Title: Coinsecure - pathetic service??
Post by: kk009 on September 15, 2017, 06:10:50 AM
Since yesterday, Coinsecure is behaving erratically. Their website was down, they told go to app. Unlucky for me, during this time, I transferred 1.6 BTC from my Trezor to CoinSecure. Here are the transaction details:
1. https://btc-bitcore3.trezor.io/tx/282a3b58565bae8b29cf7be5dbc57a1f6a5cf75acc44b7e99ae79683d4857d2d
2. https://btc-bitcore3.trezor.io/tx/110e26ad67ee88e768c7e72b4b5848a47bc1e4931b0ce322f22de3c0fe649818

The account still shows 0 BTC. It has been over 14 hours now. No reply to mails - mailed 3 times.

Calling since last 30 mins as their support opens at 11 am IST - waiting time and call gets disconnected. What is a customer supposed to do?

Yes, why can't they get the website up and running? It's always down.

Never transact when there is a sudden dump or pump. They always do that. I too have been suffered in the past and their service lacks everything. It's better to be on the safe side by not sending to their address in these situations.

I don't think they intentionally do that , its the huge traffic of users during dump or bump or any price movement which overload the capacity of servers .

The reason for my transfer was I wanted to sell before final dip point. And CoinSecure played perfect spoiler. I lost INR 50,000+ because I sold 1.6BTC at 3100 where I was seeing the rate of 3600 at time of transfer.

And there is no one to blame except tech scaling :( And we live in 21st century.

ITs bad that you losted some monies, I am too looking to transfer funds once I get some bitcoins in my wallet and learnt that shouldn't use Coinsecure.

And there is no one to blame except tech scaling :( And we live in 21st century.

This is spot on, not just with tech, but with other stuff as well, we are definitely struggling to keep up.
We are hiring a bunch of testers, etc to get things in place, but the talent pool is not suited for large distributed systems, etc, so that is going much much slower than expected. We are very open to spend and will be more than happy to hire from the forums, especially.

All the code is being handled by a couple of people at the moment, which gives us lots and lots of security, but also opens us up for repeats, loops, blocking calls, etc.. mainly because it is extremely complex to implement something like this for over 10000's concurrent users.
Our last implementation took us up by 3X load and that has been compensated already.

We have identified auth to be one of the biggest blockers when loads grow and have reimplemented it completely. Far more secure and faster, the new auth, along with about a 90% rewrite of logic has happened over the past month and we should be rolling it out within a week.

We found an outsourcing partner as well for our Mobile strategy, so expect picture perfect apps, etc to be published in 2 months.

Dr Saxena has joined us full time as well, which is a huge boost to the eco system. He is well known as an early adopter and crypto/ coding expert, using the handle Amitabh on the forums.

The next steps are critical to us, to establish stability, so that we can roll out the ether platform as well, which is ready, but waiting on BTC-INR app stability before rollout.

Do support and help, especially with testers and customer support.

We come up as the best, time and again, because we just wont stop building and maintaining this ecosystem and product. Even if there is a slump somewhere, we will come back with something a lot more robust. This is our purpose as a team..

I found that my order got sold at a lower price than what I had agreed to while placing the SELL order. I had placed it just few minutes before the drop at Rs. 277000 and then the price kept dropping after that and my order was pending for hours. Next day I checked, the order was sold at Rs. 2-3k less than what I had set the price at. I don't remember the exact amount but I am sure it was 3k less. It's weird.

You can get this data from your timeline under trade data -> completed buy/ sell..
Click the + and you will get rate specified and rate completed.

Thanks for being open and receptive. Appreciate it, will be more than eager to see robustness coming in soon - 50k loss against a promise for better and stronger ecosystem is worth it :)
