In a bold move today Bithumb has decided to add Monero (XMR) to it's list of crypto currencies for trading. Bithumb is the largest and most advanced crypto trading platform in Korea and one of the largest in the world if not the largest. At last count the exchange had a daily trade volume of 850 million dollars.

The last BCH rise was mainly because of the Koreans and what they want to do. In Asian countries there is real life use cases for cryptocurrency more often than in Western parts of the world. They use it for every day shopping and it's very popular there.

If you just saw that rise in Monero price it's because of the good press that this has caused, imagine when it actually gets listed. This will take Monero to a whole new level.

Is this a confirmed news? Because I heard that it was just a rumor, and there was no official announcement yet

with this speculations the price jumped high again and I think if this will be confirmed it will be much bigger than this
lets wait for an official announcement from the dev team and while waiting lets enjoy the ride.

I was also looking for answers about the recent Monero pump. It has been a good 60% jump out of nowhere, I was not able to find the news, but this looks like it's what accused the price surge.

The question now is: It is too late to jump on the train now? As we all know "buy the rumor, sell the news".

Now it's yet to be seen if Bithumb's volume itself can continue the pump or it will be limited to the news.

Bithumb is known for driving coins up with the impressive volume... the BCash pump started there as a matter of fact.

I don't know why exchanges doesn't support anonymous coins.They deserve more attention.Since the prices gone up it will bring some new users.

I understand the rumor and good news is the reason make the price of Monero in today increasing up, but why just is listed to exchange can make the price of this coin pumped high than 100%? (Bittrex exchange pumped from 0.0129 BTC to high than 0.03 BTC in few hours). Maybe, Monero has controlled by whales and make FOMO on market.

Maybe after this more people will start to accept it as viable form of payment. As for now, people (that are not investing) don't really have a justifiable reason to by Monero

Maybe but we can't know this. The price on coinmarketcap is now $81.90 (48.16%) and 0.02044310 BTC (51.18%) iwth respect to yesterday's closing price. On bittrex, trades are very fast I can't catch the orders. Almost fifty percent profit in a day is such a good return for monero investors like me.

So I know where this rise came. It reminds me of the AlphaBay hype about Monero. I hope they will not delist it in a few days because Monero would crash the same way like it did after AlphaBay removed it...

This type of news reminds me how little I know about crypto. I never heard about Bithumb exchange until today, and now I am reading it is the biggest exchange possible? I wonder how I never managed to see it even looking at all the exchanges on coinmarket. Good news for Monero,,, yet again I miss out on an alt that has doubled. Still good to buy in at 80 right?

Prices usually raise at rumor and fall at news. It started weeks ago when someone saw monero emblems there. They 2 days ago someone saw announcement, but was later removed. now there is an announcement.

I know chinese people are the biggest players and early adopters in bitcoin industry so they have a lot of money and are in need of privacy. I think monero will eventually the biggest one after bitcoin.

The Koreans are going to pump Monero to the moon next week. You guys think this is a pump? Just wait until next week when the Koreans get their hands on XMR. I foresee $400-$600 in the near future for this amazing tech.

Really good news. Getting listed on Bithumb is a significant milestone for any coin. But in each article they write that it is just rumours. Will wait for official announcement.

It's great to see it being listed on such a big exchange where that huge volume is being shared amongst many cryptos. XMR is gaining too much traction in the real world because of its real anonymity features as well as great mixing technology which was developed by devs who were never serious about the coin but they just focused on what they were inclined to deliver.

Yes and will last longer. Event will happen all the way til next Sunday.  Lets hope Bithumb will manage to attract enough traders to trade Monero there and make it one of most traded coins there and place Bithumb as rank.1 Crypto exchange in Cryptoverse.

Well, they just recognized how undervaluated Monero was and took advantage of it. I was actually expecting such boom. I am sure Monero continues marching towards $200 mark. Then it slows down but still keep growing.

ETH with zk-SNARK would become strong competitor to XMR and it will come aprox in september. I missed a train to XMR I probably will buy more ETH now.

I am very grateful to my friend who recommended me to buy Monero. I have asked him about it after the first jump from $50 to $100 and he was still very optimistic and said thet his bet is $200 in a short time. So I followed the advice and bought it. Now I see he was right.

I would say that getting listed on Bithumb is just a beginning. Several important features should be implemented in Monero this year, which will attract even more attention. I'm just waiting for Monero to be listed on Bitstamp and similar other big exchanges.

Yep, I agree, $200 is a reasonable price of Monero in short term. But I also believe that Monero can reach $400-$600 as mentioned above within next year.

Yes this year should bring Monero close to all the Bitcoin clones if we consider user friendliness. that was biggest Monero problem in past 3 years. Since Bitcoin clones had to just copy/paste code from Bitcoin, Monero had to develop all innovations.
