Ripple also recently made an announcement on their twitter handle, possible a next big thing : ) to a countdown.

XRP is not the next big thing. They do not have anything special. The Hyperledger project is more interesting but that project is not a centralized shitcoin like ripple.

It can crash a lot if the countdown is for some silly news :)

Isn’t that kind of like insider trading though? Even if it wasn’t, there’s nothing that would make me want to purchase Ripple over purchasing Bitcoin. The only thing that Ripple is doing good is that they are promoting Blockchain to the people that are using Banks and Banksters as well. With that much promotion going on in the Ripple Project then they should have a bunch people pumping the price since they have a bunch of people with money wanting to invest in something already.
So many large XRP holders are waiting to dump the coin on people that have no clue about it though.

I remember reading an interview from the CEO of Ripple saying that he didn't recommend to invest on it. Since then I never put a cents on it ^^.

Ripple is the worst coin ever made.. Crypto was made to decentralize and remove middle men from transactions..
What are they doing? They're centralizing it and giving it to banks, honestly, I don't know why XRP exists, as Ripple is not connected in any way to XRP.

Buy into hate, sell into love. Buy hated coins when there are rumors of corporate partnerships, which makes people hate them even more.

Worked brilliantly with ETH (upon rumors of Ethereum Enterprise Alliance) and XRP (upon rumors of partnerships with Asian banks). I'm still holding Ripple, since I got in at 600 sat.

Don't expect the kind of gains with it that smaller cap coins will give you now, but it's probably a decent long term hold if you can get a low entry.

Nice strategy. But XRP is doing well again. So with Monero its pumping lately. Ripple has been good for the previous months and with new projects and partnership this is very good to holders alike.

Next small thing I agree. nothing special with ripple. It is a kind of centralized coin that works with banking industry.  I never interested to buy or to hold ripple.

What about Stellar Lumens and LTC? All are running now. Very interesting times.

Ripple is not a coin. And XRP isn't used by anyone. They are two separate networks.

I blame Ripple the company itself for all the misunderstandings.

It will blow down rather blowing up. The sooner the better, we have kept too long for this monstrosity. A centralized coin that does nothing and sits on billions of dollars of market cap, is a disgrace on crypto community.

I think ripple may be trading above $10 before the end of this year. Many people are becoming interested in ripple today because of the beauty of the technology. Hope ripple announcement of big thing should influence the price positively and we would see the price pump till we get to $10 before the end of the year. Like others popular coins we expect this coin to keep compete with others serious altcoins.

I`m talking about ripple and I`m buying ripple. Now I have some nice amount of ripple, will it blow off I don`t know, but if it happens I`m ready and I have some on a side. Ripple is good coin, with active community, this is not first thread about ripple going up. Many coins will increase their value in the future, which coin will be the next big thing is hard to say, I have few favorites and ripple is sure one of the favorites.
If ripple come to 10$ before the end of the year, that will be great, in that case I think ripple can go even higher in next couple years. I don`t like to repeat myself but I`m a long term ripple holders so I wait, and we will see what will happen.

price of ripple can be doubled and will be 3th on the market cap passing bitcoin cash if a good news comes, 8 billion dollar market cap is pretty good for ripple though.

$10 by the end of the year???? For that to happen Ripple would need to reach a market cap of $383bn. Over 5 times the market cap of Bitcoin. More than JP Morgan and Exxon Mobil. In fact it would be the 8th largest company in the world.

in order to "blow off" as the next big thing, that thing has to be offering at least something half interesting or half useful. the issue here is that ripple offers nothing, it is not even considered a cryptocurrency nor decentralized by many! not to mention its weirdly huge supply which is forcing it in the same direction of coins such as Doge went.

and i find it funny that OP is saying "ripple has being doing well" while ripple has been losing its price and going lower and lower each week for the past couple of months.

Ripple has two things, The Ripple Network & XRP.

XRP is a cryptocurrency, and NO one uses it.

Ripple network is what is being massively adopted, and is simply the removal of oversight for money laundering and such.

I think XLM could blow up in a big way.  It just seems like a well run project with a good long term plan and a functional product they can demonstrate right now.

RIPPLE is finally surging, but I don't think it'll ever get much bigger.  Time will tell. I'm' holding under 1000 XRP just to see what happens.

That was the pump of the season. But I can never understand why someone will put money in ripple, there are plethora of good coins in there which are undervalued.
