Requirements,
-High-end PC (Intel i7, 64-bit (Windows 7 with full updates), 16GB RAM or more)
-170GB+! You should ready your HDD (SSD recommended) capacity for that big amount of files (Blocks)
-Internet speed more than 50Mbps
-Internet Router setup (UPNP must be on, no firewall filters, no IP filters) for sync on peers
-Anti-virus, you should exclude Bitcoin on scan monitoring
-Encrypt your wallet, don't put any of your informations when making a passwords, some hackers lurking your identity, bitcoin address, etc.
-You should backup "wallet.dat" to your cold storage (USB, Memory card, Disc (Not recommended if not proper used))
-PC Maintenance (CCleaner, etc...)


When you leave your PC/Laptop opened with bitcoin opened, you should monitor it using TeamViewer (Remote PC by using Smartphones).

as of now i dont have a problem using my btc wallet online and a cold storage, i think you dont need a high end laptop or pc when using it plus 50mbs is a lot when opening your wallet and receiving or snding bitcoin in another wallet or exchange. Im using a low end laptop with 1 TB HDD 4GB RAM Intel Core i3 and all are smoothly going to what i expected. It was open 15 hrs a day as im using it for some paper works. Maybe what you want to portray is about bitcoin mining. well correct me if im wrong.

These specs could be the optimal specs if you want to run an unpruned version of bitcoin core (bitcoin-qt) smoothly (haven't checked tough, but i seems plausible to me), while having hundreds of unspent outputs and addresses and do dozens of transactions daily.

If you run bitcoin core with a pruned database, the HDD space will be reduced dramatically, and if you don't mind the fact that core might stall for a couple of seconds once in a while, i'm pretty sure the other specs can be a bit lower to...

A different sollution is to use a HD SPV wallet like electrum. I don't know the minimum specs, but i've ran electrum on a 10+ year old laptop without any problems... It uses just a couple of Mb diskspace and runs smootly on windows, linux, mac or andoid...

I'm also a bit confused about the fact that somebody recommands to monitor your pc using teamviewer from your smartphone. It's the first time i hear about this...

You can monitor your PC/Laptop using TeamViewer using your smartphone (Android, I dunno if iOS has it) while you're outside or afk. Maybe there's a chance a hacker might known your IP address while lurking on weird sites, might control it without your consent.

I'm not recommended this for newer users, this is for experienced users only. I don't wanna see "I lost my ##.#### bitcoin i didnt send anything" thread in the Bitcointalk Discussions. This also works on altcoin but Pentium 4 processor (1.6GHz, dual core, 2GB RAM and Windows 7 enough) for every users.

You have posted here a whole bunch of misconception, I hope newbies won't read it and think that it's all true.

There's absolutely no need for i7 and 16 GB RAM, Bitcoin Core takes only 300 MB RAM on average.

You absolutely don't need SSD, any HDD would work. Disc space is pretty cheap nowadays.

A few Mbps is enough.

You don't need to install any encryption software, it's all done by your wallet when you are setting up a password.

Cold storage is entirely different thing, don't mix it up with backups.

Monitoring your PC with TeamViewer or whatever is useless and paranoid, if your security has been breached, your coins will be gone forever in a seconds.
