Title: When is your post considered ACTIVITY OR POST???
Post by: Jake052478 on September 11, 2017, 01:09:58 AM
Just wondering the difference between the two since I am newbie, I wanted to know when is our post considered to be ACTIVITY OR POST... I have a better number of post that activity... Can anyone help me be educated on this... I have a disparity of about 6 post greater that my Activity... Don't they coincide with each other???

Answer:
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour.

Example
For example, if in a 14 day period you post 14 posts, you gain +14 activity.
If you post 2 posts in a 14 day period, you gain +2 activity.
If you don't post at all in a 14 day period, you don't gain activity.
However, if you post 15 or more posts in a 14 day period, you still gain only +14 activity.

1 post = 1 activity

so if you post something and your activity is 30, it will become 31

all are counted as a post !! and your post will be counted as activity when you are on the 2 weeks prior rule.. you can have 14 activity ONLY every 2 weeks of server calendar :) that means you need more patience here for you to rank up .. but still that will weigh the rank of every member because anyone can post 100+ post in just a day and that will ruin the time of other members who are  members here for a long time ... can you see members here a year or more ? they are awesome

As what I've read here and understand activity updates every 14 days so if you posted more than the activity you are getting you will have to wait for the next update of the activity. And every day only 1 activity is counted, correct me if I am wrong since I am also a newbie in this forum and trying to understand the rules too.

Post counter increases every time you post. 1 post = 1 activity but only 14 posts converts to activities every half month.

You can post anytime but activity updates every 2 weeks or so. but don't burst post because you will get banned.

POST oR REPLY considered as ACTIVITY and yes POST has number than activity because it will update your post to activity every 14 days.

here's how it works first you need 14 days to update your rank to jr. member, then in that 14 days you need to have 30 activities every 14 days they will update your rank it depends how many activities you have.

And for this to become Jr. Member you need to have 30 activities
Member:          60 activity
Full Member:    120 activity
Sr. Member:      240 activity
Hero:               480 activity
Legendary:       I thing above 700 and up.

Hope you get some ideas here...

It is considered  post every time  you post or comment to different  forums like this
Every 14 days there is an update that counts your activities to check for it just refer to your profile  :)

So far looking at my account age I have a bit more over 5 x 14 days periods, and more than enough posts to get member rank on forum.

But I am still Jr. Member - why is that?

Title: Re: When is your post considered ACTIVITY OR POST???

everytime you post that = to 1 activity

but the activity is "implemented" every two weeks, even though it's updated hourly. So in general it would be a good idea to post little by little and post good stuff, no trash as a lot people do

Did anyone see when the last 14 day update was?  Or is it tied to our join date instead of a mass update?

Where you got this information? I have read here in forums per day 1 activity so this can reduce spam also those who wants to increase in posts.
Anyway we have to wait as per the rules and follow them wisely.

14 activities gets added in 14 days. This 14 activities goes with 14 posts.

When you post in this forum it is added in your post count while activity varies in the number of posts that you make and how relevabt it is to the topic. Activity count is measured every two weeks with the max number of 14. If you have made 14 posts in the period of 2 weeks then it will update and add 14 to your activity. The difference between the two is that the post count is updated everyday while activity is updated every 2 weeks.

I have the same question: when does the 14-day window start and stop?
I'm pretty sure it's not tied to join date...

So far looking at my account age I have a bit more over 5 x 14 days periods, and more than enough posts to get member rank on forum.

But I am still Jr. Member - why is that?
Posts = The number of posts you have actually made (and that have not been deleted).

Activity = (14 * the number of 2 week blocks you have actually been ACTIVE/POSTED IN).... OR your number of posts... whichever is the LOWEST.

So, your account might have been created 70 days ago (5x14)... but unless you posted at least ONCE in each of those 14 day periods... then they will not all be counted as active periods.

You registered: 2017-06-29, 23:40:08
Your first post was on: 2017-07-27, 19:09:51

That's nearly a month, so that is at least 1x 14days periods (possibly 2x periods) you were not active... your 2nd post was on: 2017-08-29, 19:37:06, another month later... so that is at least another 1x 14 days periods (again possibly 2x periods) you won't get activity for... You've then posted almost every day since then...

Given that your activity is currently 42, it looks like you've been credited with 3x active periods.

For the benefit of others who don't quite understand the maths:

Example 1 - Posting several times a day, going on holiday for two weeks.
Period 1 = 20 posts
Period 2 = 20 posts
Period 3 = 20 posts
Period 4 = 0 post
Period 5 = 20 posts

Your Post count = 80...  but as you were only active in 4 periods... your Activity = 56... lowest value out of number of posts (80) and (14*active periods) = 56

Example 2 - Posting once/twice every few days
Period 1 = 5 posts
Period 2 = 5 posts
Period 3 = 5 posts
Period 4 = 5 posts
Period 5 = 5 posts

Your post count = 25... your activity = 25 as it is the lowest value out of number of posts (25) and (14*active periods) = 70.

Example 3 - Burst/Spam posting
Period 1 = 100 posts
Period 2 = 100 posts

Your post count = 200, your activity = 28 as it is the lowest value out of number of posts (200) and (14*active periods) = 28.

Example 4 - Long inactive period
Period 1 = 1 post
Period 2 = 1 post
Period 3 = 0 post
Period 4 = 0 post
Period 5 = 0 post
Period 6 = 0 post
Period 7 = 0 post
Period 8 = 0 post
Period 9 = 0 post
Period 10 = 100 posts

Your posts count = 102, your activity = 42 as it is the lowest value out of number of posts (102) and (14*active periods) = 42

TL;DR - Your activity will only ever increase by a maximum of 14 every 14 days... assuming you make at least 14 posts in those 14 days. Rank is based on activity

... while activity varies in the number of posts that you make and how relevabt it is to the topic...
Unfortunately, activity has NO relation to the relevance of your posts... hence the amount of shitposting and "spam" that happens here :-\

THANK YOU!

I had trouble understanding the math behing this.

According to that I will have to wait for the next period...

I dont even know what is the meaning of that terms, but i just posting based on the thread title, well, i dont care much about it. If we do something right and passionately, it will come back to me in a great way, so i just keep suggesting myself to keep doing it even if i cant see the results soon. Thats for me, and i hope you guys do that too.

I am also trying to get the difference between activity and post. After studying many posts given by different members and  available online resources I came to a conclusion that one post is considered one activity but during a period of 14 days , if some one places more than 14 posts , the number of posts will increase but not the activity. I think The maximum no.of activity in a two weeks period is 14. If I am mistaken PLEASE some one else clarify this issue.
