstly, the owner's wish - if it's genuine and the product is worthy he will go ahead for listing otherwise he might disappear with your money or list the token on some petty exchanges.
You need to take care whether the iCO is fake or not, cos only genuine worthy ICOs can be listed on exchanges like Bittrex, binance, poloniex.

Investing in ICO does involve risk. The only exception being that you are able to decipher the credibility of the ICO.

Listing a coin after ICO is just really easy because this thing would really always matter on how the team would push this up to be listed and we do all know some exchanges doesnt really have strict requirements for a coin to be listed. A simple voting or a certain amount paid up for the coin to be listed is already sufficient which the same thing being mentioned by Avirunes above which is actually true.

no.. this is the risk you have to take. But make sure to check their roadmap. Join their group and ask any admins if they know when the token will be launch in exchanges. If you smell something fishy stay away from that ICO.

No one knows for certain that the coin will be listed at the exchange. after the end of the ICO. ICO investment is risky. You can earn a lot and lose everything. And now there are a lot of ICO that are SCAM

95% of the ico tokens are listed on exchange within 6 month and all the project I have tried to invest in has been listed in exchange. Another way that you can actually know when a tokens will be listed in exchange after some time when the ico end is to follow there Ann thread.
Etherdelta and hitbtc are two exchange that has helped me to sell most of my tokens at a very good pricing.

None guarantee if it comes to exchanges. Some exchanges have high prices, imagine 25 BTC for listing a token, and not forever but temporary, or 12 BTC for month, well there is only one way you can be sure you can sel your bought tokens, if this is ERC 20 token you can always sell it on Etherdelta

Well! no one can guarantee you for sure that tge ICO you are investing in will sign up on an exchange. The fact is that, everything really depends on the developers and administrators running that particular project. If only they are legitimate and not scam, they will surely list the token on an exchange (but may not very soon) after the sales. One other aspect is that, many investors recently dont read roadmaps of projects so they actually think immediately the main sales close, then that is when the trading of that coin should begin, and then they tend to put pressure on project developers to list as soon as possible. So per your question, there is no guarantee for listing but if they (developers) do justice to the roadmaps, then yes!! there is hope that the coin will surely get listed. Some successful ICOs have even get sign ups before the main sales closed. So it all comes down to the type of project you join. Don't just join any project, perform your checks well!!

I really believe it, because with the promotion such as social media campaign or signature campaign, it gives a very confident. and you can see it on the ico website to convince him

Nope not 95% actually since their are some other coin who have listed immediately on decent exchange and It all matters to the dev or with the team on how they do it since If dev's will just sit and wait for their coin to be added well theirs nothing they can do good with it. But if ICO coins will be huge fee's on exchange where they desired to be listed then they will be added as quickly as they can.

Some coins are taking to long for listing in exchange but there is no specific guarantee when they are going to list in the exchanges. Some companies are listing in exchange with in days but it is not possible to identify whether they will list in the exchange or not.

actually most of them sets a date or announce a speific date on when will they list the coin in an online exchange and it is verry rare for an ico bounty to hide this details not unless they are shady or scam. usually most of them will list the coin after their ico has been finished but there are some that their tokens and coins are actually listed before they run an ico bounty campaign. overall , running an ico isnt easy at all that is why most of the ico are delayed in order for them to count the stakes or rewards of their participants, so much better if you can just wait for a while.

and also there are several survey to do for a tokens to be listed on some Exchanger most of ICO nowaday before ending their ICOs use to have a survey or voting system on where the participants/ investors want to trade/ sell their tokens. Announcement on these kind of issues usually announce at their main threads or main social media accounts/ pages.
