He lies about the subreddit he controls. He regularly lies about his holdings. He lied and scammed his way into the bitcoin.com domain, which he uses to push out FUD about Bitcoin and its developers. He lies on agreements he signs (e.g. "the bitcoin.com pool will mine with NYA/btc1/2x code... whoops just kidding, we're mining bcash instead"). He even had the audacity to lie about what happened in court, when there is a public transcript available which disproves everything he said.

There are more examples of blatant deception that I don't have the time or patience to dig up right now. Make no mistake: the man is, unfortunately, a sociopath.

What is astroturfing?I`ve never heard about this term.
Anyway,great investigation, man.We have to know who are the real bitcoin core enemies.
On the other side,i understand the mindset of all the bitcoin cash/altcoin supporters and btc core haters.
They are always trying to compromise bitcoin core in order to buy some cheap btc and resell them for profits.
Then they use those profits to fund their crypto project and pump their altcoins.

The shills are very much real both here and on reddit and other social media. There's a very clear pattern for anti-Core posters - most of them have 1-2 weeks old accounts, then there's a smaller amount of bought accounts - determined by finding large gaps in activity and sudden change in posting style. The number of genuine users with anti-Core position who regularly join discussions is very-very small - around 10-15 profiles on this forum. It's pretty obvious that there's ongoing paid shill campaign against Core and pro-Bcash, pro-SegWit2x. I recommend ignoring fresh/suspicious shill accounts to avoid feeding the trolls.

I highly suspected Roger was astroturfing for quite a long time. Sad to see it and now some evidence has been discovered by people this is the case.

I've never paid any sort of social media company to astroturf anything, ever.

The person who initially made this claim has since retracted it and apologized as well.

indeed. some noobs might get the impression that these are "real people" but they are not for the most part. this is why Roger Ver´s actions are so toxic, they lead new members into this crazy conspiracy theories.  :-\

Let's do a fact check on this from a neutral (we're all biased, but less annoying at least) perspective.

1.  Vote manipulation - no proof.
2.  Astroturfing - no proof.
3.  Bought accounts to push agenda - no link to Roger Ver, but could be true (seems likely).  You should switch it to "an account" and "bought or hacked" as this is one account and becoming active after a long time suggests that it could have been hacked.  Also be tentative here, because this is reasoning rather than evidence.
4.  MemoryDealers.com founder Roger Ver abuses admin access at Blockchain.info - yep.  Ver stepped out of line here.
5.  Roger buying likes on twitter - you would have thought that with his thousands of BTC, he would have done a better job of it.  Especially considering that the vast majority of top comments on his posts are negative.  I can see how this is potentially shady, but still not really proof.
6.  Antpool was tagged and they responded to it.  I don't see the connection.  There's nothing wrong with them knowing ViaBTC's policy.

Overall, I don't see any particularly good evidence.

He is probably the most bad-ass guy that i have ever seen, even if i go to his country (i do not remember where he is located right now) i am willing to punch him on the face.

he wanted to buy mtgox back then. so it makes sense (to him) to lie to all customers at that time.

I had no idea Ver wanted to buy MtGox but his video claiming everything was alright with MtGox and that the owner of MtGox was sorting out the problem - well it was very bad.

If Ver believed in MtGox and trusted the owner he should have put ALL his Bitcoins there on their exchange and when it sunk Ver should ahve lost it all. I mean, how could he tell people to not worry and be sure nobody would lose their Bitcoin when Ver himself lost no coins?

Most people think that Ver wanted to control the direction of Bitcoin because he is a whale and because he could not take over it he announced (along with Asian whales and Asian crypto exchanges) the Bitcoin Cash fork which was around the same time when (ahem) the Bitcoin network was getting spammed.

Holding thousands of Bitcoin does not give any one the right to try to control the direction of Bitcoin no more and no less than someone holding 0.01 Bitcoin.

Plus do not forget why there was a "scaling debate". The big blockers led by Roger Ver were not fighting for the future of the network, but they were stalling Segwit's activation because it was incompatible with Bitmain's covert AsicBoost.

Stalling woild work pretty quite well fotr his own advantage. Well he has polluted his reputation the minute he says something then backs out on his word the next day. He has done this many times. And the big thing that became an issue is when he wanted people to see bitcoin cash as bitcoin. He basically wanted to discount bitcoin and make people believe, especially the new ones, that bcc is bitcoin.

That video! Why would Ver make a video like that? For what purpose? It makes him look more pathetic than before.

I like the part where the man sitting next to Ver holds his head in disbelief when Ver say "babies are dying because of Bitcoin". He showed restraint and remained calm while Ver spoke nonsense.

In this video Roger Ver comes across as a deluded man in need of medical help because of his rant.

The part where Ver says "What say you" is the best part but unfortunately the video is cut before he could give a response to Ver. I would liked to have seen the response.

People in general and newbies especially need to pay attention when visiting bitcoin.com because it is nothing to do with bitcoin.org and that is where people end up thinking Bcash is the same as Bitcoin.
