1. Regularly read Bitcointalk forum
2. Check coinmarketcap.com for current real coin values
3. Check coinmarketcap.com history of coin you are interested in
4. Check the ANN thread of the coin on Bitcointalk
5. Many coins have their own blogs/ forums you need to follow to be up to date
6. At start choose coins that are already established and stable
7. Make yourself a portfolio of 3 - 5 coins for start
8. Do not jump in ongoing coin pumps, you never know when it will dump.
9. Make yourself a strategy for coins you will long term invest and maybe 2 gamble coins that are more risky but offer higher profit.
10. I recommend starting with Bittrex I cannot recommend Bittrex anymore because they need to verify your IDENTITY in order to let you withdraw BTC and alt coins.
11. Do not instantly sell your coins if they dumb instantly for no obvious reason ( research why)
12. At the beginning its better to aim for small profits like 5% - 10% +
13. Always keep some BTC to react when needed (buy)
14. Start slowly, take your time. 2 month in research and observation is recommended.
15. Always reinvest a share of your profit in your favorite coins and use a share of profit to gamble
16. Do not jump instant in new coins with big investment. If it looks promising to you start low and follow the progress.
17. If you advance and make good experience you could start to invest in icos, but watch out lots of scam around.
18. Pull out some % in USD from your profit from time to time.
19. Control your emotions when the prices is going up or down.

* Additional Tips from community members:

20. Never be emotional in your trading. Be objective! (thx to @Investor for the tip)
21. I also advice that when you already developed a good trading strategy, you stick into it and keep your discipline  (thx to bamboylee for this tip)

I agree with your points. You should especially look for forum threads in the announcement section that have more views than the others. This means that these threads attract more attention then the others. Here you can find some of the most promising altcoins. Then try to find out which of them are still undervalued (relatively low market cap, not in the top 20 of coinmarketcap but on the other side, the market cap should not be below $10.000.000, there should be already some kind of a value). Make sure that they have a strong community and active developers with a plan for the future.

1 question:

"the market cap should not be below $10.000.000"  Why not? I do have some coins with cap 2.5 mio and I cannot complain. Can you elaborate why you aim for 10 mio cap?

Nice input. Most of your advice is true and these can be easily undertand by begginers.

What he meant might be because most of coins which have small market cap ($10 million) will be dead and turned to shitcoin (price dropped to 1 satoshi) and people don't trade that coin again.

1. Regularly read Bitcointalk forum
bitcointalk is very good but it also is filled with lots of FUD and false information. specially about altcoins, people always hype them up when they aer bag holding not when they are low and starting to rise.

Quote
2. Check coinmarketcap.com for current real coin values
3. Check coinmarketcap.com history of coin you are interested in
it is best to check the exchanges to get the live data instead in my opinion.
mostly because the charts on exchanges are a lot better than the charts on coinmarketcap.com

Quote
4. Check the ANN thread of the coin on Bitcointalk
5. Many coins have their own blogs/ forums you need to follow to be up to date
the same as #1. it is good but as long as you are aware of the hype.

Quote
8. Do not jump in ongoing coin pumps, you never know when it will dump.
for starters, i agree. this is a good suggestion. but jumping on pumps is one of the good ways of making profit consistantly every day.
i find it better than holding an altcoin and hoping for its price to go up.

Quote
11. Do not instantly sell your coins if they dumb instantly for no obvious reason ( research why)
it depends on how much it got dumped and what coin we are talking about.
sometimes some coins are not worth hanging on to.
sometimes the dump is going to be big and selling with a stop loss is much better than just holding on to something that is losing value.

i agree with the numbers that i didn't quote.

You mean there is a chance that the coin could die if no "real value" is behind the coin?

I like low cap undervalued coins too. But you have to buy them less than overs. For example my basic entry stake is 5% of my deposit. So in low cap high risked coins I should invest only 2.5%. I like the expression that you can lose only 100%, but the gain can be much more - it works)

Agree, I also do it like that just my % are a bit different, But same strategy and till now it works (most of the time :-))

Yes that could be. If marketcap of that coin doesn't increasing or keep dropping from time to time, it will be delisted from market/exchange site which resulted you lose your investment because it doesn't has any value again. Example : DIEM coin

I do have the feeling that smaller cap sometimes attract buy-and-hold investors more than the larg cap coins. Whats your thought?

You right there. There are some people who want to buy coin which has small cap because it's cheaper than big market cap, and there are some people who want to buy because they think that coin has big potential in the future. Invest in smaller marketcap is like gamble for me, if you are lucky, price will be up and you will ended up with profit, if not, your investment won't growing.

Begin SMALL ! I feel compelled to push this as much as possible. I couldn't care less how certain you are or how much research you've done. I couldn't care less in case you're a prepared stockbrocker with 20 years encounter on Wall Street. Welcome to the unstable universe of cryptographic money exchanging where showcases frequently change in minor minutes. A steady market can be pumped or dumped by one whale and markets rise and fall in minutes and a few times even seconds.

Little means diverse things to various individuals. A decent dependable guideline is, "Never contribute more than you can stand to lose". On the off chance that you do this and have a win some lose some state of mind, you will quite often have a wonderful exchanging encounter.

OP, I agree with most of your posts but I believe a good advice for a beginner will also be to watch videos about coins on youtube from time to time. And I really don't get your #15 advice. I think recommending a newbie to gamble with some of the earned money is a rather bad advice. Moreover, you talk about investing the profit one made.. I believe some profit has to be withdrawn, for otherwise there's no profit at all.
I like low cap undervalued coins too. But you have to buy them less than overs. For example my basic entry stake is 5% of my deposit. So in low cap high risked coins I should invest only 2.5%. I like the expression that you can lose only 100%, but the gain can be much more - it works)
I think low cap coins are just too risky for one to invest in them, you know. They can be pumped and dumped to easily by their creators. It's better to invest in big cap coins, they are generally more stable.

1. "Always reinvest a share of your profit" you might have read over this....
2. With gambling I do not refer to "dice games and such", gambling = invest in coins that are more risky...

Other, thank you for your participation to this topic!

Also, if I may add onto your list is that buy the dips whenever you see the opportunity to do so because top-notch coins is going to recover when that happens.

Great job, bro, for making this very useful tips list for beginners. Newbies will find this a guiding list for them to start their journey in cryptocurrencies. If I may add though, I would say: never be emotional in your trading. Be objective. Another one, do not be afraid nor disappointed when your coin is going down, it will bounce back definitely.

start off by buying some ark now, still very low marketcap. ark should be a top 5 or top 2 soon, well, after bitcoin of course. just ignore other scam craps with so much hypes.

For point 11 I handle it like... CRAP... telling myself to calm down accept the loss... BUT I usually hold ( as a loss in mind) it if I cannot find evidence for the dumb. In 5/10 situations the coins rise after... but its a sort of gambling, yes just I cleared my mind and accept the loss upfront...

^^^ If you only hold 2 or 3 coins it can be tricky, tho... 30% of your investment in that coin and its dumping... ofc every 1 will get wet feeds... just a question of time...

I usually accept the loss upfront and give it a time to recover in my head :-)  I had one example with RDD lately... It dumped a lot and I had some good amount of money in it... I said ok this is lost...1 week...2 weeks... 3 weeks.... I was daily on their almost dead forum :-), but things started to move so I could sell it with a profit... but it was close to bigger loss if I would have dumped it...

^^^^ Hope that helps, somehow :-))))

This is a very useful thread. A lot of new traders always expect fast and easy income without the risk of this. They just hold on to the basic rule of 'buy low-sell high'. They seem to forget that trading needs a lot of analysis with the coins you are investing in.

Nice list of tips especially for beginners. I also advice that when you already developed a good trading strategy, you stick into it and keep your discipline. Some traders lose their discipline when they are already having lots of profits. Remember that discipline and self control brings you profit in this business.

but for me this is still less because it is important for beginners to teach how to read candle charts. I also still do not understand how to read the right.

Thank you!

I hope I got your question right, but reading the charts is looking in historical ups and downs per day, weeks or month. It will show you trend lines and moving averages. Charts can give you a hint about stability, dump and pump cycles and the overall growth of the coin in the selected period. (what is not a full historical overview rather a time framed window).

Example: A coin starts today with 0.00023454 and will hit 0.00023898 at the end of the day. If you select the daily chart, it will show you how the value razed or felt per hours of the chosen day.

Now I try to manage my emotion while trading, try my best not to do panic sell nor panic buy
For a very beginner like me, it's better to gain profit even the smallest than losing money  :-X

I think the cardinal rule for a newbie is controlling ur emotion when the market is going ur way and against it.speaking as a newbie myself I know when to enter a trade but when to exit is a major problem for me.and greed also plays a major rule.i usually set my TP at 10% but when it gets to 8-9% I usually extend it.sometimes I get lucky and make but most time I lose almost everything. And I usually don't know when to cut my loses because immediately I cut my loses the coin starts rises.though I have learnt to take my loses with a bold approach as I consider it all a learning experience

Experience is the key in trading! And everybody needs to start at some point to get this experience, loss is part of learning process...

Some beginner tips:

10. I recommend starting with Bittrex

Add:

18. Never be emotional in your trading. Be objective! (thx to @Investor for the tip)
19 I also advice that when you already developed a good trading strategy, you stick into it and keep your discipline  (thx to bamboylee for this tip)
20. Pull out some % in USD from your profit from time to time.

Good luck!

i suggest you to learn indicators. start with simple ones like Relative Strenght Index and Moving Average. with RSI you can see overbuy and oversell situations.  i'm using rsi for daily trades. and it helps a lot.

rsi is rate of buy/sell.  if it is over 70 it means overbuy and its signal for selling.  and if it is under 30 it means oversell. signal for buying.

From options trading - be mechanical! If your trading strategy that you (hopefully) wrote down first says to take an action - TAKE THE ACTION. Analyze later whether or not that was a good strategy/move and if there was an adjustment that would've turned out better. Think about the potential risks of incorporating that actions or adjustment into your strategy, then test. Keep a log and write results.

Agree with your list of tips from us, beginners. My very tip from a beginner is START SMALL. Even if you've search well enough or you have experienced in other trading, crypto world trading is very volatile. Markets rise and fall in minutes some in seconds. Small means different things to different people. As a good rule, "Never invest what you can't afford to lose".  If you do this and have an attitude that you can win sometimes you lose, you will almost always have a pleasant trading experience.

It's difficult for newcommers, and there is no-sure method. The safest bet with ICO's is to check every bit of credibility of the devs, bitcointalk accounts, the information they post, any previous coins they worked on and etc...

Ask tough questions to the devs, don't just throw your money at them because you see a bandwagon of potentially fake account going there way, throwing btc at them

I think your step in trading well, I like your way. thanks for the step and i will try it But if I can ask, how to distinguish the real and fake ICO?

I made a thread about starting an ico with some tips from community members here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2131560.msg21629882#msg21629882 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2131560.msg21629882#msg21629882)

This tips can be used as a guide to investigate an ico as well, but you will never be 100% sure if something is scam or not as in most cases the scam gets revealed soon after the ico is held or even 1 year after. Of course there are scam projects that a smart brain can detect instantly after checking the ANN thread, but this is not the rule...

There is also the problem that some projects needs pre-funding to deliver MVP and collect marketing budget. This projects can be seen as risky, but again it depends on the idea, the team and the strategy. I wouldn't generalize never, rather look individually in the project.

If you found a ico that does not full fill all requirements at start, but the idea, team and strategy is proper for you, JUST INVEST SMALLER AMOUNTS! Invest something from your risk budget 0.5, 0.1, 0.01 if you really like it and think it has future, start small.... Its hard to say in today's time what ico will be scam or not ...

Analyses are major important and keep your emotions out of trade! So I agree to be analytical and permanently adjust your strategy based on the collected data, BUT stick to the "main points" of your strategy.

For me it's crucial to study project thoroughly before investing.

The main problem is that it is very time-consuming and you most liked don't have competencies to assess all aspects of the project.

Though there is a platform which is being developed that will help solve this problem.
See Dolphin blockchain intelligence (https://presale.dolphin.bi)

Exactly, the main requirement for trading is analysis. Because when you trade in the absence of data that may be, your guide to make a decision is not there is definitely something that you will do is something wrong or does not fit the existing path (origin only do). Because with the existence of this then we you get a very valuable experience to something that is in it, only that it takes time so if you keep trying it is definitely your profit quickly obtained.

If you want to start trading try to read the official article updates a coin widely available diweb or other social media. A little story about trig coins I read an article that the coin was going to burn on the 15th and a few weeks ago I bought it cheaply and yesterday I sold it at a price that can be spelled out fantastic and get many profit. But not everything is true depending on the market conditions are adequate. The most important thing is to try to learn the coin analysis you want to trade sir.
Maybe it's a little science that I give may be useful for everyone

21. I also advice that when you already developed a good trading strategy, you stick into it and keep your discipline  (thx to bamboylee for this tip)

I think this strategy should be wisely built based on the above tips (reading and watching the reliable sources mostly), including all ups and downs.
I would take into account the fact that with time Altcoins lose their value so their choice should be reasoned whether they could be held for short or long period of time in order not to lose the profit gained already.

The top reminder for beginners before investing in any coin is to first read not just about the coin but the project itself to which the coin belongs. There is really a need to monitor the movement of the project not just the coin's price or value. The project will, after all, be the one that will determine the value of the coin because it is where investors base their decisions.

I believe the most important thing to have in mind is controlling emotions, don't be attached to a coin, don't panic, don't be euphoric, these are the times we make the biggest mistakes.

You wrote so correct.Take risk dont gamble.Be patient and decide wisely. My father always told me''We need 3 things to be success,WORK WORK WORK''

Your dad is right.work and above all be determined and focus .We should always make sure not to invest what we cannot afford to lose, and more importantly diversification is a good option

Bittrex is one of the best exchanges, the best is kraken though. And of course they need to verify your identity, it goes like that for all exchanges. If you wanna be hidden, trade privately.

Thanks for the tips! What i wanted to add is , you need to be patient all the time. There is no room for panicking if
you wanna get the max out of your trades. Panic is your worst enemy . You need to understand how pump and dump works so you don't do any panic sell or rush to buy .

You are welcome!

I agree, panic is the worst decision maker!
i think panic is the most difficult thing to remove, i'm sure almost most users ever feel the panic, let alone the case a few days ago when china was close the exchange in their country, the price go down very deep and i'm sure many users try to hold back and be patient so not to panic, but of course the worsening conditions make you panic right ? lol thats why panic is very difficult to remove when you do trade

Trading altcoins is an easy task because you just need to create an account in a trading site then you can deposit your bitcoin and you can start trading and it is easy to make money in trading altcoin because all of them are going up and down and up and that is why even you are a newbie, you can still make big profits in your first experiences.

1. Regularly read Bitcointalk forum
2. Check coinmarketcap.com for current real coin values
3. Check coinmarketcap.com history of coin you are interested in
4. Check the ANN thread of the coin on Bitcointalk
5. Many coins have their own blogs/ forums you need to follow to be up to date

Trading is a game of patience  those who does not have patience in trading they will end up in loss this is the most important tip I am telling you. Always check the real market price from coinmarketcap .com. Always trade with genuine exchanges. Do not trade when you see coin price is rising aggressively do not touch that coin because that can be a fake movement & always trade top 20 coins that would be less risky for you and be active on bitcointalkforum.

What are the features of ICO scams?

Well spotting possible scam is hard. There are many icos that are scam, yet most of the time the "real" scam gets reviled after the ico is over ...

I would personally watch out for projects that are anonymous or projects that are made by "one" individual. Also having a basic understanding of technologies is required to spot scam. There are many alt coins that do not have any value at all Example (not real): Hairdresser Coin or things like that... I think you need to have common sense to see if something even requires a own currency or not...

If a "real" registered company stands behind the project I personally feel more save, because at least they reviled their identity, yet its not a guarantee.

This is actually a thing most of us forget or ignore, but taking out profit is mandatory. I know myself if a coin is running good I tend to keep the profit and re-invest instead to take it out in the past. Now I follow my hard rule and take out profit no mater the opportunity that might wait to re-invest.

IMO, the rest doesn't matter. The most important thing is not chart analysis or even trying to anticipate a pump in the coin. Invest in what you believe in. Also, invest in an active dev team that has great ideas and is constantly updating their code.

Buy into an altcoin only if you're ready to hold it for 6+ months. Don't buy if you're only in it for the short term as you'll probably lose out on a lot of profits if the price does go up. Patience is key with the altcoin markets.

Number 10: you cannot recommend bittrex anymore, which website can you recommend now?

Well the problem with Bittrex is that you need to identify yourself in order to make bigger withdraws than 0.25 BTC (what is a quite small amount). I personally do not want to identify myself with ID (except to executives or governmental organisations). And I do have a problem how Bittrex is not pointing out to this rule when opening an account. OTher Bittrex is a trusted and well organized trading portal.

Im trading on 3 other sites, but at this point I do not want to make any recommendation. Here are some well known trading portals, but you will make your own research about them and decide if you will chose the one or other:

- Poloniex
- Bitsquare
- Shapeshift
- Yobit

You can only guess a drop if some project problems coming up and road-map time line is overdue... read the developer and ANN forums, blogs to get clues.... Yet there are whales pumping and dumping where you will never know when its happening...

First of all thank you for the advice :D I fully agree with you, the advice you give seems to be very full, it is good for beginners trade, it is even useful to those who have long trade. Regularly reading news about the cryptocurrency market on sites such as coindesk, cryptocoinsnews is a must for traders, and that information along with the knowledge of the forum will be of great help to everyone during trade. And one more thing I am quite interested in is that we pahri keep the cold head. Do not panic in any situation, things need to calm down to be resolved

to remove the  panic = buy the dip and u will never panic
to remove the fear = invest what u can affort to loose
to echap to the greed = my strategy is to devise my trading for 1 coin to 2 part , for exemple i bought BAT with 0.02 bitcoin when the price rise i sell 0.01 and i keep 0.01 for long term because i think is a good project ; if price goes down i will re buy with the 0.01 more BAT if the price go higher i have always 0.01
when u invest in a coin make amount to a long term and amount to short term trading
sorry for my bad english and good luck

Thanks for the tips you gave. very clear and helpful. because usually the early trader will panic when they face a certain situation. such as when they buy a coin at a certain price and then the coin is experiencing a decline in prices so deep and usually an early trader will panic maybe not just an early trader but many traders will also panic lol. maybe just a suggestion when prices continue to down maybe cutlosse will help ? what do you think ?

Did you read the coin ANN and dev blog or project website? Maybe some clues there while they dump atm? Anyway now you can only wait, if you sell now you will make minus... That is the moment when your research, education and knowledge of the project should help you to make the right decision!

This is a good tips for those who are new in trading Alternative coins. But I notice that you do not prefer Bittrex because of the verification of identity. But I guess this policy of Bittrex is conflict to the features of coins, which is "privacy".

This is a good tips for those who are new in trading Alternative coins. But I notice that you do not prefer Bittrex because of the verification of identity. But I guess this policy of Bittrex is conflict to the features of coins, which is "privacy".

Well Bittrex is US based and I will not give any ID to a US based company, why would I?

One of the most beneficial topic to read. Thanks for mentioning the Bittrex, I want to trade on that platform for some coins but since withdrawal is not hat easy I will keep my distance from it for now.  I will instead open a Poloniex account.

you can withdraw 0.025 BTC per day without identifying yourself on Bittrex... but that is really not much for serious traders...

Oh Thanks for this, I laready talked to someone who trades not on coins but on stock ( Stock trading) and we talked about the techniques he is currently using and that is what he called benchmarking, Buy Low Sell High, it needed time and effort, monitoring the changes in price is really needed.
In this technique you should have a percentage of profit rate example here is 50%
For example you bought Stock A @ 1.00 and the price got higher Stock A became @ 1.50 , Sell your stocks, if the price got lower you should buy again at @1.00 or lower than that or lower than 1.50 and sell it higher than 1.50 and so on.
He told me that this is really hard to do but if you will practice it and apply it to cryptocurrency i might have a bigger chance of gaining 100%++ of profit.

Nice tips. I'm just beginning to study this trading. Unfortunately, tips #8 I just did that and now the coins dump and dump everyday.
And now waiting to get that coins pump again, don't know when it will. Grrh!

I handle it like this:  Own budget for dumb and pump coins and own profit split. So lets call it gamble budget...

Dont even have to research coins if your only day trading. Just gotta look at the charts.

Yes, well, that keeps the risk of panic in regards of dump and pump! And you will need to watch out for whales as well!

You're right. If you do not begin to plunge into deep water.
First look at some mechanisms from experienced bitcoins, ask, learn.
If you have any question then this forum is the perfect source of information.

Nice tip and to add to what you have said I think to succeed in trading one needs to develop his skills to buy low and sell high and candlesticks formation. We are living at the age when information is almost free online and one needs to read several times and materials before venturing into altcoins trading.

Thank you for your post!

Yes, buy low / sell high is the trading basic. Inform yourself and chose your long term investment coins wisely. You need to really educate yourself about the projects. Many traders buy low and sell high on daily base, what can possible generate daily profit but keeps risk as so many whales around and you never know when the dump or pump starts or ends! Anyways I personally do not join dump and pump periods, as I lost enough money in past during the high risk and the greed that is taking part of you. I believe mid and long term investments is the best for beginners!

2 things not to do are - 1- Please stay away from the shills at twitter. Almost 95% of the so called OG's are there to dump their own bags on you. 2. Do not join any of the paid groups. Most of the information that is required to be successful in crypto is available for free, please do not pay half or even 1 btc to do that.

Go on Bittrex help and search for withdraw limits... I find it very poor communicated form Bittrex about their withdraw limits... That´s why I do not recommend them anymore... Yet they have a good UI and high trust...

As i am a newbie will advice or share my experience that you should avoid dumping of coins and do not join paid groups. Do not instantly sell your coins that will lead you to get some loss if you are doing this without any expert advice. You should first take a proper advice from experienced one and they you can go furture; This will help you to gain profit in future.

Yes well, but who are the experts you can really trust? I still believe you need to do the job yourself, relying on other people opinion contains risk. You need to educate yourself and research and yes of course you can ask "experts" about how the mechanics in trading are functioning, but do not ask, in which coin to invest...IMHO

How to trade? Just get right into to! Your experience will be more valuable than any technical analysis in the long run. That is not to say that you should not learn technicalities of trade!  If the fundamentals of any coin is good, you csn short ir long! Just trade. Cavert! Trade with what you can afford to lose!

Maybe I'll be a bit clarified as to why to pick a coin from a top 50 coin to buy (maybe top 20 coins better) you can buy altcoin that has a huge marketcap at least top 20 coin in big exchange like bittrex, poloniex. etc when you buy a coin that has a large market cap then your orderm will quickly filled and will certainly speed up your profits as well #imo

Top 20 is already hard to mange for newbies. I would suggest  3- 5 coins max for first 1 - 2 month. What you think? If you new to trading it will be hard to mange 20 or 50 coins...

To start trading alt coins
1. START SMALL ! I can’t stress this enough. I don’t care how confident you are or how much research you’ve done
2. Read and read a lot. Learn the difference between fundamental trading and technical trading. Learn about scalping and momentum trading. Learn the difference between day trading and swing trading.
3. Have an investment strategy.
4. Find an exchange your comfortable with
5. Watch your attitude and keep your head
6. Don’t trade when your high, drunk or overly tired

Bittex is trusted trading portal I just dislike their withdrawals policy... 0.025 BTC per day is way too low... other I will not send my ID to a US based company to get higher withdraw limit

Great post for us beginners.. :D Additionally, I think we should also take into account that an ICO today, could be an alt-coin in no time. So look for ICO's that have dedicated and responsive dev teams.
Nobody can predict how the regulation ecosystem would evolve so always keep a significant part of your investment in the most established ones.. 8) BTC, ETH, LTC in that order I suppose..

Beginners trap mate, you think by providing some uneducated tips you are gaining newbies trust to invest in your ICO? I have a few tips of my own to give

Stop believing that every ICO has potential to earn profit for you, from 1000 ICOs only 1 is legit. rest of them are nothing but scams, when someone posts a

Thread to announce their project, first thing to make sure is to check if you can click on their team members social accounts, if you only see a picture then

You know they're giving fake information. if you are trying to become a successful trader then start by investing on Btc-Eth-Ltc.

You know they're giving fake information. if you are trying to become a successful trader then start by investing on Btc-Eth-Ltc.

... well 1 under 10.000 must be like that!

Some people need love and acceptance more than they need advise!

Thank you for spreading FUD! One day you will be loved too!

P.s.: If you would invest some of your valuable time you would easily find out that there are no fake persons involved in our project. You make accusations with 0 proof just of the sake of FUD.

There are some rules for altccoin trading which are given below.
1 Make a habit to read the bitcoin talk thread daily.
2 Always buy top 50 coin for trade.
3 Book always small profit for making big portfolio.
4 Signup on bittrex and poloniex for altcoin trading.
5 In starting, only see the trend and undr stand them. it will teach you where have to buy and sell.

Thx for your input and view!

He didnt mention that you would need to trade up 20 coins. As he said you would choose those coins in the ranking on top 20 which is also a good suggestion. Trading on how many coins depending on how much money you can allocate on each coin but as a complete newbie better to trade off 1-2 would be sufficient specially if you are a active kind of trader.

Oh sorry my bad! Yes choosing from top 20 coins could be seen as proper advise for beginner. Yet they need to research about every single coin they would chose from those top 20.

Thanks for pointing that out!

Let's try to prepare all the worst situation can happen.
Honestly, in the past I was a loser on the market, but after all, I checked my strategy and honestly control my emotion really hard.
It not easy as the theory, because when you see others panic on the market, you will think: "OMG, I need to sell all my coin before its value dumped to the hell!", but if the price of this coin can not dump to the price as your hope, you will feel regret and buy back, a loop losses continue ;D

The ruling out of the number 10 anyway. As much as it may not be a good option for bittrex to impose the identity verification thingy on someone before withdrawal since that was not even in the question in the first place before depositing, I still don’t see how it makes them not recommended.

Most exchanges are like this and it still depends on the amount you want to withdraw from bittrex that makes them require the verification.

I  think that Bittrex does not communicate the withdraw limits proper... there are tons of accounts that get shocked once they start there first withdraw... In my opinion those limitations needs to be much more clearly communicated by account creation... but again IMHO

That's a very informative statement surely some of us investors can actually learn a lot from it, and maybe in the near future, trade wisely.

However, I still think that bittrex is the best exchange for beginners in the sense that it is user friendly and you can easily buy or sell coins. One more important point that I feel like you forgot to mention, buy low and sell high, this might help you if you are willing to make quick profit.

The truth remains that the altcoin market is unpredictable and sometimes we might just not get lucky even after the analysis. It is left for us to just quickly know when to get out if need to be.

One out of court tips would be, just sticking with only well established coins or only with bitcoin will safe guard any investor/trader.

The concept of "covering" a trade is important. If for example you are in on a coin during the pump and have huge profits on a lot of tokens, if you still like the coin *nothing* is saying not to stay in the trade BUT, if you sell coins to equal the initial cost of those tokens, you are now riding that coin for free, even if it goes to zero you will have no losses. If you think you see a solid entry point later on - feel free to enter the trade. Every trade occurs in a vaccuum, do not chase losses or FOMO into pumps on trades you are already in UNLESS the follow-on action was already a part of your strategy.

Glad you got some inspiration! You cannot fully relay on friends ( not telling that your friends are bad, tho). It is jut they also don´t know what will happen... you should make always your own research and then after you gained knowledge you may discuss it with your friends!

There are very usefull and correct points!
It is quite important to don't rush and think about every step and decisions.
Does not matter to being beginner or experienced, everyone is able to lose sometimes but this mistakes help to take more correct steps.
to start trading should really learn first,
otherwise you can fail profit

Yes, this is a great post  ;)

When I started trading crypto it took a time to discover those points. Specially keep this one in mind:

12. At the beginning its better to aim for small profits like 5% - 10% +

Being greedy usually means losing your opportunity to make any profit at all, and maybe also losing more value than you bought.
But well done, and little by little, investing in crypto could be a good way to make some good money :)

start off by buying some ark now, still very low marketcap. ark should be a top 5 or top 2 soon, well, after bitcoin of course. just ignore other scam craps with so much hypes.
However, I still think that bittrex is the best exchange for beginners in the sense that it is user friendly and you can easily buy or sell coins. One more important point that I feel like you forgot to mention, buy low and sell high, this might help you if you are willing to make quick profit. :)

Also, try to avoid Slack as it's full of scammers trying to phish for your wallet info.

I don't trade much but I do a few trades every day and am trading only coins that I really like and want to baghold in case the price drops and I need to hold for a long time. I also only trade a small portion in case there is a big price rise and I get priced out, so i avoid trading all my bag. Now I have two types of trading, one is to focus to accumulate a coin I like, the other would be to focus on accumulating btc or eth. I need to work on more strategies to achieve success though.

In my opinion  Beginer tips for start to trading altcoin
If you want to start trading try to read the official article updates a coin widely available diweb or other social media. A little story about trig coins I read an article that the coin was going to burn on the 15th and a few weeks ago I bought it cheaply and yesterday I sold it at a price that can be spelled out fantastic and get many profit. The most important thing is to try to learn the coin analysis you want to trade sir.  Maybe it's a little science that I give may be useful for everyone..

Also choose a trading platform which has a good reputation in the cryptoworld.
There is no point to spend hours in trading if in the end, you get stuck when you want to withdraw your coins.
A few month ago, it took me 27 days to withdraw some btc's from a trading platform!

Of course, study first. Learn how to do it how to get here. What to do when buying. And much more. Because this is a serious matter because the money involved here. It is better to practice trading first so you will know if you can increase the capital to give you.

Biggest thing is keeping a reserve of BTC available to buy things....Alts usually dip during BTC Rises so when you buy the BTC at a high you don't really save. I always make this mistake.

Bittrex is definitely one of the best exchange out there. However, recently it has been suspending accounts without giving any explanation and the irritating wallet maintenance. However, it has the greatest volume/trade and that is the most important to trading. Right now, bittrex still have the highest customer base but a lot of exchanges are catching up.

All tips and inputs are well shared to people who want to start trading alt coins. Indeed I can really agree that choosing where to invest alt coins as well needs a lot of research and readings from the internet, blogs and forums to know more about it before trading. Make sure that you join a well established alt coins and has been believed by many. Make sure to not join scam alt coins as well as many opportunist are around.

We really do the right strategy. for a beginner then do the analysis and looking for various information about altcoin is a must. find out how the coin will be distributed and what are the targets to be achieved. it will determine how the final result will be obtained. someone who has a strong desire I think can be a trader. A trader is someone who often performs an analysis to know the results / how a coin moves in the future. Because for a trader it will determine the results to be achieved later.

Planning to convert BTC to altcoins for the first time. Have been hearing good things about Changelly and Shapeshift. Which one do you guys prefer?

If i were to send BTC to changelly/shapeshift, but i set my transaction fee very low, maybe after 1 or 2 hours only get 1 confirmation, is it accepted by changelly or shapeshift? Or 0 confirmation is enough for them?

First of all you need to chose a good trusted exchanger platform that has no negative reputation. Bittrex, cryptopia and liqui are some of them.you can start trading with small amount of bitcoin. its not problem.first try to trade with small amount then slowly try to add more money.good luck.
That is important. I also think it is a good habbit to check the coinmarketcap.com to see trading volumes. And also keep updates with the dev team's blog or twitter.

"Never be emotional" - good advice, but as for me not possible  ;)

I think a newbie one should learn and learn, read every news about market, coins etc and try trading. Mistakes are inevitable, but these are our experience and that's ok. This is a long but really interesting way to make money!

Another great tips is to not get greedy

Set your target before buying and stick to it

I agree to this. When i started my friend told me to make sure to set a target. Target profit that will make you say you're ok with the gains minus the fees. If you don't know your target you might get lost in the game of trading

An user has given a stepped process for the altcoins trading. That's quite a good way to make ourselves into trading, in my opinion it's good to invest into few altcoins going through its market. Second thing I don't think such a long time gap is must, it's good to invest a small amount and continue trading. The small experience will let the user understand it in a better way than just learning or researching the market.

Interesting note: Even with an average winrate of >50% on decisions for short term trading - a 30% drawdown is still going to occur if your average bet size is two percent of your trading capital.

we must first have accounts in some exchange such as bittrex, poloniex, yobit. and many more we can choose . then we must understand the origins of altcoin that we will be trading. then prepare the capital and mental for us trading later because there will be many things that will make our heart beat fast.. after we decide what altcoin we will use then look at coinmarketcup, if it already exists means that coin already exists on some exchange. that's all my opinion. thank's

Have too many accounts is never been helping because its need too much money to invest if you want to learn then start from very small and try to have new coins because these can give you good profit as you have experience then you can take some risk in good coins because starting with many accounts and many coins hurt you badly

Your advice #19 to control your emotions when the prices is going up or down and advice #20 to never be emotional in your trading aren't they the same one? On the other hand, in the most of cases emotions are our enemies, they never let us make right decision and it doesn't depend what kind of work you do, trading or something else, emotions will never be on your side...

Actually I do not pretend to seem contemptuous, but after several years as a trader in different markets I have learned that the best thing that a newbie interested in engaging in this exciting business in a serious and professional way can do is dedicate enough time to an adequate preparation of:

a) how markets work,
b) what trading is and how it is carried out,
c) and an extensive research and approach to cryptocurrencies,

since this market has proven to be very different from traditional markets and it is necessary to immerse yourself well in this world to understand its operation and the peculiar way in which this market seems to be more sensitive to the rumor mill than to the technical and fundamental aspects of the ordinary markets.

No one can accurately predict the market, but predictions and speculations are what trading is all about. And it is often linked to gambling.
But in trading you have tools, technical and foundamental analysis with which to speculate on the direction of the market. Always start small, regardless the amount available at your disposal. And a small capital allows you to trade with little pressure and as such you can comfortably grow your skill.

You have a lot of good advice.
A lot of it is focused on keeping contol of emotions and not trading based off of panic or fomo.
The thing is, us humans are pretty emotional creatures.
We often act according to how we feel instead of what we know is right.

But there are practical things you can do.
The most effective thing to do is to set up simple goals.
Start with the biggest of them all: how much do you want to make out of investing?
Then move to how long you would like to do it.
Break that down into quarterly goals and you have a pretty good guidance system to base your trades on.
