Post by: loucy on May 24, 2013, 08:37:08 AM If you want something that runs a miner on some piece of hardware *and nothing else*, you don't need a "linux distro". Take a linux kernel (from any of the popular distros), then create a ramdisk for initializing network hardware and starting the miner.
Taking stuff from an existing distro means that you don't have to maintain all the stuff yourself, only your specific mining ramdisk. Depending on how versatile you want this to be, it won't be very difficult for someone with good linux system administration background. |
