Title: [ANN] Klondike Indonesia (Big Picture Mining Indonesia)
Post by: Bicknellski on May 20, 2013, 03:39:03 AM
Situation:

Bitcoin is relatively underdeveloped in Indonesia. There are no large mining farm operations and the market in Bitcoin is quite small. There is certainly a void currently in the market for miners that are produced locally. There are several PCB manufacturing operations that are subsidiaries of Japanese, Korean and Chinese PCB companies here in Indonesia. There are also large numbers of PCB designers coming out of the Universities in Indonesia so there are plenty of people to carry out the oversight and future development of Klondike Indonesia boards here. We are also keen on working and developing a strong and lasting relationship with BKKCoins in terms of licensing his design for production here in Indonesia and providing him royalties for each board that is sold.

Focus:

Currently there are no ASIC, FPGA mining rigs available in Indonesia other than DIY GPU's and a handful of purchased FPGAs. The Indonesian market for Bitcoin miners is limited although there are 1000's of people interested in Bitcoin and active in the community at various levels and this is growing every month. Import tariffs and delays for electronics is a prohibitive barrier for mining Bitcoin in Indonesia.

Response

Klondike Indonesia will fill the void by providing Indonesians with completed Klondike 1, 16, 64 and eventually K256 4U units with hot swap capable K16 / K64 boards. We have assessed the market and understand that there will at first be a limited market for miners. We will  provide locally made working miners so as to avoid importation tariffs and time delays that is the norm with Indonesian customs. Avalon chips will be ordered and delivered directly to our contracted PCB fabrication house. We will also be working with students at the Canadian Montessori School so they can learn about Cryptocurrencies and the students will be working on building a K16 that will be maintained as a student project at the school in the 2013/14 school year and beyond. Students will also learn about the production of Klondike boards and their ultimate sale here in Indonesia.

Evaluation

We will help create a new community of miners in Indonesia and we hope that will also help to diversify and secure the Bitcoin / Altcoin networks. We also see this as an excellent opportunity to support the local economy in Indonesia as well as providing educational opportunities for the students at Canadian Montessori Schools. To support the Bitcoin community we will not accept pre-orders and will produce units first, test that they function mining for 24 hours on the network and then box them up for sale so that customers can pay and take a unit. We do not offer shipping and customers can pay in Rupiah, Bitcoin or Freicoin.

Tentative Pricing

We have found one PCB factory in Indonesia that can build our Klondike boards. The price for the board productions is only a first price. We are still looking for better pricing in Indonesia for making Klondikes.

Cost for a 100 Klondike Board Run

First time set up costs: 900,000.00 IDR
Testing costs: 110,000.00 IDR
Total costs for production: 11,800,000.00 IDR 13,570,000.00 Rp.
Cost per assembled Klondike board: 118,000.00 IDR 135,700.00 Rp.
Cost per SMT part: 400.00 IDR  500.00 IDR
16 x Avalon QFN48 chips: 1,300,000.00 IDR
1 x 120 mm Fan: 50,000.00 IDR
1 x 90*90*18 mm Aluminum heat sink: 80,000.00 IDR
Board materials costs: Unknown
Developer Royalty: 20,000.00 IDR per board
Modular Python Bitcoin Miner Royalty: Burn in will be done via MPBM and pay the royalty fee.

This is only a guess but the cost of production could be:

Production Costs 1 x K16 with chips: 1,548,000.00 IDR 1,565,700.00 IDR  1,585,700.00 IDR

We are still not sure on shipping costs and other costs that might happen as we produce this product as well as our own additional costs to make a reasonable profit for developing the Klondike board here in Indonesia. We hope to price the product lower that what it would cost for importing similar boards and having something in stock as soon as we can that will be get these miners in Indonesian hands. We are still looking at September for these units to be available.

---------------------------- INDONESIAN --------------------------------

Situasi:

Pertama kali mengatur biaya: 900,000.00 IDR
Biaya pengujian: 110,000.00 IDR
Jumlah biaya untuk produksi: 11,800,000.00 IDR 13,570,000.00 Rp.
Biaya per dirakit Klondike papan: 118,000.00 IDR 135,700.00 Rp.
Biaya per TPS bagian: 400.00 IDR  500.00 IDR
16 x Avalon QFN48 chip: 1,300,000.00 IDR
1 x 120 mm Fan: 50,000.00 IDR
1 x 90*90*18 mm Aluminium heat sink 80,000.00 IDR
Dewan bahan biaya: Tidak diketahui

Also in talks with Indonesian based groups to do a group buy 10,000 chips for production of full miners. 780 BTC required.

Update  05/06/2013

BKKCoins Update on K1

Latest status - waiting for K1 test boards to arrive. They were shipped on May 30th. so should be here in a few days. I'm setting up a prototype board to test firmware while waiting for the K1s. Until today I was waiting on PIC chips to come in. Some of the firmware code has been tested and scoped by choaztc and is working but even if I get fully functional firmware I'm still going to be waiting on Avalon samples to test/verify against, and those appear to be a couple-few weeks out.

I don't have spare Avalon chips ordered to make K1 sales with. I know of a few forum members who have chips and are waiting on final boards to produce a ready-to-use product, either on their own or with me providing boards or assembly (K1 only). So I think by the time chips begin arriving there will be options for those who want a plug n play K1 experience. At some point, when more certainty is available, pre-orders will be opened and jumping on that will be best bet for early on product.

Update  30/05/2013

So we can come up with a tentative timeline for Indonesian Klondike production:

BKKCoins receives his samples in late June or early July.
Prototype boards are tested and passed hopefully in July / August.
Orders for more chips made in July.
Gerbers are released and production starts in Indonesia for test boards in August.
25 -100 Board run for Indonesian Market September / October ready.

I may be interested in working in between 15 to 65 more boards in the AUGUST run but only if others ship me the chips and come to Jakarta and pick up the finished boards. Please PM or email me if you are interested in that arrangement but you would need a minimum of 5 boards or 80 Avalon chips.

Update  25/05/2013

We have made some inquiries into the Modular Python Bitcoin Miner and how it can be made ready for the Klondike boards that will be made here in Indonesia. When we are closer to testing a prototype we will get more information but we are very keen on using MPBM for the Klondike as it is a wonderful interface and as I own 3 X6500 fgpa miners that run it, I have found it very stable and easier for novice users which could be the case for Indonesian buyers. There are also plans by BKKCoins to adapt CGminer. We are also willing to support efforts by any other miner software developers.

Update  23/05/2013

The boards will have a 20,000.00 IDR developer royalty added that goes directly to the BKKCoins.

Update  22/05/2013

Website will be ready in:

http://www.bigpicturemining.asia/products.html

Update  21/05/2013

PCB fab house will ship BOM items from Singapore at a 15% Premium directly from Mouser etc.

Cost per assembled Klondike board: 135,700.00 Rp.

Additional PCB board material cost:  Yet to be determined.

Updated pricing per K16 is: 1,565,700.00 IDR

Update  20/05/2013

Only a extremely rough preliminary production estimate for 1 x Klondike 16 with chips with heat sink: 1,548,000.00 IDR

-------------------------------------------------
Pembaruan 2013/07/07

Pembaruan 2013/06/09

Diperbarui harga website. Chip pengembang adalah pengiriman.

Pembaruan  06/06/2013

Avalon Chip Grup membeli 500 FRC / keping! 8985 kiri

780 BTC diperlukan.

Pembaruan  05/06/2013

BKKCoins memperbarui K1

Status Terbaru - menunggu K1 papan tes tiba.

Pembaruan 22/05/2013

Situs web akan siap dalam:

http://www.bigpicturemining.asia/products.html

Pembaruan 21/05/2013

This is only a guess but the cost of production could be:

Production Costs 1 x Klondike with chips: Rp.1.548.000" Quote

Rate per Rupiah 9,755 = 1 usd, production cost is $1,209

and your production costs per Klondike? 1,548.00? or 1,548,000? is $0.158

May you quote in $Usd? Thanks

xe.com/ucc/  (http://xe.com/ucc/) <--- We are not selling outside Indonesia. If you feel the need to do quotations in USD for yourself feel free to use XE.

1,548,000.00 IDR   = 158.778 USD

XE Exchange Rate 1 IDR = 0.000102570 USD   1 USD = 9,749.45 IDR Mid-market rates: 2013-05-20 04:57 UTC

Note that in Indonesian notation of Rupiah (IDR) they use commas to separate the hierarchy of numbers into hundreds, thousands and millions and so on. Also note that they use the decimal to denote decimals rounded to tenths typically. So be careful posting your numbers above are inaccurate conversions please revise your post so there is no confusion. If you see anything I have missed out please let me know in terms of the board production costs.

------------------- Bahasa Indonesia -----------------

1,548,000.00 IDR   = 158.778 USD

XE Exchange Rate 1 IDR = 0.000102570 USD   1 USD = 9,749.45 IDR Mid-market rates: 2013-05-20 04:57 UTC

No.

Sorry not to be rude but please let me decide what I want to do with my post on this. There are plenty of people who speak English in Indonesia and I will keep this bilingual so that I can link my posts in the Bahasa Indonesia section to have them follow here. It is also posted for others to get a look at what we are doing here in Indonesia so that they can compare.

Latest information from 1 fabricator so far that parts from mouser would require 15% additional fee to get to Singapore then through to them in Jakarta. Also still waiting on cost of the board material itself as that was not factored in. We are currently checking out 2 other companies for PCB fabrication. Also we are still trying to track down suppliers for heat sinks, fans and PSU's. We are also working on configurations that can either be installed right inside your PC or alternatively with stanchions using an external PSU for those who want more than 3 boards.

Server Rack Mount Configuration /  Konfigurasi

Well I was planning a Bali holiday in September.... hmm would be pretty awesome if I could move this up a bit and swing by to pick up a Klondike while I'm in the neighbourhood :)

Thanks Bicknellski for taking it upon yourself to introduce more Indonesian youth to Bitcoin.

Excellent, this could work out really well then. I'll pm you with my email address.

I might even be able to write off a bit of my vacation expenses as a legal business tax deduction then, where I to do this, which would then be even better...

One of the main problems I would of thought why there are no GPU mining rigs in Indonesia would be the limitation of how much electricity is delivered to a house. I do remember my aunty's house only having a maximum of 4kw.

One of the main problems I would of thought why there are no GPU mining rigs in Indonesia would be the limitation of how much electricity is delivered to a house. I do remember my aunty's house only having a maximum of 4kw.

Yes that is my own problem right now. These ASIC however run very little power. If you want a K16 that runs about 32W only for about 4.512 Gh/s so that is very good. Although with the difficulty going up 4.512 Gh/s might be better used on an altcoin later on.

If you are looking to build a mining farm you definitely have to look at commercial buildings in Indonesia and even then you have to be concerned with many other points. I personally will try and build a small 4U server unit and see if I can get it put into a data-center south of Jakarta that way power is never a problem, security, ambient temps etc are all taken care of. That to me would be ideal.

I think though most people would be interested in a few K16s or even just to get a few K1's to learn about mining and not worry about the electricity at all.

Yah a K16 on a Ras-Pi could do the trick.

To my understanding there is not many data centre's as well and the internet infrastructure is abit lacking at least in terms of speed. Then again I do not rate Australia's internet that crash hot either. (Hurry up with the NBN, the doctor said I need more fibre in my diet)

I would recommend leaving the unit at the school as the problems/issues created can be seen first hand and stimulate ideas that can later benefit a community.

For example it might spark an interest within a student to develop an efficient form of electricity generation because you have then exposed them the power issue needed to create a mining farm but later in life use their creative ideas in rural (kumpung) communities.

Exposing your students to bitcoin is awesome and for an approximately $160 its still very competitive.

If the personal boards I build work then I will go ahead with a 25 to 100 board run and it will be first come first serve. In terms of larger orders no plans yet but if this goes well then I am thinking of opening up to regional orders for a Generation 2 Avalon Chip. All depends on how reliable I find the fab houses here in Jakarta are. I am pretty confident from what I have learned already that they can easily produce Klondikes right here to BKKCoins specifications. Again being a full time teacher / principal this project is two fold. 1 students will get a crack at assembling some K1s and K16s and 2 to get miners into the hands of people here in Indonesia. If bitcoin and altcoins are to grow we  need to expand it in countries like Indonesia.

The cost for the K1s is really the right market for smaller rural communities or even the K16s if you can work out payment plans. I have some interesting  plans on how to use the boards that students actually build at school.

1. Revenue from the boards will be used to fund scholarships for needy students to the school. The students will be responsibly for running the miners, keeping track of the wallets etc.

2. Revenue from the boards will be used to fund Kiva like microloans to poorer communities around us near our school. Students will run the micro-lending program.

There are some excellent data centers in Jakarta and environs.... http://www.biznetdatacenter.com/?gclid=CNjQuPeWqrcCFfFU4godPDsAyw (http://www.biznetdatacenter.com/?gclid=CNjQuPeWqrcCFfFU4godPDsAyw) so hosting the miner for me will be ideal in the longer term as I add to the miners I own as long as I can package it right in rack mount servers the Klego's that BKKCoins has designed seem to me simple and elegant solution.

No orders and no shipping, they have to come to the shop here and buy it when stock is available. Bring,  Rupiah, BTC or FRC. Arrange payment same time they come to the shop all good as well. Drop me an email if you want updates or to arrange things once we have tested units.

Okay?

Jakarta is a cheap short hop from Singapore but, I am also playing with idea of people sending chips through the agent bringing in parts for the pcb through Singapore. I want to test that with my own chips first. I want to ensure that they get to the fabricator without incident. I will keep you posted or drop me an email if you are interested in that sort of arrangement.

Ya we are lucky to be so close to BKKCoins makes things a bit easier. Malaysia probably has a number of great fabrication shops. Might be fun to get a regional Bitcoin meet up at some point. Thanks Dan if we get stuck on something I will let you know... keen on trying to get it all done right here so I can avoid the hassles of import / export. At times packages can be held for "ransom" and that sucks. I had 3 X6500's come in it took over 15 days to get them released right when there was that fat bubble in BTC price.

There are many ways to get things in... I'd prefer to avoid it all costs. Seems to me the fabrication places I am sourcing have a line on getting things into Jakarta and that is great. That is mainly why I will not be shipping these units at all especially outside the country at least for now.

very interested here, but only low quantity, may be like 2-3 unit for my own and 1-2 more if my friend joining me. i am malaysian working @ singapore.

got few question here to confirm, the board will be selling together with the chip? or we have to source the chip ourself and send it to you?

since this is a time frame sensitive equipment, around when we can purchase the working board (wild guess) ?

What we are planning:

Having at least a 30 to 40 board run with my own chips to test the whole process.
Then doing between another 25 to 100 board run that will be fully complete and tested units that will go on sale as soon as we burn them in after 12 to 24 hours.

Tentative: I am also considering whether those in South East Asia are interested in shipping chips to the agent in Singapore and bring them in to Jakarta and assemble the chips with the boards at the same pricing minus the chips and chips shipping to Jakarta. But I am still not ready to decide that as that would then require packaging and shipping the completed Klondikes. If you are in Indonesia I would have no problem with having people add their chips to my manufacturing run as that would scale the price down depending on the numbers of chips and with that arrangement you can pick them up in Jakarta at our shop. Again if you are interested or want to make alternative arrangements feel free to contact me via email.

First run with my own chips as soon as I receive chips from my Avalon order it will go ahead. Most think chips delivery is Later July / Early August? That means I would have my own boards working in what Late August. That means September / October for the 25 to 100 board run. I will be ordering enough chips for that 2nd run in July or August once I am sure that the processing of my chips into a working Klondike is pretty much going to happen on schedule.

Depending on the numbers and cheap flights coming to pick up finished working units might be worth it for those in Singapore. I will be clear to post video of the units working on the network and be as transparent as possible so that people can make a decision to about coming to Jakarta for something like this. But remember there are no pre-orders and all these units that where I provide the chips will be sold first come first serve. It might be different for those who are sending chips but again I am not certain I want to do that yet. I really want to make sure the supply chain is reasonably safe and secure before doing anything like that. I will risk my own chips before anyone else puts a dime down.

Yes and no...  ;D

Depends on the customers and what you are willing to pay. For now it will be just the boards with stanchions as that will be something most people want just get the thing mining at a low cost.

However there are options depending on the number of boards one wants but let me offer what I am looking at for a single K16 and possibly what I will do for my own K256/K512 mining rig that I will set up as the first phase in my Mining Farm.

I.  A K16 could be mounted right into an existing PC if there is sufficient space and PSU power.

http://cdn1.mos.techradar.futurecdn.net//art/pc_cases_and_cooling/Bitfenix/Raider/raider_side_open-900-90.jpg

II. A K16 could simply have no enclosure and have stanchions.

http://fpgamining.com/content/05-gallery/01-bonks/01.jpg

III. A K16 could be housed in an HDD enclosure bay.

http://di1-1.shoppingshadow.com/images/pi/a7/87/67/119357187-260x260-0-0_xigmatek+xigmatek+cca+emfcb+u01+4+in+3+hdd+cage+ex.jpg

IV. A K16 could be housed in specialty designed aluminum enclosure that accommodates through cabling and a 80mm to 120mm fan in the rear of the case

http://2.imimg.com/data2/GF/XU/MY-2936361/4-500x500.jpg

In terms of larger board orders I think the best way to handle enclosures would be to go for an off the shelf server casing.

I. This could hold multiple K256 layers.

http://www.datacenterhardware.com/products/images/w609_7.jpg

or a nice Fish Bowl and Box of Fans

http://www.mountainmods.com/images/images_big/U2UFODB3.jpg

II. This could hold 2 K256 layers. This is likely the option I will test as I want to set up my farm in a data center in Indonesia so something that is able to rack mount is important for me

http://www.norcotek.com/product_images/flyer/rpc430_5.jpg

Just a few possible ideas. What are your thoughts?

Title: Re: [ANN] Klondike Indonesia (Canadian Montessori Schools / Big Picture Montessori)

I had the same idea as you.

I was looking at rackspace rentals in Jakarta to check pricing, but none of them offer general pricing upfront. I was hoping it will be cheap since its Indonesia but I can't be sure! It would save on electricity, but since rackmount rentals/datacentres are for corporate use usually I doubt they have cheap prices for the lowly Bitcoin miner.

What do you think? I was thinking of picking it up from you and heading straight to the rackspace rental place and setting it up there.

I'm also not sure if the datacentres let you install your own equipment into their server racks. It sounds like they just provide cloud storage, hosting and stuff but not actually your own rack space with your own hardware. This place was an exception though:

http://www.ntp.co.id/colo.rack.php#

If that is not possible, I'll just bring the racks back with me without a case (too heavy otherwise) and then bring it home and shove it into a milk crate or server case something.

EDIT: I suspect the K256 boards are far away aren't they? Or will they be available soon after the K1 and K16s?

Drop me an Email about the colocation etc I will be checking out space and prices and will have more information next month.

Yes you can. I am located in closer to the airport so reaching me won't be too bad if you have a day or two in Jakarta could be possible.

If you are looking for a Klego build I think getting chips and then working that out as special build could be possible as that could lower the over all costs for me on my smaller chip run. But ya you would have to shell out a bit of money on the chips depending on what you want to go for. But I think that would have to be a long lengthy talk and determine what you want and so forth not suited to this thread. The larger farm units I am very very interested in designing but not with these 1st Gen Avalon chips... I would rather do that with 2nd Gen as they would I think have a much better economy of scale price and speed wise and that would make say a 4 U rack server a much better beast than what the K16 boards are offering.

Remember the K16 might be a K64 as a single board depending on how BKKCoins could modify it and because they will be easy to daisy chain I am seriously planning to have 2 layers of 256 in my first rig or about 144 GH/s. Just remember I am doing a limited run of boards so there won't be many K64s more likely everything will be K16s and you can daisy chain them. If I have some extra single chips I might see about some K1 Nanos.

Dabs group buy is not picking up order fast enough ( less than a week to go), if not i would order from him. interested to get the full working board from you is because you already have the chip ( dont mind paying bit more, you earned it ), and 2nd reason is let the pro build and test the board ( i did think of to hire some local guy to assemble it for me, he can do the reflow process, but not the testing if something went wrong )

i am ok with postage or collect from you personally. but its still too early as there is few more months to go. for the meanwhile i think what i do is can gather more order.

Remember I am not a PRO...

I have read through a lot of the specs on the manufacturing of the boards and have a general idea what we need here from a fabrication house particularly with regards to re-flow for the QFN chips and solder etc. I will be using either a Korean, Japanese or Chinese owned subsidiary fabricator here in Jakarta region for the full assembly so there are more than competent to do this work and you get the benefit of me going first and having my chips be the guinea pigs and that would be max a 100 but possibly a 50 board run depending on how many more chips I buy on top of the 540 I have in the Group Buy #1 Raging had.

I want to work with DABS on his chip buy as I think that would be a great option to get chips into the region. I have a limited number of chips that I will buy for the first run as I said and it will be a first come first serve set up and no shipping inside or outside Indonesia. People will have to bring Rupiah, BTC or FRC to seal the deal. What you will get are boards that have already burned in for 12 possibly 24 hours hopefully using Modular Python Bitcoin Miner.

Hey bro, I'm a Malaysian who studies in the States. Me and 4 other buddies of mine kinda have plans in getting assembled miners to the people in Malaysia. (After setting our mining farm that is) ;D

Mind giving a few pointers?

Follow BKKCoins thread very carefully or Burin's or Alten's
Read up on the specs and what is required for the fabrication of boards and reflow of the Avalon chips.
Then check out what sort of PCB manufacturers there are in KL and JB or elsewhere. I bet there are some decent ones.
Save some BTC or get some investors so you can buy chips. DABS in Philippines trying to get full 10K chips in a group buy.

Do not invest in something like this unless you are willing to lose every ringgit / bitcoin you put in... risky!
You might be better off buying bitcoin and just waiting for it to go up.

Good luck.

Drop me an email keep me updated on your progress.

I have dropped quite a bit for BFL hardware (Little Single). Yeah I know.  ::)

I'm no electronics expert, but i've got a friend who could take a look at it.
It's a gamble, sort of.

Thanks.

Yes get someone that knows PCB design is a good plan or has experience in pcb fabrication. That will help a lot. My wish is for you to get your BFL hardware I hope you get your order soon.

So now we can come up with a tentative timeline for Indonesian Klondike production:

  • BKKCoins receives his samples in late June or early July.
  • Prototype boards are tested and passed hopefully in July / August.
  • Orders for more chips made in July.
  • Gerbers are released and production starts in Indonesia for test boards in August.
  • 25 -100 Board run for Indonesian Market September / October ready.

I may be interested in working in between 15 to 65 more boards in the AUGUST run but only if others ship me the chips and come to Jakarta and pick up the finished boards. Please PM or email me if you are interested in that arrangement but you would need a minimum order of 5 boards or 80 Avalon chips to add you to my test run in August.

Quote
Samples are promised to start shipping end of May, so don't expect a delivery before mid of June - in developers' hands not before end of June.

Since there are so many businesses build around the Klondike design, a small reminder: so far, 1700 chips ordered with me has been delegated to BkkCoins, which entitles him to get 5 sample chips from me. That might be enough to test protocol and mining generally, but it is far from being sufficient to also test fully populated boards or stacking / tiling. If you are not a developer and have chips ordered from me, please consider supporting BkkCoins and assign your portion of sample chips to him.

Having researched a number of different server chassis I found some very interesting high density GPU rack mounted 2U and 3U servers with higher wattage PSUs and are configured to throw HEAT out the back out the server chassis. Working on a Venturi type of venting we will explore the possibility of a more densely packed heat sink to heak sink configuration for the first miner for our farm. Here are some rough designs where will try to avoid using any baffling.

Site up tentative pricing, configurations and dates. We are currently looking at including our initial test board run for Thailand when BKKCoins opens his webpage for board orders. We will then book a flight to Bangkok and hand over ASIC chips and then pick up finished boards when ready. Hopefully this will avoid all the hassles with shipping and will ensure a smooth and fast turn around for our test rigs.

Working on sketchup to see what can fit into a 1.5 to 2U server... there is space for 8 x K64. A 1024W, 144.384 GH/s configuration. However not sure if could remain stable and dissipate the heat properly. Something I am looking forward to testing in the coming months.

The following will be the prototype 1U Server I will be building with the 4 K64 Panels Lego'ed together. It is clear that a larger 2U chassis would be needed to build the K512 and given the heat dissipation requirements it might be easier and possibly cheaper simply to go with 1U units for smaller production runs.

Sebastian we do not have a formally written agreement with BKKCoins yet, I have pledged 20,000 IDR per board (estimated to 2$ USD per board). I will also donate some of the 12 to 24 hour burn in time to both TheSeven and BKKCoins for development on top of the 20,000 IDR per board cost. TheSeven does the development of Modular Python Bitcoin Miner for the X6500 boards, (I own 3 - X6500 and love the MPBM), so I will be working out how to reward him for his efforts to get Klondikes working with MPBM as I want to burn in using that software. https://github.com/TheSeven/Modular-Python-Bitcoin-Miner/

Hope that helps. Anyone can use XE http://www.xe.com/ucc/ and BitCoinity http://bitcoinity.org/markets to get the USD / BTC rates of exchange and get prices. Also http://www.bigpicturemining.asia/products.html has some prices as well in FRC, BTC and IDR. These of course are tentative and I am still waiting on 4 manufactures of PCBs to give me a final quotation. 1 in China, 2 in Indonesia and 1 in Thailand that is working with BKKCoins.

Calculations based on the prototype 2 x K256 if it were mining right now.

$352,163.02 per year... I wish!

Thinking more .50 cents per K1... not sure yet have to ask BKKCoins. My direction will be focused for the first run on K16's and I will definitely mock up or have a working K256 1U server before the end of 2013 as a goal. In terms of production run this year 25 - 100 K16 boards. Possibly more if people are willing to support the full cost of the production run for the boards they want and I am keen on the "Gold Pan" K256 mostly.

HI OP. I have some Indonesian friends/ex-colleagues that used to work with me in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
Will tell them about your new site/product. Hope to talk to you if you come to Kuala Lumpur.

Not sure when I would have time to head up to KL but we will see. Never know if there is a Montessori Conference in KL or something I could meet up with people there once I get something worth showing. You can drop me an Email if you want to discuss things further. There are people organizing builds in Thailand and the Philippines as far as I know it be great to get Singapore and Malaysia going as well.

Nothing going on in Singapore. :(

check the Singapore page on this forum    ;)

cheers,
Kev

I am meeting up tonite in Gading Serpong with a GPU Mining Farm owner to discuss the development of the K16 and K256 in the Indonesian market. I will post some news about this tomorrow depending on what we decide to do to move forward. Nice to get a chance to meet up with others in Bitcoin here in Jakarta. Maybe the first of many future meetings with others interested in Bitcoin and mining here.

Avalon Chip Group buy 500 FRC/chip! 8,985 left

Of forgot to add we are now looking at a chip group buy for Indonesia. Possibly pledged 3000 to 4000 chips already. I will post more later as I get more info from everyone involved. Those outside Indonesia are also welcome to chip in once we are ready.

The K1 boards are sitting in Bkk now but it will be a couple days before I can get in there to pick them up. I have about 6 packages waiting for me.

In the meantime, I do have the Klondike firmware running in the PIC chip now and it pushes work and manages a work queue up to 4 units. All of the protocol cmds seem to be working fine with my test app. I can send it work, multiple units push after each one is done, abort work, check status, send new config and enable/disable.

I'm working a bit on the temperature / fan control now. That isn't used in the K1 except maybe for thermal shutdown, but it's needed for the K16.

We are looking at different fabrication locations:

China - fast and low cost
Thailand - fast and relatively low cost
Taiwan - fast and low cost and close to Avalon chips
Indonesia - quick costs more than other locations no customs charges

-----------------------------

Meaning it would cost you ~$88 per k16 and ~$25 per k1 if the chips were customer provided, and then ud add your margin, shipping and handling, etc on top of that?

Yup... if it is a small run which is all I can afford.

Larger runs would be much more cost effective. I have not put that pricing up as I will probably only be able to do 100 boards max.

For the Indonesian market I am including the chips... which is not reflected in the price. I might be interested in others shipping chips to me to lower the costs if I can get up to 1000 boards that be possible. But I need to get the chips at the same time as my first batch arrives for an August run or when I do the first production runs for Indonesian buyers in September. I am definitely going to guinea pig my 540 chips first to work out as many kinks as possible and see what SMT Indonesia can do.

Initial Run

6 - 7 x K16s
16 - 32 x K1

I'm interested in Klondike.
When it will be ready in Indonesia?

A notification will be a advantage when it ready.

Regards,

Wely.

Email me and I will put you on my list.

September... or October is my best guess. Ordering 128 chips now for that small run. Possibly more will be available in November or December and more likely to be K1's mostly.

Note I do not ship outside Indonesia or in Indonesia it is a cash and carry situation and first come first serve.
