VRM and ZOIN, mine VRM only if you have plenty of RAM, profitability at this time is similar on both but i would prefer ZOIN since it has great potential :)

Cheers!

Thank you for your recommendation. I visited VRM announcement at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1540023.0, last few discussion is about the hashrate of some cpu type, it is a good reference for mining.

But since you mentioned that the profitability is similar comapred to ZOIN, but VRM required a lot of RAM, then ZOIN should consume less power than VRM, and ZOIN is newer than VRM.

Any other new CPU coin?

Interesting, will fire up my dual-xeons, and will try this again.
Was mining veriums previously, but just forget about that.
Oh, and I hope 32GB is enough for VRM.

One of the things you have to keep in mind when mining with a computer or anything that has a low difficulty is that if you suddenly change the playing field from just a couple of people mining a little bit to putting some real power out there then you're going to raise the difficulty pretty quickly. So even a list of coins that are easy to mine for a CPU is going to change constantly.

May I ask why you need something new? Do you want to diversify? XMR seems to be a pretty solid investment to me.

You can try KRB coin or run Winminer .

I think RieCoin and Hodlcoin are both still cpu only ... I don't know what the profitablity is like on either, though.   I think Nexus has a "dual channel", for both CPU and GPU mining.

MAGI (XMG) is a good CPU only coin. Currently have some problems with the blockchain but it will be fixed soon.

But I just checked on the KRB coin announcement thread, this is just a cryptonight algorithm coin. It is not cpu only coin actually.

I'm mining VRM for 12 hours now, but the most popular pool is closed for registration, so you must mine on others, and the other pools rarely find any blocks...

One of the things you can do is mine the same coin for a little bit back off mine in a little bit more but that's not really fair to the other miners out there and you're kind of jacking up the blockchain a little bit. I mean if only three people besides you were interested in the coin and they were all willing to put a certain amount of speed and power into it and then you came along and up the ante, but that disappear video leaving them with a higher difficulty and somebody has to crack that next block for it to come back down.

Maybe check out ROI-Coin

It is still very new, so profitability would be hard to predict. But the community and dev interaction is very active indeed

Electroneum can be mined with CPU, setting up is easy part, you can find description on their site, and there are few food videos on youtube. Now I did everything like in videos on youtube and miner start but I can't see my hash rate, I'm still looking what kind of problem I have. I hope I will solve it somehow, but Electroneum looks like nice altcoin, so there is a good suggestion, maybe some of you will have more luck with this. Good luck my friends.

I usually read bitcointalk for new coin announcements and i find when a coin is fresh it's profitable for like the first month with CPU mining, even with ASCI Algos. A lot of devs have also been producing Neoscrypt, Cryptonight, and even new algorithm coins, which when you get in early can be very profitable.

I normally don't jump in on coins that have been out for more than a year because as the difficulty rises it makes it hardly profitable with CPU unless you have a powerful one.

Right now the coin i am mining is called Raven, it uses a new algo called x16r with was released as a CPU only coin, but already a week in someone wrote the code for a GPU miner. Even so it is still profitable with CPU, in only a day i mined 700 coins using only two laptops and a Cloud Server. It hasn't even been listed on a exchange yet but when it does it will be very high at first.

This is how i usually CPU mine and it has been very good to me :)

For those who do not invest large sums in GPU and ASIC then that is great method (I'm also applying it)

Used to mine Litecoin on ASIC. Frankly, the yield per day did not exceed 12 $, and taking into account the cost of electricity -  8 $, not thick!
Now I'm thinking about the mastenodes, i've been watching the news about them for a while now. I'm trying to choose from three: GoByte, Zest and LUX.

Still, I'm looking towards the first coin - it's too tempting to hear the latest news about the decline in the cost of the transaction and the increase in profits for the owners of masternodes, which is not the case with other coins - they promise 70% of the award against 30% to the miners. It sounds attractive, and GoByte is not just another scam project - they've already collected the funds and the product is working. Guys, I need you help! Which coin would you prefer from these three and why?
