Title: 808 coin - worth a shot?
Post by: TokenSchmoken on August 24, 2017, 11:31:08 AM
Hi,

Newbie here and relatively new to crytos. Just wondering what are people's thoughts on 808 coin?
One to invest a small amount in and hold as it's priced so low - potential for exponential growth????

173 BTC market cap means one person can easily flip it. In my opinion not worth to invest, another sh** coin without a new features and any future perspective. If you want of course you can give it a shot, I won't :).

I've never heard of it before. Is it about music industry?
I wouldn't invest but it's your choice. You have small amount, you can try your chance. Everything can happen in this market.

Before I tried staking 808coin, I used to just trade it in exchanges. Then last week I decided to try staking this, I made sure that I have enough amount to stake.
So now, today is my first time to earn 808coin staking rewards. From the 1,000,000 808coins that I've staked since August 15th, just a minute ago I earned 190,200 808coins. That's trully in less than 9 days.
Therefore 808coin does what the dev says about how it stakes. This coin is very good to stake. I highly recommend it.

Hi,
My 808 Wallet has 360k. Minting for 24 days but still not staked yet. Has been showing probably within 24 hours of 100% for a few days now. Probably within 10 min showing 10.92%. What is the longest period it could take to stake?
Ian
check your block using coin control instead of the minting tab

Click on the settings tab in your wallet and then options, a box will pop up with some options now click on Display. You will see 2 options and the box you want to check is "Display coin control features (experts only)" once done click apply then okay. Now once you have done that and closed the pop up window click on "Send coins" tab in your wallet and you should see the Coin control features Click the "Inputs" tab and a window will pop up then you will see Tree mode and List mode.  Click list mode.

Loving this coin atm just staked 1.1mil today from the last 9 days staking worth over £700. Who needs to mine with these sort of returns and if it goes back up to 100 sats that £700 will become £2800 every 9 days so worth a shot in my book. Every 9 days i have a load of extra money to invest in other projects/ico etc. the interest is compounded as well🤑

Also with rain getting so much attention and becoming to expensive to buy in large amounts(for most of us non-whales) 808coin might be the next pos coin to moon as its still really cheap

Hello, I invested a small allocation in 808 in my Cryptopia account. Pros on this investment are as follows

1. You get music industry exposure in case you are not invested in Voise, Musicoin or Artbyte coins.

2. You have the ability to stake the coin and earn revenues from securing the 808 network.

3. You have an allocation to a sub $1M market cap micro coin. Recently the large caps such as Ether and Bitcoin have outperformed, but the pendulum may swing the other way and small caps may become in favor again.

This is not an investment to throw your retirement security into, but definitely fits a speculative high flyer bucket.

Thanks again for info and input guys!
I'm blown away by the extent that people on here go to to help and enlighten people...

Does anyone know what exchanges I can buy some 808 - gonna take the plunge, albeit with a small amount initially?

I think that better stay far away from such coins. Invest to bitcoin and be happy. It is the most stable coin in the world

I think this coin is worth a gamble if you are a gambling man. On 1 million coins you should be able to get into profit within 2 to 3 months just as long as the price remains steady which it has for a while now. Yes I am a supporter of this coin because the rewards are just too good to resist so that is why I decided to take the risk and it has paid off big time for me. Like someone said in here, now that RAIN is getting more expensive for the average person they are looking for cheaper coins that offer the same staking rewards, well 808 coin gives a lot more then RAIN. The dev is active in the thread helping people and keeping us update, but I do think also that 808 coin needs something else apart from the high interest. I have posted a few ideas in the thread so I hope the dev takes them on board.

Their web site is extremely basic and gives no technical details about the coin.   Looking at the chart from Cryptopia, it's had very little movement apart from an initial flurry last year and a smaller increase recently.  So, while I'm a big fan of the 808 and I support other music-industry related coins like Musicoin or Viberate, I fail to see the purpose of this coin.

808 coin is worth a try. If you are new to POS world then do not plunge into single coin with all your funds. Diversify your investments and then move ahead. Also there is a saying "Invest only what you can afford to lose". I personally stake this coin and it has given some good returns.

Happy Staking!

Cheers for the advice. It's exactly what I've done. I've bought a few and intend to hodl for a year at least.
They range from xrp to 808 to  Xvg (and a few in between!)

That's right and like I said 808 coin was worth a gamble and for the ones that took the gamble it's now starting to pay off big time. And just look at how the price is holding steady at the current price around 50 sats. This shows that there is some support for this coin now and that the daily volume has picked up which needed to happen for a coin like this to survive. Now it will be interesting to see if it can get to 100 sats.

No, it doesn't worth. Look at the price now. It's other PoS coin with too much inflation that it's going to die

What do you mean with point one there, "music industry exposure"??  How exactly does holding some 808Coin give "exposure"?

A good strategy in principle but very risky, because among these there are a lot of shitcoins. I will not say that this coin is also, as I hear for the first time, but among these I found a good Pascal.
