You can pay with Bitcoin in several stores and even restaurants here in Germany. Are we the only one who have this?  ???

I am sure there are also other countries having businesses and merchants already accepting Bitcoin just like cash. However, we have to admit it that the rate of adoption is not as high as expected all because Bitcoin has become a speculative tool rather than a currency. We have to be realistic about this...here in my country you have to take some effort to have a Bitcoin and because of this people are holding on to their coin in anticipation of the coming rise. Personally, I would not let go of my Bitcoin even if I am eating in a nice restaurant...in this case I would be using my fiat money instead.

So far here in the united states I haven't heard of this being accepted...but Im sure in the future it will be.

You clearly haven't been to Japan or Netherlands and even the US. Several stores are also accepting bitcoin on the said countries and other stores are also following suit on the said idea. It's just because of the volatility that's why merchants are hesitant of accepting bitcoin as a form of payment.

You must be one of the good countries in Europe after the Netherlands. Japan is the country with the most wide acceptance on bitcoin, in big shopping malls or electronic malls you can pay directly with bitcoin. I am not seeing a rise in price in bitcoin about Germany stores accepting it, used to rise in price when Japan started and Australia followed a few months after. It needs more publicity from your country, a great place would be the Messe exhibition of the games industry.

I wasnt aware that you could easily pay with Bitcoin in The Netherlands
and Germany in Europe. I thought I was really only being adopted mostly
in the U.S, Japan and China.

So you are making us jealous right now.  Bitcoin is acceptable here in our country, we can topup our phones and even pay bills and even tuition fees but not to restaurants.  I saw a documentary and bitcoin in New York is acceptable.  Even in uber they are accepting bitcoin but on third party.

accepting bitcoins, but I don't think it would be a lot. Though there are a lot of online services and stores that accept bitcoins.
For example, Dell USA's online store accepts bitcoins.

I'm pretty sure there are some countries out there that do accept bitcoin just like in your country Germany, but if it would be accepted in my country I too would not use bitcoin to pay for my bill when I eat in a restaurant or do groceries shopping. That amount of bitcoin you will use might double up in a month or in a year and you also might regret why you didn't hold on to them. It is really not practical as of this time to spend your bitcoin, that's my thoughts on this though.

I think not only in the germany who accepts bitcoin as payment at stores and other restaurants i know that there are many countries who accepts bitcoin as payment like japan and U.S. here in my country Philippines bitcoin is not legalized but we can use our bitcoins to pay bills and to provide ourselves a prepaid load.

I have not been able to recognize your country because surely every country has its own community in each region. But today the development of stores that accept bitcoin is in a pretty good development around the world. So maybe someday your region will also get this positive impact. Bitcoin target is usable in everyday life. So receiving bitcoin in store and also restaurant is one of the targets to be achieved.

Not actually but in my country, we have a single restaurant currently accepting Bitcoin as a payment method.  However, thanks to the domestic exchange for building awareness about Bitcoin. In last month, 50+ merchants started accepting Bitcoin and I am sure in the coming years we will have 50k+ merchants accepting Bitcoin. I am also optimistic about the larger picture and I think we will have strong Bitcoin market emerging in the coming decade.

Around the world several countries have got the chance of using bitcoin same as currency for payment and on other service necessity. In specific something that need to be discussed better is the availability of services. Right now even in stores that accept bitcoin one cannot get the product we were looking for, can buy what's available. This will change as the years pass and more people get into the using of bitcoin for each and every needs.

From air tickets to restaurants and then physical ATMs, bitcoins are recognized at a lot of places without being regulated. Japan has even more brands accepting the currency.

I think Japan is pretty ahead in this case. They already got lots of giants accepting cryptos where as a country like India with a huge population should have started using Bitcoin which in turn would have increased the demand so high that Bitcoin might have reached 10k$ price by now.

One of my local hotdogs vendors plan to accept bitcoin. They open on the street. I can imagine that the big sign "bitcoin accepted here" hanging on street and every person passing by will look at it.

from my observation, Bitcoin is getting accepted in the developed countries. especially in the USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia. also, some developing countries also started to thinking to use Bitcoin. I hope, within few years, it will become accepted most of the countries in the world.

They are physical stores and there were some schools also accepting donations in bitcoins while the online stores accepting bitcoins are over 500. However, mostly the big names aren't included which could help bitcoin acceptance in our country. Mostly the exchanges like coinsecure and unocoin are well known here.

It would be really nice if bitcoin will be widely accepted just like a regular cash. It will make buying easier no need to bother for a spare change.

I have many friends in Germany and none of them know where to accept bitcoin. It seems to me that your assertion is most likely an exception to the rule. Germany makes some steps towards bitcoin, but these steps are still too timid to change the situation.

Hopefully all countries would have accepted bitcoin as currency in the coming years.botcoin is not a bad thing, it will help the poor the get back on their feet, since the value of bitcoin will still be risinv. We should look at the countries that already accepted bitcoin, they are all advanced when it comes to technology and they know what tomorrow's technology will be since they have the companies that are market leaders, they wouldn't want those companies to go bankrupt, since they contribute largely on their economy, and now bitcoin being accepted as payment will only boost that company and in turn, provide more work and their economy will grow further, this is a simple apttern of economics, wherein if you accept bitcoins, the end result ia economical growth. Japan is leading in bitcoin trading and all the retail shops there accepts bitcoin payments since bitcoin has been legalized in japan.South korea being a tech hub is also a bitcoin friendly country and it may even compete with japan,US and china in carrying large number of bitcoin trades.US having largest number of bitcoin ATMs is also having more retail shops accepting bitcoin.Canada has thousands of merchants accepting bitcoins.

I think there are already some countries especially in europe like yours where bitcoin is already accepted in several stores that's possible as far as I know most countries in europe are already using digital payment system and I feel like I'm getting jealous because here in my country it looks like its still not recognized by most stores and also the people despite of its legality . And here in asia japan is the only country I know where bitcoin is widely accepted .

I am from India and people here still do not accept bitcoin. they do not want to risk their business with Bitcoin,it's because they know that no one is going to pay them btc so I think India has to wait a bit more so everyone at least knows fully on this and then someone will take risk to accept it as payment and that will be the spark where everyone will try to complete that with accepting btc in every shop.

Well, I agree that some country already accept bitcoin and I think they use it to pay their bills in restaurant and its quite convinient. In addition to that, in my country bitcoin is still not accepted and some people do not have any idea about bitcoin. There are several places in Europe that accepts bitcoin in restaurants and stores,have a look at Switzerland ,they started accepting bitcoin in transportation and then in some Asian countries too bitcoin is used on a day to day activities,with time we could see more acceptance of bitcoin world wide.

Now Japan also accept bitcoin . More than 300,000 shop at Japan accept bitcoin for payment . So you can using bitcoin at Japan and no need exchange Yen .

I agree with you. I view bitcoin as a highly valuable investments. In my personal opinion i would not let go of bitcoin for less. Even if i run out of fiat currency i will see to it i spare my bitcoin unless it is something emergency.

In my country bitcoin is not legal yet and i think the acceptance here is so far i don't see any laws that will legalize bitcoin here but i really hope soon it will because bitcoin acceptance is already in japan and in other countries bitcoin accepted like germany you said and you can pay bitcoin in some stores and restaurant that's nice.

If Bitcoin has lower transaction fees, I believe many stores have already started accepting Bitcoin. Actually, Bitcoin is a good payment solution for online stores too.

Bitcoin is not widely accepted in the Philippines, atleast quite not yet, maybe because people are not yet quite knowledegeable about the term or idea of Bitcoin itself that is why it is not yet fully accepted in my country. But I do hope so in the near future that my country would be the same with Germany and that people will soon accept the idea and how efficient bitcoin can be.

i think no becuase if you read before in some news in cointelegraph that japan already accepting bitcoin as payment in a lot of big malls in intire japan so i think this news also reach in some restaurants or supermarkets so they will start accepting bitcoins too

This is great, but this is not new, bitcoin is getting known all over the world, also there were merchants who were using bitcoin now for their transactions. I hope one day if we visit in every country we can see establishments and merchants who accept bitcoin.

Here in my country, you can pay bills and other utilities, buy load using online exchange that supports bitcoin and you can pay them using bitcin as your payment method, it is really efficient since you will not travel from one another billing station to one another, bitcoin really changes things and made our life easier.

In Canada there are some universities that will accept Bitcoin as payment. Honestly though I find more utility in using Bitcoin to pay for online services (e.g. video games, software, porn).

Man how I wish several stores and restaurants here in my country uses bitcoin as payments. But I know not only in your country maybe some country around america and europe uses bitcoin as currency.

I wish the same also for my country. There are only limited people here who knows about Bitcoin and some of them ate still hesitant to use it. Yes maybe some countries in the west uses Bitcoin in the local services. I think there are some stores also in Japan that accept Bitcoin as payment.

In my country, the government has accepted Bitcoin but people are not used to using a new currency like Bitcoin. They do not trust what's on the computer screen, they just believe in the money they have in their hands.

Luckily you are one of the very few countries that has these type of stores and good thing that your beloved Germany is already accepting bitcoin. Not just your country but the people there are supporting it too and that's in the sight of those stores you had mentioned and also with those restaurants.

No, it is not only germany who accepts payments through bitcoin, there are many countries that apply bitcoin payments, one of them japan :)

I think you are saying it wrong. There is only one group of people who are developing bitcoin, and that is only the core, when they develop bitcoin, it is a whole and not for only some countries. Maybe what you are saying is that bitcoin is not that used and implemented in your country because there is still a lot of countries that is the same as your country.

In my country there's a bunch of pretty random places accepting bitcoin. A couple of cafes and online stores. I don't know if it's popular at all with the locals. I personally can't imagine having to spend my valuable coins on a coffee

Bitcoin is being accepted by a large number of countries already. It is now being introduced more in today's time which is why the deman and price is continue on increasing. However, I personally think that it is being accepted as just for an investment. Each country has still their own currencies with its own rates that is being used in their country. Bitcoin being used for transactions in everyday life will still be far from reality because even though it is accepted around the globe, still, small percentage of the users are just using Bitcoin as an investment.

I agree. There are many countries today that accept bitcoin as one of their currency. Eventhough it is digital it is like the real money because you can also use it just like how you use money, in buying things you want, buying projects and ofcourse paying bills. In short, bitcoin can also be your financial assistance when you are in emergency.

I only knew one restaurant that accept bitcoin directly from its customer, and it is where bitcoin meet up happened.  Though there are several third party company that are taking advantage of Bitcoin in online purchases and on of the popular is Coins.ph.  With it we are able to pay for our bills, top up mobile credits, buy online and convert BTC to fiat currency.

In addition to that, I think there are few store that already accept bitcoin and some some country already legalized bitcoin and I think they consider it as  a real money. I hope bitcoin will accept in any commercial store.

In my country there are already place that receives bitcoin as a valid payment instrument. The place are a hotel and restaurant that has promoted they accept bitcoin as a means of payment. And I think this is good news for bitcoin development in my country. I hope more and more places will accept and make bitcoin as their means of payment.

I can imagine buying a car or television in BTC, but can't imagine it being used at a local restaurant right now.

You're lucky to be a citizen of bitcoin friendly country but I'm sure you're not alone there are a few more such countries like Japan for example which are more bitcoin friendly than yours. Talking about my country I would say there aren't too many local merchants, businesses which are even aware of bitcoin let alone accepting it but and a very important but the number of people adopting bitcoin or the ones taking an interest in it is growing day by day and that's something really to be excited about and will definitely lead to local businesses and merchants accepting bitcoin eventually.

Man the transaction times are so expensive and slow with bitcoin, it's going to be a unit of storage and not payments. Not unless we can get some drastic reduction of cost and time via segwit or some other innovation.

No, I have heard some stories like this. It's just that they really don't announce it on the net or in newspapers. Only some of them do that because their retaurant or bar are already known in their country.

Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency it is accepted worldwide, not only Germany but people in other countries can use it. it be accepted "everywhere" :) For trade or investment.

We are still far to reach a massive Bitcoin acceptance in offline stores. That's for several reasons:
- Bitcoin is still unknown for the majority of people
- Bitcoin transactions are too slow
- Bitcoin has becomed more a speculative tool than a payment system
- Merchants get no relevant practical pro in accepting it. Just a little bit of free advertising in the community, but nothing else.

Also, the website which is supposed to pinpoint all the physical stores which accept Bitcoin has never been updated for a while (coinmap.org).

I think so. Bitcoin is not accepted in different countries yet and only a small percentage of countries accepted bitcoin as payment to stores and restaurant. Bitcoin needs a lot of time before it get accepted to the other countries also and i think it will be not fast because bitcoin is just starting to prove itself to the country who are watching bitcoin as of now.

Not just Germany, in Russia, There is currently a big rise of interest in cryptocurrencies and allot of shops have accepted bitcoin, even branches of world fast food brands, it's still more of a novelty than actual use, but there is definitely rising interest that can easily increase overtime.

Wow, that's nice to hear. Surely, there are also other developed countries who have wider acceptance of bitcoin. Sad to say that here in Philippines I haven't heard if there's any merchant who accepts btc as payment. Maybe there are already I just haven't heard of it. But I'm positive that there will be, if none already, in the near future since there are lots of international merchants here. I'm pretty sure they accept btc in their main store abroad.

In Romania there are no physical locations to accept bitcoin payments, but some ATM's. You can also pay with bitcoin in 2-5 online shops and this is all.
Also PayPal has had difficulties, now you can pay with PayPal in may online shops. 10 years ago no one has heard of PayPal, no one knew what PayPal was. Romania is behind Germany with some 10-15 years in what it concerns electronic payments, and electronic wallets.

No, as far as I know all around the world, there many merchants now are bitcoin accepted  such as Starbucks not all outlet, like here in my country we had some restaurant here also bitcoin accepted, which is very nice and awesome to see.

I doubt that you are the only one that can spend Bitcoin directly to merchants. I am quite aware about the formal announcement of Japan, they started accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment last April. After that event, many merchant and businesses began accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment. The last news I remember, even an airport in Japan accepts Bitcoin.

The biggest thing, is a combination of a 20 minute confirmation. And a highly fluctuating value of each coin. I mean you literally have the ability to look at a business's website and calculate that you need 0.00 5 BTC to purchase X item. Which right now should be I think about $17. Now in order to avoid a confirmation. At the store you go ahead and initiate the transaction some of that it's fully confirmed when you get to the store.

You are lucky that your local stores and restaurants accepts Bitcoin as a mode of payment. Here in my country we can pay bills like electric bills and even insurance agencies there are also selected stores but they are located in different areas I know nothing about a physical store here in my province accepting BTC. I hope one day I can see local stores accepting Bitcoin near in my area like restaurants, department stores et cetera. But it is now hard to transact if we have smaller funds or we are going to buy in smaller quantities because transaction fees are too high. No, we have caffes, restaurant and a school that accepts bitcoin for scholarship, and tbh I'm a bit surprised. Also, we got an ATM recently for buy/sell and 2 for just buying btc. We're doing pretty well considering we're not that huge country at all.

Bitcoin is accepted offline as payment method in some developped countries like Germany, but it is still not supported in my country nor in the most countries worldwide. Even online the great marketplaces like ebay and Amazon still not supporting Bitcoin.

There are several countries starting to accepting Bitcoin, and in Japan the government already legalized it, so you can live by only spending Bitcoin in Japan, and in some country bar and restaurant accepting Bitcoin, in Italy you can pay taxi with Bitcoin, I won't be surprised in the next few years there will be a lot of things we can buy using bitcoin

There are lot of merchants that has been scattered all over the world who accepted bitcoin as payment to their business. Some of it was restaurant, coffee shop, fine dining, and some are remittance outlet in the entire world. This thing happen due to bitcoin is volatile. ;)

There is little incentive for a shop to accept bitcoin at the moment.

Granted, its pretty easy to actually accept BTC, via coinbase, bitpay, the list goes on. but what would be the reason? there is a pretty strong chance absolutely none of your customers are actually holding bitcoin, even if they have heard of it. the initial confirmation takes way too long for how fast the average point of sale transaction takes. if it were a drive through, those precious seconds would add up to a big wait for people farther back in the line.

the fees fuck this up as well. you have to sell pretty expensive stuff in order to justify the fees, and you would have to eat them yourself. most modern customers wouldnt accept the idea of an additional fee on top of the purchase price.

and finally, if someone does use bitcoin, if you want to spend it, you have to convert it right back to fiat to buy more goods/pay workers.

so, just easier to take fiat.

I have few known stores in my country who do accept bitcoin as a payment for goods and services. But as of now I don't have any idea if there are restaurants or any food chains that is within my country has the same bitcoin transaction and available features like that.
But it is a must for the popularity of bitcoin as of now maybe there is high numbers of users who are residence here.

In the philippines, we can pay monthly bills such as electricty, water, cable services and internet using bitcoin . But only few people know about this because they prefer word of mouth advertising than using mass media

As far as I know, After the formal announcement in Japan that they will accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment last April, many merchants in the country began accepting Bitcoin. Other businesses as well. Their airport even accepts Bitcoin.

People just started to use paytm here ,  government launched a scheme and motivated traders to use paytm but still not even 50% of them actually use them . People think that digital currency cannot be trusted and is very risky to invest in .

As of now some online store already accept bitcoin because they know that its not a scam and I think if they accept bitcoin they could make and earn more income and funds. It is true that bitcoin is not yet a very popular means of payment to be used in real life, but I do not see too many reasons for it to be so. Even a payment processor as accepted and popular around the world as Paypal is difficult to use when shopping at the mall or eating at a restaurant.

I think it is not only in Germany that has like that, there are many countries also have that, I don't really remember but I think it is in Japan or South Korea. In my country we can only buy loads in our mobile phone and pay bills through bitcoin but as of the moment malls and restaurant dont accept bitcoins yet. I do hope someday we can also enjoy that kind of privilege I think it is less hassle compared to bringing and paying through cash.

I think not only Germans are already receiving payments with bitcoin. Other countries like Japan have done the same thing. Besides that, in Europe, I forgot the name of the country, have received payment with bitcoin for bigger transaction. Such transactions for example to buy a house or buy a luxury car. There are a few stores who accept bitcoin where I live in the United States, Oregon. We also have a bitcoin kiosk in a mall here. It actually makes buying and selling bitcoin or litecoin very easy. The fee is not too expensive if you buy enough ($5 kiosk fee).

Bitcoin acceptance is quite hard on the other country because it is used by some terrorist or maybe some bad personnel that is really also a pan of this bitcoin .Maybe some government did not accept bitcoin because it is easily being uses in some eligal activities. I came from the Philippines. And even if my country is still a developing country, I am proud to say that we are as advance as Germany and other highly developed countries in terms of Bitcoin and crypto acceptance. We have a single restaurant currently accepting Bitcoin as a payment method.  In last month, 50+ merchants started accepting Bitcoin and I am sure in the coming years we will have 50k+ merchants accepting Bitcoin. I am also optimistic about the larger picture and I think we will have strong Bitcoin market emerging in the coming decade.In my opinion I am sure there are also other countries having businesses and merchants already accepting Bitcoin just like cash. However, we have to admit it that the rate of adoption is not as high as expected all because Bitcoin has become a speculative tool rather than a currency.Personally, I would not let go of my Bitcoin even if I am eating in a nice restaurant...in this case I would be using my fiat money instead.However, thanks to the domestic exchange for building awareness about Bitcoin.

There are many countries today that accepting bitcoin as one of their currency.Eventhough it is digital it is like the real money because we can also use it just like how we use our money in buying things we want.  Although in my country I can not trade using bitcoin but I'm happy if other countries are already open with bitcoin.

In my country bitcoin will  be acceptance through  as payment method were officially announce lately on feb 17,2017 when Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, are officially regulating local Philippine Bitcoin exchanges as remittance companies and recognizing Bitcoin as a legitimate payment method.now over 4 million trusted user of coins,ph wallet,and I'm also believe that this sign will be positive outlook to captured the future,

You must be one of the good countries in Europe after the Netherlands. Japan is the most widely accepted country in bitcoin.

In my country, I can use bitcoin to buy some things offline, like in bakery shop.
We also have exchange offices where we can buy or sell bitcoin, bitcoin ATM, some people using btc debit cards.
So, I'm really content with current situation but hoping to see that more shops accept bitcoin.

It's good to here that some of the store in your country accepting bitcoin as a payment. I hope my country too because for now its not legalized the bitcoin in our country. But I heard that some of the online shop will accept bitcoin, maybe nextime I will try it.

I believe that some countries or specifically some people on those countries especially stores, accept Bitcoin as payment. The owners of these stores can be also users of Bitcoin that plan to hold or use Bitcoin in some to benefit them that's why they accept it as payment.

If this is what i also experience in my country on what you have been experience for then i may be have some acceptance ony bitcoin too , but for what i have also experience even though this is not totally as convient as yours i can alo accept and thankful for my current situation in our country about bitcoin.

As of now there are several store that started to accept bitcoin. Accepting as a payment is very nice idea because it is quite convenient and you can pay your bills easily and instantly. Furthermore, I hope in the near future there are company and mall that will allow and accept bitcoin as a payment of their costumer.

Also, it is impossible to spend the same bitcoins more than once, because each transaction is confirmed at least six times when the new blocks are mined.

there are already many stores or trading places in some countries that are willing to accept bitcoin as a means of payment. so it's not unusual if there are other countries or shopping places that will accept tokens as a means of payment.

So far in our country we can't buy a thing that can paid by Bitcoin. They don't know what bitcoin is and what it can do. I'm so jealous because reading of the other comments that can easily use bitcoin when buying in stores, market and etc,. I wish in our country we can pay Bitcoin in the market.

Up to this moment this is the very interesting part about bitcoin because it's intriguing. Many countries are still not approve of the usage of bitcoin and the reason is not certain. Actually it's really helpful once it has been accepted worldwide but that't not an easy task to do. Bitcoin acceptance is what we want and hoping that it will be accepted sooner or later.

I think No, because some other country accept as payment mode, bitcoin is peer to peer transaction so easy pay your bills, Japan i think they adopt bitcoin to pay their bills and send money to their love ones. Who knows in the future, bitcoin accept world wide.

In Indonesia there are some places that accept bitcoin as a means of payment, although Bank Indonesia warns people not to use bitcoin but the Indonesian government does not actually prohibit its use.

Many countries accept bitcoin but others not, Japan use bitcoin in several stores to buy some stuff they adopt and use to transact money. In the Philippines bitcoin also can buy some stuff in online shop, bitcoin as a payment. Philippines recognize bitcoin as a legitimate payment method, I believe that many countries adopt bitcoin for a better future.

More and more countries are getting pro Bitcoin and once lightning network is working in full swing we should see more mass adoption. Also Pundi x is getting ready to get crypto mainstream so you can buy and sell cryptos through it's POS machines and have your cuppa coffee at the same time and buy it with crypto. This will make people coming into crypto and those who have their crypto already more  inclined to use it for every day things, so it will grow eventually the marketcap as well I think and more mass adoption.  :)

As of now only few countries are accepting bitcoin yet others are still weighing and studying the effect of it in their countries, still other banned bitcoin, different country have different opinion regarding bitcoin, it's good to know that there are some who can use bitcoin even in their simply everyday transaction.

for me i think not only in Germany but also, there are many countries also, I do not really remember but I think it is in Japan or Korea. I hope that in the near future bitcoin will be used to pay for products and services that may also be locally accepted in the Philippines,This electronic money. very difficult in my country if it has to accept its existence because until now bitcoin has not legalized its existence in my country still much bebenah in managing economy but already many people use bitcoin as a tool of transaction in every day but all need evaluation because bitcoin very fast spread and existence can stand alone without the help of these companies and banks which is why everyone has the right to own and get it so they assume having bitcoin is not necessarily difficult or complicated because it is so easy to get and indeed has to be distributed.

I think some stores in some first world countries are already implementing Bitcoin and cryptos in their system and as a way of payment. The world is a progressing place and we adapt to the best and what the public like easily. In the future when Bitcoin is publicly accepted and used, it will be fairly common to see stores accepting Bitcoin and cryptos as payment.
