Title: What do you look for in a new coin?
Post by: WarrenP on August 31, 2017, 07:27:23 AM
So, I've been thinking about looking into developing a coin at some stage.
I'd like to know what everyone looks for when supporting a new coin?
What kind of things do you like?
What don't you like?

Unique concept/algo if possible.
Zero or low premine.
proper developed wallets and at least a solo mining config.
Forks of popular currency are generally good.

Fast confirm - under 5s is good.
Low fee - 0.01$ per transaction is enough
anomynous - I don't want anyone no how many money I have
many support language and API - that make ez for people built something on that coin like website shopping for exchange market

I think the development team and what they are going to do are the most important thing for a new coin, also a suitable market cap or total supply of your new coin is also very important.

i like coin with new algorithm, but i also like a good roadmap, with an active dev, i think an active dev is everything, if the dev if often mia your coin will die quickly, i also dislike the coin that go on small exchange first, it's better to aim big from the start

I agree with you, sir. investors will definitely see the first who the developers, what they will do in this project. softcap and hardcap want to be achieve, the offered concept and whitepaper that easy to understand. also escrow and smartcontact is the most important to know

The idea, code, the historycal of the developers team itself. Many aspects need to be considered before try to invest in the ico. The competence developers will never think to make a crap Project, i took the tenx or another else similar to that Project. that was a competence team.

what we are looking for from a new coin is a profit or loss. I think that new coins will quickly benefit if the coin is good on the market. and which we do not like if the coins are not good and immediately die there is no demand

A new coin from now on should be a token. We don't need more bitcoin copies, all support should go into one coin-currency. Tokens are much more interesting due to their functionality. The ecosystem in which the token is issued should be dependent on its use, i.e. functionality of the token is essential for the business. This ensures growth. Sending values around is inflationary.

What do you think how many decentralised currencies can co-exist?

it depends on what i want out of that coin ;)
i gave up on any new technology a long time ago. now i am looking for more profit. so i look for a coin that has the most potential for rising. aka pump-ability, so if they have a good advertising team and lots of shills and if i can find it before the pump i will be interested.

but on rare occasions i find some interesting concepts too. for example i find GBYTE very interesting. the DAG is a new and interesting concept to me, it also has anonymous transactions.
so to answer your main question, i will be interested if the new coin actually contributes something to advancement of cryptocurrencies, not just clone another coin.
i also prefer 0 premine, 0 ICO, a good distribution from block 0 without any hidden coins for the dev or anything like that.

Bitcoin is a relatively new form of currency that is just beginning to hit the mainstream, but many people still don't understand why they should make the effort to use it

Simple answer is "Because i want get some profit"
Full answer is I want get some profit and learning how that coin price raise up. But when i always try to invest, i never got luck in new coin and always lose profit.

Having a good roadmap and having an active developer does really have anything and this is the primary things that i do seek for a coin.Talking about new features i guess all are being offered on some coins in the market and there are lots of them. The thing i do like to see is to those project who have real world usage and innovation that it would give to mankind.

For, I am seeking some new coins with some deep research about its team, the idea and products, also the ICO details, but the most important thing is the market performance after the ICO is over.

It also seems like trust is a very important aspect for a new coin. Many new coins I've seen launched have questionable things happen with the dev just ignoring questions or muting/blocking people on various channels.
I think that's a solid no no.

Another aspect I think you need to get right is the launch, if you are going to launch at a specific date you have to have your stuff ready... wallet, pools etc etc.

When I support a new coin, I want to support those with innovative ideas and has a good team with good public relations. Also, I look into the roadmap and I support those who always try to stick with their roadmap no matter what. I also check if the supply is efficient enough or too many. The things I dont like seeing in a coin is having a bad idea with a bad public relations. Also, I dont like the coins that have a shitty roadmap that looks like it is not well thought.
