Hey all!

Just writing this to let you all know of a website I recently developed with the help of a member of BitTask (excellent website by the way). The website is nothing specifically "new" but it puts a twist in other ways this has been done before. And also is one of the few up right now. It is difficult to get a BTC debit card but very simple to get a GreenDot card ( https://www.moneypak.com/WhoAccepts.aspx ) and with this service you can transfer the funds from BTC to Fiat.

Whats so new about this!?:

Currently a lot of people that are exchanging BTC for MoneyPak do it manually which in turn takes in upwards of 12-24 Hours - KoukanExchange has it all automated. At any given time there will be 10-20 MP numbers for "sale" which will be sent to the buyer after 3 confirmations of payment - Less than 30 minutes. We are planning on being around a while - we currently have two $30 MoneyPaks up on the site so that people can gain our trust, I will put up more numbers within 12-24 hours. I encourage any people that are suspicious to buy the 30$ MoneyPak to review the service or inform me of anything I can fix.

Whats the cost?:
We will be getting the price from "BlockChain" and then adding a  fee. That's it! No 5$ on top of everything. Just a flat fee whether you are buying 30$ or 500$! Yes this is extremely cheap - cheaper than most other places so take advantage!

Where are the reviews from the 30 dollar mp?

When a moneypak costs $5 to purchase, and your fee is 7% this would make no sense to buy a moneypak for $30 and offer to sell it on your site. You're only get 2.10 of your $5 fee. This is very suspicious honestly.

I understand your suspicions. I am offering an extremely good deal now to establish good reviews/client base. Also I will not really be selling many low priced MP #'s for that exact reason. The little money lost from selling a couple $30 MoneyPaks is not that big of a deal when those clients that buy the $30 MP buy a $500MP later down the line. The goal is to create rapport with the suspicious customers with the smaller MP. The 30$ MP buyers should be posting today.

I decided to hold off on a review for a bit because there were a couple minor problems with the site, which however have been fixed.

The automated feature works, and I got a MoneyPak almost instantly after my $30 transaction went through.  There was a minor issue with it that was immediately fixed, and made better to far more than my satisfaction.  Basically, the site owner gave me much more than the MoneyPak I purchased because I did not exploit an error in the site which could have been worth a lot of money to an unethical person.

I've waited to make sure the problem is fixed before reviewing.

The other minor issues, fairly typical of an early rollout, involved there being one digit too many in the amount due generated by the form, causing potential nuisance with the Bitcoin-Qt client and others that don't readily accept so many digits after the decimal point.  All my initial niggling problems were rapidly fixed.

In my opinion, the site seems legit and is willing to address problems immediately with a bug fix.  I think it may be fit to fill the hole left by the disappearance of btcpak.com.

Thanks for the review Darkmule! As for the too many decimal's, I have found the fix to this and am going to implement this weekend in the site along with a couple other minor bug fixes. That was my bad! So many people bought the $20 MP at the same time that the system sold it to all of them. My system does not take the MP off the site until the BTC has been confirmed three times, so within those thirty minutes or so you two bought a 20$ MP before my system took it off. Juneteenth also stole 1975 USD in moneypak from me.  he claims his account on here was hacked in the 2 hours he solicited my business and took mymoney.   I can't believe the admin is letting this guy work on here.  Hacked his fucking account huh?  Well, if he is too stupid to get a password to withstand a "hacking" then he isn't qualified to trade BTC in the first place.  

Come on admin.  Do your jobs.  This is one of the only places that people consider to be completely above board.   If we have navigate through scammers we might as well just send off for moneypaks on blackmarket reloaded or something.   This site's credibility is in the hands of two bit scammers like juneteenth.

I have the PM's.  I've posted them.  If you believe JT's ridiculous account of the events.... which coincidentally keep occurring then i wll gladly shut the hell up.

If you goto store you have to wait 7-10 business days for you to receive a personalized card PLUS you're paying $4.95. This way its free and you can use ASAP. Hope this helps took a couple hours of research to figure this out!

I have used Koukan several times now and it has been VERY reliable.  Usually only takes about 30 minutes.

I was given a moneypak number today that is invalid, but it appears to be a typo.  I'm sure he'll get back to me soon with a remedy.

Only suggestions I'd make (besides maybe doublechecking the pack):

1. Only go out 2 decimals.  Since the smallest moneypaks available are over $200, it can mess with your eyes.  Not to mention some exchangers/wallets don't go out more than 2/3 decimals.   So if you mess up and send 3.113 instead of 3.116.... you can't fix it.   :)   And are we really worried about the 10 or 15 cents?

2. The ability to cancel your order.  Once a mistake is made (like I thought I had more money than I did) you can't cancel.  I feel bad tying up that MP while he waits to manually cancel.   Although that is really a problem for him and not me.  Still, like to keep  it "square business."


Other than, this is pretty much as good as BTCPak was while it lasted.  And cheaper too.

Very responsive admin and has never taken me more than a few hours.

Once accidentally sent me a $1,000 MP when I'd just purchased a $30 one.  Since I'm not a thief, I didn't cash it in, but the guy actually sent me a $180 MP instead.  So far as I can tell, this site is completely legit.

That seems to be tha flaw in the whole system :( I dont know if this has been mentioned before but it should be changed so that once you send the first payment, unconfirmed it takes it off the list. Than doesnt release the codes until its confirmed. If within 24 hours the payment isnt 100% complete it will put the code back into the list.

2. he has the sorta bug with the double buy at once thing going one which is more likely to happen at lower amounts
3. he makes more money with higher amounts so why do lower ones? He has to pay a $5 for every money pack he buys. so a 20,35,50 isn't worth it wen he can buy 1 $200 one and have that sell, make the $5 he put into the pack + interest from the 7%.

The $100 amounts closer to 1 BTC is a more go to for people. at least for me. If my math is correct you make $2.05 profit from a $100 pack you put up. So as i see it $100 would be your lowest realistic price you can go and still get a profit.

I bought a $500 moneypak but it didn't seem to work.  There seems to be a discrepancy at the 9th decimal place.  I am sure I sent the right amount because I copied it right off of the order form and pasted it into the field on blockchain.info.  Any ideas?

Although you should only use moneypak codes to add a paypal balance or to add funds to a greendot prepaid card.

I don't understand how I could buy a $500 moneypak for $547 one day, and the next day a $500 moneypak costs $650.  I saw that the OP refers to his rate being "close to" preev.com, but this doesn't account for the difference.

Right now Preev is 111.40 and Mtgox is 111.42.  Where is this "blockchain last" price?

You can only fund U.S (United States of America) Paypal with MP codes no other country. And when there was not such a HUGE difference between GOX and the other exchanges; that statement was true about it being close to PREEV. I made that statement months ago; and it was true up until GOX was a huge 15% away from any other exchange. Not many people trade by GOX standards anymore because you can pull money out of GOX.

Like it says though the price is calculated using the BlockChain price 7% fee. No witchcraft or magic done to make the price artificially high. Do the math; it will add up.

This has been the price mechanism the entire time we have been open for business, I will reevaluate the price and may start to go by BitStamp prices or CoinBase prices, but each of those are BELOW the BlockChain price - so even if I did that I would end up charging more. I would love to go by GOX standards; but if I got the coins and threw them up for sale of GOX I would have to wait God knows how long to get Fiat out. Whereas if I got the coins and threw them up on CoinBase I would only have to wait 3-5 days for the wire transfer to come in. At a 7% fee below BlockChain I make ~6$ on every $100 sold minus the $4.95 to purchase the codes in the first place. I am not making $150 on a $500 code.

Plain and simple; to run this business with success, I can not go by MtGox pricing because while their price may be higher there is no way for me to actually get my coin into fiat with Gox.

And Preev.com pulls its price from Gox.

I have used blockchain.info for at least 18 months.  Since I read this thread, I have clicked around and I don't see such a price anywhere.  I do see a "market" tab on the top of the site but the link has been down for at least two days.

I WANT you to make a profit, and I understand that nobody is getting money out of gox.  That is the whole reason I am here in this section of the forum.

Why would he need to since he isn't dealing with fiat exchange?  I thought selling items for BTC is not something you need to register for YET.

The only thing that would get kind of sketch is when you change your coins collected back into dollar. than use dollar to buy mp than goes to coin and back to bank. After awhile they will be like um... and come knocking. Although koukan could just use tor to connect to his webservers, fake info on the domain purchase and stuff of that nature to protect himself. Although it isnt "legal" to trade mp's for bitcoins, its a grey area.
