Title: NEW - CONFUSED ABOUT LINKING BITCOIN TO MY BANK
Post by: joeb44 on September 04, 2017, 04:42:21 PM
Can I link Bitcoin account directly to my bank account?  Or do I need some third party -- such as Coinbase?

Unless you've got an amazing bank, you'll need to use Coinbase or some other such third party.

You can't. Bitcoin isn't linked anyway with any bank or third party. You will ways need to deposit your coins into a third party to sell them to USD/EUR and then, transfer the money to your bank account.

Edit: The forum is so laggy right now that it took me 5 tries to post this lol

Ok - at least I am on track!  I did create a Coinbase acct, and linked it successfully to my checking account.
As trial, I "purchased" small amount of Bitcoin through Coinbase (using my checking acct).  It says the [Suspicious link removed]ives in 8 days.
So if I have someone transfer USD into my Bitcoin account, am I able to immediately transfer that amount to my checking?  Or is there a delay on that???

My experience with Coinbase has been that the selling of Btc to USD is immediate, but then it can take up to a week for the funds to appear in my checking account when I send them there.

At least it tells me it can take that long. With USAA, my funds usually appear the next day. That probably depends on your bank to some extent.
