I would like to be this judge  ::)  if its still possible.
Rewards seem high for such easy job...  :o ~150$ almost 2G2BT but not much is at risk so enroll me :)
Question: Does judge have full autonomy or are there some guidelines from your team?

I would like to be a judge if possible to. I would love to be part of this too in the future.
Any criteria to be a judge?

We think the only criteria is art vision.

We are glad there are 3 possible judges already. If there will be no more, we will select you. If there will be more we will try to select on member rank, or if it will not be possible, just randomly.

We are using Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

Judges will be selected between people offered themselves till today 18:00 GMT. It is less than 5 hours from now.

Judges will select the winners at their sole discretion. Judges will receive their reward regardles of their choice.

Still, we kindly ask to be good guys and select the best ones.

I think choosing someone here in bitcointalk to judge a design contest may not be fair for all contestants. Someone may offer themselves as a judge but at the same time use an alt account to enter the contest. He could choose his own entry as the best if that's the case so he could win. It's better to choose someone reputable in here to avoid such thing or better yet put the judging decision to your own team and not to anyones else here in the forum.

I am great at judging other people  :P

And I think you need a newbie on your team because of the fresh breeze of youthfulness it brings to the party.  ::)

Please pick me.

Well, it makes sence.

>It's better to choose someone reputable in here to avoid such thing

Can you suggest anyone? Maybe you?

------------

I will try to explain the idea. If there are Judges, who will have control of funds - participants can trust 3 people will not do fraud at one time. If 2 of them will be able to release funds, they will have to agree on something.

If we control the funds - how participants can trust us? Newbie account, almost nothing to show now?

Another thing that is in mind: if Judges will not be able to agree, there will be no winner.

Escrow? But then again - why trust to escrow? why trust to our choice?

We didn't think it will be so hard )))

On the other hand, we planned budget of: 1 ETH + 210 CDRT for this and will use it. The topic was transfered from Bitcoin thread because of payment. But if there will be no smartcontract, it is possible to pay by Bitcoins too.

We need signatures on 15 September, so there is some time for getting all opinion and do this.

jaceefrost's post has some good logic behind its content.
However aren't you tired of giving profits to the same members every time?
Just because they earned some positive feedback on lending money or being a middleman? I am.
In my honest opinion OP should go with "first come first serve". There was plenty of time to submit for this job,
and 3 high rank members did. They where fast, first not without reason, in only means that those are active and engaged forum members (speaking for myself and yes, I'm among first 3).
Topic was posted and job was offered, not a good idea to back out from this, could leave bad impression that OP is not a serious person. I think that only alternative and good way out would be judging by OP's team, other than that...
first trio  ;D

if there is more time to receive a judge I can do it
but is it possible that a judge needs only the will to choose the best designer?
I think a judge should be more than that.

It will be honor for us if you will accept the position of Judges in Signature Design Contest. If there is a reason you will not accept the position please let us know. Next in line will be:

hashforce101 and slaman29

------------------------------------------------------------------
We would like to offer the following way to vote:

0. all votes are made in Contest thread and are public;
1. each of you selects 3 best work (9 selected);
2. each of you selects 2 work out of 9 (6 selected);
3. now each Judge vote for each work, votes calculated and the work with least votes is out. Repeat untill 3 remains.
4. we will give the final time, when decision should be made. If by this time Judges will not come to decision, than our team will select the winner. We will start where Judges have stopped: we will select from those works Judges already selected.

Any objections?

------------------------------------------------------------------

We would like to end the contest on 13 September, so we would like Judges to consider if they will be available on that date?

We will give some guidliness to contestant what we would like to have, but it is Judges sole discretion which work to select. We will not interfere in process.

Judges can disqualify any contestant for insults. Can be decided by only 1 Judge and is obligatory for everybody, even for us!. We expect Judges will use this right carefully.

Judges have right to discuss works privatly, but voting should be public.

We expect honesty from Judges. We think it is fair, if Judges will disqualify those offering bribes in PM. We think it is fair that Judges should not offer their works under other nicknames. Though after we selected Judges we do not have control on that.

Judges will be paid for their job even after paragraph 4, but we expect Judges will do everything for this not to hapen.

Any other suggestions?

------------------------------------------------------------------

We were thinking of smartcontracts on Ethereum. But probably this is not the best idea after all.

Escrow will be better: any recommendations or offers?

We would like to explain our decision to make a Contest and to use Judges.

Idea was suggested by UCHCHILD and we found it great. We had some doubts but poptok1 opinion was convincing.

Selecting designer privatly will filter a lot of members. Most of them are not able to spent a lot of time on forum getting high rank, most of them are not able to have large portfolio. Still they can be really talanted people, while ones with high rank, portfolio and positive feedback can be overestimated.

We are going to ICO and by this we are asking people to give us a chance. Why shouldn't we give a chance to others? Maybe some talanted designer will find his way?

We had plenty PMs offering to make signatures 1/2 cheaper than we are expecting to spend. Well, a lot of thing are about money, but not everything.

On the other hand, only one work will be selected. We think it fair to reward at least 3 first places, so people would know that good work is paid.

We also think that community have right to give its opinion. Community will select one more winner.

We selected 3 Judges  because we would like to make the Contest as honest as it will be possible. We selected higher rank members hoping they  treasure their reputation. They are completly independend from us, we stated many times that we will not interfere in their decision. So we hope that there will be no complains about the Contest.

We pay to Judges for their work. First of all it is fair that the work should be paid. Also, having reward for their work, we believe Judges will be honest to contestants.

poptok1 reporting in  ;D ready on taking judging job. JJ  (thanks for giving this opportunity)
As to suggestion about escrow, take a look at this list (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0) of most popular and trusted members. I have no reason not to trust OP so for me escrow in not a 100% must, however always looks nice, when all the forum "procedures" are in check :)

Just to clarify, we as the judges are selecting 1(one) winner, that is obvious. The second "community" winner will be selected by everybody, everyone interested in voting, right? (IMO great idea)

We have short delay, our own designer not ready with logo ) It should be ready very soon.

Meanwhile we are waiting for the third Judge to respond.

We will ask escrows from poptok1 list, full amount will be escrowed.

Judges selecting 1-2-3 places. All of them will have reward.

4th place - community winner, reward too.

Have we been all trolled once again  ???
It wont be the first time this happens and probably not the last.
Was fun for few minutes, I just hope that nobody lost to much time preparing BB content.
No need to add what this means for the coin, do I?  ::)

Edit: OP contacted me today. Aparently this thing is still...a thing :)
        Lets wait and see.
