I am presenting a speculative idea and a conspiracy theory and here it is: China is planning to kill the whole of the cryptocurrency market starting with the biggest of them all Bitcoin and all the rest will follow. In fact, there is a detailed plan being worked out on here and it started with the banning of all ICO projects...next is the ban of all Bitcoin exchanges and soon all citizens of China having Bitcoin will be imprisoned for 20 years (only 5 years if the person will surrender his Bitcoin to the government for possible burning).

Do you think am I hallucinating due to the "shabu I bought coming from China? Or am I only making some predictions that has more chance to come true than playing in lottery?

But seriously, though what benefits are the Chinese getting from banning bitcoin or even killing it? Chinese has been the beneficiary of bitcoin ever since they have found and love it and evident of the miners farm they have. Personally, we are not thinking the same by saying that they have this plan and why just now? And if ever this comes into reality, others will take the void that China will left and bitcoin will still continue to function normally.

Government of China had history of taking actions boldly, even though it might not be trasparent. In my opinion, banning ICO is just trying to fight against 'illegal activities' behind it. It does not necessarily mean they are trying to kill cryptocurrency. They are also quite strict with money laundering. If cryptocurrency is becoming a popular way to money laundering, they will boldly kill crypto. So, in my opinion, the illegal issues will play a key role for the conspiracy to turn out to be true.

Only China can't ban bitcoin what they know is that bitcoin is a decentralized currency so is other cryptocurrencies, they can regulate it acceptability but not total ban. China is right in their own way may be they want to stop money laundering in their country. And their are afraid cryptocurrencies may be use to launder money out of the country.

You are right. They don't have to get rid all of it because there are still way to regulate it. Implementation of Know Your Customer (KYC) policy i think is enough to regulate it.

It's a bit late for that.  The Chinese government have not been oblivious to Bitcoin over the last few years at all - if they know what it's like and they intend to ban it, it would already have been banned several years ago.

In reality they know that there are people in China making profit from mining and other Bitcoin-related activities, so there's no point stopping that useful business.

You can't ban Bitcoin anyway.  You can try, but it'll only get rid of the people using it for legal things.  People who use it for illegal things will continue because they're better at handling their privacy.

I do not think that China really needs a plan when it wants to shut down the market of cryptocurrencies.
China would simply do it. There is no need for them to do anything step by step.

One announcement from their central bank that declares the usage of all cryptocurrencies as illegal, and that would be it.

Every time a government sets out to abolish something people like, the well-liked thing moves to where it can’t be stopped. This has happened with prohibition, gambling, the war on drugs and digital piracy. Now it's happening in China, where the government has been trying to crack down on bitcoin.

i don't know why you keep creating topics like these in different boards but it seems like you have put too much faith in one country and what its government does! if bitcoin someday gets affected by the government of one country while others are accepting it, then bitcoin is not bitcoin anymore!

yes China is big and there are a lot of traders there but what you say seems to be assuming that the millions of people who are involved in bitcoin from all over the world apart from China are nothing and count to nothing!

I think this is just a veiled conspiracy , where maybe bitcoin will be burned , for example there is a need for 1000 bitcoin kept on burn, what is this $ 4,230,000 in fuel? from the burn better for the government to prosper the people.

I agree if China had any such plans to kill bitcoin it would have implemented them at the very beginning when the Chinese started taking a lead in bitcoin mining. Now there's no gains to China if they kill bitcoin so I do have the same question what are the benefits China may be expecting by banning bitcoin? Apparently there seems to be none so I don't think China is going to take any such stupid step to put end to bitcoin or cryptocurrency in their country.

My opinion on China killing Bitcoin.. Just spreading FUD to catch more cheap coins for whales a corporations. Just when they are starting to grasp the obvious financial implications of crypto? Don't think so, they are not just that stupid. Also, take it with a grain of salt any piece of news that comes from the Chinese regulators, there is a high probability that the real reason for their decisions is actually the complete opposite of what they are actually trying to make the people think.

The world doesnt really care about what will china government do, if they want to shutdown bitcoin then its their authority to do so, but bitcoin and alt coins bring job opportunity and increasing the citizen economics life, if the country want to responsible is fine, the crypto currencies world still can go on without china

Not a conspiracy theory, it is quite evident from all the contradictory statements PBOC had made regarding bitcoin since 2013 that they are trying to manipulate bitcoins price. They know they have a global advantage when bitcoin is concerned and they are exploiting/manipulating it. BTC/CNY, Yuan still stays in China, good for the government, miner dominance, good for the government. I don't think the Chinese government would benefit in anyway by altogether banning bitcoin. They would just end up losing their global advantage.

China ban on bitcoin would have a short-term effect on bitcoin, but it would recover as always. There is Japan, South Korea, US, Australia, Russia, India. Even Russia and Japan are planning to launch their own mining operations by next year.

Banning ICOs is entirely different from banning bitcoin so I really don't think the Chinese government would take such a drastic step.

Yes, you're hallucinating. China Government banned ICO because some reasonable reasons to protect their citizens from financial scammers or being deceived. Bitcoin is a digital currency, govs can't just ban and seize it without any reason, even though cash could be used for illegal transactions. Bitcoin has become a profitable resource in China, there are many bitcoiners and miners, the biggest mining pools in the world, in that case, govs get taxes from their activities.

Bitcoin gave people the opportunity to build their own economy which would not depend on anybody. A mathematical formula cannot be fooled. But the people did not understand. They used what their is always someone in control. You need to be more independent and able to take responsibility. Then bitcoin will exist regardless of what thinks about it China or any other country.

I don't think China wants to kill Bitcoin, they want to take control of it by firing the current developers and putting Bitmain-funded developers on it. Bitcoin Cash is their attempt to make it the official Bitcoin. I mean just look at who is mining Bitcoin Cash and tell me Bitcoin Cash isn't Bitcoin China with a straight face.

This is only the beginning, they keep trying. China doesn't want a currency that isn't controlled by them in the hands of their citizens. So what we need to do is not fall for the FUD and hold the real Bitcoin.

It's more likely they'll try their best to control it. There has been accusations of insider trading, with whales getting advanced notice from the Chinese government whenever they'll announce something that would drop the price.

I don't see the chinese government attempting to kill bitcoin, they probably already know that it's made especially so governments can't kill it. However, they could severely limit its lawful applications and such an action would seriously implicate all investments and the entire economy. The Chinese government surely has a way to harm bitcoin's value if they want to, the fact that so much of bitcoin's transactions happen in China just leaves the rest of the world prone to a collapse of the bitcoin economy there.

Bitcoin is not something that can be killed by one country or authority. If it was that weak, this economic system for bitcoin would never grow like this.

I don't  Think China has that capacities to kill bitcoin as bitcoin is a decentralized system and any were you are you can mining bitcoin and do business with it. China has tried to fight bitcoin from all sides and of a truth they action has been affecting bitcoin negative but not killing it.  I think China government should ban cryptocurrency as this is better for bitcoin instead of this manipulations games they are playing. China does have some issues with Bitcoin and crypto-currency in general and there is a chance of China permanently banning all crypto-currencies including bitcoin but such a thing a not likely to happen because that will be a hell a lot of loss for the people using crypto ,but if they do then I dont what other countries will follow China's path and do!

If china had wanted to ban bitcoin,then they could have done it much earlier.What they want is they want to have total control over bitcoin transactions and they have already framed such laws for bitcoin exchanges.They just want to finish all these irregulated ICOs so that they could easily concentrate only on bitcoin and have full control over bitcoin transactions.China totally don't like bitcoin,that's another issue.They know very well that they could not completely ban bitcoin with such a situation in which bitcoin is getting dominant usage all over the world.They just want to regulate bitcoin.

The fact that they dont get anything from companies that are holding bitcoin or using it as a business is already prison time for them.

Bitcoin been banned most probably won't be happening, yes the ICO seemed to be blocked entry or use, but the prime currencies will be in use. As others I also think heavy regulations will take place against its use. But if China bans it, crypto might take a bad hit.

If China would really want to kill BTC then they would do it a long time ago, by banning bitcoin mining, usage, possession and trading.
Why they wait so long, why they half witted banned leverage trading first or ICOs? They would simply say that BTC is hard to control.

Since its conspiracy theory, but that doesn't mean there is not an element of truth in it. However, I don't see it coming true in the sense that the way Chinese government is going about it, they can only succeed if other dominant countries can follow suit because despite the ban of exchanges in China there are still several exchange sites spread across the world in which the reach of China cannot still get to. As far as I know, Mao Zedong's revolution was primarily funded by international foreign bankers. The same might be said of Joseph Stalin and Valdimir Lenin's revolution in russia. Also Che Guevara and Fidel Castro's revolution in cuba. Many if not all communist revolutions & regimes were funded and paid for by international banks.

In discussing china, to some extent, Mao Zedong was likely a puppet of globalists. Mao's party affiliation, values, ideals, economic and foreign policy. Why should they do it? Why people are worried so mutch about it? imho there is a lot of farmers located in china and that makes this country one of the biggest beneficiaries of most cryptoactivities. And the number of chinease miners only grows for the past year so that possibly makes it more centralized in future.

Even price bitcoin decrease we are always here to support bitcoin . And take note not only china have  huge user there are many country are hugeuser than china. You have rightly said. There does not seems any kind of benefits which China will get by killing this Crypto currency. China is one of the greatest user of the Bitcoin and all other digital currencies. They actually know the worth of these digital currencies, China will never ever take a risk of loss.

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, has been spread widely across the world, has real usability as medium of exchange and I think there is no any country could kill bitcoin. Government can ban it, the price will fall down, but it will recover again even though it takes several months. On the other side, whenever bitcoin price fall, it's an opportunity for everyone to purchase some cheaper coins.

China is the largest country in the world that does have the largest population. So in terms of transaction China could be a number factor for Bitcoin development and growth in terms of transaction. Yet the theory about China will going to destroy bitcoin could possibly happened if the number of transaction will exceed in the higher expectation of Bitcoin making the value of Bitcoin unbalanced to its transactions.

It seems unlikely that they would take such drastic measures to outlaw Bitcoin. However, you may be on to something with them trying to kill Bitcoin. It's possible that they will try to either control it or make it worthless by banning it so that they can make a cryptocurrency for their country that they run and control themselves. China kill ICO but not means will kill the cryptocurrency community. According to my hypothesis, the Chinese are plotted to enrich their Government, squeeze to make price the market disorder and acquisition, then push the price to enrich themselves.

Bingo. No government can look around at what is happening in the Bitcoin/cryptocurrency space today and believe that they are going to disappear. Either get with the program or get left behind. There is only so much time to develop an ideal regulatory environment before other countries become the hubs for cryptocurrency finance. Just look at Vietnam, legalizing cryptocurrencies and outlining a regulatory framework.

I don't think the ban on ICOs will remain permanent, either. But the amount of money being put into this space is becoming large enough that the government feels they need to get a handle on it (AML, outflowing capital, unregulated securities, etc).

Well, in my opinion, Bitcoins is still a relative new currency, but it is indeed growwing stronger, but we re talked about China here, their economic system is one of the biggest and can influence many things, so China have a chances to doing it.

I totally agree with you that the Chinese are the one who have got most benefits from bitcoin in the world but let me make it clear that it is not the Chinese government who has got benefits from bitcoin the Chinese people are making money with bitcoin and all the cryptocurrency stuff.
Chinese government banning the ICO's and may ban bitcoin in the future its reason according to my knowledge is very simple. China have deployed Socialism as a form of economic system now socialism is a lenient form of communism though things are a bit different but at the end they both are sort of the same. They don't want their public to be involved in any kind of economic activity bypassing the government & government interest.

China is one of the biggest economies in the world. If U.S. -China trade cools down, it will inevitably have an adverse impact not only on the two countries but also on the entire global economy.

China is currently one of top economic powers in the world and any move is likely to be felt one way or another. Kill is maybe a bit too strong word, but it can surely influence it. If they would forbid it, they could forbid the local exchanges and maybe even find a way to prevent individuals from using it but they would not be able to influence the usage of the btc outside China. So they could try, but i'm not sure they would succeed.

actually they are ban everything to force their citizen to use their own products. for example they ban/block google so they have baidu as search engine . quite smart. i don't know what the next plan of chinese government for bitcoin in the near future.

In order to destroy bitcoin it must be banned by all countries. The ban of one China can only reduce the number of users for a while, and in time in other countries people will join it.

China will not be able to put bitcoin down all by itself. China is one of the biggest players in bitcoin market but that does not mean that China can shutdown bitcoin. If China will forbid bitcoin use in their country it can affect bitcoin's price negatively but it is far from being enough to kill bitcoin.

Even, if all countries in the world would together try to kill Bitcoin by banning it, they couldn't because of the innovative architecture of Satoshi and the worldwide largest community behind it.

it may give some effects on price but they are not the only one who have the capability to invest on bitcoin but same as you said there are lots of wealthy countries which do supports it.Even if they would decide to ban it I cant see that bitcoin or even cryptoworld would vanish.Let china go on their own business and mind ours on Bitcoin. The main reason they'd want to ban it is because it circumvents their currency controls.
But at least right now, that's not a problem because the Yuan has been rising (pretty
fast, too). That reduces pressure on currency fleeing the country and hence Bitcoin as
an escape route.  That makes today's announcement all the more puzzling...

The Chinese government is likely developing their own digital currency. According to cnLedger‏, there's already a smartphone app available called "Blockchain e-Wallet" which is developed and designed by the Bank of China. It supposedly uses blockchain technology and can be linked to Bank of China debit cards. There is apparently no bitcoin/crypto interface in the app.

I think the Bank of China would be unlikely to develop this app entirely independently of the government.

Bitcoin is much forbidden, it will make people curious to know and eventually become bitcoin users. I do not think this would have a major impact because bitcoin users are global and anonymous.

Well, according to the Wall Street Journal: "The Bank of China has led a draft of instructions that would ban Chinese exchanges from providing virtual-currency trading services".  This just happened over the weekend.

If you read closely, and then read the article the WSJ and Bloomberg are citing, you'll see that there is no evidence that digital currency trading will be banned. Not only is the report totally anonymous, but it doesn't issue a directive against digital currency trading, but rather fiat/crypto trading. That's why Okcoin announced that if the report were true, they would switch operations to a digital assets exchange, rather than principally a BTCCNY exchange.

No, you are not hallucinating, you are predicting it right maybe there is something wrong or not actually wrong as the Chinese gov't is probably interested for bitcoin and wants to do something for controlling the transactions in their country.

As we all know Chinese people are good in making money.

This post is proof that China is achieving what it wants with crypto. There is no country better at manipulating currency than China. They do it with fiat and are now doing it with Bitcoin too. It is quite simple. Claim you are banning cryptos, create FUD and a perception you dislike something, when in reality when the price drops as a result you then go and buy up the cheap coins.

Definitely, thats their way to manipulate btc and to acquire some more. It will be for teir benefit as always. Chinese investors will soon be back in investing ICO once they have plenty of btc on their wallets.

China hasn't banned exchanges till now and if they do they will suffer a loss, second if China even plans to imprison people who use bitcoin in their country, then they will need a large amount of prisons built especially for the people who use bitcoin or any other crypto currency. You must be really high when you wrote this. LOL!! I think China just wants to regulate the use of Bitcoin so that they themselves will be able to monitor it and the government will have a hold on the crypto coins as well and can manipulate the market.

I dont think this would happened, I have my own speculation about this. I feel, theres a hidden agenda for ico bannings and closing exchanges. And that is to cast fear and make bitcoin dropped severely. Chinese whales are waiting for your coins in the dip.

Even though the effect of the decisions by the Chinese government is reaching an unprecedented level and the last time we went as low as this in recent time is prior August 1 but right now its facing us again.

The way bitcoin is structured, I don't think Chinese government can successfully kill it and its no other reason that when group of people resolve to go a particular way come what may, they can only be put down but not defeated and that is exactly what will happen in the case of bitcoin. Bitcoin has grown beyond nationalities or even continent and a whole lot of us have resolved to make this a success.

this is because Bitcoin Exchanges Lack Legal Foundation, China Internet Finance Association Says... this is the reason why China has junk the use of bitcoins in their country.  They are basically afraid that they will lose their economic power eventually. 

On the other hand, they should be looking for the economic success it would bring, they surrendered in finding ways to regulate bitcoin and that will lead them incompetent, they cannot stop the changes and whatever they do some countries will continue the development as decentralization is the new system that would be beneficial to the people.

I'd say it's impossible for any government to "kill" Bitcoin; sure, they can ban it or make it illegal in their jurisdiction thus making the exchange of fiat to btc and vice versa quite hard, but how are they going to go after the people who are making transactions or holding it in their wallets? Well why should china burn the coins ?  There should be a services who accept bitcoins as donation. But i am afraid with tax. If government start accepting bitcoins they can applied highly tax for sure. So my answer is yes bitcoin can help community by donation. I think you are going to far. China like to keep an eye on their money, and bitcoin doesn't help them in that task. They will fight it if they can't control it, but I don't think it will ever go that far, and truly don't believe that even if they ban bitcoin, the other countries will follow. Well, that sounds better if government will donate the money to the poor community instead of burning it literally. China can't kill btc, what is one country compared to many of us. Okay, let's say they have a big part on btc but that isn't enough to take down btc. Aside from that, there are country like Japan who are currently pushing into btc. Maybe they can affect the price movement but they can't totally kill btc because it has been widely spread.

Anyways, for me this is just a theory and of course it will not happen. Its given that China is a huge market for cryptocurrency, but we still have Japan, U.S.A and other great countries in Europe who keeps on supporting Cryptocurrency. China has no choice but to adopt this one and maybe make their own Coin to compete with bitcoin.

I don't think that China can kill bitcoin right now unless they can have the most bitcoin and never make any transaction after that and that will make bitcoin cannot spread in among us. China can't really sell its USD without causing major global problems, if they sell USD for RMB, their currency massively appreciates, not what an exporter wants, and also drives domestic inflation due to newly circulating (unsterilized) RMB flows.

China can't just switch to BTC since most intl traded commodities are done in USD. Would they LOVE to change that to IMF's SDR or RMB, yes yes and more yes but having a non-convertible currency also means a very slim chance of real international usage.

China ban on crypto is to stop damage done by scammed ICO and wild trade which resulting RMB flowing out of country rampantly. till they found a way to keep RMB interest and let crypto flourish, the ban will stay. but not for long, China is working on the crypto part.

The Chinese government banned the ICO because of reasonable reasons to protect its citizens from financial fraud or fraud. China does not currently ban bitcoin, a decentralized digital currency that has spread widely around the world.

No one can "kill" a decentralized cryptocurrency unless people and investors stop supporting it. China is already open to bitcoin after one of their court ruled in favor of the cryptocurrency. Strict regulations can only prevent people from buying or selling bitcoin temporarily but it won't stop people for looking some alternative exchange to buy cryptocurrencies. The so called conspiracy theory is often use to sow doubt and spread panic to the people even it is not true or not yet proven.

From my own perspective these Chinese government can prohibit the bitcoin currency in their country even in other countries as well, but it can not affect the circulation of bitcoins and other crypto currencies in other ares, especially in those where the crypto currency has already been legalized or should be legalized in the near future. You can kill a bitcoin by killing its network if the miners stop supporting it. A hardfork is the other way to softly kill the bitcoin as what did happen this week when the majority of the miners shift momentarily to mine BCH fork against its rival BCH SV. It's already been banned in China but Bitcoin still remains the same. On the other way around, China is also a powerful country which they have also some well-experienced programmers that could possibly be probably make their own cryptocurrencies. Our technology nowadays can almost do the impossible and some are already been proven which is the birth of crypto's.

Well that us just it, a conspiracy. I mean i have been seeing ICOs left and right originating from China and project that are crypto currency related from China. First, no government controls the blockchain and cryptocurrency during its creation was intended to have an anti-government idea, where taxes are no more and boundaries almost limitless. So how can such a cryptocurrency be killed? Bomb the blockchain? Isn't it what you are having in your hallucinations?
