To clarify this project has nothing to do with Stake.com. We have been working on this platform for over a year, so the similarity in name is nothing more than a coincidence. Here is our twitter which has been active since last year twitter.com/stakegg .

tl;dr Stake.GG is a platform that combines the mechanics of financial markets with eSports. Our platform allows for users to buy, sell, and trade stakes in their favorite eSports teams before and during matches.

All I can say is: FINALLY! I've been waiting a long time for a site like this and I'll definitely give this a go during the ESL NY CS:GO Tournament this weekend. Hopefully I'll have some good experiences trying out your stuff that I can share in here with doubters.

I registered with the same name that I'm using here on the forum: Hhampuz

Looking forward to trying it out! :D

I got really excited after seeing this, because there isn't much option on e-sports alone, and that is even worse if we talk about an exchange market on e-sports. As far as I know the only option for an exchange bet on e-sports is on your site or fairlay.
First your site looks great, and you even have live streams which I loved, since I don't need to get to another site to watch it. There is only one problem right now, I wasn't able to the the prices on the games. Do I only have access to them when I register? Or no one is betting yet?

I'm not myself too keen on eSports but there is a *lot* of demand from the circles I am in on Whatsapp, where people manually do this sort of thing with a sort of trusted e-scrow in groups. But there's a lot of dissatisfaction and issues post-games, as can be expected. I've signed up for an account, but as I'm entering the markets there, none of them are loading for me. There's just a black screen with a loading emblem that doesn't change after minutes. Same outcome for a few markets. Or am I too early?

I haven't had any experience with this at all.  But what does "investing" in a esports team get me?  Say I invest 1 BTC for a team before a match and they win, I am assuming that I am able to divest some of the money I put in to gain a profit?  Am I correct in thinking this way?

I might have to check this out, it sounds pretty cool, do you guys have a FAQ on your website or help or about section so I can read some more information on this?

You do not look for affiliates?

We're working on an affiliate program for future iterations.

Thanks, and the reason prices aren't showing is due to not being logged in, and not many users on the site as we recently launched.

The black box is where the livestream will appear once the match is started. In your case you're early.

Each team has its own unique card for each match. Traders can buy and sell cards before and during matches. At the end of each match, cards for the winning team automatically get converted at 100% into GGs and cards for the losing team automatically get converted at 0% into 0 GGs. For example: Without including our trading fees, If you purchased 10 cards at 40% win chance, for a cost of 4 GGs (10 X 0.40 = 4), and you hold your cards until the end of the match and your cards' team wins then your cards will be converted into 10 GGs (10 X 1.00 = 10). You spent 4 GGs, won 10 GGs back for a profit of 6 GGs, a whopping 150% return on investment.

are you guys connected to gamebet.gg?

No, sir.

Wow. The world sure is changing when you are able to make bets on eSports.

However, isn't it very easy to stage the results in an eSport match?

Lets say some player loses on purpose just to win his bet on a eSport match?

Since its virtual it would be hard to prove.

It depends on the game, esports betting has been around for a while now and these guys in the big games at least does it for a living. It would not be worth it to stage a match since you can get banned from the game and even go to prison if you are found out. Not to mention the amount of money players are receiving just to participate in tournaments, not worth it at all.

Match fixing has always been a concern in eSports, and there has been several instances in the past where teams were convicted and banned. However, due to the money being flooded into the scene nowadays it is unlikely we'll see much, if any "throwing" in professional matches.

This is a pretty cool concept. I used to gamble a bit with Vulcun before they swapped to a token system and really enjoyed it. Have also used other betting sites for traditional sports, so I am excited to see how this compares. Are you looking for feedback on the user experience as well? Would be glad to post any thoughts about it.

I just registered so I can try it out this week for the League of Legends matches coming up. Username: davidbowiestealsbabies

Please create new thread on games and round board for this offer because it is not allowed to do giveaway here. By the way, I just checked your site and I'd like to suggest you to make a simple registration form without first name, last name, country. Username and password is enough imho.

Always nice to see another sports exchange appear. Your website looks really good and polished - great job on that. I signed up for an account and was surprised to see first and last name being required. I used an obvious fake name register, which I hope is okay as I have no intention of using credit cards/paypal on your website. Will you limit/ban customers who do that with Bitcoin only? You should also consider adding an account type where only BTC is accepted that doesn't require personal information.

I'm glad that Stake.GG immediately included League of Legends :) cause actually it's the only esports that I'm betting on. Well, I wouldn't miss to spread my bets on this site up to the coming Worlds 2017.
I'm sure that this will be another awesome betting series for the League community considering the teams that have qualified this year. maybe SKT again?  lol

I highly doubt that you can go to prison if you are caught trying to stage a match.

I can see you being able to stage a match during a live sport, many cameras on you and people usually are used to your moves and they can easily tell when you do something different or lose on purpose.

However with a game like CS:GO, it would be very difficult to prove that it was staged. The player can just say that he mouse stopped working or his mouse slipped and he lost.

Yes, your order has to be fulfilled, or it will remain pending, and cancel when the match is finished.

All question been answered already because as darkstar and other people do ask about it is also my concern.Registering with full name is really a NO NO for me and its now being clear up that its not really a necessary thing as long we do make use of BTC and you should expect that most people on here would use that payment system because we are on Bitcoin forum btw and also i do like the website design its cool in the eyes.

Thanks, I appreciate it. The first thing I notice is that after pressing "Place Order," there was no confirmation message so that I knew it was correctly processed. I am currently using my laptop with about a 15 inch screen, so I would have to scroll down to see my open orders on the match. That being said, I made the same bet twice before scrolling down to check if I was missing something. Might be a good idea to add a confirmation message for clarity.

I will keep posting feedback as I go.

what this site really  needs is pundits, since its a betting platform that operates like Betfair,Betdaq and similar
you can end up betting on a team and get none to take your bet on,this is frustrating
since its a new site,I suggest you offer some incentitive for people to register and try it out
or run a good promo to draw pundits to your site, maybe a freebie smallish bet or something like that

2. Others said it already, there is no promo, no bonus, no incentive to try your platform. Think of some kind of additional motivation for new players. It would be cool.

As I received some free tokens to try out your site I did just that for a couple of days and figured I'd let everyone know about my experience:

1) It was a bit difficult getting starting and figuring out what everything meant, you have the same thing displayed in different ways and that adds some confusion.
2) I placed a bet on a couple of games only to realize someone else had to accept the bet which in return meant that when I thought I'd won, I hadn't since nobody had accepted my bet. A bit frustrating.
3) I can deposit using Creditcard I assume? I can only withdraw for skins or BTC though. Hopefully that'll change in the future?

So, ups and downs throughout my experience. I'll give this another guy and keep posting my bets as they might get taken by others as your userbase grows. I agree with others that some kind of promotion would be sufficient as you rely on a big userbase that are willing to bet against eachother.

Thanks!

Thank you for your feedback, greatly appreciate it. I'll try my best to respond to each of your concerns below.

1) Agreed, our platform can be more intuitive. We plan on improving this aspect of the site greatly in future iterations.
2) Our site is built as an exchange, so this problem is rather hard to "fix". However, with a large user base this problem should be lessened.
3) Yes, in the future we plan on implementing a multitude of different deposit/withdrawal methods.

This got me excited as I'm an Esports follower and a casual online player myself. Honestly, I really don't know how's the mechanics here or how it differs in Esports betting (I do bet in Esports on a regular basis). Just visited your website and at first, I can't load it right away. Maybe my connection has some problems in it or you can check it if you are having issues with your site. I also noticed that your site only state Mastercard/Visa as payment options. Is this true? You'll not accept BTC in the future?

Another thing that I noticed is that your site asks for first name and last name. I will use a different one in this case but what's the point of asking it if people will just use fake ones? It would be great if you could also remove the country as it will be just the same fake information that users will provide.

The site is loading fine for me at the moment, so I'm unsure about why it may not be loading for you. Secondly, we currently accept Bitcoin/CSGO Skins, with the intention of accepting Paypal, Credit Cards, etc in the future. Registering with fake information is fine as long as Bitcoin/CSGO skins remain your payment method.

1. Implementing them as we speak, this was addressed in earlier posts. There is a lot of paper work that has to be done in order to process credit cards, paypal, etc in a site like ours.
2. There is a promotion - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2187588.0 it was simply removed from this thread as you cannot host promotions/giveaways in this forum. That being said, I truly believe our low fees (1%/5%) should be a huge incentive for users to try our site as other sites charge upwards of 15-20%.
3. Our API supports 12 eSports titles, but they're currently disabled as we don't want to stretch our already small user base thin. They will be enabled in the future.

The League of Legends world championships have started. We're hosting a giveaway in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2187588.0 if you would like some free GG's.

You definitely need to work over stake.gg user interface. I'm betting a lot and even I can't understand how easily to check odds and so on.

For me you are https://www.betmoose.com/ clone by idea, but for esports betting and with worst interface from them.

I agree the user interface can be improved, but in my opinion the odds are quite intuitive. The odds can be found directly above the betting UI.

Our site is an exchange, meaning your order must be fulfilled by another user.

This problem will be alleviated when our user base grows.

Yes and may I suggest some type of Reddit advertisements or some type of signature campaign.

On bitcointalk there are many gambling sites such as these however they never grow due to illiquidity trading conditions because people try and bet but there are no maker/takers.

Those are not odds, betting odds. The graph is of winning probability.
Betting odds are 2.22 (decimal), 3/1 (UK), +122 (US)
If your graph is showing 4.33%/95.77% why the f should I waste my time to get the correct betting odds? I will just bet on normal exchange.

So are you guys working hard with new and improved features and could you give any sort of information regarding how the userbase is looking?

Considering this is a project where userbase is key it would be nice if you could have some tickers on the website with users logged in, registered or something of the sorts.
