Title: Centralized vs Decentralized Exchanges
Post by: Ucy on September 04, 2017, 03:36:54 PM
What is really the difference between the two?
Considering the sensitive nature of Cryptocurrencies & how governments feel about them I thought most exchange owners would find Blockchain Exchange more attractive than the current Centralized ones. Thought the original idea behind Cryptocurrency was to decentralize things in other to evade senseless censorship and unnecessary regulations. Why do exchange owners keep encouraging Centralization? Is Decentralized Exchange not practicable or not good enough? Is it due to speed , security, practicality or what.
What is really going on???

A decentralized exchange is always better, no matter what as there is no need to provide real life info even If you want to bypass limits, you are in control of funds at all times, fees are much less etc. Here is the thing though, the only exchange we currently have is Bitsquare.io (I believe they changed the name to something else now) and It's not that good. If only the open source decentralized projects had enough funding and investors, this wouldn't happen.
