Based on feedback from our users, the finalized pricing for MiningMonitor has been released.

Major changes:

The Silver account can now monitor 6 workers, double from before.  Now the majority of the smaller miners can use a silver account and watch all of their workers.  

Gold Users can now monitor and get analytics for UNLIMITED workers and pools!  

Platinum is yearly only now. For 10btc you get 2 minute updates, 300 starting sms credits and refills of 200 sms for 0.5btc.  For the price of the original Gold yearly account, you get much, much more!  


Failover Support! ( Linked Workers )

So, how do you get stats from Slushe's or Deepbit pool? Or does this service also include a pool?

To get stats, you provide your API key and we use that to generate all of the analytics.  There is a wealth of information in the API if you graph the results over time.

And no, there is no MiningMonitor pool, we provide services to Miners who are using other pools.

There is a saying in the startup world that says "build what you will use", so we did ;)

In truth, it was based on a simple SMS app for watching our own miners, and kept growing.  One total rewrite and a ton of features later, and this is the result.

This site is very promising. I like graphs.  :D

We took special care in creating the graphs. We went through 3 evolutions trying to find the best fit.  

First GD generated graphs which were pool quality, and computationally expensive.  

Then Google's Image graph API , which were nice , but not good enough.  The scaling was inconsistant, and the positioning of axis labels were inconsistant also.  We still use their API to generate the pie charts for share/worker and stales/worker in the stats.

Finally, we settled on JQuery flot graphs.  They looked the nicest, scaled correctly, and even add mouse over point labels for extra detail.

<edit>Consistant scaling was important, it lets you drag your eyes down over the multiple graphs and be to see correlations in the data.</edit>

I used jQuery flot graphs as well for interactive charts on my latest iPad app. They're great.

However I have one problem. I can't add my BTC Guild account.
I'm currently on a low load server, the API-key is correct, I can even download the data provided by the API myself.

So what could be wrong?

BTCGuild was taking longer then 5 seconds to respond to API requests.  I have corrected the issue ( longer timeout ).

Please add your key again.

I found another bug.

I put my mail-adress in the notification settings but checked none of the notification options but still got a notice that my miner is back online:

I have 30 workers, there's no way for me to test this out for a month before committing the most expensive package? I don't see the value in monitoring one graphics card, even as a test. Why does it cost more PER worker? You only have to access the API page once every 20 minutes and store the data for each worker.

The spot pirce is still based on MtGox ? Why isn't it based on TradeHill?

I would be happy to evaluate this and share what I think about it if I could monitor my entire network for a week or two.

It is not uncommon for the initial "welcome" email to contain your username and password, especially for websites that do not keep credit card information.  Assuming your email remains secure, your only concern with an emailed password is a "man in the middle" due to the fact that email is transmitted in plaintext.

The password is stored in the database as a per user salted hash, so if you do a "password lookup" , it emails you a onetime key to login and be able to change it.  Once again, this is vulnerable to a "man in the middle" , but given it's one time usability , less so.

Seeing as how it was simply a design issue to include the password in the email, and this is a security conscious community, I removed it.

Hmmm.... the free account is all but useless if you have more than one worker, right?  I might consider buying the full account, but I sure wish there was a way to see at least the pool stats accurate for all of my workers combined in the free account.

The free account is designed to allow an individual to "taste" the services we provide.   It was based around the request of a tester to have an account for ( and I quote ) "the dude in his dorm that wants to know if his gaming box stops making him money while he is f*****g off down the hall"

The cost is based on a per worker basis from the aspect of storage of their data, and the statistical "crunching" that must be done for each one.

It's not bad idea to have a "full trial", so here is what I did:

All paid accounts have a "provisional period" of 2 hours to allow for delays in getting confirmations of payments.  A provisional account has 15 minute updates, and notifications turned off, but all other features of the account.

I've extended the provisional status time window to three days to allow for a trial.  The copy on the join page will be edited this afternoon.

Having any issues with Slush's pool? Can't seem to be able to add the API, always says it's not responding or such.

Should be fine now...  A small oddity in an anti cheating routine rejected the API key.

Would also like to say that this is really a great tool, perhaps of limited use for me since I'm not some super-dedicated miner, but the higher tier services should definitely be a good help for those that keep numerous units running and don't want to keep an eye on them constantly but can do with a little warning if something does go wrong.

I request another two features.

1. possibility to adjust timezone

2. have monthly and overall stats for pools and miners besides just daily stats.

On a side note, how about an API formatted just for scrapers like you?
This way you dont have to check api keys for each worker, you can pull live snapshot of entire pools data and parse from there. More efficient for you and us.
Maybe something like: http://bitclockers.com/api/apikey1|apikey2|apikey3
or better, send POST method to http://bitclockers.com/advancedapi/ with list of API keys.

Other than a list of every worker's info in the pool, what other info would you like?

I requested the total MH/s on the dashboard less than two days ago and you go a step further to make a "quick stats" bar? Bravo! Dang, I wish all developers worked this quick.  Don't need it, but upgrading to Platinum this month just cause you're service is so dang cool.

I know it's OCD of me, and minor, but any way you can flip the "Quick Stats" with "Bitcoin Prices" - Keeping the dark grey on top?

The more important bar now is the Quick Stats (fantastic addition) while the lesser Bitcoin Prices bar keeps me up to date on USD <=> BTC.

Though, only platinum offers monitoring for 6+ workers so it's not really worth the ~$400 per year IMO.

Eclipse pool for example offers free SMS failure notifications. Still, I'd probably pay around 10 bucks/mo for all the stats you provide for ~40 workers

Password reset is broken. Also getting miner down emails every 30 mins even though the miner that is being monitored rarely goes 60 seconds without a share and has never gone >120 seconds. Want to disable the notifications but forget the password and can't reset.

I can recommend miningmonitor.com to everyone. I had a problem with receiving SMS notifications, I emailed my problem, and got a reply within minutes. Owner eventually fixed my problem and it's working top notch!

Same here.  Owner rearranged dashboard layout and created "Quick Stats" in under 24 hrs on a suggestion.  Bravo MiningMonitor!

A question regarding plans policies. Am I allowed to share an account or even resell it?

What if I pool resources with others for the platinum membership and simply share it between us?

Hmm...

The terms (http://www.miningmonitor.com/terms.html) don't explicitly deny this, but functionally it's iffy ( specifically for this reason ).

An account may have defined:

1 email address for notifications to be delivered to
1 Primary SMS number for notifications
1 Secondary SMS where ALL notifications that were delivered to the primary number are delivered to the secondary.

So, if you wanted to share or resell access to your account, you could... but you would need to get creative.

It has come up in conversation between the team to have per-pool/per worker notification settings, but it was shelved as abusable.

If we did add this feature in the future, there would be a surcharge applied to do so ( a per pool fee, or maybe extra SMS credits consumed ).  But, as of the moment, that has never been requested so it's not on the master "todo" list in any form.

The 4th of July is a good day for features.

Based on user requests, you can now turn monitoring off / on for all the workers of a pool!  Simple one click method to update your monitoring if you switch pools ( say during a DDoS attack on your favorite pool )

You can also purge all the stats from a pool and all of the workers associated with that pool.  A clean slate for your workers.

Great work Pete. Question: on my worker page I only see the 'purge stats' link, and I don't see the 'link to other worker' link. Do I need to enable this somewhere else?

Do you have monitoring enabled for workers on two different pools?  Or are you trying to link workers on the same pool.

Excellent!  I am glad to see that added.

For consistency with the other pools, would it make more sense to have the Eligius API key (BTC address) as a worker property, not the pool?  It would be nice if I could make an "Eligius Pool" (without any API information) and then added several workers (BTC adddresses).  One of the major drawbacks of Eligius is that it does not support multiple workers.  If MiningMonitor could add multiple workers to the Eligius pool I could keep an eye on aggregated stats.

I think it would be as simple as having multiple wallet addresses, one per worker, and then naming the pools accordingly. So that you would have N-eligius-pools for however many workers you are using. Then you would get an email about whatever pool is offline, as each eligius pool is only capable of one worker/wallet address.

I was thinking if the Eligius pools could have sub-workers for each wallet address.  That appears to be how the other pools work.

Sure.  On MM, other pools (such as bitclockers) supports having multiple workers within each pool.  This allows you to aggregate all of the workers from the pool together.

I wouldn't mind being able to create an "Eligius Pool" and then adding several wallet addresses as worker inside that pool.  Right now, each worker is his own pool.

Ok I see what you mean. The problem with that is the API key for Eligius is the worker address. I'm sure Pete can create a workaround for that issue  ;D

Feature Request:  Tabular output.  It would be nice to get most of the information MiningMonitor has in tabular form so that we can do our own analyses in Excel, etc. 

I am thinking:

Date TotalShares StaleShares BTCEarned AverageHash Difficulty(at noon) and MtGox(at noon)

Or something like that.

Thoughts? 

I prefer CSV but yeah, it would be the tits to have export data.

Still no monthly, overall stats, wut?

It would be nice if we didn't get "worker up" notifications for linked workers.  For example, when I fallover from 1 pool to another, I do not need to be notified.
