(I am using the word period, not the time).
As we know we recently touched $5K mark and then investors booked profit for further investment which resulted in the price fall. Now, at this stage, many investors will again invest certain part of their portfolio and we might see $5k mark again within a month or few weeks. Thus in this cyclical process, there will be a volatility in the price so if someone is willing to invest for the long term then he can systematically invest in Bitcoins in a smaller amount at certain intervals of time to take the benefit of price volatility using cost averaging technique. Thus considering expected price volatility, I would say this is a good period to invest in Bitcoin. P.S - This is my personal opinion and it might be completely wrong, one should do his own research before taking any investment decision. Hard fork did not killed it so what else can kill it? world war 3. Then all the computers need to be offline. Currently, see it as a risky investment but still with a stable future if all heads the good direction. If you have long term future investment I would only recommend putting 10 15% into cryptocurrencies since it can go up and down. So who knows how high this can be when you need to withdraw to get your money back in 10-15 years no one knows.

Cryptocurrency as a whole is pretty much the same, though other cryptocurrencies have way more unstable values that, while the same rules that apply to bitcoin apply to them as well, are alot more unpredictable. Unless something large happens that affects the cryptocurrency market negatively, we live in a era that truly opens a lot of new possibilites for new trade commodites.
