Decentralized casino looks interesting at large but need to dig deep more to understand the whole concept very well. This is what I will be doing later today to catch up with all possibilities in case I invest some money into this. There is sufficient time to make my mind by the way I will be hanging around.

you have to also remember that the purchase cap is strictly limited to 10,000 USD to allow everyone a chance to get a piece of the pie so any big players will have to make a second purchase tomorrow when the cap doubles

It's a good idea and they guided people very well through the ICO process. I am happy they listened to the community and capped the per person amount that can be invested in the ICO to $10k just so as many people as possible can participate.

They have a partnership with Blockchain Labo and lots of cool stuff coming up in the next months.

So far their only oversight was not giving out guidance on gas limit and gas price.  I realized that and sent a DM to the CEO on slack and he responded same day.  His guidance was at least 200,000 gas limit (standard for ICOs) and at least 22 gwei gas price. 

The team mentioned that Blockchain Labo would get between $4 - $5 million of the ICO tokens just for their Asian distribution, and that is likely where those ICO funds were immediately accounted for on the website.  I checked the Ethplorer.io and saw a second DBET ethereum address, which is here: https://etherscan.io/address/0x7be601aab2f40cc23653965749b84e5cb8cfda43

That looks to be the amount you are likely referring to.  This team has done a great job with their ICO and their communication to the public in slack, facebook, twitter and YouTube.  I look forward to seeing how their online casino turns out.  They claim to already have a working product (at least a slot machine), so I'm sure we'll see more information in the near future.

I have seen a number of so-called decentralized casinos now, but did not choose to join any ICOs properly due to my lack of understanding about how they all really work. I know from what I have seen is that they all seem to make a lot of money,,, except one or two like Moneypot which was famous but then lost a lot of money when players hit big.

The chance to lose by being the house is very small. But what if this also ends up like Moneypot?

Actually, the announcement has not been small at all. It's been covered very extensively in groups on Facebook, their Twitter account and they have a YouTube channel through which they keep people informed very well. Their own group on Facebook has 8000 followers for example.

The difference is DBET will give back all the profits to the DBET holders who risk their coin with the casino.  That is impressive.  Of course, the team can't guarantee the house doesn't lose money in any given quarter, therefore do not invest more than you can afford to lose.

February wrap-up

For the large part, the second month of the year has been one of consolidation and new paradigms for not only the cryptocurrency market but also several of the traditional stock markets. It was something which was spurred on by a largely bearish market sentiment which resulted in downward price pressure and significant percentage losses across the board. Historically, this has been much the same for recent years and it is something which is blamed on a combination of Chinese New Year as well as the simple fact that December saw the markets rise too high and too quickly. That being said, if trends hold true, and lows remain higher and in line with the market’s long-term moving average, a recovery should not be too far away at all.

For Decent.bet specifically, our internal wheels have been spinning rapidly as we edge ever nearer to our platform release. For those that haven’t tried the testnet yet..it is much easier now with the new updated testnet!

**NOTE** The testnet is NOT the finished product! There will be features added along the way, the testnet was just a way to ensure functionality of the core system.

STEP (1) - For the settings, Just chose Private key and DBET node and clicked “Generate Private Key”.

STEP (2) - Copy and save this key somewhere, this is your testnet private key. After saving it, click login.
STEP (3) - After logging in, do not yet click on the Slots button!  Click on your freshly generated public testnet address at the top right of the screen so that it copies to your keyboard.

STEP (4) - You need to get some test ether from Rinkeby so next, you will go to https://plus.google.com/communities/109236509503098181217 and make a post with a google Plus account. All you have to put into your post is your freshly copied DBET testnet address.

STEP (5) - After posting to the Invisible college community page, get the link to YOUR post. You should be able to get the link by clicking the little square with the arrow pointing to the top right of the square. It will open a new page with only your post, copy this link.
STEP (6) - Now go to rinkeby, https://www.rinkeby.io/#faucet and paste the link. Then click “Give me Ether” and it should fund your new DBET testnet address with test ether.

STEP (7) - Now go back to your DBET tab, and click on the “Claim Faucet” button in the upper right hand corner. Wait about 2 minutes then refresh the screen. You should now have a 10,000 DBET balance.

STEP (8) - Next, you need to click the “Slots Available now” button. Now you will see in the middle of the screen, “Get slot chips, Withdraw chips, and Slot chips : DBETs” Click “Get slot chips”

STEP (9)- Enter in the desired amount. Give it about 30 seconds.

STEP (10) - Then click on the Crypto Chaos Slots button.

STEP (11) - Enter in the desired amount between 100-1000. This will create an open channel, you need to fund the channel.

STEP (12) -Give it about 30 seconds to show up, then click the “Deposit” button. If the channel doesn’t show up in 2 minutes, refresh screen.

So is mainnet going live soon? You plan on advertising your service, that is entirely based on customers using the platform, anytime before the launch maybe?

A suprise release is not exactly what you want, no idea why noone in your team is talking about this. Are you not even close enough that you can set a date and start advertising? Thought release was pushed back to early may, it's time to come out and give some info.

Hi! We have no intents of a surprise release, earlier this May we announced that we are ready to release, just awaiting a final security audit.

For security reasons, we cannot disclose who the auditor is.

The team is very vocal about this on our Slack and the post was made to all social medias, including here.

The release is very soon, we also have a testnet with the platform capable of being tested at any time on the Rinkeby Eth testnet.

I understand how you feel though but hopefully these points bring light to your concerns. Let me know if you have any other uncertainties.

the phase of development is now! This month we are releasing the mainnet with the first session for passive income.

Yes, 95% of the profits go back to the shareholders in the equation: Your Profit = (User Tokens / Total Tokens) * Quarterly Profit

The remaining 5% is also passive income, via the lottery. This 5% gets locked into a lottery that any user with 1k DBETs is entered into, with up to 5 entries per wallet.

As no doubt many of you have by now noticed, Cryptopia have decided to move ahead with an aggressive delisting action and have halted the trading of twenty-five alt tokens. Unfortunately, the DECENT.bet token was one of those delisted by Cryptopia.

Why Did This Happen?
To date, the justification we have received from Cryptopia is exactly the same as what was sent to token holders. They have identified and recategorized our token as a ‘Financial Product.” Cryptopia has a number of unique compliance requirements to adhere to as a registered Financial Service Provider in New Zealand.

What Does This Mean Moving Forward?
In terms of DBET on Cryptopia itself, all trading of the identified tokens has been immediately halted. Customers have four weeks to remove their tokens from the exchange. Trading can be continued on our alternative exchanges, such as hitbtc, and the storage of tokens can be in a supporting exchange,the DBET wallet,or MyEtherWallet.

As for direct alternatives and solutions, we will continue to actively pursue listings on high-volume exchanges as well as develop our own strategic partnerships and solutions to overcome possible liquidity issues.

One of the largest resulting concerns from Cryptopia’s actions is of course whether or not DECENT.bet itself is a security or a utility token. It’s important to note that Cryptopia’s actions are not a quantifier to this concern whatsoever. Not only is the exchange beholden to a different legislative environment than what defines a ‘security,” but as noted by their internal team this action is largely precautionary.

DECENT.bet has, and always will, operate from the strictest possible regulatory adherent perspective. We are incredibly proud to announce that DECENT.bet will be launching an esports platform, playDECENT.gg, allowing users to bet on themselves through tournaments and quests, as they compete in their favorite competitive video games.

This P2P product launch is possible through a new strategic partnership with PlayVIG. With over 20M games played, PlayVIG is a rapidly growing, immensely popular free competitive gaming platform.




What games will be available on playDECENT.gg?
The specific esports supported with the initial launch of the platform will be some of the most successful and popular titles in the world: Fortnite, Hearthstone, DOTA 2, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).

Collectively, these games enjoy over 361M monthly users. It’s not just the player base that’s huge, it’s the audience size and engagement. A Gameloco study estimated that in 2018, a total of 2.63B hours of these four titles alone were watched on Twitch in 2018. And a a recent Newzoo study estimates that the total eSports viewing audience will grow to 644M by 2022.

More popular titles will be added to the platform as we ramp up growth, including games like Apex: Legends. It’s important to us that we properly service all games and customers, so we will smartly grow and add new titles as our platform and resources can effectively manage them.

Competitive video games like these titles continue to be among the fasting growing sports in the world. This is an industry that from day one has been a strategic priority of ours due to its ability to attract a younger demographic into our gaming products. By creating a platform that allows users to bet on their own gameplay, we will not only drastically increase our market exposure and growth potential as an organization, but we will provide our user-base with a way to monetize their skills and passion.




Partnership with PlayVIG
Importantly, the playDECENT.gg launch will be accompanied and further fostered by our partnership with PlayVIG. We will work closely with them to drive their free-to-play users directly onto the playDECENT.gg platform.

playDECENT.gg will utilize PlayVIG’s proprietary game tracking technology (the “Virtual Referee”) to allow for a trusted, seamless way for contest outcomes to be reported and winning bets to be paid out. This is very important — it’s a complete market differentiator — something no one else has done before — and it fits with our ethos of transparency which, of course, is a driving force with blockchain technology and the overall space.

playDECENT.gg will also be advertised on PlayVIG to its fast-expanding database of active players who spend 22,000,000 minutes in the platform each month. This will exponentially increase the awareness of playDECENT.gg and all of DECENT.bet’s other products.

PlayVIG users earn VIG coins by playing on PlayVIG’s free-to-play platform, and can then choose to redeem VIG coins for DBETs or other items like in-game content, gift cards, etc.




So, what does all of this really mean?
First, it continues our product roadmap progression. The internal testnet for this P2P esports product will launch by March 31st. We’ll then take this to a closed beta testnet at The VeChain Summit in San Francisco (more about this, including the public application process, by end of next week).

Furthermore, this partnership allows us to launch a platform where anyone with DBETs can wager on their favorite esports game, and through their skill at that game, win DBETs from their opponent. Esports and cryptocurrency have a significant market overlap. Both are dominated by millennials who are tech-savvy. It’s no coincidence that the country that has the largest cryptocurrency adoption is also a giant in esports adoption, South Korea.

This new partnership will also allow for an easy on-ramp for anyone to earn DBETs by playing the games they love on PlayVIG. Individuals can then compete on our platform and be rewarded for their skill in tournaments. We will also create an online store in the platform to allow users to purchase gift cards for their favorite game platforms with DBETs. This will allow users an easy way to turn their winnings into their favorite game content.

Additionally, with our listing as an item to redeem in the PlayVIG store, we will also be marketing to the PlayVIG user-base.

With the launch of playDECENT.gg, we will be able to access new markets. Due to the classification of esports as a game of skill as opposed to one of chance, it opens the door to more jurisdictions that would have previously been closed off for our more traditional casino gaming products. These jurisdictions include major markets in Asia, Europe, as well as the US. However, in all cases, any individual wishing to compete and wager should confirm their eligibility and local laws before participating.




Next steps and what to expect
Currently, we are working closely with the PlayVIG team (as we have been for two months) to determine the path of least resistance to our testnet and eventual product launch. This path includes everything from software integration to determining the best client for the initial launch. As we get closer to testnet, we will release further details, including relevant launch dates and the order of client release. Clients supported will include web and mobile, Windows and Mac.

Additionally, we will be publishing a revised whitepaper (2.5) and roadmap reflecting both the esports P2P product scope and market size.

This an exciting time for all of us. Your support within the community has truly helped us. Patience, especially in this market with these conditions, is not an easy thing. There’s a reason the old proverb says that “Patience is a virtue.”

We needed to create, implement and monitor the essential mechanisms for future growth. We’ve now done that, both with our new and improved VeChain-based wallet as well as our successful slots mainnet deployment. This is another step in a focused product build. I just put a few fortnite games in, the system is really smooth and faster than I thought it would be but how do I close the agent after i'm through playing? will there be support for more games?

Currently, there's a small graphical bug preventing most Windows users (depends on the update theyre on) from closing it.

So, for the time being, just alt+f4 (click on the icon first so you dont accidentally close the program) or use task manager. This is a high priority update - so expect a fix soon.

As for new games, we are currently looking at (too early to say if they are guaranteed added to the platform, and when) Rainbow Six: Siege and Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Exactly, we opened with a platform users will have a fighting chance to earn bets on. Soon, more p2p-freedom will be enabled, and users will be able to place bets between eachother.

Small bump with some more news:

We are now Brave Verified. Due to the lack of ad space on our platform, this is currently not generating revenue. The main incentive for this is that the Brave Shield is now more compatible with the DBET platform.

I have read the article on medium about e-sports and I'm still confused on how is it possible that we can earn decent bet tokens by just playing. Do we just need to connect into your platform and play and you will reward dbet tokens? or is it like betting during our games?

Decentbet added another game to their platform - League of Legends Teamfight Tactics. In total, they now receive the 10 most popular eSports games on the platform  8)
