Title: GPU 0, GpuMiner cu_kd failed 8 (0), invalid device function
Post by: jyminer on August 30, 2017, 04:10:12 AM
I keep getting the error shown in the subject line.

I'm using a GTX 670M GPU (3GB) in a Win 10 laptop. Nvidia 368.81 driver installed (as recommended in Claymore log output).
Using Claymore 9.8, but also tried with 9.5 and 9.7 with the same result.
(I saw an earlier post about this but it was for linux.)

Batch file contains the following (standard template):

set GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
set GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
set GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-us-east1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal <address>.<worker> -epsw x -mode 1 -ftime 10

(<address> and <worker> are replaced with real values in the bat file... just took out for the post)

Any idea how to get around this error?

Thanks.

Did you find the answer for this?
I'm having the exact same problem with the GTX 670M 3GB gpu.

Nope, no answer. It may just be that 3GB is no longer enough for the current epoch(#141)... not sure.
