Post by: Innovative Solutions on September 08, 2017, 08:53:46 AM

BetterHash - Easy mining GUI application for Windows

Easy mining application for Windows. Supports Monero (XMR), Ethereum (ETH) and ZCash (ZEC). Consolidation of earnings to Bitcoin (BTC) is possible.

The software is designed for less experienced users, aiming to provide them with the basic tools to mine the most popular cryptocurrencies. CPU and GPU miners are supported. More miners will be added as this project develops. No wallet installation needed since BetterHash automatically creates an online wallet for each mined currency. Installation is as easy as possible: BetterHash warns users when antivirus software quarantines or removes files.

Our goal is to support everyone who is new to the cryptocurrency area, leading to a faster adoption of digital currency. User education on cryptocurrency will also be offered during application installation and future newsletters.

BetterHash version 1.13 has been released. The application's main interface has been simplified even more. We are now creating all wallets on our server, without the need to install any local third-party application. We'll keep on adding more miners. I download this at my work place to test and the interface looks beautiful. I am testing a Core i7 with CryptoNight , Monero but I would suggest if you want better user base and more people using it to add at least BCN, a coin which is doing pretty well as of lately and can be mined with people using their work PC. For beginners this looks very easy to use and the Benchmark here compared to Nicehash took less time. Great app for beginners. You need to add the bitcoin address of a user so you be exact like Nicehash, after you do this, your success will be inevitable with this app.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, I really appreciate it! We'll clearly take a look at BCN. If you have a specific miner in mind please let me know and we'll run some tests on Monday morning.

As for having a Bitcoin account - we planned the following:

  • Each miner collects the rewards in it's own currency. There are many situations when a user might want to transfer the entire amount to an exchange, rather than having it automatically converted to BTC.
  • If the user decides to automatically change everything to Bitcoin - we are offering this alternative as well. We'll work with ShapeShift and consolidate all income to users' BTC accounts.
  • As an additional feature we created a BTC wallet too, maybe some users don't know or don't want to install an external wallet.

Anyway - there's a long way ahead of us - this is just the beginning.

Daniel

BetterHash version 1.16 has been released today. Improvements:

  • Payments will be accounted and distributed to users much faster
  • Users with less performant PCs will be able to receive payments as well (as opposed to mining pools where they's have to wait for a minimum revenue)

...and please remember that we are open to suggestions: adding new miners, mining other currencies and interface improvements. 8)

BetterHash version 1.18 has been released today. Improvements:

  • Solved a EWBF issue (not all video cards were used when mining with EWBF)
  • Added Spanish language support
  • Added Dutch language support

...and please remember that we are always open to suggestions: adding new miners, mining other currencies and interface improvements.

Hi,

Important updates! With the release of version 1.22 we started securing the accounts! 8)

You can use BetterHash without an associated account for as long as you'd like. While doing this, funds will accumulate in your account but you will be unable to transfer them to your own wallet.

In order to transfer your earnings, you need to secure your account (choose an email and a password). Securing your account is also needed when you install BetterHash on several PCs and want to consolidate your earnings to the same account.

Note to users that already mined on several PCs - you simply need to create an account then set it up in all your BetterHash desktop applications.

Download the latest release now from https://www.betterhash.net/

Good news: we finished securing the accounts and payments will start on Wednesday.

With the release of version 1.25 we also corrected a CPU mining issue and we increased by 60% the revenue for some of the high-end CPUs.

Download the latest release now from https://www.betterhash.net/

German language available as well! :)

Download the latest release now from https://www.betterhash.net/

The online wallet is now fully functional. All payment pages (XMR, ETH and ZEC) are now active. Next week we'll continue working on improving the  mining algorithms.

Hi!

Two weeks ago we released BetterHash (https://www.betterhash.net) - a mining application for Windows. Since the initial public release there were a lot of updates and improvements. Thanks again for all the feedback and for testing the app - you helped us correct some important bugs. I’ll mention only a few of the bugs and improvements:

  • Earnings were incorrectly allocated to some users. Pools usually send the revenue with a low transaction fee and this can lead to a more than 12 hours delay (especially on Monero!). Mining during these 12 hours leads to funds being incorrectly distributed (some users received more, some less than expected). It was quite hard to catch this logics error but it’s solved now.
  • Transfers to other wallets are now fully functional. We kept fees to a minimum and for the currencies that don’t have an estimated fee specified before the transfer we keep a higher default fee and credit you the difference when the transaction is confirmed and know the exact value. We do not keep any transfer fee, you only pay the network fee. The credited amount can be seen in the Transaction History.
  • We now show the pending amounts in real time. Many of you expected this feature and we didn’t realize how important it was when we developed BetterHash.
  • Multiple mining PCs can be connected to the same online account and all earnings will be consolidated in one place.
  • We kept the possibility of mining without creating an account. But you do need to create a BetterHash account when you want to transfer your funds or when you're mining on multiple PCs (in order to view your funds in one place).
  • The EWBF miner was downgraded to an older version in order to increase the hashing rate.
  • “Forced benchmark” for all miners has been added; maybe we didn’t detect a compatible GPU that you can really use?
  • We added Dutch, German, Russian and Spanish translations. Italian translation is in progress.

There are still many improvements on the way (email notifications, a ticketing support system for better tech support, new mining algorithms, hashing rate monitoring charts, etc).

You can download the latest release now from https://www.betterhash.net/

Good news!

1. Starting with October 26th miners will be evaluated and paid according to the number of shares accepted by the pool. The older evaluation method (based on the hashing speed) was inaccurate, especially for slower miners.

2. Active miners are now displayed alongside their PC name for easier identification.

You can download the latest release now from https://www.betterhash.net/

Today's update:

1. Added a scheduler to the Settings page.

2. Added the option to run in hidden mode (no system tray icon visible).

3. Added the option to disable auto-login to the online interface (useful when running BetterHash from a public PC).

You can download the latest release now from https://www.betterhash.net/ (https://www.betterhash.net/)

Hi! Nobody answered because we're a software company and Sunday everyone's at home, resting. ;)

Betterhash is different than NiceHash. Instead of automatically changing the mined currency to Bitcoin we are creating on our server separate wallets for each currency. You can transfer your XMR to an external XMR wallet at any time you like, and exchange it to BTC at a rate that YOU choose, at a moment that you control. We'll add soon an option to automatically exchange to Bitcoin.

Meanwhile we added two more pages that might answer some of our users' questions.

What are our fees:

FAQ:

Thanks! For now only one of the miners distributed with BetterHash can mine ETH: Claymore Dual. And this one is working on both NVidia and AMD (ATI) video adapters.

Latest updates below:

1. Added a Notifications section to the online Control Panel. It will allow you to get an email alert in case your miner goes silent.

2. Added two graphs that allow you to monitor your mining speed and share rate for each mining algorithm.

3. Upgraded two of the miners through the auto-update function - which is now working perfectly.

4. Payments are now even faster than before.

5. We added support tickets to the website in order to be able to faster answer all incoming questions.

6. Increased by at least 20% the revenue generated by Cryptonight (CPU mining).

7. Added the option NOT to keep the application linked to the online account (in case you run BetterHash on a PC that other people can access too).

Hi,

We are working on this. For now we only implemented separate wallets for each mined coin. We hope to be able to finish the development of the BTC conversion by the end of this month. As soon as this step is done we'll also be offering transfers to USD to European Union residents.

Kind regards,

Daniel

Nice app and service but please add the option to stop the Betterhash application from overwriting and removing core miner config files; I find this to be very aggravating by passing it. Auto generate if file does not exist options would be better. Main reason I have a AMD Athlon FX 8350 black edition it is a 8 core CPU; the benchmark and running the CPU miner only uses 1 core I have to manually bypass this in the config and then use other means to utilize the other cores for CPU mining. Being able to optimize mining via configuration tweaks is highly desirable.

Just started using Better hash. Nice program overall.

Having an issue with Zcash mining on Nvidia. About after 30 minutes of mining the miner prompt window says the cards have stopped. If I stop and restart the program everything works fine until it stops again.

Any idea?

Not using this program at this time but I do see some cool features, one specifically is how you can setup a mining window and exclude days/times from mining. Only want your rig to mine overnight and on the weekends? It would appear this allows for that.

This looks like a promising alternative to Nicehash for those interested but as of this time I don't have a machine available to test this on and all I see is noob accounts talking about how great it is so I'm going to wait it out and see what comes of it before I take the time to test.

Betterhash UI works ok but needs some work; as for the Betterhash-Preload remove it it or fix  BH is not on startup via settings but it does load on windows startup until you remove preload entry.

The Betterhash core CPU miner powercore-main.exe seems to be nothing more than their own built distribution of xmr_stak_cpu miner there are many out there. This version rewrites the config file for miners on start; which is pcore.ini. To circumvent this  just find and use a different version of xmr_stak_cpu or build your own from source just make sure it does not use the pcore.ini file as a config because Betterhash.exe replaces it when you press start. Then rename original powercore-main.exe to something else and place xmr-stak-cpu.exe in same directory and rename to powercore-main.exe. When you use this method you will have to manually configure the new cpu miner via config.txt usually.

I've sent a ticket, and their ticketing system uses innovative solutions website:

http://www.innovative-sol.com/myticket/

I asked them to include more miners for AMD, because I found that only claymore-dual works with them for AMD. There is no option to mine ZEC or XMR using the GUI.
Also, config.txt files for miners are overwritten in every miner start, so it is not possible to change parameters like fan, target temps, clocks or voltages from the miner.
So I also asked them to give us the server, user and password required to use our own miners to solve those issues

Hello again!

I just noticed a lot of messages that piled up here! We made a lot of changes and we were "under siege" by the increasing number of users. This means a lot of messages we have to answer and, most of the time, answering messages means pausing the development. The entire team needed to focus more than 12 hours per day in adding the most important feature of all: BTC withdrawals. It's almost finished and, during testing, about 10 people made successful withdrawals.

Since BetterHash is a software was designed to be as easy to use as possible - a lot of beginner miners :) adopted it and we had a *huge* number of questions to answer. This slowed us down, unfortunately. This is why we added a ticketing system in order to better answer all questions.

I can confirm that we need to improve mining on mixed rigs: when you have a combination of NVidia and ATI it won't work at 100% capacity. We'll improve this in January.

The development of BetterHash, especially the online part, was more difficult than we initially expected; we now have a roadmap (it will be published today on https://www.betterhash.net/ (https://www.betterhash.net/)) and we'll stick to it!

A big "thank you" for everyone that supported and trusted us!

Kindest regards,

Daniel STATESCU

UPDATE: We now have the lowest BTC withdrawal fee out there!

As promised a few days ago, we found a solution and we have lowered the BTC withdrawal fee. The current fee is set to 0.0003 BTC, and it is the lowest one on the market. We have also lowered the minimum withdrawal amount to 0.001 BTC. Keep in mind that you can also withdraw the mined currency directly (without exchanging it to BTC) by paying the network fee only. Spread the news, because sharing is caring! Happy mining :)

Hi,

This is something that might happen because of the CPU. Can you retry with the CPU mining disabled disabled? I believe EWBF will work ok if you use GPU ming only.

Thanks  :) Daniel i disable all cpu's and EWBF is working fine now

Thanks a lot for letting me know. It never happened during our testing - however I read some reports that some mining algorithms need the CPU to be "free from mining". EWBF seems to be one of them.

Hi Innovative Solutions what am seeing now is that i am receiving every few hours email about reported speed dropped to zero notification

Edit : about cpu mining when it comes to my amd cpu works well when mining using cpu and EWBF the problem looks to be with the intel cpu could be also that the intel's are dual core and the amd are 8 core

Has your speed really dropped to zero?

just check now i have the EWBF mining window open and betterhash on the EWBF mining window everything looks to be running well i did noticing that the daily income and monthly income on the betterhash seems to be freezing up from time to time don't know if this is what causes betterhash to send out the notification about speed dropped

Please drop me a private message with your login email. I will take a look.

I checked and you have ~9 PCs in your account. All of them have active notifications and, you're right - you recently received some notifications because some of the 9 PCs are not working anymore. If you want to stop receiving notifications for a specific PC, deactivate them. You can do this from the email you receive or from your online account - in Notifications.

Kind regards,

Daniel

Great. If you will deactivate that one - you won't receive the notification emails. They are set to be set once every 6 hours, starting with the moment your 2-hours average drops to zero.

There'll be a lot of changes in the January version. Now that we solved the Bitcoin withdrawal fee (lowered to only 0.0003 BTC) we need to focus on users having mixed AMD-NVIDIA rigs. ;)

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows
Post by: Old_School on December 29, 2017, 01:46:13 PM
support for mixed AMD-NVIDIA card rigs would be awesome :) also don't know if you guys have this planed would be nice to see a total daily and monthly income of all rigs combined

@ Innovative Solutions do you guys manually credit accounts ? the unpaid shares or is it done automatic

Everything is fully automated. As soon as the pool your shares to us - we add them to your account as unconfirmed. When we receive the payment from the pool we move the unconfirmed shares to confirmed.

Dear BetterHash team!

Can you answer me? Is your application fully SCAM or NOT?

1. Today is lost about 60$ from my account. Where is my earned money? Can you answer?
I did not any withdrawals/transfers and Transaction history also empty! My Account username is: asror.zk@gmail.com

2. Confirmed balance indicator works very unstable also in my second BetterHash Account: nvidiausercom@gmail.com

3. BTC Transfer functionality NOT WORKS as needed! Every time when I want withdraw NOT SCAMMED part of earned money - your BTC Transfer page says: "IMPORTANT: Withdrawals to BTC have been paused for maintenance. They'll be back in a few hours!". And so forth...

4. If I log in with my asror.zk@gmail.com account, which SCAMMED by YOU, your BTC Transfer page says: "Insufficient funds" ::::(

-----------------------------------------------------------

DEAR BetterHash Team!

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?

Hi Asrorz,

I will try answering your questions one by one. No, the app is not some sort of scam, I simply cannot understand how you could encounter so many issues.

1. I cannot answer such a general statement "I lost 60$ from my account - where is it". I don't know your previous balance, I don't understand what you mean by "I lost"; you didn't give me too many details. For the first account that you mentioned you had several withdrawals. All of them are confirmed in the blockchain.

2. For the second account I cannot understand what you mean by "unstable balance". You have a confirmed balance and a pending balance. The confirmed one will NEVER change while the pending balance usually increases. The pending balance is calculated based on data that we receive from the pool: estimated next payment and confirmed shares. If these fluctuate (not too much though!) then the pending balance might fluctuate too. While looking at this second account I noticed a "locked balance" - something that appears when a wallet did not not respond; this has been solved a few minutes ago.

3. The BTC transfer works ok, as you successfully withdrew from the first account. Yes, during the very first days after launch we had to temporary disable it 3-4 times in order to solve some scalability issues and also work on combining multiple transfers into one in order to lower the fees to 0.0003 BTC. Anyway - this took only a few pauses and during all this time - withdrawals in all other coins worked 100%.

4. No account was scammed, if you withdrew funds - it's normal to get a message that says "insufficient funds". Simply change your password. If you somehow left the application running on a machine (at work perhaps) and someone logged it from the application - maybe this happened. Or you were the one withdrawing the funds. If an IP address can help - I can take the server logs and offer any assistance that might help you track down what happened. More than this you can uncheck "keep me logged in" in the app if you use BetterHash on a public PC.

Contacting us by using the ticketing system in our app and on our website can solve these issues very fast. We answer all messages that we receive: communication with our users helped us develop and improve BetterHash.

We only notified part of the users. :) We want to make sure everything is ok. :) If you have any mixed NVIDIA / AMD rigs and you go through the benchmark again - I am really curious if it detects all GPUs correctly.

i had one of my rigs with mix cards nvidia and amd but i have upgrade to just nvidia cards all my rigs are running now nvidia cards if not i would of check for you

Edit : i notice now with the update you can run more than one gpu miner but if you try to run cpu miner with two gpu miner one of the gpu miner gets stuck on starting like claymore miner if you run one gpu miner EWBF and cpu miner work fine

On a GPU rig I wouldn't advise using the CPU (unless it's a very powerful one). If the CPU is not mining - everything looks ok?

am just testing out now the new version on two asus 1070 6 card rig the other thing i notice is on one of the rigs after benchmark it pick for all gpus EWBF miner as being the most profitable which was giving me a lost of $70 plus a month and on the other rig which is same setup after benchmark it pick for one gpu claymore miner and for the rest of the 5 gpus EWBF as being most profitable which give me a gain of $70 plus a month looks like the benchmark is not making the most profitable choose when picking the miners

The benchmark is done by running each miner for 60 or 90 seconds. It's only a estimation. You can change assign different miners to your GPUs, the ones that YOU decide to be the most profitable. Please keep me informed on what works better for you.

Other than this - are all GPUs detected correctly?

Thanks Innovative Solutions :) i didn't see before that there is a down drop down menu now to choose different miners on each gpu cards nice option about the gpus it looks like it detected all my gpus when i benchmark also detected all my intel and amd cpus when it comes to the miner that works best for me looks like its EWBF miner up to now make me the most profit

I'm very glad to hear this! I believe that running the benchmark for more that 60 seconds (90 for EWBF that initializes a bit slower) is too much for many usesrs. A longer benchmark would be way more accurate - however many users will be annoyed by it! :(

if possible you guys can add in the future benchmark option for the users to pick from like quick, normal and precise like that the user has the option to run a fast benchmark or a more longer benchmark but a more accurate benchmark

Great software!

Since I was planning to use my machine while mining I didn't want to use 100% of the hardware available. How do I go about reducing the hardware use so I can browse comfortably?

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows
Post by: Innovative Solutions on January 04, 2018, 05:32:01 PM
It's quite simple. Please go to Settings / Miners then click on the blue button. You will be able to select which GPUs will be mining or not. :) This way you can watch a movie or play a game on one of the video adapters whole the others are mining. :)

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows
Post by: arlamelk on January 04, 2018, 05:44:47 PM
Thanks for the answer!

Is there any way to make it automatic?

How do you think it would wear down my 1050ti in the long run, while the only other thing I do is browse?

Also, on my other machine running GeForce GTS 450 I can't get to run any algo and it mines only with CPU. Is the GPU too old?

Thanks again

What do you mean by "automatic"? If you want to keep the same configuration after restarting, yes, it's possible. As for browsing the web while mining I believe it's ok. And the video adapter won't be harmed if cooling works ok.

Is the card I mentioned not supported by your software?

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows

You need to benchmark it. I am 95% sure it's supported. As for cooling, not something special, just make sure the cooler isn't stuck. :)

What other coins are you planning to add? Do you have XMY and other multi algo altcoins in plans?

How do I go about choosing how many cores should mine, instead of all of them? I've seen this option available in other miners but can't find it in yours.

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows
Post by: Innovative Solutions on January 05, 2018, 10:27:59 AM
We didn't focus too much on CPU mining because it's less profitable. We'll add this in a future release. The latest version automatically assigns the number of cores to use based on the Level 3 Cache size of the CPU.

I'm using BetterHash to mine with my 1080ti and it's flawless! But BetterHash wont allow me to mine with my Sapphire 270X. First, only "Claymore" is compatible, but when I benchmark Claymore it does not follow through with the benchmark. And If I just try to start mining without benchmarking first, its stuck at "Starting..." forever. However mining via the Claymore algorithm works flawlessly on NiceHash. So it would be nice if you guys managed to make mining work on the 270X so I didnt have to slog through NiceHashs slow payment rate.

Hey BetterHash  :D
Thanks for an awesome piece of software its absolutely simple, easy & effective to use.

I started using your service when another provider was hacked not mentioning any names.
I used your service for almost 1 week and it was excellent! The daily earnings were reasonable and at times it was too good for it to be true.

Do you have any plans of implementing a GUI so we are able to see what is being mined?
Also, possible to change USD to other currency?

Thanks,

SM247

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the positive review! We are overwhelmed by the good feedback that we received. It's clear that we need to get more people in order to get things done faster. To answer your questions:

1. We'll add more coins and we'll work on this as fast as we can. This will increase profits.

2. I didn't understand very well what you would like us to add to the GUI. If you would like to see the mined coin's name next to the miner selector on the Miners Setup window - this can be done quite easily. Or is it something else you wanted to ask for? ;)

3. Well, for changing USD to other currency (buying crypto) - that's something we have to think about, it's a new request. What we are working on is allowing our users to withdraw from crypto to EUR and USD.

Hello Daniel, thanks for prompt reply.

1. Thanks

2. Sorry my English isn't very good. I mean let's say with another provider NH when you click on "Start" automatically 2nd window appears which displays what coin is being mined and its speed. I hope you understand now, Daniel?

3. Sorry I didn't mean for buying. When I open BetterHash software by default the currency is set as $ because I live outside USA it can be difficult for me to monitor the daily earnings often need to rely on currency exchange. Are you able to implement so users are able to change from $ to other currencies within the software.

Sorry once again, my english isn't very good.

Thanks,

SM247

I tried BetterHash for about a month... good thing is it is very stable, never once it crashes my computer... but I feels the miner is also less aggressive compared to NiceHash.. so the hashing rate may not as high (I dont have numbers to back this up though).

It is also very friendly and easy to use... literally anyone that know how to install a program can use it.

There is one issue though... I withdrew all my coins by converting it to BTC, the withdrawal was very fast!.. But it is also very expensive!... I checked the transaction and it is using 500 sat/byte!

I checked the mempool and 200 sat/byte would have been enough! https://core.jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#24h

I literally wasted my money for nothing!

Would be great if we could choose Fast, Normal, or Slow confirmation mode when withdrawing...

Hi yes it would be nice to see option for withdrawals like Fast, Normal, or Slow confirmation mode hopefully the betterhash team can add this option in a future release

Sorry my English isn't very good. I mean let's say with another provider NH when you click on "Start" automatically 2nd window appears which displays what coin is being mined and its speed. I hope you understand now, Daniel?

@ solominer247 you can do this by unchecking miners start hidden in the general settings

I tried using your program and the hashrate is different compare to other cli miner. I also notice when I turned off automatically start mining there is a process that secretly runs on my computer that consumes my gpu's mining power. I try to look at the file later so I can name it.

Post by: Innovative Solutions on January 08, 2018, 03:25:50 AM
@solominer247: I got it, I wrote down your ideas and I'll discuss them with my coworkers.

@For_Canal_Coins: We are aware that sometimes the transaction could have gone through at a much lower sat/byte price. However, during our experiments we discovered that during high network activity times (while the Bitcoin network is congested) we might end up with transactions that never get through; they remain in an area where we cannot either increase the transaction fee to speed up processing or cancel them. Your idea of priority (low / high / medium) is somehting we can do. Added to the to-do list. P.S. The 500 sat/byte price was decided by asking the node for the price to get a 1-block confirmation. I checked last week's logs (during the congestion) and transactions with lower amounts and a 20% price decrease are still stuck as pending. :/

@Old_School: See above. ;) We'll work on it!

@jrtaboraman: Depends on what mining algorithm you use. As we promised we'll add more coins, more algorithms, etc. As the process that consumes GPU power please take a look and give me a name. I'm sure it's somehting we can solve.

Kindest regards,

Daniel

During the next weeks we'll work on security and adding more coins. As for the web interface - what suggestions do you have?

I realized that I'm not using the computer interface because my rig is actually being managed by a close friend in another state, so I only see the web interface- that could mean that I'm not actually seeing all your features, but some of the web-side statistics I'd really love to have would be:

  • Projected Short-Term Earnings
  • Side-by-side currency comparison
  • Long-term projections with hardware costs

Mycryptobuddy has a few tools that are super useful.

@ericnovak

Thanks a lot for this feedback! I understand this is a valuable tool when you cannot access the rig. The online account does this job, but offers not estimate, just the current earnings and pending balance accumulated for all your miners.

We worked a lot today on improving detection for AMD adapters on mixed rigs. The web development team worked on cleaning the code and tomorrow we'll all be working on 2FA. I hope we'll add it to a new online Settings tab by tomorrow evening. ;)

I think this is prime example of support from developers, this is how it should be. Super fast responses, quick development, direct contact with people behind software - no stupid shit like rising tickets, sending emails, tweeting etc. Bravo.

@Bimmber - Thanks a lot. This is time consuming sometimes... However: the ideas, the bugs that were reported - were pure gold to us! We've been in software development for more than 10 years and I can say that the crypto community is something completely different: generally technical users that know how to explain bugs, users with good intentions... We also received critical messages but most of them were correct and helped us improve the service. After many years of software development I started to enjoy answering messages. :)

Hi, thanks for great app. I am trying it now and then and it looks great. To be honest NiceHash is still my number one because of highest earnings (and i dont know how is that possible), but BetterHash is great and im planning to move to it. But i found one problem. Im not trying it on my mining rig with 6xGTX1060 but on my personal pc with only one HD7950 and if lcd goes to sleep BetterHas's hashrate drops around 5-7% down. And it goes back few seconds after i wake up lcd. I didnt try to use it on rig without lcd but this is not good result if we talk abour 5-7% drop on 6 card rig and more.
I know i can set lcd to not sleep, but its not good solution for me. And if it affect also rigs without lcd...

@Zikkson

I believe that only on some configurations NH can generate more revenue. What we will do in order to increase revenue is adding more mining algorithms and more coins. On some systems mining ETH can be more profitable, on other systems ZEC would be the best.

As for the hashrate that seems to drop it would help us to know what algorithm you used. In order not to expose your email here please open a ticket on send us a private message on our Facebook page mentioning this issue. The LCD shouldn't be related in any way to this issue - I would look for a network problem instead.

Thanks for fast reply!

I thought that high earnings are based on selling hash power, not mining altcoins directly for myself like others. But i dont understand how completly NH works. NH (all algos activated) says i can make 822usd/month with 6xGTX1060 and direct altcoin mining regarding whattomine says around 620usd/month mining ETH which is one of the most profitable there which should be same as BetterHase i think. That is huge difference. But still i like BetterHash more and more.

I will open ticket then. Anyway im using Claymore while problem happens. It looks like GPU is going to something like "eco mode" while display is off. But it works without any drops in NH for example. So i dont know if there is chance its app problem or just some system settings. Maybe i can do some research with msi afterburner graphs what happens with gpu while displays goes off.

@Zikkson: I didn't notice your ticket - or maybe you didn't mention we discussed on Bitcointalk. Can you help me with a ticket ID? Also - if you can take a look at the command line that NH uses I can compare it to BH and perhaps this is where the difference comes from.

Already worked today on finding a fix for the ECO mode. No results for now, but we'll solve it! ;)

@Old_School: The 2FA implementation has been delayed by a few days because of a Windows update: we had to make a lot of changes to BetterHash to make sure it continues to be 100% functional for users that updated their PCs.

@Reedtrullz: We received two or three operation_header.log files - almost all with the same issue. Doesn't make too much sense for now - probably an exception that's not being caught. We're still working on it. Can you please take a look in your last operation.log file and tell me if it contains anything like "Application exception"?

@Old_School: Please try to disable CPU mining. Looks like on some rigs it can cause systems to freeze.

@arlamelk: What do you mean by network crash? Miners only need a stable network - they don't transmit a lot of data.

Hi,

We released today an update. If your GPU was no longer detected you can try verison 2.31. If it starts working ok please let us know!

I mean that as soon as I start miners my WiFi stops working and only the miners are connected to the network for some reason. I can't use my browser or whatever software that requires internet connection.

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows
Post by: Innovative Solutions on January 14, 2018, 07:50:57 PM
You clearly have a WiFi problem then. I experienced something similar while configuring my Antminer D3, which needed to be on a wireless connection. Other programs were not bothered by the fact that the network was unstable, while the D3 was always disconnecting and trying to restart. In my case the solution was to increase the distance between the wireless router and the wifi receiver of the D3. In your situation, unfortunately I don't know the answer.

All you need is a stable network connection; don't worry about the traffic - just make sure the net it's stable.

Hi Daniel,

any idea, why BetterHash is not working on MSI R9 280X 3GB? I just swapped my GPUs to test his one. R9 380 is working without an issue on the same machine. With 280X miners is just trying to start, but it keeps in this forever.

Thanks for answer!

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows
Post by: Innovative Solutions on January 15, 2018, 05:16:42 PM
Hi,

If this happens during benchmarking - my guess is that the miner didn't have enough time to start and report the hashrate. The latest release (2.31) adds an additional 1 minute while benchmarking in order to get a response form the miner.

If you already set up your miners and it stays like this forever on the Activity tab - there's a problem with the miner. You may get more info by going to Settings / General and unchecking "Miners start hidden". You may see a message on the black command prompt window. :/ Might be a driver issue, maybe...

Daniel

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows
Post by: Scratchy.27 on January 15, 2018, 08:37:34 PM
Thanks mate for your answer. You were right. It was most likely related to drivers. I was using AMD Blockchain driver for my R9 380 with BetterHash without an issue...seems like 280X have some problem with it.
When I installed 17.12.2 version, it started to work ;)

Anyway, do you think 12MH/s is appropriate for R9 280X? I though they are similar with R9 380 (which is running at 22MH/s).

@bitcoinnewbie123: The "Confirmed balance" is the actual balance that is currently in your account. It is available for transfers to another wallet. The "Pending balance" refers to an amount that you will receive as soon as the mining pool will transfer the money to BetterHash.

We receive several payments from the mining pools each day. As soon as the payment is received the ETH is distributed to all accounts. Looking at the time you wrote this message on the forum I presume the balance already moved from "pending" to "confirmed" by now.

Hi guys, I've been trying out your software for a day or two but I've noticed an issue I think, on the Active Miners list one of the miners seems to get stuck and is listed as "starting". If I stop the miners and start them again then it shows up fine, but when I check back a couple of hours later that same miner says "starting" again but the command window shows the miner is still running.

Hi viper357! We are aware of this issue and working on fixing it. Everything is correctly accounted, all mined shares appear in your online MyAccount. It's only a reporting issue between the BetterHash interface and the active miner. If you can open a ticket using the link below and attach two log files: "operation.log" and "operation_header.log" - it might help us solve it faster.

Dear admin, im having a strange problem, i have 2 different machines running betterhash 2.3.7 on EWBF, but on my best one, im running a cool asus stryx 5 gb gtx 970, now, works fine with my other on a obsolete gtx 950, now, it starts fine, but after a while, it goes on start and stays there, my miner start windows says its mining, i un-click hidden to see...home windows display 0.00 everywhere, .strange cause when this happens, i dont see data on web page also, thank you, great program

ps, on equihash, doesnt do it, but slow as hell, barely does 120 compare to a minimum 165 on EWBF

unpaid shares do go up, just wont show data and connected

Hi ClaudeDunn!

I'm not sure I understood correctly. Let's try the following. Click Stop and wait a few seconds for all miners to stop. Then please go to Settings / General and uncheck the following:

[ ] Miners start hidden

Then click Start again. This will allow you to see what happens "behind the scenes". Leave it like this for a while and, when this happens again, just take a look at the black command window and see if the hashing speed appears ok there. If you can see a hashing speed in the miner and zero in the app - then you need to restart BetterHash - it's simply a reporting issue that we're trying to catch for some time.

As long as the miner is running ok and it displays a hashing speed - then everything is ok and payment is on the way.;)

We tried for a long time to understand when this is happening. We'll issue a new update on Monday and I hope we'll manage to solve it. Until then, the solution would be right-clicking on the system tray icon, choosing Exit, then restarting BetterHash. Only BetterHash, not the miner.

We'll catch this annoying bug...  :(

Strange is, on My workers page all of my active workers seems to be lastly reported at the same time today at 7:31AM ???
Thank you!

Hi!

The shares issue has been resolved 30 minutes ago. The disk on the server where we keep our data for the charts was full, so your charts were being displayed incorrectly. As this was only a reporting issue, all your mining has been accounted for, so the next shares that will come will have an increased value, to catch up for the ones that are missing.

BTC withdrawals have been resumed.

i was wondering, when looking at data, the time zone is not mine, is there a way to change the time zone somewhere ?

ps, i tried all kind of alternative to try to find better, at my age, you do know its what you get in your account that is real, aldo some nice ones seems to pay more, there waiting for you at the withdraw section to rip you of your earnings, so, BetterHash for me is the winner ....and so easy!

Thanks a lot for you nice comments. We're very glad to see that our users appreciate BetterHash. ;)

We have a lot of items on our to-do list. The timezone option was requested by many users and we'll add it for sure at some point. Unfortunately I cannot say when this will happen. We'll do our best.

Hi, yes, most of the AV systems detects any miners as trojan. You dont have to be worried, just add an exclusion for Betterhash folder to defender.

From our FAQ https://www.betterhash.net/faq/ (https://www.betterhash.net/faq/)

My antivirus detects BetterHash as malware. Why?

Antivirus companies try to detect as much malware on your PC as possible; otherwise you wouldn’t buy their product. The competition between antivirus companies forced them to sometimes detect harmless files as “potential threats”. Let’s take a look at cookies: they are not evil at all. Sometimes websites store in cookies your browsing preferences so they can offer you a better experience next time you visit them. However, you will find a lot of antivirus and antimalware solutions consider them "malware". This is incorrect and the exact same practice applies to cryptocurrency transaction validation. Our suggestion is to report this as a false positive because:

a. You agreed to install BetterHash and it wasn’t deployed on your PC without your knowledge

b. You can deactivate it or stop using it at any time you like - and this is not something malware would allow you to do

c. BetterHash is also listed in the Add / Remove Programs applet of your PC, allowing you to remove it from there as well

d. You were informed about the way BetterHash works

An application should be considered "malware" only if it is installed on a user’s PC without their knowledge or with an improper description of it’s real actions.

Hi Scratchy.27 and Innovative Solutions i already know that most of the AV systems detects any miners as trojan i was just concerned on what changed with the ETH miner that caused windows defender to detect it now as a virus cause i been using betterhash now for like 2 months and this just started happening a few days ago with the ETH miner

Most likely an antivirus database update. :/ It's hard to tell... To be honest I'm amazed BetterHash isn't detected as a virus that wants to take over the world.  :( Not yet, anyway.

Could you replace claymore by phoenixminer (or support phoenixminer) ? Very similar but faster, more accurate, with lower dev fee. One can even user claymore epool ou config file to run with phoenixminer.

We heard about PhoenixMiner. Adding a miner means adding monitoring as well (speed, hash rate) - so it will take come time. If PhoenixMiner based (forked) from Claymore?

I don't know, but monitoring is integrated with pheonix miner, I can see both temp and fan speed of my 2 cards + average speed at pool...

Would there be a possibility to manually add miners?

There are plenty of them beside claymore and there are more efficient ones..

Simple and nice GUI - would love to use the software

@All: All pending balances were released, this issue was solved early today/

@mrtats: Thanks a lot for helping with the explanation! You are right, BetterHash estimates the value of one share based on data that it receives from the pool. Let's say we know all our users made 100 shares and the pool tells us it will send 5 ZEC (for example). The pool continuously changes this estimation (the amount usually increases) but it can also get down because of stale shares. An interesting detail: soon after a payment is received the fluctuations are higher; as we get close to the next payment from the pool all values become more stable. :)

Sorry for the late answer - we need to cover a lot of communication channels:  BitcoinTalk, Facebook and our ticketing system.

Hello everyone! BetterHash updated all XMR miners (CPU, GPU NVIDIA and GPU AMD) and they all support Cryptonight v7. All incompatible miners have been automatically replaced and we are now using XMRig.

The latest version has been pushed as an automatic update. In case you somehow missed the auto update - you can get BetterHash from the link below.

https://www.betterhash.net/ (https://www.betterhash.net/)

New update released today! On some AMD rigs the XMRig-amd miner was incorrectly started. The problem has been solved and the update is available here:

https://www.betterhash.net/bh/download/

Daniel

The NVidia XMR miner has been updated once again. Version 2.49 of BetterHash (released today) replaces XMRig with CCMiner-KlausT. The new release improves the benchmarking process and solves a few minor stability issues. Download link below:

https://www.betterhash.net/bh/download/ (https://www.betterhash.net/bh/download/)

Daniel

We just released version 2.51.

The NVidia XMR miner should be working ok now. We replaced XMRig-NVidia with CCminer (KlausT version). You might notice that a new application named "cons.exe" appears to be running instead of the miner; this happens because the new XMR miner is not offering any kind of speed monitoring API and we had to improvise one. :)

Enjoy!

Hi everyone,

As most of you may have already noticed, we've added a new feature in your online dashboards. 8)

Don't want to constantly check if your funds reached the minimum withdrawal amount? We've got you covered with the BTC Automatic Withdrawal option.

All you have to do is set the wallet where you'd like to receive your BTC and we'll send it to you. The transfers will be made once a day, at 8 AM GMT for those that surpassed the minimum withdrawal limit. If you don't want to withdraw at the lowest withdrawal threshold, you can choose a different limit, from the other 5 options available.

BetterHash Team

P.S. Manual withdrawals are still available.

JCE miner for cryptonight (V7, heavy...) CPU mining ?

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows
Post by: Innovative Solutions on April 24, 2018, 09:11:58 PM
We tried PhoenixMiner for ETH in the past and the results were not so good when compared to Claymore, and we decided to stick with it. For XMR mining we are using XMRig for the CPU and AMD GPUs and CCMiner (KlausT) for NVidia GPUs. All our XMR miners are of course using Cryptonight V7.

We test new miners very often and, when something better comes along - we gladly add it. ;)

Thanks a lot! We'll be testing these days both PhoenixMiner and BMiner.

Daniel

While testing PhoenixMiner we noticed the following:

0% increase for the AMD GPUs when compared to Claymore
1% increase for the NVidia GPUs when compared to Claymore

It's true that Phoenix's fee is 0.65% - and this is a good thing. We'll test it a bit more and look for stability issues. Any feedback on Claymore vs. Phoenix from other users would be welcome.

In order to offer continuous service and prevent server downtime, today we added an additional routing server. Now, there are 2 routing servers and at least 3 backup pools for each coin. In case of a network failure, after a few reconnection attempts, the miners will reconnect through the secondary server.

You can download the latest release form the link below or wait for the automatic update.

Hi,

I don't think the issue is on BetterHash's side. I suspect that the latest Windows update (the antivirus update) is the one causing this. Also, did you reinstall Betterhash by using the setup file on our site, or did you simply copy the folder?

Daniel

@Avarice1of2

We discovered and corrected the bug. Everything should be ok now! Sorry about that!

Title: Re: [BetterHash] - Easy mining GUI application for Windows
Post by: Innovative Solutions on May 30, 2018, 06:19:52 AM
The fact that it's generating less shares has nothing to do with the OS install. Since the pool increased the difficulty even our own miners are generating less shares than before. ZEC increased its value a lot over the past weeks and it became more attractive for miners. More miners lead to a network difficulty increase. As long as the number of shares reported by the miner (running it visible on the screen) is the same as the number that appears in your BetterHash online account - everything is ok.

ZEC is now under ASICs control
https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020180503154806494uGcSyiu806FD
Hashing algorithm: Equihash
Power consumption: 300W
Hashrate: 10k Sol/s ± 5%

https://www.anythingcrypto.com/guides/antminer-z9-mini-profitability-2018
Comparing this against existing GPUs, the Z9 Mini seems to offer around 13.3x more hashpower per unit than a GTX 1080 Ti, but is more expensive upfront. A comparison of the two:

1080 Ti:

    740H/s at 200-240W, upfront cost of $700
    $9,500 upfront cost for 10kH/s
    2,970W power usage at 10kH/s

Z9 Mini:

    10,000H/s at 300W, upfront cost of $1,999
    $1,999 upfront cost for 10kH/s
    300W power usage at 10kH/s

And ZEC won't fork the algo. ZEC mining is dead with anything but ASICs. Switch for forked Equihash coins.

Thank you for writing.

As far as we know things are moving in the right direction regarding making the ZCash mining algorithm (Equihash) ASIC-resistant again:

https://z.cash.foundation/blog/statement-on-asics/
https://blog.z.cash/zcash-company-statement-on-asics/

Regarding the release of the ZCash ASIC miners: Bitmain has announced they shipped 77 units on the 29th of May:

https://twitter.com/BITMAINtech/status/1001376036985028608
https://blog.bitmain.com/en/antiminer-z9-mini-shipments-experiment-radical-transparency/

As of today they are probably on route and many of them are probably not mining yet.

Total ZCash network hash rate is currently ~ 520,000 kH/s according to https://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/zcash-network-hashrate-chart

The 77 devices shipped by Bitmain will add 77 x 10.0 kH/s = 770 kH/s

That will increase the current network hash rate by 0.15%, which means they will have an insignificant impact on difficulty and profitability of ZCash GPU mining.

Of course, many people say that Bitmain also has thousands of ASIC machines already mining for them in secret. I don't know about this - it seems more like a conspiracy theory.

In case ZCash mining profitability drops, we at BetterHash plan to mine other coins :)

There will be no fork, the dev is against it whatever the fundation wants. There has been a heated debate in the Zcash forum.

Some members already have their Z9 running.

We are keeping an eye on how this evolves. 8) As BetterHash becomes more and more popular the most important challenge that we are facing is making sure there is no downtime at all. The second priority is looking for new coins to add. In case ZCash is "attacked" by ASICs we are prepared to switch to e new coin pretty fast.

Kindest regards,

Daniel

P.S. Suggestions are always welcome!

We are in the works of adding some changes in the way we list the miners, as well as adding a new one for ETC (Ethereum Classic). Stay tuned for the update!

The BetterHash Team

Hi,

As announced, we have added ETC as an option for mining. The new version can already be downloaded from our website, and will also be automatically sent to your computers in the course of the following days. You will also notice a better reorganization of the Miners Setup page.

Hi,

It's easier to manage them if they're under one account. You have them all in one place and you can reach the minimum withdrawal limit faster. Plus, if you activate automatic withdrawal, your altcoins will be automatically converted to BTC and sent to your external wallet as soon as they reach the limit you set.

Hi,

Good luck! Yes, there will be further updates, we are working daily on improving BetterHash.

Best regards,
BetterHash Team

Hi,

We have added an Advanced tab in the Settings section in BetterHash. You can now customize your miners and add certain parameters to tweak the fan speed, temperature and other miner-specific options. The update is available for manual download on our website.

BetterHash Team

Hi,

We have released version 2.81. We added Bitcoin Gold as an option, as it is ASIC resistant and profitable for GPU mining. There are two miners, one for NVdia and one for AMD. We've added a driver tweak for the AMD GPUs for increased profitability. Also, from now, in the Activity tab you will be seeing the active miners first, followed by the miners that aren't running. We've added a Skip option to the benchmarking process. You can now skip certain miners and be more time efficient.

We recommend you to perform a new benchmark as BTG might be more profitable then ZEC.

Version 2.81 is an automatic update.

BetterHash Team

@LaTene

We are using CoinFoundry for the DASH Asic miners. :)

IMPORTANT!

The current BTG share price that is displayed in the Online Dashboard has not yet stabilized. We are working on it, and we estimate that tomorrow we will have the correct value. All your mining has been accounted for and your earnings will be recalculated using the correct share price.

BetterHash Releases Crypto Mining Software That Can Be Used On Any Computer Opening Up Potential For Everyone To Profit On Mining https://bitcoingarden.org/betterhash-releases-cutting-edge-crypto-mining-software-that-can-be-used-on-any-computer-opening-up... (https://bitcoingarden.org/betterhash-releases-cutting-edge-crypto-mining-software-that-can-be-used-on-any-computer-opening-up-potential-for-everyone-to-profit-on-mining/)

BetterHash shook up the Cryptocurrency industry this week with a major update to the ground breaking crypto-mining software that is on track to blow the lid off of the mining industry. In a niche industry such as Cryptocurrency and even further into the micro-niche of Cryptocurrency Mining lies tons of misconceptions and even mistruths put out by industry leaders. Crypto mining has become very profitable and some at the top don’t want to see it get watered down by more and more participants. The plain truth is that anyone can mine Crypto transactions. Until now, it did take ample hardware and a slight genius to become profitable.

However, with the introduction of the BetterHash mining software, anyone can use their existing computer to start profiting immediately. BetterHash was founded with a concise goal in mind, to develop crypto mining software that could be used on any device by anyone. The simplicity of BetterHash makes it great for beginners and its options for advanced settings also make it ideal for seasoned professionals. It is very easy to setup for beginners, but at the same time it allows the advanced users to set additional parameters for a more personalized experience. Zero fees are nice too....

We have good news for everyone who wanted to mine GRIN but couldn't because of the GPU limitations! We've just finished adding an alternative GRIN algorithm, Cuckarood29. The GRIN miner is up for manual update. Download the latest version of BetterHash, go to Settings/Miners and click the Re-download all miners link.

More info here: https://www.betterhash.net/news/2019-09-18-betterhash-new-grin-miner-nvidia.html (https://www.betterhash.net/news/2019-09-18-betterhash-new-grin-miner-nvidia.html)

Hi,

An automatic update has been sent to your computers. You can now connect to the @BetterHashBot in Telegram to receive miner updates and be updated much faster on what we do. Just open the BetterHash program and click the *Connect to our Telegram* bot link. For those of you concerned regarding privacy, this does not mean we will have access to more of your data than what you provide in your BetterHash accounts. Connecting to our Telegram bit will not give us access to your phone number.

P.S. You can link your Telegram account starting today. However, all miner notifications will be fully functional starting with Monday September 23rd.

We're long due an update here, and some things have changed since we last posted.
- We have updated our ETC nodes to be fully compliant with the recent hard fork, the Phoenix upgrade.
- We have updated our Ravencoin algorithm to a progpow variant called KawPow.
- We have added profit switching.
- We have the most profitable coin of the moment - after updating the miner following the KawPow hardfork, RVN is the most profitable coin right now
- We added the possibility of bringing external miners (use your own miners to mine our coins)

Feel free to test BetterHash and tell us your opinion!

Hi,

We had a rocky start with updating the ETC nodes and we experienced some difficulties related to the ETC payments. Some of you wondered if mining was affected. The only issues encountered were only if you were to receive, withdraw, or exchange ETC. The mining flow ensued normally. As of now, payments are back to normal as well.

Hi,

It's not an issue caused by the miner. It seems to be a driver problem on your end. Maybe the update was not done properly. Try and reinstall the drivers and let us know how it went.

Hi everyone,

On July 10th, the BTG Team has detected an extremely long attack against the BTG network, specifically a chain of over 1300 blocks that have been mined since July 1st 2020.

The Bitcoin Gold Team was quick to alert pools and exchanges to take measures immediately and many of them closed their wallets over a week ago.

BTG version 0.17.2 was supplied to replace the previous version, and it included a checkpoint at block 640650, hash 000000059ec8884fa4fbbdbe46c09cfb4ecba281dfa2351a05084e817c1200ae from July 2nd at 2am UTC.

According to the BTG team "With this block checkpointed, the attacker’s chain could not take over, but this information was not public, and the attacker continued to mine. The attacker mined their secret chain for nearly 10 days, renting power from NiceHash to do so. Today, on July 10, the attacker released over 1300 blocks. Because those attacking blocks are anchored at a block mined on July 1st (before the checkpoint), the honest pools and exchanges who are running the updated code automatically rejected the attacker’s chain."

In order to stay on the honest chain, BTG Core full nodes have been updated to version 0.17.2 in BetterHash. This way we made sure that mining in was not interrupted or affected in any way. The update is made in the background so there is no need for you to install anything.

We have updated our GRIN miner in expectation of the 17th of July hard fork that will occur for the Cuckarood29 mining algorithm.

The new miner will support the Cuckarood29 hardfork as well as the replacement of the now obsolete Cuckatoo31 with the new Cuckatoo32 algorithm.

The new version of BetterHash will be sent to you as an automatic update. If you read this message before the update arrives to you, you can download the latest BetterHash version at https://www.betterhash.net/bh/download/

After updating, we advise you to go to Settings / General and click on "re-download all miners".

To check if you have the updated miner, see if you have BetterHash version 3.147 with miners pack version 9.

Keep in mind that if you withdraw GRIN to your GRIN wallet, it should be updated to v4.0.0. If you exchange your funds to BTC you don't have to change anything.

update I rolled back to the may 24th driver update and it now works. The june update though does not.

Could you please list the version you had success reverting back to?

Hi,

I am deeply sorry about this - but unfortunately we cannot offer any kind of assistance installing the right drivers. BetterHash will start and monitor the miners, will make sure they get restarted when needed, will notify you when something goes wrong, will convert your profits and more. However - making sure a miner (that was not developed by us) is works on your rig - is something we cannot help you with. We'd love to - but it's impossible to remotely debug such an issue.

Please search the ccminer forums for more info about this error - I still believe it's something related to your driver, as the miner starts correctly but then shuts down by itself.

Kindest regards,

Daniel

Hi

There is a lot of uncertainty about Ethereum Classic mining these days. After the network has suffered three double spend attacks, payments have changed and our users have been affected by that.

We have detailed the first two attacks here: https://www.betterhash.net/news/2020-08-11-betterhash-etc-ethereum-classic-attack.html (https://www.betterhash.net/news/2020-08-11-betterhash-etc-ethereum-classic-attack.html)

The main reason payments have changed is the fact that the confirmations number needed for a single payment is currently at 80 000 blocks, which roughly translates to 14 days. All payments that you receive are for the shares mined 14 days before the payment is made.

Last Friday was 14 days after the last attack took place. Since the mined blocks were taken over by the attacker, we only received some crumbs. This resulted in much lower than expected payments towards our users.

Since this is no one's fault, we believe you shouldn't have to suffer the consequences. We took it upon ourselves to compensate you for the loss and have sent an extra payment that covers what the attackers stole.

However, we cannot stress enough that all of you should switch to a different coin. All future payments will still be delayed by 14 days and more attacks may take place that will result in you taking a loss.

Thank you all again for trusting us.

BetterHash Team

Hi there,

A quick question.  I installed last night and ran it overnight, mining.  It seems like in the middle of the night Betterhash either re-installed or updated and all the icons etc. on my Windows went back to as if the program was newly installed (I had removed Betterhash from recently installed and moved around the start menu icon, etc.).

Does it automatically update or something?  Thanks

Hi there,

We sometimes perform automatic updates when we know it's something that won't cause any inconvenience to the mining process and it seems that you may have just spotted one. The new version should be 3.157. If you didn't experience experience any mining issues, then you are good to go. Happy mining!

New mining softwares should start building their separate OS like hiveOS and EthOS, I don't like running softwares to mine a certain algorithm cos I always notice a drawback with performance, OS works better, the interface or dashboard of betterhash looks so attractive and easily understandable, work on the OS

I'm a noob and am trying to understand a bit better about the income being generated.  I've been running for about 48 hours @ ~60MH/s.

BetterHash says at that hash rate I should be generating around  $4.93/day

In the app, it says my confirmed balance is 0.00005614 BTC
(Honestly I don't care about BTC, I plan to withdraw the ETH to an ETH Coinbase wallet but if we look at BTC, that's equal to $2.14 at BTC's current rate)

If I login to the BetterHash website I see

Confirmed   Unpaid Shares
0.00167890 ETH   2208 See payment estimation

and also

Total Confirmed Balance - USD and BTC conversion
0.00005614 BTC (2.12 USD )

I see no indication I'm making $4.92/day anywhere I can find.   I'm wondering if I'm reading something wrong.  Is that 2208 unpaid shares (2208 what?) not yet added into the $2.12 total maybe?
If I click the 2208 I see
Unpaid shares: 2208
Estimated unpaid balance: 0.00193200 ETH

That's another $2.45 for a total of $4.57 for 48 hours-ish.  Still about half of what I'd expect.    Any help appreciated in troubleshooting or understanding what I'm looking at if I'm not looking correctly.

Something here makes no sense.   My 'daily total income' shown in the BetterHash app has varied from 3.50 to 9.50 while my hash rate has stayed consistent at 60-62 MH/sec.  I get there is variance in currency prices but over 4 days it's not that volatile.   I've now been running for 4 days and my confirmed balance is showing as .00011755 BTC (which I also don't get because I'm not converting to BTC, I'd prefer my confirmed balance be shown in what I have actually mined, which is ETH).  But that confirmed balance is $3.99 worth of BTC or about $1/day, not 3.50-9.50.   At $1/day this isn't worth running.

i've moved on to T-rex, betterhash never responded to my ticket and as far as i'm concerned they've been stealing my compute time from me, paying out only $1/day.

Hi, good front end and glad to see patience with the software admins doing no changes to the use of PhoenixMiner 5.5c; given the current issues with that miner and another mining pool.

Anything you guys can do to lower the BTC withdraw fee to non Coinbase wallets?
0.0002 BTC is a steep price that is the equivalent of ~2 days worth of mining on an RX 6800 (non XT) at current rates of ETH->BTC.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your nice words. In the crypto community, rumours can quickly ruin a profitable miner or application. We have to understand that even if something terrible happens, the developer might have had good intentions. As for the fees, we have to look at the past and make sure we are covered even in the event of a sudden fee rise. We'll do this next month.

Kindest regards,

Daniel

I just got a RX 6700 XT and I am unable to use phoenix miner I either get  clsetkernelarg (-48), or both clbuildprogram (-11), and clcreatekernel (-46).  I tried re-downloading the miners same issue. Also I am kawpow is not showing up as an option for me to mine with it. Please help.

Hi! We usually reply a lot faster if you open a support ticket on our website - this is the best way to get in touch with us.

I can see that a lot of our users are using this specific GPU to mine:
https://www.betterhash.net/AMD-Radeon-RX-6700-XT-mining-profitability-63128572.html

Most likely your issue is caused by a faulty or old driver. Please make sure you are using the latest drivers from AMD and also update your OpenCL software. If the updates are not solving this please check the PhoenixMiner forum here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.0 .

As for RVN mining with BetterHash please make sure you are running version 3.172 or higher.

Kindest regards,

Daniel (BetterHash Team)
