i sat in on the Regulatory panel consisting of Dan Friedman, Micky Malka, Arlene Chan, Lawrence Lenihan, and Patrick Murck.

i was surprised by the unanimity that eventually a nation state will authorize the use of, if not adopt, Bitcoin.

As much as I'd love to see this...I'll believe it when I see it. (The adoption part not the use part).

I would not be surprised at all. Bitcoin is like fire or the wheel; its adoption is inevitable because it's so revolutionary. Governments will embrace Bitcoin, not fight it.

I've said before that I'm sure I'll witness in my lifetime a sovereign state adopting bitcoin - just don't know exactly when.

Hopefully they do adopt it. It'll be interesting to observe how it affects an entire nation and those tied to it. Too bad it isn't being adopted in a 1st world nation though. That would seriously boost BTC's worth.

not sure it is a good idea. maybe is not that difficult for israel to switch off internet on palestine?

also it has some political implications and like satoshi did not want wikileaks working with bitcoin at the beginnings I think it might not be good for bitcoin at this moment.
